I love this site, but I really love the store. I turn to Fry's for all my odds and ends electronics needs and am never disappointed.
I go there here and there it's a fun store to go too and they have everything you need as in electronics and a little of other things
Worst customer service ever. Don't purchase anything from this store (******* N Fwy Service Rd, Houston, TX *******) - especially not any service plan or extended warranty. It's not just this store either - my sister has problems with the one on the south side of Houston. My issue - Laptop started having problems; took it to Fry's 9 am Saturday morning. (Where I had purchased the laptop & extended service plan.) James Hammond was the service rep; said it would take about 2 hours to repair & he'd call me. After 1:30 pm, I called for an update - James was at lunch. James finally called back after 4:30 pm. Said laptop had hard drive problem; he spoke to his manager & his manager would replace the hard drive on Sunday; it would definitely be available for me to pick up on Sunday. Sunday at 11:30 am I call & James' manager isn't scheduled to work Sunday (so obviously James didn't speak with him). Monday afternoon James calls and says my laptop is ready to be picked up. Hard drive was replaced but they couldn't get any data off it. I ask if I can have the old (defective) hard drive back, to try to get data off of it. James says he'll ask and will call me back. Tuesday he calls and says they can't let me have the defective drive as they have to send it in. I say that I'm willing to pay for the new drive if they'll let me take the old one, and then by Saturday I'll bring that old one back in so they can send it off, and they just need to give me the refund then. I ask if that will work. James' attitude changes completely and says,"So now you just come along and ask for a refund of the new hard drive and the labor to replace it." He's accusing me of trying to pull a fast one! I'm just trying to guarantee to them that I'll bring the defective drive back by Saturday. I've never had anyone speak to me like that, and will never ever purchase anything there again.
The sell associate doesn't have customer relation. She made a mistake but did not say sorry. As if it's my fault.
Bought security cams and paid them to install the cams. Everything was fine until one of the cameras was loose and it slowly pointed down to ground just a couple weeks later. There was no phone number listed for installation/in home service to call so I had to call the main number. No one picked up the phone for over 10 minutes so I made a trip to the store. Talked to one of the service guy who took forever to put in my request for an in home service. Asked him to schedule an appointment for me but he said they will call because installation team and in home service team are separate and in home service team will be the one to call me to schedule an appointment. Almost 2 weeks, no one call so I had to restart with calling the main number again. Finally got a hold of a manager and he set my appointment to be the first one of the day between 8-10a.m. He said that the CS I spoke to in person should have scheduled an appointment for me. Anyway, waited all morning and not one person called to let me know if they're gonna be late or whatever. Had to go thru the main number again and was on hold for more than 10 minutes for customer service. Got the same guy that did my request in person on the phone and he said he will research and call me back. What!? I told him to let me speak to a manager, he went uhm, ah, the manager just stepped out. So I told him to get a hold of their installation people and call me immediately to give me a time frame. He said he will. Thirty minutes gone by, no one called. Finally CS called back and said my appointment was between 10 and 2p.m. Again, bad communications, bad customer service, bad everything. This will be the last time I will ever buy any of their service again.
Made an order last week. When we tried to submit the order there was an error. We tried changing our billing info and resubmitting it a bunch of times and it just kept erroring out. The next morning we were surprised with the fact that each of our clicks had generated a hold on our bank account for the amount of our desired purchase.
Naturally we were alarmed at the prospect of having 18 items delivered so we called the company. The representative had poor english and possibly even worse training. He said that he couldnt find an order and had no idea why our account had been charged over $400.00. He suggested that we call our bank because it was obviously a bank problem and had nothing to do with them. I knew this was a load of crap because I was employed by a bank a few years ago. Regardless of our lack of help we waited it out and a few days later the holds all dropped off.
We still wanted the item so on Sunday I put in the order for one. There was no error this time. Monday came and the hold was on the account. Tuesday came around and the hold dropped off without the account being charged. I had received no email for the order. When we had no progress on Wednesday I went ahead and ordered the item off another site, having given Fry's two chances at my business. I declined to call them as the call on the previous order attempt had been a giant waste of time.
Sure enough, with the order I made on Wednesday night having successfully processed immediately, Thursday morning saw a charge show up from Fry's for the item. 48 hours after the hold dropped off the account. 3.5 days after I made the order. And I still haven't gotten an order confirmation email...

