When I booked the combination of flights with a car rental, I didn't get my discount of 85 euro. I showed on the computer screen, but in the final booking, I had to pay the separat prices. After contacting the 'service desk', I got the answer, 'yes your right, but I can't help you'.
I booked a round trip flight to Athens including hotel. After the European 'travel ban' (!?!) the airline (Emirates) canceled the flights (understandably). I had paid for a 'waiver' from Expedia so that I could change or reschedule flights if needed. I have tried MULTIPLE times to contact them on-line (their site is both frustrating and useless) only to be led round and round in circles. I have tried calling but they don't even let you hold - the message just says to try again later. They DID call me this morning but when I picked up an automated voice told me 'to hold as there was a very long wait time' - and THEY had called ME...! To activate the waiver I had to give 24 hours notice before departure - obviously I have now missed this deadline. I am hoping that if I EVER get through to someone from customer service they will waive this restriction. I understand that this is an unusual time but Expedia are certainly not trying to make things any easier for their customers.
Expedia is the worst! Booked flights and paid extra $$$ for single baggage pre-check in, seat upgrade and travel insurance benefits only to find out that the "ticketed price" did not include anything that we paid for as indicated on Expedia's poorly designed web site. Called the barely-english-speaking Rep at Expedia (after waiting for 1 hour and 35 minutes) to clarify and/or cancel the trip. We were told that we are responsible for calling each of the airlines for our multi-distination reservations to cancel. Don't understand the Expedia "value" that we're paying for. I will NEVER use Expedia again. They are a scam, just like all of the other travel web sites. Called each of the airlines and got the same price offered by Expedia, and one of them was actually cheaper. Don't use travel web sites! They are the new "time share scam" of the travel industry. Buyer beware, especially the senior citizens.
The deals on Hotel and flight on Expedia are not the best. The fact they are just about the average that you could find anywhere else on Internet.
However their policies and services are very trustworthy so you can be assured you will get everything done nice and clean.
I have bought flight tickets and hotel from expediafortd.com and have no problem so far.
My flight got canceled so I gave them 24 hours notice that I was not able to check in on my agreed date but would be 24 hours late. They told me too bad they were charging me anyway. I will never use them again. They falsely advertise cancelations are available but canceled flights do not count. My confirmation number is *******. The prompt does not allow me to enter my proof.
I bought flight insurance. Had to cancel my trip and they refused to refund my money.
You complain long and hard enough and they will refund $20 insurance fee but not the $400 flight fee.
I will never use them again.
I did not receive any confirmation when I hit submit. I got a cancellation email from their customer service rep. And then I got charged. I got tossed to almost 30 customer service representatives. Expedia online customer service always freezes when I hit submit. Who should I ask about the erroneous charge that Expedia charge me
Expedia overcharged me $1254 and refuse to acknowledge or respond to my 14 phone calls and countless emails.
Avoid avoid avoid I highly recommend contacting the resort or airplane company and booking direct You will find a better deal than Expedia offer as the advertised price is not the price charged

I called Expedia customer service to fix one of the names on my reservation. I was transferred and then transferred and then transferred. Im regretting using Expedia when I could have gone directly through the airlines. 75 minutes later, I am on hold speaking to the 4th person they connected me to so that I can correct a name. She tells me that it will be another 20 minutes because she has to call another department. One hour and 25 minutes later - nothing. No one can help me. I need to go directly to the airlines. SMH
I have recently purchased four airline tickets through Expedia only for them to call with more than a moth in advance that my flight had to add more crazy hours to our already overly long layover. I was contacted of the change by Expedia and they then promised me that because it was the airline the one who made the changes I could get a full refund! Only to find out after more that eight weeks my refund has still not been done. They have me on the phone for like 2 hours each time I talk to them about this and now they said that they are sorry but that my $1,500 will not be refund! Well they are not sorry yet but they will be! Even if I have to go to my local news here in Charlotte NC
I booked a flight through Expedia and to change my seat I had to pay a 25 dollar fee. Then I find out I can't change my seat until I check in. On the day I check in online it turns out I have to pay the 25 dollar fee again to the airline if I want to change my seat even though I already paid the fee. Complained to Expedia but they just don't care. You got me on this one but I'll never be back. Expedia sucks.
