After reading some of the reviews I think I'm somewhat lucky that I saw this erroneous charge of 12.97 on my statement and I called them and they said I signed up for this when I did an online purchase from Brookstone, but until now I have no idea what they are talking about. I'm a stickler about this kind of thing so they did an excellent job hiding what it is your are signing up for! They do send you a confirmation email, however when you get an email from them, which I did, you ignore it because you are not expecting it so that's how they get past the legalities in my opinion. Unfortunately they got me twice, the 1st one I thought it had to do with Christmas shopping because it was a Dec charge and I thought it was a gift. So I lost 25.94 before I realized what was happening. I will post this to my friends on Facebook. Pass the word along so people know about this!

I too saw the $10 offer and clicked on it. I read the "fine print" which alerted me of a monthly fee of around $13. I used the site for all our Christmas shopping and some home remodelling and décor. I kept it for 2 months and got checks for over $350. The "work" I had to do in order to get shipping rebates took a couple minutes and the ability to follow simple directions. I dealt with customer service twice and got the answers I needed both times. All of these 1 star "SCAM" reviews are from people who are quick to click and unable to follow/read the terms. If you have a lot of shopping or even one major purchase Freeshipping.com is well worth it. I am about to join again for the 7 day trial period for just one large purchase. If I end up forgetting to cancel on time that is MY FAULT NOT theirs.

So sad that I signed up when purchasing flowers for a funeral only to think that if I did I would be receiving my "shipping cost" reimbursed. Should have know when it wasn't discounted immediately and instead was asked to send info in and within 6 weeks I would see voucher or check. I waited 2 months and nothing. Emailed them and they gave me the excuse that they sent it off that week. I then continued to wait another month and emailed yet again and this is the BS they sent me. Don't plan on ever seeing my check.

I don't know how I ended up with this service through amazon. I thought it was a free shipping service. Didn't know anything about month; y subscription. Just don't bother to use it and pay the actual shipping cost when you buy something. It will ended up saving money if you are infrequent online shopper.

Absolute scam!

Absolute scam! Does not work. I signed up for a free 30 day trial. At the first day made a purchase thought their web site and claimed the shipping refunds, as they advertise you should do. 30 days ( 4 weeks) past by, I did not get anything they promised! I canceled my membership. Garbage website.

I just got off the phone with my bank. A representative from my bank and I called this company to ask some questions about some reccurring payments on my account. Apparently, almost 9 months ago, I purchased something and this site offered free shipping. It wasnt made clear to me that you had to opt out of the service (or that I had even joined), or you would be charged a monthly fee. This went pretty much unnoticed the entire time today.
I dont remember what I purchased, but im sure i paid for it three times over with the frees this company charged me. The representative for this website apologized and told me they had a strict no refund policy, then proceeded to cancel my account. This is a SCAM. A good one! I check my bank records every month. This company slipped by me because they charge your account on irregular dates. DO NOT USE THIS SITE! And in the future, Just Pay The Shipping cost. There is no such thing as free.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS! They lead you to believe that it is a free service, do not tell you that you are in a trial period after signing up, and then charge you a $13 membership fee after 14 days... what? Not sure how they are still in business because what they are doing is so illegal. You can't just charge someone with no warning. Thank god I frequently check my bank account, otherwise I likely would have ended up like some of these other people who have been getting charged for months without knowing! Totally crazy. I used their online chat feature to explain my frustrations and the guy was SO RUDE. "Friendly" customer service MY $#*!! Avoid, avoid, avoid. Please do not give these people your account information!

I used to work for them, here's how to get all your money back

1) Call freeshipping.com

2) Have the rep locate your account

3) Say you want to cancel and have all the fees they charged you refunded please

4) Reps are technically supposed to counter you with an offer to refund less money but for minimum wage very few reps bother

5) You'll get a confirmation email and your refund will process in 3-5 business days

They are a legit company and if you're willing to submit your reciepts to them and shop mostly online you could easily make your money back in rebates.

Please be nice to the reps, it's not their fault you put your credit card info into a strange website you didn't understand.

Ordered some items from Penny's. Needed the items expedite shipped. Never requested a subscription to their service. I could not put in the expedited shipping only the free shipping. I now have had my account debited three times for $12.95 for a subscription to their service. Have contacted them four times to stop it and they refuse. Next step is an attorney. Should have a zero.

If you shop online, but are not a frequent shopper, this is not for you. This company is not upfront about it's charges. They need update their site, because it looks super sketchy and they need to post, up front, how much this service costs. Many sites depend on you not reading the Terms of Use to get you to sign up for something. While they may be an excellent service for someone who purchases a lot online, they would not be helpful the casual shopper and the monthly costs will outweigh the benefits. Their marketing practices do not reflect reputable business practices. Their reviews on this site would be a lot better if they employed transparency.

I would have given them zero stars but that wasn't an option. What this company likes to do is kick you out of your account once you have earned any large amount of cash back. You would think that a company that charges 13 dollars a month would be ran better. And when you contact customer service it might take up to 6 days to get a reply! They don't deserve to be in business! And i only had multiple accounts because they pull the same garbage the first time i had an account!

