Refund
February 1, 2024

In December, 2023 on reviewing my bank account I noticed withdrawals from freeshipping.com. I called the company 1/2/2024 and was told the account was in my husbands name. I canceled the account and since there had been no activity, they agreed to give a refund of $19.00 for 4 months, totalling $76.00. I could not ask my husband since he was seriously ill and in a coma.
I called again on 1/15/2024 after never seeing refund in my account. I was told the refund was issued to account XXXX. I informed the rep that that card was no longer active due to fraudulent activity. I was told that the refund would go back to the bank account it was associated with. I was told it takes 7 business days to process and then recheck my bank account. Still no refund found. I called my bank and inquired about refunds going to account. The bank even asked if these charges were fraudulent. I didn't feel it was fraudulent since they canceled the account.
On 1/30/2024, I called free shipping and was told the refund was issued to account XXXX. I informed them that I called bank again, was told if a card is canceled or blocked the refund would not be accepted. I was told then that I would have to pursue a refund from my bank and that someone from the Escalation Team will be contacting me within 72 hours. Today is day 2 and no contact has been made. In the meantime, I checked my bank records further and discovered charges starting in 5/2024
And continuing til 12/2023. The May charge was for $2 and other charges were for $19.00 each month. Now I am wondering if the charges were fraudulent, was the $2.00 charge a test to see if the charge would be questioned.
Today, 2/1/2024 I called free shipping (a different number). A report was again filed and was told that a check would be issued and mailed. It would take 7 days to process and that I would be getting a call from the Escalation Team within 72 hours.
I was also told that the $2.00 fee for May was a one week trial fee. My husband is still in the hospital and now awake. He did not recognize free shipping when asked. I wonder still if this was fraud since my husband does not have a business or does he ship many things that would warrant an account with free shipping.
Dispite all the calls that were made the representatives were polite and courtesy, plus you dealt with a live person on the phone not a chat room.

You don't normally get "something" for "nothing" …
July 1, 2021

I'd have to agree with "Gabrielle B's" review.
But first - I would apologize for this length however, I won't. I'm so very sick & tired of fake reviews that create a false analysis & present skewed data resulting in a forged opinion of almost every product or service we spend money on. I'm even MORE DISGUSTED however, by written reviews from people who don't deserve to write a review in the first place. (You'll need to follow along with me here to understand what that means) …
Second, My disclosure: I was in no way, form, or manner asked to or compensated for writing this review, nor am I in anyway otherwise associated with FreeShipping.com.(In fact, you're forced to "certify" this before posting a review). Just a normal, middle-age, working, living, breathing, simple human being.
‼This review will offend you if, 1 You are not particularly "technicality literate". In that case, I DO offer my apology in advance; you're just getting a free mini-lesson for future internet surfing; especially if you're making purchases. HOWEVER - you still cannot use "technically illiterate" as an excuse for not reading the fine print, or simply not reading/listening/viewing at all. (Because FreeShipping.com does clearly state & inform of its services; even courteously going so far as offering an accessible video to watch/listen to).
Or 2 You will go to your grave ‍ denying it but - you really are an individual who tries to get something for nothing. You play the stealthy "I didn't know" game when in reality, you really did know what you were doing or getting into (or had an "idea of" what was going on) but, you justify your actions because you intentionally didn't read the fine print. Or, you did but figured "no one will know", so you can play stupid when you get the charge to your card or account for services that were clearly stated you'd be charged for, hoping you'd still get away with getting that "10% CashBack", as if it were a charity service or, just a free service giving you free money for doing absolutely nothing. (Shame on you - your actions are the actions that ruin it for people who do right or really are deserving of the generosity of others [which can be anything but in this case - true reviews to make an informed decision.])
For an individual who makes frequent purchases online, or especially one who purchases for a family, I can see this being very valuablefor sure! And I did a little math - it can add up quickly - definitely paying for itself MANY times over. But I don't really do enough online-buying to make it worth while for me. NOTE - I could only come to that conclusion by taking a moment to Stop, Look, Listen. Don't believe (as it is obvious many 1 & 2 "reviewers" did) your getting, or think your going to get away with getting, "something for nothing". Seriously!?

Stop for a moment before clicking ANYTHING on ANY site because (first clue Watson!) if you look closely at the FreeShipping.com link you clicked on you will see "FreeShipping" & then ". COM" in tiny font making it obvious your browser is going to take you to a different URL.