Great in store deals if you have one near you but the online stuff can be beat
Fry's has a great selection of Computers and accessories, and often reasonable prices. HOWEVER, they seem to do things in an assembly line style. To pay for my products, I have stood in a line of up to 25 other people waiting for them to check us all out. The first two people in the line can see how many employees are working the registers. The rest of the long line of counters has been hidden by display cases, so you cannot see the employees. I don't know about other people, but it really ticks me off to see that many people waiting in a very slow line that does not seem to move at all, and I have waited as much as 30 minutes for it to be my turn to check out. That is terrible service.
Also, at Fry's, though they have many employees to help the customers looking for products, if you are not a young male dressed in Professional Attire and appear to have a lot of money, the employees will often look right through you, and shine you on when you have the terrible audacity to ask them questions. I am an older women who wears casual dress. I am very smart, and that is how I look. It is quite insulting to repeatedly ask an employee of a store where to find a product, and as they are walking away and looking back at you over their shoulder, they shout out: "You can find that T. V. Antenna on aisle" whatever. There are numerous employees at Fry's quite willing to ignore you. It may cost less to shop at Fry's, but not only have I been treated dismissively and with disrespect, but then, I was left waiting almost a half an hour for the check-out employee to finally serve me. This gave me more time than I needed to decide I would not ever return to Fry's.
In deep contrast, though STAPLES does not hire enough employees to help the customer, when you can finally find an employee to serve you, I have ALWAYS been treated with courtesy, friendliness and respect. The clerks are kind people, and I would rather pay extra money to be treated almost as a family member as opposed to going to Fry's where they seem to think it is O. K. to treat ANYONE as though they were from skid row.
STAPLES is one of my favorite stores! They usually have on hand, (in the store), almost everything to stock my office. Sometimes the prices are fairly high as compared to Fry's Electronics, but STAPLES is much nearer to home than other places.

Ordered items on line on early Black Friday 2017. Received an email not to go to the store yet "Please do not go to the store yet! This email is a confirmation that your order has been received. You will receive a confirmation e-mail within 20 minutes* indicating whether or not the item(s) you have requested have been located and set aside for you at the Computer department of the store that you selected."
Waited for the whole day, no email, checked status "In Process"... Saturday no email, checked status "In Process". Checked status on Sunday "Order Expired". How did this happen when I never even received an email to let me know it is ready for pickup? Went to the store (11/26/17 9:00am) and the lady Supervisor said that a lot of people had the same experience and they cannot do something about it bec it was ordered on Black Friday and I could not get the same price anymore and that I should have went there on Friday? The guy in black shirt also said that I should have went there on Friday and I should have used my common sense - WHAT? I don't know what the Fry's meaning of common sense is. Now I am the one with no common sense - look at the email - it should have said "go to the store if you have not received the email within 20mins? I have been checking the status that is why I already went to the store to check but now they are saying I should have went there on Black Friday - what is the point of going there on Black Friday if you already ordered online? There are no apologies and I felt like it is my fault for ordering Frys OnLine - very, very bad Customer Service and very very rude people. Fry's you ruined my Thanksgiving shopping and this experience is something I will never ever forget during Black Fridays! I think the guy in black shirt was right, I should have used my common sense, I should have not bought anything from Frys at all, I should have known better now its my fault. What a Customer Service. To all who experienced the same, I encourage you to pls write down your bad experiences with this company and I hope FRYs would improve their Customer Service and I hope they educate their personnel to learn how to communicate and humanly treat their customers.

Answer: I used to shop at Fry's when I was in the United States and I now live in China and have actually visited a factory where some of the Beats products are manufactured. Fry's products are all genuine products. During my 5+ years of shopping at Fry's, they have always given me excellent service and refunded my purchase price if ever I needed to make a return. If want FAKE products then try a famous auction web site, some no-name web sites with lots of bad English grammar and too-good-to-be-true prices shipped from Asia. Alternatively, you could book a flight to Shenzhen, China and I could introduce you to many Beats counterfeits. Fry's is a great place to shop and I highly recommend them for good price and quality products. I hope you enjoy your new Beats headphones when you finally get them.
