Don't trust GoDaddy

Been with GoDaddy for many years, products have been OK though they always make you buy more than you expect, the essentials always needing to be added. In July they stopped email services not using Outlook and forced everyone onto Outlook. My company uses Apple and email got lost and the service did not work. GoDaddy refuses to refund having broken the contract and caused my company a lot of headache, cost and concern. We moved to one.com which is much better, both in terms of service and flexibility.

Lost use of our emails and website after reporting a hacker using our godaddy office 365 emails. We are now unable to renew our subscription, because despite 3 attempts to prove our identity ( which they claim is a 72 hour turn around- lies!) they will not allow us to reset the passwords to our accounts. Our business is being affected and they do not care. There is not a complaint procedure and there is no way to appeal or get actual help. Try calling their service phone number and count how many times you get hung up on.

Passwords for Microsoft 365 almost never work, even though we carefully save them on a spread sheet. More times than not, we have to click "Forgot Password" and create a new one. We have had to do this dozens of times over the past year.

Secondly, I was getting Exchange pop-ups on my phone, which would occur repeatedly. They got so bad, I had to call support several times, as my phone was totally dysfunctional. Upon the most recent occurrence, GoDaddy Support had me delete the Exchange App. When I did this, it deleted almost all of my contacts. I had hundreds of business and personal contacts containing large amounts of data. GoDaddy was unable to retrieve my contacts and refused to provide adequate compensation for my loss.

We are seeking an alternative provider as GoDaddy has proven to be extremely frustrating and unfair.

I would avoid godaddy for everything except domain names. We bought a service "Website With Marketing"
The website looked as though it had been thrown together by a child having a tantrum... it was diabolical.

I cancelled and expected a refund. None was forthcoming, I was told that it was because we were outside their refund period., The website didn't appear until well after the refund deadline.

I am absolutely disgusted with the way this giant corporation thinks it can do as it pleases. This is not the end of the matter either.

Horrible experienceDo not trust this company. They will not listen to any of your directives, they will not respect your product or your business. They will cash your check spend five minutes on a webpage what you will then spend the next three months trying to get all of the grammatical errors corrected, trying to get rid of stock pictures you never put in your gallery, or even trying to get them to put your correct products on your page. Nightmare to work with ……anybody is better than this. Hire your 7th grader who took an intro to web design course, at least they might actually listen to you.

They have a horrible courtesy system and will instantly disable and then promptly sell your domain to a private company that then attempts to sell you back your own domain for many thousands of dollars. They charge nearly 5 years of service for being late on a payment for a domain even when you have been a decade long customer. They have no grace period to note and are interested in just your money. I recommend backing very far away from this provider.

Gone down hill

I used to love godaddy customer service but now it's terrible. Not sure if they've outsourced or what - but I just had the worst rep. He was talking in circles, not answering the most basic question.

I am now sitting on hold for over ten minutes after asking to speak with someone else. I can barely make out what's he's saying and he has the nerve to have an attitude. He keeps coming back to the line, not saying anything and then placing me on hold again.

I would highly recommend looking at another company for domain purchases and management.

I have used godaddy.com for domain registration for the past 10+ years. I never have a problem with their service and the one time I contacted customer service, I was completely satisfied.

I do agree that they offer a lot of add ons so you will need to pay attention when checking out. Some people use these items; however, I do not.

Cool company

So, I have been with GoDaddy company for many years and I have found the fees to be quite reasonable for the quality of the service that I receive. The automatic renewal feature kind of "snuck up" on me one year, but a phone call to a real live support person straightened it all out to my satisfaction. As one who isn't all that tech savvy, I'm impressed when a service like this can make things easy for me to use and can recommend it to anyone!

Beware run Scammers

Worst Service had them design new web site was very very bad the worst My 4 year old could have done better job. Then ask to have it fixed they what me to fix it. What was I paying for. Took 2 days for a service manger to call me back. Ask for refund was told again I could fix it Will not give you a full refunded and your out of luck Been a customer with them for years. Beware well trained Scammers

Worst service
July 19, 2023

I have been a customer of this company for several years, but something unbelievable is happening now. I purchased an email from them, and for a whole week, they have been unable to activate it due to various reasons. Today, I had my third conversation with their customer support, and they offered to wait another 24 hours. In the 21st century, I can't activate an email for a whole 7 days! It feels like they fired people and hired robots for customer support.

Despite sending seven emails during the month-long contract, none were answered, and phone calls were ignored. No effort was made at all. Finally came in contact with a new Go Daddy broker six weeks later, who provided a domain cost over 160 times the original estimate. Have wasted so much time and some money on a service that is nothing short of disgraceful.

This site promises the world and delivers very little. They are super quick to take your money yet when their system fails time and time again, they are nowhere. Too busy to help, don't follow thru on issues, cut you off and never resolve a thing.
If you are not currently signed up with them dont bother go elsewhere.

Hosting expired due to old credit card on file was told I needed to pay $150 reactivate fee. Thank you godaddy for making me realize my business no longer needs a website and google is just fine. 8 year customer that will never be back!

HOSTING REFUND
July 28, 2022

I cancelled my hosting (yearly) and told them that I wanted 1 month of hosting and then for it to cancel.

They never cancelled and it just carried on, unfortunately I didn't notice as i was too busy (mum dying of cancer) and they continued to take money out.

Now they deny i had that conversation and only refunded 1 month. They can clearly see the hosting has not been used.
This is shocking, very disappointing service.

Go Daddy has plunged in my estimation to a 1. For two days I've attempted to get a human being on the phone to renew only one product -- not the several products they email me are up for auto renewal. There is no completion of the process of updating my payment method -- the same method for the last two decades but new "expiration date", they have not called me as requested, the bot seems clueless.
And like so many report re Vrbo that also has millions of customers, GoDaddy will simply drop you -- this after taking many hundreds or thousands of dollars from you. They will simply END the interaction.

I'm "old school" and alienated by the overpowering money grabber overtones.

I was having a problem loading my HTML code as Godaddy had changed the steps. Contacted support through the message app only to find they were totally incompetent and unhelpful. After twenty minutes on hold talked an extremely rude rep who blamed me for the problem. As soon as this hosting period expires I will never use Godaddy again.

Worst company. Service is manipulative and a total circus. No integrity no attention to detail. And reps do not care at all about customers. Do not waste your time and money. I am leaving them before it gets even worse. They are a disgrace crushing small biz owners by messing projects up beyond comprehension.

Here is my experience with GoDaddy which I think is substandard company.
1. They charged me for domain-club even though I called their rep and asked to discontinue the service.
2. I was receiving endless marketing calls from them trying to sell some products or services that were useless to me.
3. They shut down my website which was hosted on their servers claiming that I had excessive traffic. When I requested copies of my traffic logs they said that logs are not available:-)
4. Do not fall for low domain registration prices, without reading small print. The fist year will pricing is a bait, but when you try to renew you will get "raped" by some of the highest prices on the market

My advice - don't do business with low life companies!
