I got on line to buy movie tickets yesterday after filling out the info and entering my credit card number the system came back and said the purchase didn't go thru. I went to the theater and bought tickets. This morning I got on line and found that Fandango had charged my account. When I called for a refund they said no. These people are crooks with a flawed system. Don't use them.
Fandango states that I could use the card to purchase tickets but not in my state and when I stated it to their rep he said sorry but you might be able to use it when you go travelling.(really) why would they sell the cards in my state and not have the capabilities to honor those cards. That seems like selling gloves to a man with no hands. Worthless company and no customer care poor business ethics and they make you put one star
I purchased tickets for a movie on the following day, but when I got to the theater my tickets were for the previous day. I know I purchased the right date because I remember it clearly. Secondly, the customer behind me seeing the exact same movie was told the same thing. That they purchased tickets for the day before.?. Sounds like much more than a coincidence. I called fandango and they refused to even provide a credit. Buy your tickets directly from the theater! Fandango will keep your $$ even when it's their mistake! I'll never use fandango again! I had requested a refund as I had purchased a ticket for the wrong theater. The website said my refund was complete and even showed me a confirmation screen. I learned several days later when I received an email asking for my thoughts on the movie that my refund had not been processed. When I went to their customer service, I had to wait 20-30 minutes each time and was repeatedly disconnected when I went to attach a file. I recommend just buying your ticket in person so you don't have to deal with this poorly programmed website. I've attached photos of the ticket I bought online and the ticket I bought in person after I learned it was the wrong theater. Never use the Fandango website.
Fandango, review and fix your agreements with your theaters. There is no reason you cannot make an exception for an honest mistake for a ticket on the wrong date purchased by a 12 year old when the theater is not sold out. I will be cancelling my service and using a competitor.
I got a gift card to fandango and after convenience fees paying for tickets full price and ect. The grand total price was only $1 less than two tickets at costco price. Our friend and us ended up spending: 15 gift card + 13 dollars cash = $28 for what we could have paid $14 for two costo tickets. RIP OFF!
The worst possible customer service I have ever encountered. I called a number, they didn't speak english, there were chickens in the background. Chickens! Tried three times. Couldn't do anything at all to help me. I don't care what race you are but how do all of these billion dollar corporations have all outsourced help now? What happened to this country?
I bought tickets through Fandango to see a movie. I bought the tickets on Thursday. When I showed up at the theater on Sunday, I discovered that the theater's schedule had changed, and they were no longer showing the movie I had tickets to see.
Fandango did not inform me of the change in any way. They also refused to issue a refund because "the movie has already started and you checked in with the ticket taker." The fact that the movie they sold me tickets to WAS NOT PLAYING did not matter to them.
Basically, they stole $52 from me - $26 for the tickets, and $26 for the snacks we bought before going to the ticket taker. I also wasted 40 minutes of my life getting to the theater, trying to figure out the problem at the theater, and then driving home.
I am very angry about this. I will never use Fandango again, and will discourage others from using them as well. If I could give negative stars, I would.
I went on to buy tickets and it said there was an error. I found out they charged my card $28 and I got no tickets. I've been on hold with customer service and not been able to talk to anyone yet! I am way more than just pissed right now.
The had a big giveaway that just ended. There were supposed to be free codes to enter. They never put any codes on the code site. I e-mailed customer service, and they were not helpful, did not give me a code, and the site was never fixed. They then actually e-mailed me after the giveaway was over to let me know I did no longer need a code. I would never do business with them because of how they behaved with this contest. Advertising that anyone can enter w/o a purchase but then not allowing it? Fraudulent!
After being a very good customer for years, I needed a refund and found out how horrible their customer service really is. I attempted the refund online but because there was $5 off on $60 of tickets, it had to he done through customer service. I waited for 40 minutes and was then disconnected. I emailed them with all the relevant info and received a reply several days later telling me they couldn't do a refund through email. I needed to do it online.
At that point, the movie day and time had come and gone. I replied explaining the situation again but got no response. I no longer use Fandango.
Yes, you got it. Purchased tickets, only to find out upon arrival at the movie theatre that it was closed. Ask for a refund and got a major run around. And no, they would not issue a refund, telling me to contact the movie theatre. (I did - the Movie Theatre told me to contact... wait for it... Fandango!) Will never use them again. Chat w customer service was well below par.
I bought tickets online as a VIP and could not use them so I exchanged them for a Fandango credit. Tried to use that credit the next day but it does not apply to my next purchase. No way to apply it. Had to buy two more tickets and then called support. I was on hold for chat support for 45 minutes even though their chat window said it would be 19 minutes when I started holding. They refused to give me a refund even though I explained how both their mobile app and browser app did not work correctly. I said I would do a chargeback on my credit card if I needed to and the guy said that my account would then be suspended because that is against their terms of services. I asked to talk to a manager (in chat online) and he disconnected. Nice.
Never using them again.
They have a reward system that after 4 movies you get $5 you use at the theater or to rent. It takes you straight to their rent and doesn't ask you if you want to rent or purchase tickets. When I clicked on the movie I wanted it choose rent. When I called to get it change I had to wait for "corporate" to review and reissue it, 3-5 business days. Got an email back saying they could not refund at this time. I will buy my tickets through someone else from now on. I know it is only $5, but if I earned it I should easily be able to use it where I want.
I must admit that Fandango as a company has it's faults, yes. However, SEVERAL of you here complain and complain about the company robbing you of money when the issue was yours to begin with! I don't know about the rest of you, but before I ever complete a purchase online, I review every single detail about my purchase as well as the policy. I don't see what is so hard for you people to simply just read. I am sure that is what you all went to school for. With that being said. In the future when you do happen to make a purchase on any web site. Please read all details before you go off on a tangent and rant about the 'company's mistake' when it was your own ignorance.
I use it for the very first time to see end game, was nothing but issues. I purchased tickets but made a error. Taken me 27 minutes to fix it and had to cancel and repurchase. Had to pay cancel fee and what 3 days to be refunded. I will not be doing any business with them again.
You literally offer nothing that going to the native theater company apps/websites don't already have. Your refund policy is trash. You used to wave the "convenience fee" and now you don't. I didn't want to disappointment my granddaughter so I bought tickets on line. Seems you MUST buy from Fandango or nothing. After accepting the enormous "convenience fee" I bought the tickets. From the way I read it, I was to get 2 dollars off at the concession for each ticket I purchased. There was no such deal. You only see this offer when buying tickets. I've not been able to find it anywhere in Fandango's website. This is another issue. (By clicking the Complete My Purchase button, you agree to the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Policies, and will be charged for this order. You agree to receive email from Fandango. A confirmation of your order will be e-mailed to you.) You HAVE to agree in order to purchase the tickets.
So the offer a refund policy with 2 options. Get your money back or receive a credit with them. I chose the wrong option and selected credit. So now with 6 days till Christmas I get to wait till I want to use $40 in movie "credit" instead of getting my money back. Why you ask? Apparently once you choose to get the cre`dit there is no WAY to get your money
Had a promo code for 4 tickets that i could only use once and if i purchased less than the 4 tickets i automatically lost any remaining ones. Chat rep i spoke couldn't have cared less and was just trying to get rid of me. Nice rip-off scheme.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
