I recently had to hassle them for TWO YEARS worth of charges that my father unknowingly made. I just found out they are charging his account AGAIN! I cannot believe any cc company would allow this company to use their services. Had to report them to amex FOR THE SECOND TIME. Unbelievable!
They charge monthly with very limited use. Read the negative reviews and terms of use which is hidden in the bottom of their website before you join.
Blacklist for life.
Hi Jieping, I apologize for the confusion you had regarding the membership fee. We do believe that it is clear that FreeShipping.com is a membership service. We list the charge 3 times prior to you being billed. It is first right next to the field where you enter your credit card number, again in the terms and conditions that you must agree to prior to signing up and lastly the membership fee can be found in the welcome email that you were sent upon signing up. If you were charged by us, please let me know and I would be happy to take care of this for you. You can email me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com. Thanks!
$15 cash back turns into $15 maybe but after they charge $2 for 7 day membership then another $13.99 per month after. Not worth it. Thanks for wasting my time
So I thought I was trying some coffee from Amora coffee, terrible btw. Amora charged me then 68$ a month for terrible coffee. I then go back to look at my statements from the holidays and notice a 12.97$ freeshipping.com charge. WTF! I never visited the site but they got me from the 1$ amora coffee trial and continued charging me. NEVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE!
Hi Megan,
I'd be happy to look into this further for you. I can certainly cancel and refund your account, I'm just unable to locate it using the information given above. Can you please contact me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com so I can get some more personal information from you in order to locate your account?
Thanks!
For months I have been trying to get replacement checks that I didn't receive or cash. I've sent mail through USPS, have emailed through their site and through their email. For MONTHS, I have been getting the run-around and have not received a response from anyone that knows what is going on. Honestly, I have a friend that is a reporter on Channel 5 FOX Atlanta and I am ready to ask her to turn it over to investigate this company. Many people have said the same thing! NIGHTMARE dealing with them.
SCAM! They are a bunch of crooks that just hope to take your money and not have to refund you for any of your shipping charges. They cancelled my account because I had had another account about a year ago that I cancelled during the trial period. I also had an account open for about 7 months in 2013 when I paid monthly membership fees, and as allowed by freeshipping.com policy I did file for rebates. I recently was offered another membership so I signed up again because for me the membership fee was worth getting a rebate on shipping costs. Just yesterday they cancelled my account, so when I called they said I was "misusing" their services; Well, I suppose if they are not making money off of me, that would not make them happy and it would be to their advantage to cancel my account. Just remember that the premise of such businesses is that they will make money off of those who shop only infrequently; If you shop a lot and file for rebates, then your account will get cancelled eventually because they are losing money on you.
I do apologize for any misunderstanding you had regarding a membership to Freeshipping.com. Our Terms of Use, that you agreed to when registering, clearly states that only one membership is allowed per household. Once a member cancels, they would have to have the original account reinstated. If you would like to contact us at customerservice@freeshipping.com we can be sure that all eligible claims are being processed. Thank you
I shop on eBay all the time and I was checking out and saw freeshipping rebates on all purchases. So I'm thinking wow with how much I shop on eBay and spend on shipping this will save me 100s! So I sign up and do the rebates. It says approved for the first couple weeks then just when i get charged for the 2nd month they all turned to declined. I call customer service and she reads my rebates and recommends sending proof again. I then asked her if ebay was even eligible for rebate returns and she said send proof again. I said you didn't answer my question and she said 1000s of stores qualify. I said you didn't answer my question and she said no even though ebay led you hear they're not eligible so I canceled my membership. Let this determine whether or not you should sign up for www.freeshipping.com.
I have been a member since 2009 and can't complain about one aspect of this company. Even though the membership fee has almost doubled since I first joined, it's been worth every penny because I save 2-3 times over that cost in a whole year. If you are not a frequent monthly shopper online, then I suggest this is not for you. It's quite comical to me to read the reviews claiming this is a scam. As I read some of them, what stood out the most to me is people are not READING all the details laid out. Don't blame the company for your choice to not READ and follow directions! Once you get the routine down, it's fantastic to see how much you save. And yes, the rebate checks do get mailed to you! I have kept record every year ( I have a whole system I follow to keep track of my savings) and know exactly how much I save. Kudos to you, FreeShipping because you have done nothing but improve over the years! And your helpful comments to those who are giving negative reviews, just shows how much class you have. I'll remain a faithful customer for years to come!