If you missed that part then, (and I may need to again apologize because, well - if you are able to use the internet or surf the Web in any way - I confidently assumed the recommendations that follow were just - common sense?), anytime a new page opens - ask yourself "was I expecting that to happen"?, or look at the web address, look at the page that opens, scroll to see what's on that page, read (even fine print) what's on that page, does it look or read like anything on the prior site? You can also check your browser "tabs" (YES! Even on a mobile site - all can do this!) I see if you've actually navigated away for the original site. Etc, etc.

If at any time you even "think" you're not where you were or thought you were going; GO BACK, start over, close the page, or close your browser altogether & start from the beginning. (If you're seeing the FreeShipping.com link then your purchase has already been made so you can always go to your order!). In this case, you even get the accessible courtesy of watching the video, listening to what is said. If all else fails - listen to your gut, and if what you see/hear appears in ANY way sketchy then - shut it down, leave the page, close your browser,
OR - Do some research for goodness sake.

‼YES‼ - I clicked the FreeShipping(. Com) link from the merchants' purchase-confirmation page‼
‼Yes‼ - they are good marketers, or have great advertisers; at first glance I thought it was related to the merchant.

But -
Come on! - just like the grocers SALE‼ signs or, BOGO offers at the shoe store or, Rewards from Kohl's or Walgreens or, Points at Ulta or on my credit card purchases - you get lured in one way or another! I don't see anywhere in which FreeShipping.com does anything that any other brick-and-mortar, small business owner, or online merchant wouldn't do. That's what advertising & marketing does!

SEEING that it took me to a completely different URL, I read some information on the page. It was quite obvious it had nothing to do with the merchant I made my purchase from but, as most would be - I was intrigued. So, I read on, watched the video, and did a little research. If I made more purchases online this would be a great deal. But, I don't do enough so I didn't enter anymore information and I left the page. All in all this is really kinda brilliant - and I can see that this has the potential to be a great way to save and for retailers to retain customers. And, if you keep track of receipts (like for taxes) or orders like many people do, you can earn some real coin. If my shopping habits change in the future I will definitely keep this service in mind!

Tip for consumers:

Stop, look, listen and read.

Products used:

Through a merchant online purchase.

Great site, but only if you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!
March 31, 2020

This company has been in business for around 20 years. I don't believe that they could stay in business for that long if they were doing anything illegal. Especially to the extent that some people are claiming. I find it hard to believe that so many people say that they didn't know they were signing up for a service that charges a monthly fee. They ask you for your credit card information, what did you think they were asking that for? They clearly state that they will start billing you after the trial period ends. Okay, so that info isn't in huge, bold, black letters covering half the page but it isn't in such "small print" that you can't see it either. I just now signed up for the service after making a purchase on King Size. The box offering free shipping and a rebate popped up and I this time I decided to check it out. When it asked for my CC number I made sure to look for why it wanted that info considering that they were offering to give me free shipping and a rebate % on my purchase. It clearly stated that there was a 7 day trial period for $2 dollars and then a automatic monthly membership fee of about $13 after that. There was no trickery or scamming going on, just a business transaction that I had to pay attention to in order to benefit from it. I have decided to cancel my membership after just the one use and before the trial ends. Not because I find their service to be fraudulent in any way but rather because I don't shop online often enough to make it worthwhile for me and because I don't feel like doing all of the due diligence necessary to make it work for me. You have to make sure that you are shopping on a site that they have partnered with to begin with, which from what I understand means going to their site first, but in either case, once you have finished shopping and made your purchase and checked out you then have to fill out a form to request the free shipping and the rebate and attach "proof of purchase" such as a receipt, packing slip or order confirmation. This is pretty much standard practice for ANY rebate from ANY where for ANY thing. Then you either email or mail it all to freeshipping.com and wait for your rebate. Again pretty much standard practice. From what I can see after having read a little over 100 negative reviews it all boils down to this. People are upset because THEY didn't pay attention when THEY were plugging in their CC info. They didn't bother to read the (not really all that small) small print. They don't want to be bothered by all of the steps that they have to go through to collect any monies from the company. It seems that everyone is looking for a free shipping option where all that they have to do is point and lick a couple of times and that's it, it's all done for them. Freeshipping.com isn't that option. It takes a little bit of patience and paying attention and just a smidgen of actual work. I am honest enough to admit that I am basically just too LAZY to want to do even that small amount of work. I did it for this one order from King Size and it wasn't really all that hard once I figured out the process which is actually fairly easy if you just follow the instructions. I estimate (ball park figure) that I could probably save a couple of hundred bucks per year, even after the $156/yr in monthly membership fees but like I said I'm just too lazy to be bothered. That having been said however, for those people who are willing to put in a little bit of time, and who do enough online shopping, it is readily apparent that there is over $1,000 too be made/saved by using freeshipping.com. First by saving up to $10 in shipping costs/per order and second by getting a rebate of up to 10% on each purchase. You can get a rebate on shipping costs when you shop online, you can also get a shipping costs rebate if you have to return an item after you get it. Also you can apparently search the freeshipping.com website for local stores that have partnered with them and if you link your CC or Debit card to your freeshipping.com account then you can get a rebate when you use your linked card at that local store. Of course it's NOT automatic you still have to do your due diligence. Save your receipt and email or mail a copy of it along with the proper form from the website. Consider it like a part time job, do the work and get paid for the work. In this case your "wages" are in the form of rebates. At this time I have too much else going on in my life to want to spend time keeping track of my purchases and receipts both on and offline and which stores work with freeshipping.com and which don't (there are suspossedly over 1,000) and then fill out the rebate request forms and submit then them to get my money back rewards. I could use an extra $1,000+ bucks per year but it doesn't come without a little bit of effort on my part and I am too lazy/busy to put in even that tiny effort so I am going to give this a pass for now, although I might try it again in the future. My feeling is that if you don't get anything back from this sight it is probably because you didn't take the time to make sure that all of your t's were crossed and all of your i's were dotted. Do that and you can make/save some money. You just have to decide if the effort is worth the gain. If it's not for you then don't sign up and if you did sign up because you weren't paying attention to what you were doing when you started plugging in your card numbers then don't blame someone else for your mistake, just accept that you made a mistake and move on. Also pay more attention to what you are doing with your info in the future. I just can not believe that a company could possibly sign people up without them knowing or willing giving out their CC info and get away with it for over 20 years without being prosecuted and shut down for fraud. If you read the positive reviews you can see that it does work for the people who are paying attention and follow the instructions.

