I prepurchased 2 tickets for a date. And when I got to the theater the movie i purchased tickets to dosnt have the play time they sold me tickets for then when I contacted them they refused to refund and actuated thanked me for using fandago and hung up on me called me a liaer pretty much and hung up never again will I use fandango and watch out for them it is a scam it's all in the fine print there where 2 people if front of me that fandango sold them the same seats so b careful if u use them they r crooks
Our first let down was that fangango could not be used at the ticket window. You have to buy tickets online before the movie. So the next time I bought online before the movie my daughter forgot I had bought the tickets online and paid at the theater. I cannot get a credit because I didn't give 2 hours notice even though I paid only 15minutes before the movie started and could not possibly have canceled two hours before because I did not even purchase them 2hours before.
I RECEIVED TWO GIFT CARDS FROM WORK AND USED THEM ON FANDANGO WEBSITE. I USED TWO FOR $25 EACH. THEIR WEBSITE KEPT FREEZING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AFTER ENTERING THE CODES SEVERAL TIMES. AFTER AWHILE I HAD TO TRY MY THIRD GIFT CARD AND IT WORKED AT GAVE ME EMAIL CONFIRMATION. BUT IT NEVER GAVE ME ONE FOR FIRST TWO GIFT CARDS. THEN WHEN I TRIED THEM AGAIN, IT SAID IT WAS REDEEMED. TERRIBLE! I CHATTED WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWED THAT IT WASNT REDEEMED ON MY ACCOUNT, BUT THE GIFT CARDS SHOWED REDEEMED. JUST NOT A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE AT ALL. BE CAREFUL OF THEIR WEBSITE, IT A STOLE MY TWO $25 GIFT CARDS! NEVER WILL USE THEM AGAIN EVER!
NEVER USE FANDANGO FOR TICKET PURCHASES! I just had the worst customer service experience EVER! The rep, did not take any responsibility for their error or the fact that I was charged(confirmed NOT pending) for movie tickets! The individual was rude and accusational. I have experienced errors before, as online purchases with vendors can run into so many little issues, but every time the vendors have been helpful and walked me through how to ensure I was not charged and the charges would drop off... NOT FANDANGOs rep, rude rude rude!
I purchased tickets online for my daughter. I called the theater to confirm what she needed to bring. I was advised just the confirmation number. I sent her with a snapshot of the confirmation email. When she arrived they told her they needed to be printed afterall. They tried to print the tickets. An error message kept popping up. The box office gave her a phone number to call to get refunded. I called two different days, both times the wait was over 5 minutes, the second day, I waited for 38.5 minutes on hold only to be connected to a man name Mark who was rude and continued to interrupt me. He told me that they do not issue refunds after the show has played yet he put me on hold to call the theater which doesn't make any sense since he said they don't issue the refunds. Regardless, I advised him of this poor communication and customer service. He told me he would escalate it to corporate and this could take 5-7 business days and that was nearly two weeks ago. I have since emailed them twice requesting an update, and have yet to receive a response. I paid for 2 tickets and a service charge to the tune of $27 and all we did was pay them to provide poor customer service. They stole my money as far as I am concerned. From what I have read this has happened a lot which leads me to believe they do it on purpose. I would suggest someone look a little closer at this business.
I pretty much always buy my tickets on-line and have been doing so ever since you could. I have never had a worse experience then I have had with Fandango. I made a mistake, plain and simple, I clicked on the date I was purchasing the tickets and not on the date I needed. Unfortunately, the Movie was in 15 minutes of purchasing the tickets. Realizing my mistake, I immediately did an on-line chat and they gave me the standard canned response, it is within the two-hour cancellation window. Admitting to seeing that I just purchased the tickets 5 minutes ago, they still could do nothing, I asked for a supervisor and they said they would email me. Three days later I received the email with the same canned response. I have ordered tickets from Ticketmaster, items from individual stores, airline tickets, and groupon events and when they see it was a mistake they always are able to do something. We are human beings and mistakes are made, they should take that into account. After reading all the other reviews, just know they are not the only game in town, I ordered the tickets from AMC and the fee was half the price.