I bought a Christmas gift from Wal Mart on line in Dec 2014. This outfit said I signed up for their service at the same time. That is a lie. This is a scam and rip off operation.
Hi Tom, Please contact us at customerservice@freeshipping.com. We can check that your account is cancelled and refunded if applicable. Additionally maybe we can better explain how and when you registered.
Thank you
Alice
Freeshipping.com Customer Service
I really wanted to like this service. After making a purchase on Kohl's.com, I clicked on the advertisement that offered a $10 rebate on my recent purchase just for trying the service for 7 days after which I would be enrolled in the monthly service subscription. What they don't tell you up front is that the 7 day trial is not free, there is a fee. After seeing a pending charge for this service I contacted customer service. I was told that even though it doesn't say it up front in the description of the service, it is stated in the terms and conditions. Had I read through them I would have seen that a charge would be made. I have subscribed to many monthly subscription services and ALL of them let you know clearly-any and all- fees both in the general description of the service, as well as in the terms and conditions section you have to agree to. But the way they advertise the service it makes you think the 7 day trial is a free one. I was interested in subscribing but cancelled because I'm anticipating future problems with this company. Even though it was a small fee I wish there was a way to be refunded.
Hi Anthony,
I apologize for any inconvenience. The trial membership fee is listed on the registration form when you sign up, however I am happy to refund that for you.
Please contact me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com and reference Customer Loyalty #FS798.
Thanks,

We were getting charged $12.97 per month unknowingly until we closely checked our credit card statement. This charge was listed as "IC *FREESHIPPING.COM *******047 CT" We called our credit card company, Bank of America and they contacted the merchant. Come to find out, we had ordered Christmas cards from Current located in Colorado Springs CO *******. Somehow during that transaction, "FREESHIPPING" was signed up as a monthly subscription. We ended up paying for two months and finally got it canceled. CAVEAT EMPTOR. (Let the buyer beware)
Hi Bob, If you contact us at customerservice@freeshipping.com we will be happy to refund your two month's worth of membership fees if your bank did not already credit you, We can also explain our program and how you and when you registered.
Thank you!
Alice
I found this charge on my credit card. Family member had signed up and we hadn't used it- so the rep agreed to refund all my money. It worked very well.
Hi! Glad to hear our customer service team was able to assist you. Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any questions.
Thanks!
I have been a subscriber to this for over a year now. I have never ever felt as if it was a scam. The monthly fee is stated quite clearly before even signing up. If you follow the rules and submit the rebates as directed and shop using this site, it is quite beneficial. I have made well over the 12.97 a month fee for a profit of over 300.00 in a year, just shopping at where I normally shop, through their site. It is not hard, go shop, when you find what you want, then sign in to freeshipping.com and click on visit site... it is transferred. If you have a claim, then follow the instructions. I agree with another's post that people are just too fast on the trigger and want everything to be automatic, without even thinking about it. If you are looking for someone to just hold your hand and automatically give you something, then no, freeshipping is not for you. But if you are a smart shopper that can follow simple rules... you can make some big money back! It is up to the individual how much effort they want to put in to saving money.
Hi Deborah,
We really appreciate the kind words! Thanks so much for coming here and sharing your positive experience. Keep on shopping and saving!:)
Sincerely,
The FreeShipping.com Team
Using my card number & stealing money, Ask for refund, said they would refund then in the month of May they took money 3 times, these people are thieves!
Hi Pat,
We're sorry to hear about the confusion regarding our monthly membership fee. We can assure you all of our members have authorized the subscription charge and granted us permission to deduct the agreed upon $12.97 amount every month.
The $12.97 monthly fee is what our members pay to access our online savings benefits. We offer all new users a 7-day free trial, however, if the account is not cancelled within the trial period, the $12.97 charge is implemented to continue your access to our exclusive benefits. Details about the trial period and the monthly charge are located on the sign up page, in the welcome email each new member receives after completing the sign up process, and in the terms of use, which must be agreed to before successfully signing up with us.
We hope this clears up any misunderstanding about the fee you were charged! If you have any other questions, please contact help@freeshipping.com and reference this post for further assistance. Thank you!
Sincerely,
The FreeShipping.com Team
It is a scam. No aware i signed up. No confirmation, no renewal notice, no what so ever, terrible company with the goal of stealing money in stealth mode.
This company is a scammer. They have been fraudulently billing my credit card. The charges have been reversed. There are stiff penalties for mail fraud. Why not internet fraud?