Appalling
January 18, 2020

I'll commence my review with the typical "if I could provide 0 stars I would."

Unbeknownst to myself, I had purchased an item for a family member on an unrelated site. After concluding my transaction, I was given the prompt to receive a $10 check if I filled out a survey for freeshipping.com. I had never done that before and let it be a lesson in ignorance to me. It did not appear to be a fraudulent attempt to steal personal or financial information. Be that as it may, the survey failed to tell me they were signing me up for a monthly $13 service. I didn't re-enter my credit card from the unrelated purchase, but it was obviously acquired through the other site. It took me two months to notice these monthly transactions occurred.

I called the company to investigate what these charges were for, for at the time I wasn't aware. It was then the phone representative told me it was their monthly service. I asked to be removed immediately, but I did not express anger. When that had been completed, she asked if there was anything additional I needed assistance with. I did not demand to receive the money back I had been despicably been deceived of. I inquired if it was possible. The representative played naive as to what I was asking about rather than blatantly say no. After playing along to these shenanigans by re-explaining my predicament, once again she failed to state no and just completely ignored my question in an awkward manner. $26 was not enough to get hostile with her about. However, this company's deception to apprehend individuals into paid memberships, coupled with the unprofessional/rude customer service makes this company disgraceful. After working 15 years in customer service and the medical field, I've never witnessed such monumental unprofessionalism and duplicity. It's appalling a company would implore such tactics. Call me ignorant for once doing something "too good to be true" (to reiterate, I did not provide the site my personal or financial information. It was the previous unrelated business that I made a purchase on). That doesn't negate the ethics of this company. I will make sure to force this detestable site in to basic conversation to inform all those I know how pathetic this company is. Business must be hopping to utilize these membership methods and customer service (or lack thereof).

FreeShipping works well, but you have to pay attention.
January 6, 2020

Really wanted to give them 3 1/2 stars, but mainly because of the complications involved.

You have to pay attention and understand their rules. If you do, you can make up to $1000 in cash back on purchases. However, you must realize you sign up to be billed $12.97/month. You don't get paid for at least a month after your purchase. You have to read the small print (like what they won't give you cash back for and that $1000 cash back is all you get in one year).

I did really well this year. I hit the limit and didn't earn any cash back to speak of for December (even though I spent quite a bit of money). I hadn't read the small print. I have to wait to use FreeShipping again until the end of this month.

