Was quoted $769.44 for 4 rooms for 2 nights which I consented to, and then they added $354.36 in fees for their service which I was not informed of and they refuse to refund the money to my card. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Do not use GetARoom as they are dishonest and will rob you, and their customer service representative doesn't speak English and has a rooster crowing in the background! Was promised a return call when I complained. 3 days later, no return call. I called back and they said they were still working on it and to be patient. Still waiting...
Communications were difficult. It was necessary for information to be repeated multiple times. When it came to the disclaimer information, it was delivered in a machine gun manner like you experience with the TV commercials where they have do their ten sentence disclaimers in five seconds or less. The Jabber portion of the website seems very accurate. I think I would have preferred talking to a receptionist at the place I made the reservations.
One of the rooms I booked had no heat, a broken phone, no fridge, and blood stains on bedding. Another room was obtained, but the infrastructure is old and is in poor maintenance condition, with unapologetic staff.
Terrible to speak with, not English speakers, huge background noise from their headset. Unwilling to adapt to the problem. Couldnt understand my wishes to add another room! Extremely painful and irritating experience!
Be aware that even though the room rates they quote on this site may sound great, they tack on a ridiculous amount of fees. I never got an emailed confirmation from the site until I filed this complaint, and then they sent it to me. That's when I saw the line labeled Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees. The total of those charges was an additional 38% above the total for the room alone. In other words, if you exclude a bit for taxes, their Service Fees were an additional 30-35% over the price of the room charge. At that point it's not a bargain at all. And it was a huge hassle just getting to their customer service department: menu options that simply hang up on you; and when I finally got to a human (only by choosing the option for making a new reservation), when they transferred me to customer service I got hung up on another 2 times. I will never use this site again.

I fell like I have been robbed. Our money has been tied up for two days. $1405. 55. They supposedly booked us a room and then did not deliver on an actual room. We were charged 4 times and still never received any room. The site kept saying that these rooms were already booked. This is on our debit card also. They are telling us that it could take 5-7 days to clear these pending charges. Now if I want them off sooner I have to get the bank on the phone with me and then conference call "Getaroom" on the phone with me for them to erase all charges now. I don't see why I am having to do all the work for their problem. It's like they are holding my cash over my head and saying "here see if you can come and get it!"
I clicked on Sams Town Res. Site and asked if this was Boyd Casino Reservations to which the rep. Said yes, without telling me it was getaroom. After booking the room and paying, I asked if there were any other charges associated with this booking and was told no, but when I checked out there was a $58.30 extra charge. These people will say anything to book you, beware.
Booked a room at getaroom.com charged a $ 70.00 convenience fee. What a rip off. Talk about price gouging.
Update. I received a $70.00 credit on my cc. They obviously care about feedback. I commend them on their attention to detail and making the moral choice in the form of a refund.

This company owes me a $185 refund. I have made numerous calls and spent 30 min on the phone. The company blamed the hotel but the hotel did not charge them. I am now in need of waiting another 7 days for an email response. I will never book through them again!

This company is a scam, they make it look like you are booking directly through the hotel website and charge you so much more. I tried to cancel my reservation and they charged my card even though I was 3 days from my arrival date.

WIth the added fees that the hotel charges after your stay it ends up being more expensive when compared to other hotel reservation sites. Very disappointed. GetARoom needs to let the buyer know the full expected price upfront so that people know not to bother clicking on the link if someone else is truly offering a cheaper stay!

I booked this afternoon (10/30) and then needed to cancel (funeral arrangements for family coming in for recent death in the family). Only then did I find that the room I thought was booked through the hotel website was actually thru getaroom.com and the cancellation was only allowed prior to 5 pm on 10/30. Hilton/Hampton cannot help me. Isn't there some way this room can be cancelled. It is for 11/3-4, which should be plenty of time. I have NEVER seen a site that you had to cancel within 4-5 hours or pay full price penalty. Please help!

Did not like the fact when on last page after putting payment information in comes back and says sorry that room is already gone! And you have to start all over and comes back at a higher price.
Booking was easy, but there is no option to put in notes or special requests. Im bringing 2 dogs but ended up calling the hotel instead of using the web page booking system... 40 minutes on the phone later, Im booked.
We booked thru getaroom and even with permission from the hotel to refund our money for 2 additional nights, getaroom refused to refund it. Their agent didn't do the appropriate paper work and we paid the price. We are out $542.06 because their agent didn't take ownership and I have worked on this issue for 30 days and have now given up. Don't deal with them or Expedia, Hotels, Booking or any other sites they may own. Expedia seems to own all of them.

Reserved a room. Over a week later the hotel still did not have my reservation. This was after calling customer service for assistance and no resolution. Calling is a joke, no options for direct help, agents hang up on you, extreme hold times. Their site says to call if you attempt to check in and the hotel does not have your info, so you then have to wait half an hour on hold to *maybe* get help with another room while you are stranded?
Stay away! I tried to change my reservation and they are unable to provide me the change in writing... I felt that at a minimum I could speak to a supervisor and despite SEVERAL calls, this never occurred. Do not book with them... it will cost you much more than the dollars you saved in TIME (and undoubtedly they will keep your money. Really awful organization.
I put a star because there isn't a zero stars option. Everyone can get a room a lot cheaper than by using this site.The price showed at the beginning was not even close to the checkout price. I tried to call 5 minutes later to cancel, but their policies would not allowed.

Actually, you did not give me a solution. You stated to me over the phone that you would be issuing a refund. However, when it was never issued, I called again and was told that this problem had been resolved. No further action would be taken. I stand by my initial review, this this place is a SCAM. Do not waste your time or money here.

Booked two hotel rooms for my boss. Both rooms appeared on the credit card (Perfect). Then I get the credit card bill and there is a separate "Booking Charge" which was more than the two rooms put together. Not customer service line to talk to someone. If you are not calling to make a new reservation, the automated call hangs up on you. Don't waste your time, you will end up paying more money.

For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