Hi Thomas,
Glad to hear that your account has been refunded. If you weren't given the explanation on how you joined our program, please reach out to me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com and I'd be happy to help you with this.
Thanks!
The whiners who are complaining that the "knew nothing" about those "mystery" $12.97 charges failed to read this on Main Page of the Site:
Offer Details
Start your NO COST 30-day review with our compliments. If you decide not to continue your FreeShipping.com membership, simply log on to cancel during your review. Otherwise, we'll automatically extend FreeShipping.com benefits for just $12.97 a month, billed to the credit card you authorize. Your credit card will not be charged during your review period.
I know because I pulled the same bonehead stunt with another Site. You MUST read the fine print. I would suggest that a law or regulation be passed that states that with offers like this that it be illegal to continue billing you if you do NOT respond. Only if you give a positive confirmation that you wish to continue. I imagine that companies with these policies make big profits off the people who don't check their Bank Statements regularly. If i's any consolation, it cost me $240 because DirecTV automatically renews "subscriptions" 6 months after the season ended. So I now put alerts/reminders in my Google Calendar 30 days before the season starts, both texts & emails telling me to make sure that I don't get hosed..
Freeshipping.com works exactly as advertised. If (and that's a big IF) you understand the monthly fee structure and read the terms then you will know what you are signing up for and it is unlikely that their service leaves you unsatisfied. They are responsive, and run a trustworthy business which is worth it for those who do online shopping a few times at month and are willing to spend a few minutes to find the best deal (which is not always the Amazon.com even if you have free prime shipping).
That being said, they don't do a good job in helping you understand the monthly fee, and terms of service. The pop-up that they use to acquire customers at several third party websites, should show in large fonts and in several steps that this is a monthly service for which the customer will be charges $12.97 unless they cancel within trial period. And for the first time users they should let them submit the documents for shipping rebate up to several months after purchase, because many customers don't know how Freeshipping works and it may take time for them to find out they need to pay for the shipping at the time of purchase but can submit documents after the purchase to get a shipping rebate.
Hi! Thank you for the feedback. We are always trying to take our members feedback to improve our site. I will certainly forward on this information.
Thanks!
This is the stupidest idea EVER! Why pay $13 a month for NOTHING? I was never sent the $10 rebate that I was supposed to get from a Monoprice order that I placed that "Free"shipping.com claimed they would rebate but NEVER did and I am being charged $13 a month for this "service". WHY would ANYONE pay $13 a month for a service that provides NOTHING?
I DID NOT SIGN UP AT ANY TIME FOR A MONTHLY FEE TO BE TAKEN OUT OF MY CREDIT CARD OF $12.97. THAT IS CALLED CREDIT CARD FRAUD! THANK GOD I BELONG TO A COMPANY WHO SENDS ME ALERTS OF THIS. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IN CONN. HAS BEEN CONTACTED. SO WILL THE BBB. KIM D.
Hi Kim,
I'd be more than happy to explain to you how you joined FreeShipping.com as well as issue you a refund for the charges you incurred. Please contact me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com and please reference Customer Loyalty #F712.
Thanks!

Answer: Their advertising is a little sneaky I give you that. But that's your fault, just like out on the city streets, a fool and their money is soon parted.
Answer: Hi Christina, unfortunately I can't locate your account using the information here. Can you please reach out to me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com?
Answer: What's so dishonest about it? I am a regular subscriber and can easily recover my subscription fee many times over.
Answer: I did, but only after threatening to report them to the Attorney General in my state. They rely on the fact that few people will make a fuss.
Answer: You have to buy items from a website…anything from eBay to BATH & BODY WORKS, OVERSTOCK…many others. Go to "freeshipping.com" then delete the site from which you plan to buy-it will direct you to that site. (I always take screenshots of final receipts to add to my freeshipping.com submission), Afterwards you need to enter the purchase date-total cost and shipping cost…then a code is given. I have timed myself-the submission takes 35 secs if you are fluid on the computer. Have been a member for over 5 years and saved hundred$$! Trustworthy site-w/discounts as well as freeshipping (up to $10/order). $500 max shipping refunds per year…no limit on 10-20% off discounts!
Answer: Hello, Any cash back you earn as a member is yours to keep even if you choose to cancel. Thanks!
Answer: Hello - No problem, I have sent confirmation of this to your email.
Answer: Hi Carla, Please reach out to me directly at Help@Freeshipping.com. I will be happy to issue a refund for the membership fee. Thanks! Samantha Customer Support Supervisor
