Some people just dont see they are wasting money? Buy a game return it within a week or two for less than half the price... well anyway their website was not so great didnt find what i was looking for.
Bought a gaming monitor November 2021, they shipped a broken monitor to me, so I send it back and during December they claim it'll be there first week of January. It is now Jan 27th 2022, my order had been cancelled three times with no explanation. Every time I call I'm told to "just be patient and wait" but I've been waiting to get a functional monitor since November. Honestly with the way customer service has been handling me, I feel like I never wanna shop from GameStop again. Don't be like me, do yourselves a favor and shop elsewhere.
Alright so if you want to do a trade-in for store credit, DON'T go here. I traded in like 10 ps2 games and got $14. They're pretty understanding on everything else though, and shipping is pretty quick. I do suggest getting the warranty if you get anything pre-owned, which is actually really helpful. Customer service is great.
I only stop by once a year for my yearly Pokemon game. When I walked into the store, I felt a sense of familiarity due to the entire selection in the store. A giant Snorlax plush, Pokemon-related items, anime stuff, you name it. Guys are always lax yet well-informed and helpful. Honest too.
I made an online order, filled in the delivery address & paid for next day delivery. The item never came at all. They said i had to give them 3-5 days to see where it had gone. They completely ignored my delivery address request, printing my billing address for despatch. Eventually given a refund 2wks later. No apology! Ended up buying the item in their store for £5 more than advertised. Will NOT be shopping there again!
I have never had an issue with GameStop in any way! We are a family of gamers and by far they are the best option for values! As well as the fact that they have a reward system for their members which is nice!
GameStop is great because you can find pretty much everything you could ever need to start gaming on whatever kind of system you want. The staff is very helpful and will help you to pick out the best consoles and games for your preferences.
This is a great gift card for tween or teenage boys. I love that it can be used online or in stores. My boys used the card to buy Xbox points from the Game Stop online store. The code we provided immediately upon purchase.
Don't bother ever preordering from this company online. They won't get it to you for at least a week or two after its release which completely eliminates the need to pre order as the store will probably have what you need or just goto bestbuy as they will be on time at least. Customer service is awful too, they are almost as bad as talking to an AI chat bot which honestly may have been better and easier to deal with.
I ordered the Nintendo Switch Bundle on Cyber Monday, with a $50 dollar Gamestop giftcard, and a supposed $35 eShop card. The gift card didn't work when I placed my order online. It was valid, but was not applied to the final cost in my cart. I tried 4 times. How can a company in 2018, have a website where gift cards don't work right? I had to wait on hold for over an hour. I was told that I couldn't cancel my order, or be refunded the $50 that I was overcharged. To add insult to injury, "upon reviewing your order, this order did not include a $35 eShop credit". Worst company ever. Gamestop loses another customer, but they don't care anyway. Take your business elsewhere, or risk being ripped-off.
Good company service, bad sale guidelines. The sales reps have always been nice, but insist on ripping you off. They don't check their games to see if they work, and instead offer you a warranty that YOU pay for if they don't work. I only go here for ASAP game needs. If I can wait and order a 50$ game at game stop online for 30$ that's guaranteed to work, I always will.
I've never ordered a game off of GameStop mostly because I can get the games I want at a cheaper price on EBay or Amazon plus with a fraction of the cost for shipping.
I do my business elsewhere. But I like having an idea of what my games would cost if I traded them in. So that's a cool tool to have.
I'm being brutally honest but sorry GameStop. You charge too much for some preowned games and even shipping is ridiculous. I'll always buy my games at EBay or Amazon.
Doesn't matter about using GameStop to get "points" it takes years to get a small prize with those points unless you're rich and can afford to buy games from them all the time, which I can't.
Order three games on 11/16 as part of their buy 2 get 1 free promo. On 11/17 I get an email saying the free game is out of stock and has been cancelled. But don't worry "you haven't been charged" lol. So I go cancel the pick up in store game. The 3rd game however was shipped. Status has showed awaiting carrier pick up for over 2 weeks. I've called twice and still can't get my game or a refund. This company is a joke and I can't wait for their inevitable bankruptcy!
I placed an order online, and realized within 10 minutes that I could get the game much cheaper elsewhere. The online help center boasts about the ability to cancel orders (which was non-existent on their page). Fine, I call their help center to cancel since I could not figure it out myself. After sitting on the phone (on hold) for over 45 minutes, the representative says that "the order cannot be cancelled, as it has already been prepared for shipment (at 8pm on a Thursday night). Bull crap! The order had been placed only 1 hour prior and was still pending authorization! I called Paypal and cancelled the charge myself. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy anything here again, nor step foot in one of their stores. The fact of the matter was, they had the ability to cancel but would rather get their $30 transaction than cancel the order and keep a customer for the future.
As an enjoyer of video games (who isn't) i love my merch and will basically buy anything with a zelda logo, game stop has a lot of the things i love or have loved and since i shop in-store the only real problem i could see is them running out of a particular thing, its not they're fault though. For example Pokemon cards, i love Pokemon cards, but if i want new release ones, i have to pre order or go to the store a minute before it opens and be disappointed. I'll enjoy Pokemon until i die, but side note; people have no restraint when it comes to Pokemon and will rip the joy away from kids, i will never buy so much of something that kids wont be able to have and get them, they deserve it more than adults, or at least a chance to get it.
Misleading ads, product reviews, and the worst trade in rates
Online orders are a joke, sending out defective products and can't even get a simple return out of the $#*!s
Poorly run, and they hire morons to stack the deck
Got a $50.00 GC to Gamestop for Christmas. On the night of the 26th, went to their website to get the digital code for RD2. Used the GC and charged the balance to my CC. No download code ever came. Called customer service in the morning, spoke to some Indian lady for 30 minutes. Said she had to fill out a form and I would receive a call and my digital code within 24 hours. Call never came, so I called this early afternoon. Different agent, same answer. I have to fill out a form, but you will receive a call with a code in 24 hours. Horrible customer service experience. Told them they could keep their 50 dollar GC, just wanted my money back on my card. Should have sold the card for 40.00 dollars and went to Amazon to shop. Won't be back again. My advice is stay away unless you love speaking to someone you can barely understand and you will get the run around if something does go wrong with your order.
Three times now I have ordered game codes at the request of my son, and the have always been delivered within the hour. No problems at all. I also love the fact that they have pre-owned games. I often order them for gifts for my children, and have never had a problem with any of them. Great way to save money,
Their customer service personnel lie to customers in order to maintain your money. They will tell you that the item is in stock and then lie to you for weeks, to then tell you that it is out of stock. This occurred in the middle of Christmas, which after speaking with 4 employees, and 1 supervisor Toney in a period of 3 weeks, all which told me that the item was in stock, and that everything was okay. After the 3 weeks of waiting, one worker says oh the item is out of stock and we will give you your money back if your want. That could have been said the first week of contact and allowed me time to purchase it elsewhere. From now on I will boycott all game stops, I will go out of my way to purchase from the competition. They don't have the decency to even respond to emails, or to follow through when they tell you they will email you. Gamestop online is garbage.
Missing pre-order bonus (patches). Website previously said bonus would be sent with item, but now says must be picked up in-store while supplies last. Local store no longer has any patches, and said they weren't even sent enough for the people who pre-ordered in store.
GameStop has a rating of 2 stars from 549 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with GameStop most frequently mention customer service, next day and business days. GameStop ranks 930th among Games sites.