Since I have no recollection of joining a membership to this scam, I neglected to read all the revealing reviews. I regularly check my VISA bill, but totally neglected to question 5 charges for memberships in Freeshipping@$12.97 a month and Bedford Fair for $14.95 a month. Dec. Had charges from both! I never received an e mail or any other form of confirmation of my signing up or of rules or payments for membership. I never placed an order and received a rebate check of 8.99 out of nearly $60 in payments. Is there no recourse for my losses?

Paid the trial membership, made one purchase and the very next day they decided to cancel my membership for no reason. Guess my first purchase was to high for their 10% cash back. Funny thing is they send me an email to sign in to claim my $60 rebate, but they deactivated my account, so can't even sign in. A bunch of BS, just wasted my time.

Have to give Freeshipping's support team credit. They reached out to me and reinstated my membership. They just noted there was some confusion on their end. Looking forward to continuing my business with them.

They are such fraudsters that they actually promise you rebates but never give any and on top of it charge you for $12.97 USD and do not refund. I did not use their service or get any rebate but got charged $18.97 CAD on my credit card which is frustrating. They need to be reported to BBB.

When my husband realized I was paying my credit card bills without reconciling I had to start. Right off I found a charge I didn't recognize. It was freeshipping.com. When I called them about it the woman started asking for a lot more personal information. I halted the interview and asked that the (almost) $100 charge be removed. Her attitude was flippant. I hadn't cancelled according to the terms of the agreement so there would be no refund. I didn't even know I'd signed up! She said it was back in Oct of 2009! So I'd been making payments to this outfit for almost 9 years and didn't even realize it! This is a really good lesson in reconciling credit card statements. At first freeshipping.com challenged the credit my card gave me but eventually I prevailed.

Today as I checked the internet for the most recent charges on my credit card account, I was surprised to see a charge from freeshipping.com. Don't remember ordering anything from them. So, I checked it out and found that un-beknown to me "Wind and Weather" had a free shipping offer button to click on when I ordered a lawn spinner. Little did I know when I "clicked" what irritating trouble it would bring. To make a long story short, I demanded freeshipping.com remove the fraudulent charge of $12 from my charge card account. I also communicated with "Wind and Weather", telling them to get freeshipping offers OFF their website because it was fraudulent and deceitful! I will not shop on any website/catalog that has freeshipping.com buttons!

I do not remember when I clic to activate Freeshipping.com, probably went I ordered something on the web. This company should at least send us and invoice every month when they charged us, but no, they are doing it in silence, so you cannot realized that you have been hacked by this not even called a company. Yes a SCAM Company and some peoples a proud to work for them. This is a fraud and people get rich by doing this and they also build nice Website to promote hacking in front of everyone. And what about the seller or website who authorized them to do so. They are also guilty. I had not choice to clic at least on one star, but for me it is 0 star

I was a user of FreeShipping.com. I was a member for over 8 years at $13/mo. I LOVED using their site. Every month I received a check and only once was it less than $13. Most of the time, I received $30-80/month. It is so easy to get 10% back when you make a purchase. It automatically happens when you go to the store through their site. IF you have to pay shipping, then you fill out an online form and send their rebate dept. the info. It takes less than 5 min and I hate paying shipping, so was always well worth it. The only reason I am no longer a member as of 2 months ago is because I have cut back on my online buying, and since they raised their monthly price to $20 now, I would need to purchase at least $200/mo online to break even. I probably do that much of the time, but may not in the future. They don't have all of the online only sites, but do have many and just about all of the brick and mortar stores as well. There is no contract, so I say join and try it out. If you don't at least break even after a couple of months, then discontinue.

I am so surprised by all the negative reviews! Yes, you have to pay a monthly fee, but since signing up a few months ago, I have come out WAY ahead! No, I do not work for them, or have any affiliation with them other than being a customer. It's so easy to shop through them. All you have to do is start at Freeshipping.com, click on the store link on their site, and when you purchase through that store, they are made aware of it. If you have to pay shipping, you will need to send some of the info to Freeshipping, but it only takes a minute to do that. So far, I have received 2 checks from them, and it has paid for my monthly fee plus another 4 months! Follow the directions... you will have no problems & I am sure you will come out ahead. You can stop using them at any time. I give them an A+.

I signed up when I was offered $10 BONUS check for trying freeshipping.com out for 7 day trial. My card was charged $1.97 but I never received my $10 check. Before I canceled the website said my check will be mailed out on the 2/15. Now still no check. Sent over 9 emails to customer service with same generic "send the rebate form" answer.
I have no rebate form because this was a sign up bonus. Where is my $10 check? Total liars, lazy customer service people who don't even read the email. Complete joke of a business

Random $12.97 monthly charges appeared on my credit card. I definitely never signed up for this, nor did I ever receive a "welcome email." This will be reported to the BBB as I am clearly not the first to have this experience unless all such charges are refunded back to me. I most definitely never received any kind of benefit from this alleged "sign up."