But they did save me $1000 for the year. Plus some $40 in shipping charges. That was pretty amazing. My net earnings for 2019 (after deducting the FreeShipping.com fees) were $880.

You have to buy a lot of stuff on line to make money, since you are paying them $156 a year to use their services. Considering other cash back sites which usually pay around 2-4%, I think this is a fairly good return value.

You have to pay attention to what they tell you about each retailer you click through on their site. Once you select the retailer, you have to click on the "This retailer has cash back restrictions" and make sure what you are purchasing and how you are paying is allowed to earn cash back. For example, Macy's says: "Cash back is not available on the purchase or redemption of gift cards, Wedding Channel purchases, Apple products, mattresses or furniture." So if you buy an Apple product, or if you use a gift card to pay for your items, you won't get any cash back. Also most of the time you can't use external coupons and get cash back. However, in my experience if the vendor has some discount for the day listed on their website, that usually works. Each vendor is different, so you have to read that small print for each one of them.

Also, you need to read the small print for the website itself. At the bottom, on the home page, make sure you've read "How it Works" plus "Terms of Use" and "Terms of Service."

Make sure when you click through from the FreeShipping.com site that you don't go off on a tangent in your browser until you have completed the purchase. Try to do the purchase quickly. Also, some sites require you actually select the items you are purchasing right after you click through (though a lot of them let you set up the purchase ahead of time and then go to Freeshipping.com and then click through). Usually it's on the FreeShipping.com site though.

If you don't get an email from FreeShipping telling you you earned cash back (a lot of times it takes a day or so); if you've waited 7 days and you don't see it listed in your account under "Savings Center" then email them. Go to "Help" and click on "Where is My Cashback?".

They usually will answer in 24 hrs. I've always been fairly satisfied with their customer service. You can also call, but I find the email is clearer. They ask you to choose your click thru vendor date and time, and order number and total.

This service is not for the occasional shopper who wants cash back for a few items a month, since technically you pay them first. You do have to do some work, and be somewhat organized to be bothered with this.

If you are willing to spend the time and effort to use this service, you can make some money if you shop enough.

All You Complainers Are A JOKE! FREESHIPPING.COM A+
June 21, 2019

First off... I read the first page of the reviews & I can not, ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT believe the negative reviews! If you signed up with the "service" & ARE NOT LAZY TO READ HOW IT WORKS, The Terms/Agreement/Conditions & RULES, you would LOVE THIS SITE! Yea, they charge you a trial period for a couple dollars but whoopdeedooo! If you bought something under the trial say for $100 ONLINE BY CLICKING THEIR LINK FIRST so you then get transferred/forwarded to the store you are purchasing from, you'll get a MINIMUM %10 Ca$h Back Which = $10 (I have to explain this because half these negative reviewers are obviously completely brainless morons & dont know to spell as well) which pays for the trial & puts money back in your pocket in the end! Yes, AGAIN, you have to WAIT til the 15th of each month to RECEIVE **FREE** MONEY (a check like the one I got for OVER $420!) WHY WOULD YOU B**CH & COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT?... GETTING FREE MONEY YOU OTHERWISE WOULDN'T! I cant stand IGNORANT & ARROGANT PEOPLE BLAIMING A COMPANY THAT OFFERS YOU EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF INFO you need in order to receive, again... FREE MONEY! I personally do a lot of online shopping so paying $13/Mo. Is nothing when I receive over 10X that each month in CASH BACK! ($1,000 Cap per year I believe). So to all you jerkoffs who want to try to diminish & trash a PERFECTLY FINE company that in reality, is HELPING YOUR INCOMPETENT A$$ GET FREE MONEY by doing what you're already doing by shopping online, Read Read Read! (obviously if they dont offer the site you're shopping on, then find one that does! Or at the least, you can still claim a rebate to get reimbursed on some* shipping charges if you had any which I believe has a $10/cap on each purchase). Read the terms & conditions! This website CAN ABSOLUTELY NOT obtain any of your info, set you up with an account with your PERSONAL INFO ETC. ETC. ETC. & Charge you WITHOUT CONSENTING by PUTTING IN YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO (they dont know who the heck you are n' what your credit card number is) & ACCEPTING THE TERMS! YOU HAVE TO INPUT THE INFO WHICH MEANS YOU SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS! Geeez I'm so ticked off & furious... I just can't believe the negative reviews! Ridiculous! I feel better after this & I HOPE New Subscribers read this & not be put off or afraid by the other B. S. reviews!

