I have made many different purchases through Best Buy online. Everything I have ordered has come when they said it would. Their deals have always been right. They have an excellent service department. If necessary they have plenty of stores to go directly in person. They might not be the very cheapest but they are usually fair. Especially, if you keep your eye on the daily and weekly deals. For instance the new 17" Mac book Pro w/ Intel core 7 is about $150 cheaper than through the Apple online store.
I had some experience with small issues like few broken pixels on my laptop, or not working buttons on my PS controller, but that is nothing comparing with the customer support and wide range of products they offer. Still the best offline shop for electronics.
In the beginning when I got my computer I never had this problem year and half ago, now past 2 on the online help have been so rude i had to report them. They hardly do any thing for you at all, waste of money
I can't believe there are negative comments about Best Buy. Im a customer for over 2 years now and honestly its the best online store I have ever encountered. Prompt service and assistance made me going back to this site.
How is this company still in business? And the geek squad? They hire the cheapest and unqualified people to work in their stores. Pricing is absurd. Usually they just quote some unrealistic price to confuse the customer and make it seem like they need a new PC, and then they get them to buy a new PC when their old one could have been repaired much cheaper by a qualified and highly skilled technician from any local PC shop.
Another store that preys on customers with little technical knowledge to sell unneeded equipment. Take 2 minutes and look at best buy google reviews. Every single store is 1/5 stars and dozens of bad reviews.
They lie about the "get it by" date. Their website "reviews" your reviews and doesn't post most negative reviews. (I was a "verified" purchaser for a product and my review never showed up.) Their customer service is just bad, both phone support and at the physical store itself. I had stopped doing business with Best Buy years ago but broke down and ordered something online a week ago. Terrible experience. Fool me once...
This is probably worst customer experience I can imagine. They put me on hold three different times for about an hour until eventually they just hung up. My tv was supposed to be delivered over an hour ago. Trying to check the order status online was not helpful either. Terrible UI and experience. What a joke of a company.
Horrific experience. Customer service is polite, but after 4 hours talking with 10 different people, repeating the same thing, still no resolution. Only half my order arrived and no one can explain, yet their system says my order was delivered. Delivery service also confirmed half delivery. Now, I am told my undelivered order will be refunded, but I can't get any confirmation email for this and every other customer service person I call has no record of this. A frickin Christmas nightmare. Why I continue to believe in these big box retailers is beyond me...
Sure it was a good price, but after 6 ( yes) failed deliveries including 4 no shows, i still do not have my appliances 3 weeks after the original delivery. Run around, incompetence, lies, and broken promises on make good and still in the same spot. Lesson learned- pay a bit more somewhere else and at least get peace of mind you will get your product. Never more Best Buy. Change your name. Its a lie too
Went to Mt Laurel store-good display of dishwashers. Great salesperson, Ordered to be installed. Gave me a 4 hr window. Did not call or text as stated. After 5 hrs, I called. Showed up after 6 hrs. Came in & immediately almost hit a painting on the wall with a soiled cardboard. I said-you almost hit the painting. Response-it was only cardboard. Then left. Supervisor said that he had a back his employee. Compensation for losing almost a day of work & starting over-$50 store credit. Went to Johnnie's Appliances. 1 Hr window. Called and came. Very professional. Faster turnaround. Cheaper price.
So I bought some headphones recently, on sale, very good price. Get an email stating they don't have the item. Hmmm, where have I seen these fake items before (check TigerDirect). Get a $15 credit. OK. Was really pissed though. Went online, after the Black Friday/Boxing Day sale and sure enough, the same item was in stock, and at a store near me. Selected, for pickup, same price + the credit. Viola. This and their horrible site during the large sales are why you get 3 stars. Still, sadly, the only place we have to shop, in Canada for electronics.
Recently had 2 experiences with sales "associates" at BB:
Told sales person I wanted to get a holder for my TomTom GPS. Guy promptly picked out one that only fit the Garmin. I noticed the pic on the box and found the correct one my self.
Next, went to another BB and asked for an adapter to fit an older monitor to a newer computer. Salesperson showed me the one they had-it didn't look right, so asked one of their
"geek squad" if there was any other option. He promptly sold me a $49.99 gadget for connecting extra monitors. Of course it did not work. Spent hours on line finding the correct connector-finally did-for $4.95.
The rewards program is neat (I've forgotten what it's called). I think you have a longer time to return, and various other benefits if you are a member.
Nothing wrong with best buy but I prefer Amazon.
My uncle, who is 56 years old filled out an online application for a job at Best Buy and what he encountered was age discrimination. The application asked for all kinds of info, which he said, "figures out your age". When he went down to the local BB some of the younger employees even confirmed this for him, saying that, "older men, and especially women, have no idea how electronics work and they are a "waste of company time". Isn't that illegal, to discriminate by age? BTW, I am writing this for him, not because he is not electronic savvy; he moved to another country (Germany) and got a job with IBM! (Shows how dumb BB is!). They really should get some good attorneys for this is discrimination!
Recently had an order for a steel book DVD pack that was delivered damaged. To begin with, its a nightmare to contact customer service. Their hotline is either automated and hangs up on you or, you deal with someone who doesn't want to be bothered. If you live chat, you can randomly get disconnected at any time. Whatever the case, I was able to speak with an agent that mentioned returning the DVD for an exchange. Okay, so the order gets back to them. A couple days and nothing. Now another agent admits they have the item back and there's no way to supply another. Really? What was the point of pre-ordering and dealing with the games then? Don't appreciate being lied to...
Went to Best Buy today to buy a new charger for our 2 yr old laptop. Was told they don't sell them and can't order them. We were always good customers but no more! I've had it! Geek Squad is a joke too!
I wonder about negative reviews. Why? Yeah it costs much. I got lot of things when was living in US. Delivery is great, product quality is not bad! But not that perfect. You go into deal and you understand what you get, overall happy with their service! Thanks!
Pay a restocking fee. One of the first companies to introduce, and they haven't given it up yet. I shop in the store when I need supplies (obviously that don't need returning), but it is the stupidest and most disrespectful practices towards customers ever. Go elsewhere for your electronic needs or appliances.
For twenty five years I shopped Best Buy exclusively for games, movies, software, and especially computers and electronics. Have noticed policy changes that don't favor customer anymore. Stopped shopping with them 4 years ago and never looked back! I would do without before I ever walked into another of their stores again!
I've purchased two laptops and some electronics and have had no problems with the shipping or products. Because these were somewhat larger, more expensive purchases, I worried whether Is should have just bought them in the store but luckily all my online purchases have been great experiences. Everything came within the estimated time frame and in perfect condition. The website has lots more products than in stores and oftentimes better deals so I definitely recommend taking a look!
Answer: I am sure there is a catch-like a 2 year contract. No one gives you a phone for $1
Answer: All I can say is that you obviously have been very lucky. I was a dedicated customer for 25 years, however, I would do without before I ever spent another dime in a Best Buy!
Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
Answer: Great question. Let us know if you were able to get reimbursed.
Answer: I chose Best Buy tech support because they seemed to offer a good deal on support and I bought my products there. I'll go elsewhere now.
Answer: I dont know? I dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont know
Answer: Write a genuine review for a product you buy from there, get upto $25 gift certificate