Everything in here is so true. Fandango is a rip-off. The only good thing was that I actually didnt sign up. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT USE FANDANGO TO PURCHASE MOVIE TICKETS! The free poster offer is a scam. Thats how they got me. Its not free at all. You have to pay for shipping at $6.95. The shipping costs more than the poster.
Decided to try there service as they promised a free poster. When they later included their shipping and handling, the fee was worth more than the poster itself.
I bought two tickets to see the spiderman movie the next day and they did not email the confirmation. They charged money but never gave me my seats. This is a scam, BEWARE DO NOT BUY YOUR TICKETS FROM FANDANGO. Because of the refund policy, I cant even get a refund. They will steal your money.
As all the others reviews have said, fandango gets the poor review because of their refund policy. Bottom line, DO NOT give fandango gift cards as a gift to the movie lover in your life, Cinemark is a MUCH better voice. Basically if you need to request an exchange or refund after your movie starts your SOL. The reason this is such a bad policy is because it questions people's integrity. They are assuming you have used the tickets and now want a refund when in fact, when people don't make a movie they bought tickets for its typically because of an extenuating circumstance. My husband and I bought tickets ($28) but couldn't make the theater so we decided to see a later showing at a different theater, (same brand). When I went to make the exchange (12 minutes after the start of the original listed showtime) I was denied. I wrote Fandango to explain the situation and the response was that they have to enforce their no refund/exchange policy once the posted show time passes. No exceptions. This is unfortunate. I go to the movies A LOT and I can tell you, Cinemark is a much better option if you're going to buy someone a gift card for movies.
Today 11/30/2014 around 3:40 pm I wanted to cancel my tickets for movie I wanted to take my 7 year old to go see around 6:15. I spoke to a wonderful women name Daniela over the phone and told her I wanted to cancel it she was super nice and understanding so she said she could cancel the tickets. But at the moment my parents interrupted and said they will pay the tickets since my 7 year old is treated like a princess and apparently they think I was the bad guy for correcting my 7 year old. So I told Daniela sorry for the yelling in the background and told her that I wasn't canceling. She understood my situation, and her Customer service was outstanding, so if anyone wants to have a great customer satisfication ask for Daniela in Fandango. Thank you and god bless you Daniela.
Site is not functioning at all. Site error when I try to view movie availability and show times. 8 cant log in to my account to view vip offers or book tickets. I am very disappointed.
FANDANGO'S CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING. SPENT HOURS TRYING TO PURCHASE TICKETS WITH THERE GIFT CARD, THEM TO SIGN UP AS VIP MEMBER, AND TRIED TO USE MY DEBIT CARD, THEN MY CREDIT CARD. THE SYSTEM SAYS TRY AGAIN, TRY AGAIN. Been on hold for 20 minutes so far with customer "bend over" service. The website says gift card invalid at checkout. So I rack my brain thinking of if i used it... I didnt. I checked the balance on the website and it still has its original face value balance. Can't use it according to other reviews so that is it.
I tried to get ahold of these people for 4 hours before the movie started so I could cancel and they wouldn't answer the phone, their "online service" wouldn't let me talk to anyone. I literally have pictures of them saying I was 2nd in queh then 1st then 2nd several times like I was stuck in an infinite loop and they were never really going to help me. Then I tried to make an online account and it literally wouldnt let me make one until and hour after the movie started! Then when i finally got ahold to someone they REFUSED to help me! A complete scam!
You pay a convenience fee and still have to wait in line to show your credit card number to get your ticket. Fool me once but not again. What a total scam

Went on the site ordered two tickets, site said "error" so I logged off the site. Hour later checked bank account they charged me the $26.00, call customer service got nobody! Thieves!
Your cards are very inefficient for wiping. They kind of just spread the fecal matter around rather than absorbing it. 2 stars because I found I can scrape the ice off of my windows with it.
A few years ago I wanted to see "Jumangi: Welcome to the Jungle" I ordered my tickets for the 10am showing, I ended up changing my mind and canceled and decided to see the 12pm showing instead. I never got my refund even after I finally got a hold customer service and she lied telling me my money will be refunded to me in a couple of days. It never came and that was 2 years ago!
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