Last time I have planned my family trip with this online travelling site. I have booked one of the Air conditioned room in one of the hotel. They told me that you can see the sunrise and sunset from the room itself but when I reached the hotel and checked the room I noticed that the room is not with the sea view. I am so sad for this, the room is with sea view is on other side. We asked to change the room but they are not agreed for that. Expedia is not having good hotel lists.
I booked a flight with expedia.com, it was actually really cheap, i checked alot of other travel booking sites and even the airline itself, usually the airline website will have the best rates, but for some reason expedia had a great deal, the airline was subpar though, not expedia's fault i know.
I bought a $4000 trip from Expedia, then tried to get a refund about a week afterwards when I found the same flights for $1000 elsewhere. I had to spend 12 hours on the phone with the Expedia reps to get my money back as a credit (only usable through Expedia, for the same airline).
During that time the Expedia reps tried their absolute hardest to get me to stop pursuing a refund by giving me misleading information, long wait times, and occasionally outright lies. I was only able to confirm that a refund was possible thanks to the American Airlines phone reps.
Now, every time I try to use this credit with Expedia, they give me the same runabout for 2 hours. I have been blatantly lied to multiple times in this process regarding: The existence of my Expedia credit, the amount of credit remaining, the eligibility of a certain flight for use with the credit, the credit rollover policy, and American Airlines policy.
I booked flight, hotel and airport transportation thru Expedia. We flew in from Atlanta to Seattle, had Expedia book us a ride to hotel from Expedia's recommended service. They were a no show. Called Expedia customer service. They were clueless. Called the service myself and learned they no longer serviced Seattle. Shouldn't Expedia know this? How would we get to our hotel now? Customer service at Expedia offered no options. Ended up finding our own transportation at additional cost. Now Expedia says they are trying to get me a refund "on my behalf". No sir, Expedia owes me directly! Ridiculous! Thought they had me covered... NOT!
We stayed in the family room and the Oval room at The Rocky Cove B&B in Ilfracombe North Devon and the accommodation was excellent and the service and the breakfast was 10 out of 10. You are served complimentary homemade fudge along with the teas and coffees in the room which was delightful and a beautiful surprise. The hosts Nicki and Jonah were excellent. We will be coming back to stay again. Thank you
Great deals for flight and hotel however car rental was a huge ripoff and therefore the 4 stars instead of 5!
Have used them a couple of times for trips but beware of adding the car rental. Better to wait until you get to your destination.
So Expedia offer this extra insurance for $55 for your trip in case you cannot make it to the trip you can cancel. Turns out that it's all FAKE! Read the fine prints, it ONLY applies in case of a death. Then why the hell I need it, I'm not alive to pay for my trip when I"m dead anyways. I called Expedia asking for a refund on that insurance and they said I can only cancel that within 7 days, which the day I called is the 7th day! I ask for a refund. They said NO! I said you just told me I can within 7 days. The foreign accent customer service was rude, not helpful, and definitely made me feel like it's a rip off.
I called expedia on june 13 to cancel an itinerary which I booked one hour earlier because I found a cheaper price at air canada website.
The agent assured me that expedia will refund the difference through price match and there's no need too waste time to cancel the ticket.
However, the price match department refused to match the price and I finished by paying the expensive expedia price.
I talked to one of your managers to explain the issue. But she wasn't helpful neither.
I asked her to listen to the conversation with the expedia agent that assured me that I'll get a refund. She said that it's not possible
I will report this issue to the better business bureau.
I love expedia! I book all of my trips through them because I can get the best deal around and I can also view the photos of hotels. I can also review past guest experiences with the hotels which is the best of all!
Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
Expedia has a rating of 2.8 stars from 1,604 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Expedia most frequently mention customer service, credit card and next day. Expedia ranks 15th among Travel Search Engine sites.
