Fandango sold me a ticket (two of them) and did not point out on the ticket or in the advertisement, that the viewing I was going to would be for a sensory sensitive audience.
The folks around me were afflicted with Turret's and other disabilities making it impossible for us to understand the dialogue in the movie. The movie was shown with the lights on and the sound was at low--appropriate for the intended but not disclosed audience.
AMC did not post a sign in front of the theater room either. It was not until 20 minutes into the film did we realize this would not end. We had already order food and wanted to eat or food at least (I was on a date!).
Once the movie ended, we went to the manager to get a refund. He refused and said to go through Fandango. I advised them to at least put a sign at the entrance of the viewing to alert folks.
When I contacted Fandango, they do not refund tickets after the viewing--no matter what!
Everyone deserves to see the movie they intended to see.
It was the worst movie experience ever.
I tried to buy tickets online and received no confirmation that the credit card was charged nor did I receive the e-tickets to enter the theater. Without some receipt I did not know if I actually had any tickets. Fandango did not answer a "What do I do?" phone call and the theater said, "Just come on in and your credit card will verify (or not) your online order." I used the theater kiosk to get my tickets and it appeared my online request was honored. However, I did not know I was charged twice until my credit card bill came a month later: once for the online order (for which I had no confirmation receipt from Fandango); and once for the kiosk. Bottom line? Fandango has close to a hundred bucks which does not belong to them. There was no way I knew there was a double charge unto later... and their refund policies do not cover online errors unknown to the customer. Beware of Fandango's almost impossible refund policies, classic "we're right" bureaucratic BS, and a rigid "the customer is always wrong" attitude. Avoid using Fandango at any cost... you'll keep your mind in YOUR wallet instead of theirs.
I purchased tickets to take my son to a movie as a summer reading reward. As I was purchasing the tickets for Friday, the screen went back to the seating I had to choose. It didn't change so I moved forward without looking. While I understand it was my fault for not double checking AFTER their system sent me backwards, they wouldn't do anything for me. NO EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS within 2 hours of your movie... you should know before you use the company. They will STEAL your money.
I purchased the wrong movie tickets using my mobile device... the accidental purchase was for a showing that was currently being played at the time of purchase. I was DENIED any type of refund or exchange for the tickets that I originally wanted. Just handed them over $26 bucks for a movie that 1. I didn't want to see. And 2. I wouldn't have even been able to make it too because it was currently playing and I was 20 minutes from the theater. FIRST AND LAST TIME I USE THIS SITE.
Fandango lies by telling people using their gift card is an easy and convenience process. Yet, it is a horrible process trying to get movie tickets. I HATE scamDANGO. I hope the company closes.
Avoid fandango at all costs. Not only are you given tickets to a theatre you have no intention of going to, but when you call customer service you are subject to going around in circles with no resolution to your issue. They are quick to issue an exchange that gets eaten up with their costs in an attempt to use YOUR money up on movie tickets as either it is their resistance it issue a cr dot to your original form of payment or a computer system that is so inadequate it is incapable of giving you your money back. Lesson learned -- NEVER AGAIN... i will NEVER AGAIN utilize them
I bought two tickets for a premiere of Respect. I had to cancel, which I did and verified the cancellation by inquiring for two new tickets and saw the reserved seats were now available. This was on August 8th, 2021. I have tried multiple times to get the tickets refunded because I get enraged at scams. They set up their e-mail to respond that you only have 48 hours to file a complaint. I filed IMMEDIATELY! They refuse to give me a refund. THIS IS A SCAM! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, BUY TICKETS THROUGH FANDANGO. IT SEEMS THEIR BUSINESS MODEL IS TO "CHEAT" THEIR WAY TO SUCCESS!
FANDANGO-STAY AWAY FROM THIS "service"
You have the worst customer service (and by that I mean it is criminal).
Three weeks ago Spencer and I purchased tickets through online Fandango to see Spiderman. I never got the email with the ticket purchase. I was however charged the $17 for the tickets. We had 40 minutes until the movie started. I called Fandango and sat on hold. As my son wanted to see the movie, I purchased another set while still on hold. This set went through.
Still on hold we left for the 2:30 movie. Operator picks up as we are almost to the theatre. It's 2:31. She tells me she can't refund the cc purchase as the movie has already started! She tells me corporate would have to give me a credit and forwarded me the email she was sending to them. I should get a response in 3-5 days.
