To start with, for my original reservation I only ended up using GetARoom through deceptive advertising... I Googled the resort name and thought I was dealing with them directly. Then when Covid-19 messed up our plans, it's been nothing but a headache dealing with their customer service. Even though I've confirmed my email address, I've never received any email confirmation of my transactions. When they changed my reservation to further out to September they made me charge the room for the new reservation and said they'd refund the charges for my earlier reservation. The new charges went through, but I've yet to see a refund for the original reservation. I would never recommend this site to anyone
They promised refund, then say they have no refund policy. After a month, getaroom says the hotel wouldn't refund money and there is nothing they can do, I cancelled within weeks of advance of our trip. Plus, I talked to hotel directly and they say it's getaroom.com who is trying to keep the money. SHADY COMPANY and I will be reviewing them on every site I have access along with filing a official complaint!

I booked a better price here ("free cancellation" through TripAdvisor) than any of the other sites & when I decided to cancel bc of covid-19, I called the help desk & they answered very quickly & refund was back on my card within days.

I have been trying to get a refund since March when spring training was cancelled in AZ. The hotel (BW) said they would give a refund if Get-A-Room would call them - you cannot get anyone to answer the phone - just round robin phone tree. Finally got my refund - 23 days later

Be very aware of this Co, I was redirected to this Co when making a reservation to a name brand Hotel. This reservation I made was 3 weeks before the Hotel I was staying at closed due to the pandemic. Thank God I called the Hotel before leaving home only to find out they were closed down from the pandemic and governors ruling. I called Getaroom to let them know the hotel was closed and wanted a refund, The agent at getaroom opened a ticket and thats the last I heard until I called them back 2 weeks later to let them know I have not received a refund. The agent said she wasn't sure if the hotel charged getaroom and if they have I would need to go through the hotel to get a refund. I told her I spoke to the hotel and they never got paid nor did they charge getaroom for this reservation. The getaroom agent tried to call the hotel to verify but said she could not get through. I told her i just got off the phone with the hotel reservation desk and to try again, The agent refused and told me to call back on April 15th, Why this date I don't know. The Hotel was extremely nice and told me to Beware of this Company they have had a lot of complaints. My Trouble ticket with getaroom is R*******866 Getaroom please make this right!

I have been trying to get a refund for my trip to Disney which was canceled due to Covid 19. I had no idea when booking this trip on line that I was being redirected to Get A Room. After countless hours waiting on hold and providing proof that the hotel was honoring all refunds I have still not received my refund. Not to mention that the hotel has since closed. This company has my money and I have now been forced to file a complaint with the BBB and dispute the charge with my credit card company. I will never book another hotel online as a result of this nightmare. I understand volumes are high but the inability of these companies to respond and issue refunds appropriately is unbelievable.

Only after I posted the below review did I finally get someone to respond to me. They promised me a refund within 3-5 business days. And "please remove your bad review". Well to date 12 business days later I still DO NOT have a refund. I have placed a dispute with my CC company and an official complaint with the BBB. This company is terrible.
DO NOT USE! I was unaware I was booking with them. I was on the hotel website and somehow I booked with them. Needed to cancel my reservation because of COVID-19, and I'm getting the run around. The hotel Caribe Royal in Orlando told me they could see my reservation but I needed to cancel with Get A Room. I called and they said I would hear in 24hrs, almost a month later I'm still calling and was told I needed to contact "their affiliate" Reservation Counter for my refund. Reservation Counter does not see my reservation. What a JOKE BOTH companies are. The worst part is the HOTEL IS CLOSED! I could not go even if I wanted to. They are scammers and ripping people off. Disputing with my CC Company.

Reserved a room with get a room 4/17 - 4/18 2020, had to cancel due to coronavirus shut down, requested by the President! The President of the United States asked all to stay at home during these dates, my event was canceled and the hotel shut down. Get a room has not issued my refund, even though this is going on. The hotel said that they are issuing refunds to 100% of all people that booked with them but get a room want to keep my money that I paid for the room and the hotel NEVER got my reservation! I will never use get a room again and I advise everyone not to. I will continue to post my views of get a room as long as they have my money. Great experience. Person was very knowledgable and helpful. The transaction went smoothly. I was very satisfied.
Charges you more than going straight to the hotel to book! Not a good deal at all! Their site makes you think you are booking on the Hilton site, so triple check! Also, when I arrived at the hotel, they had not received my payment from get a room, so I had to pay the hotel again until it was worked out.

I had booked two rooms for 4 nights, I was running late and was unable to get the hotel the first day. Upon arrival the second day, I was informed they were sold out. The hotel informed me that did not have my money from the booking agent and therefor was unable to refund anything for the remaining 3 nights, suggesting I call the booking agent. Here, they call me a no-show and are refusing to refund me for any portion of the trip, saying I should have called the hotel to let them know I would be late (though I did, they did not answer the phone). After holding for over an hour, I was able to speak to someone, but after only being called a no show asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold for another 20 minutes before I was hung up on. I book hotels very regular, but would sleep on a park bench before I would consider using this company for a room.

Booked a hotel with get a room and the site had me looking at various rooms in Selma California and I booked one. When I got the confirmation I googled the address to see how far the drive was and it showed the hotel to actually be in Selma Alabama, Not Selma California.
So I called to cancel the reservation and get a room said that it was being cancelled less than 72 hours so I would need to contact the hotel.
I call the hotel directly and... No problem. Went to call get a room and from then on I get a recording that has locked in on my cell number.
Phone goes straight to the recording asking if you would like to book another room... I think not.
Where is my refund? The hotel agreed and you still have my money, a lot of my money.
Moving on to YELP now.
They do not tell you they are third party - answered the phone as if hotel reservations. Fees are outrageous! Email is so slow you don't realize who you made reservations with until you've checked in. Beware!

I made a reservation for The Guest House at Graceland in Memphis via GetARoom before the Coronavirus pandemic. The event I was going to attend was cancelled and I needed to cancel the hotel reservation. The hotel told me they would not refund me because I reserved the room through a third party. When I contacted GetARoom I was told that the booking was not refundable. A lot of back and forth via phone and emails went on but they finally cancelled the reservation and told me they would reach out to the hotel on my behalf to ask for a refund without penalty. GetARoom told me that the hotel agreed to not charge a penalty and GetARoom is submitting a refund to my credit card. I contacted GetARoom again to also ask for a refund of their fees. They agreed to refund all the charges and finally there is refund credit in my credit card account. I rebooked with GetARoom the same room for a different date in October. The final resolution of this matter is OK but it took a bit of effort on my part for GetARoom to respond to me. The service that GetARoom provides is good and they do what they promise to do. However, if you are going to get a room through them make sure you understand all the terms fully because changing them will be difficult if not impossible.

My name's Olga Konstantopoulou and I come from Greece. I had booked a room in Paris, at Hotel Bristol Republique, for 18/03/20, but because of coronovirus epidemy I could not travel to France. I asked GETAROOM to cancel the reservation and be refunded (397 euros). I thought, due to circumstances, it would take much time but they did it immediately and even provided me with a daily follow up. Thank you GETAROOM.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
