Was sent over to GetARoom from TripAdvisor and everything was right there, no searching, not a bunch of layers deep to find the information.
Easy and quick to book a room and was sent the email confirmation within 10 seconds of me pressing the button to finish the booking.
Wanted a room in same hotel we are starting a trip an extra two days before the excursion begins, and it was easy and straight-forward.
Hotel didnt get specifics about quantity of guests and breakfast which were my selections in the search web. Had to pay additional for both
Absolutely do not use. I tried to cancel a reservation within 24 hours of making it, and this third party site (which conveniently poses as the hotel website itself) told me I would have to pay the full amount of the booking even though I was a month from check in. They lied to me when they told me this was the hotel's policy. If you try to cancel with them, they pretend to help you, take your number, call you back, but the entire point is to make you give up and either keep the reservation or lose your money. It's an unacceptable way to do business and nobody in the tourism or hospitality industry would ever refuse to cancel a reservation a month out. I am not sure how I missed that I was on this third party site, but read everything very carefully. It might look like you are booking direct, but this company has been known to pretend to be the hotel even on the phone.
I've now called 5 times since yesterday but still have no resolution to a relatively simple problem- I wish I could give this organization zero stars!
The Phone Reps are pleasant but have only offered repeatedly broken promises of call back. They have no authority to fix anything and have no escalation process, I was just disconnected during my 5th CALL in two days... so will try one last time and then I will write this off as an expensive mistake and book elsewhere
Managers- This is a service and your front line people should be EMPOWERED to solve problems or have a quick and simple escalation process,-Problems happen- how you manage them is what counts
Overall it was ok. I would do it again. The only thing is that I couldn't reserve more than 5 rooms at a time. I needed to reserve 9 rooms and had to do separate transactions with different email addresses.
Fast and efficient! And the offers seem reasonably priced. Good service overall Will come back to this site again for sure.
My call to make reservations went fast and smoothly. The lady taking the reservation was well informed and asked appropriate questions.
I made a reservation with getaroom and called the same night to ask if I could make an adjustment to my reservation. I specifically asked if I would be able to change the number of guests from 4 adults to 3 adults. I was told I would be able to do this. When I called back at a later date to change my reservation, I was told that I would not be able to change my reservation. If I canceled my reservation to change it, I would not be guaranteed a room.
The process to reserve a room was extremely smooth and quick. I would use this site again to book a room.
When I tried to extend my reservation for an additional night, I was unable to do so and had to check in a second time. Not terrible but not convenient. Check in process at the micro-tel was slow and I couldn't talk to the people at the hotel when making reservations.
When I call initially, the price was ridiculous. But when I mentioned it was too high to cancel reservations, the representative called me back with a significant price reduction. Very happy now.
Love the rates but the next day I needed to change my reservation to one day less as I forgot the time difference in flying form North America to Europe. So we are arriving a day later. I would have to cancel my booking and re-book but they could not guarantee the same price as was advertised on Kayak. I checked and the current price is $72 more per night or twice the cost.
Save a more than dollars over another website. Did not contact customer service or anything like that so not sure if I would have a problem. Detailed on the invoice but did not charge me resort fee nor did they say I would be charged at the hotel but I know that. Might be misleading for someone else.
NOT saavey AT ALL on my phone but site was painless and simple to use. Will certainly use again for my next room booking for future Trips
Booked a room at the Four Seasons Mexico City through GetARoom. Far discounted and smooth as I had booked on the Four Seasons website itself.
It was my first experience with getaway and everything worked perfect.
The hotel was not so good. Noises from the corridor were heard from the room, the shower turned from hot to cold without moving the tap.
When I made the reservation, I was never told that I would be charged a parking fee for my vehicle! I will NOT use them again!
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