Nearly 3 weeks later they contact me denying my refund. No explanation, just that they understand I must be disappointed and hope I have a nice day.
I write back while still in disbelief. I explain the situation: they failed to send me the email with the tickets, they failed to answer the phone until after the movie started, they failed to address the refund in the time they said they would. They responded that they appreciated my clarification but still are "unable " to give me a refund or credit, despite my cc documentation!
I bet they do this all day. They are stealing.
I asked them to forward my complaint to management but do not expect to hear back.
This is the most unethical thing I have ever seen in a company that I would not describe as "fly by night."
BEWARE.
I purchased 4 movie tickets through Fandango Mobile website this morning at 10:47am. The movie show time was 4:55pm today. The confirmation email from Fandango with the confirmation # required by the movie theater to issue the tickets arrived to my inbox at 6:11pm (over an hour after the movie show time). I contacted Fandango for a refund and they said they couldn't issue a refund after the movie show time. What a rip-off! I will never purchase tickets from Fandango again.
Go online and see a full theatre. Go to the theatre and realize it is WIDE OPEN and you have paid a $6.95 convenience fee for nothing
What kind of business practices are these?
Fraud.
I tried to buy from Fandango and it took forever processing never said it processed then said error timed out so I checked my account didn't see it so decided it must not have gone through. I went back and purchased again this time it showed it went through fine. Then both email confirmations showed up at the same time showing that it was double purchased. The movie was about to start so I hurry up and try the chat message to talk to someone and let them know what happened. My wait time kept getting longer and longer so I had to leave the chat without talking to anyone. I get to the movie watch it and try the chat again but the wait kept getting longer again so I look to see if there is another way to contact them and try the phone I waited then requested call back finally talked to someone today who told me since I tried the chat before the movie and didn't actually speak to anyone they could not refund me my money. I do not suggest ordering from them unless the movie time is hours/days away so you have plenty of time to talk to someone before the movie if something goes wrong. For me I will not use them again because a double purchase due to system error won't happen purchasing from the movie theaters themselves so I won't have to worry about being charged twice.
Purchased tickets to movie. Missed showing because I had trouble locating theater. FANDANGO Would allow me to attend another showing.
WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY TICKETS OR RECOMMEND TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO PURCHASE TICKETS FROM FANDANGO.
Purchased fandango gift cards from CVS, could not redeem them, no matter what i tried and after many emails, fandango refused to issue new cards or issue me a refund.
DONT BUY ANY GIFT CARDS FROM THIS COMPANY.
I received one as a gift. You have to get tickets online. It charges you a $2 fee... So a $25 gift card used once is only $23 even less if you try to use the reminder. Ugh.
What a joke the fandango gift cards are. Every time you use it a " convenience fee" is added. I wanted to buy 5 tickets to a matinee and the were going to charge me over $6.00. What a rip off.
The site isn't designed to service users, but rather present paid content from their advertisers. This what happens when advertisers are a priority over those who the site is designed for.
You can't even store gift card balances on your account. You have to keep them for the next time. This is on purpose so you will forget and or lose them.
Was given a fandango gift card pre pandemic. Tried to use it now and not valid. Terrible company. It states no expiration date, but guess not. Trying calling... No valid numbers.
Purchased a couple tickets of Fandango to see the new Spiderman flick. Was a little annoyed at the $3 "convenience" fee but sucked it up. I showed up about 20 mins prior to show time only to find I'd mistakenly bought tickets for another movie theatre with the same name across town... so I had to buy new tickets. The gentleman at the counter told me I could request a refund but by the time I was able to log in to the Fandango website and be connected to a "customer service" rep it was 1 minute past showtime and the customer service rep (Gerald) told me " sorry dude, it's past the showtime so I can't authorize a refund. I told him I had been waiting to "chat" with him for several minutes but he basically laughed at me and said "thank you for choosing Fandango" and disconnected. So I paid for a movie I wasn't able to see and spent half an hour trying to get a refund that never happened and got laughed at by thier employee... and paid a convenience fee for the pleasure of using their service.
No thanks
Do not use Fandango. It.is a ripoff and you must cancel 2 hours prior to show time... if you purchase directly from the theatre you would not have this issue.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Fandangos customer service is not good so I wish you luck. Thank you for your service, hope this helps Rose
Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