They won't let you exit their sign-up pages. They seem to be malware.
December 24, 2018

I was ordering on eBay and at the end of my order freeshipping.com appeared and seemed to take over my computer. When they appeared they offered a $10.00 additional rebate on the purchase I just made. I had no way of knowing that I was not still on the eBay purchase site, so I clicked yes to the $10.00 rebate.

This was a BAD move. The next screens alarmed me and I tried to exit the site but nothing I did would let me exit. I could see that everything was designed to prevent me from escaping their site unless I gave them credit card information.

So, I exited the browser I was using (chrome), but when I tried to reopen chrome I didn't get the Chrome screen: there was just the same freeshipping screen I was trying to exit.

So, Chrome was disabled for me! I needed a functional browser so I closed Chrome and opened Safari. It was the damn-dist thing to see that when I opened Safari it was also blocked and the same freeshipping scam page appeared. I was really shaken and I tried to open Firefox, which I never use. There I found that the firefox site had changed so much I couldn't make it search, because I couldn't escape from thefirefox tutorials.

I tried rebooting the computer but the cursed freeshipping trap screen was still there, hanging on like an especially cursed leech.

My main concern at this point was that I had no way of telling if my order, for approx $99.50, had cleared. So I had to go to another computer to get a working browser.

By the way, I checked back later and the leech was still blocking my use of Chrome and Safari, however the next morning the leech was gone.

Now, after reading the other complaints I feel certain that I will see a charge on my credit card (frustratingly, I don't know how to look up my charges in real time, and I better learn).
Because I didn't ever enter my credit card info one can hope that they couldn't charge me, HOWEVER I had given my credit card information to pay the eBay bill JUST BEFORE the freeshipping screen grabbed my screen, so I fear, from others experiences that they illegally captured my credit card info from the eBay transaction.

Truly, the only way it could get worse than this is if the freeshipping malware/hack is a trojan horse that can erase my hard drive. Good luck to all the victims.

FANTASTIC Company!
January 27, 2017

I was shocked to see so many complaints about freeshipping.com, so I want to set the record straight. I have been a member for over five years and have nothing but praise and good things to say about the company. When I first joined, I was a little skeptical, but after the first year I was amazed with the amount of money I saved.

First, let me be clear about one thing. If you do not shop online frequently, a membership is not for you. For those who do shop online a lot, you will be very satisfied and excited, especially when the amount of rebates and cashback you receive will far exceed the cost of what you pay yearly in membership fees.

Some people think it is not worth their while to join because they feel most online retailers already offer free shipping. This is not true. Last year alone, most of the companies I ordered from made me pay for shipping. The rebates I received for the year were close to $500.00, the maximum amount freeshipping.com reimburses their members. This is not to mention the several hundred dollars in cashback I received for my purchases and the rebates I received on a few returns.

You are probably thinking that I spend loads of money and am a big spender, but actually, I am not; I only buy things that I need. In fact, most of my purchases were for items that were drastically reduced. In many cases, the shipping was more than the cost of the item. For instance, a company recently sent me a $10.00 code to be used on their site for anything I wanted. I saw this $35.00 athletic sweatshirt that was reduced to $11.00. After applying my $10.00 coupon, the top cost me $1.00. However, the shipping charge was $7.95. After applying for my freeshipping.com rebate, my total cost for the $35.00 sweatshirt was $1.00. I am a great shopper, do lots of research, and always wind up with the best deals. Then receiving a rebate for my shipping costs is an even better deal. Shop on EBAY and you will see what I mean. Many sellers charge ridiculous shipping fees and sell their products at low prices so they won't have to pay EBAY large percentage fees on their selling prices. So, you can buy something very cheap and get back a maximum of $10.00 on your shipping when you go through freeshipping.com.

People should not complain about freeshipping.com. The problem is that they fail to read the trial membership rules or forget to cancel. Of course, your credit card will be charged every month if you do not call and tell them you no longer want the service. Also, you need to read their policy regarding the processing of your rebate claims and cashback. It does take about six weeks to receive your check, and I have found that all of mine are always mailed to me on time. I rate the company "excellent' when it comes to being reimbursed in a timely manner.

I hope I have succeeded in changing the way some of you think about freeshipping.com. You can always call their toll free phone number if you have any questions (*******597). The reps are extremely personable and are there to help. On occasion, I call the corporate office and deal with Mike Procaccini, one of the nicest and most helpful employees. Mike is so knowledgeable and efficient. He really knows his stuff! I love freeshipping.com and hope to continue to be a loyal member for many years to come.
