I bought an Amanda dishwasher in September 2020 from Best Buy With a 5 yr warranty. Total was $500.85 It leaves dishes soak and wet, never dries or gets hot enough to clean well. Went to the store, offered to buy the $1200. Top of the line one but they refused to take back the lemon so I am stuck with a piece of junk that needs to be put in the alley. Repair man came twice and said there is nothing wrong with the washer, it's just the way it performs. Thing is all made of plastic so it will never get hot enough. Sharp plastic on inside top door. I Will Never Shop at BB as long as I live. I told my friends and family to never shop there because there is no lemon law at that store.
Not enough room to post all of what happened. I bought a refrigerator open box. I didn't care if it had a scratch on the side, but you think someone would have plugged it in to see if at least the lights come on before they delivered it! It was completely dead on delivery. It is now 18 days since they picked up the dead fridge and I have not yet been reimbursed. Yesterday I went to the store and no one would help me except to say a check was mailed 13 days ago. MAILED! Why not credit the credit card I used? If your mail is like mine you know how "secure" my reimbursement check is. This is just the highlight. There were many other bad customer service issues.
Only reason I bought from them was because of the promised one day shipping. For some reason they shipped my product from California (paid extra for their "expedited shipping") using UPS ground. Literally the other side of the United States from where I live. Called them up to cancel the product, but they said they can't. 1 day shipping became two weeks. Not gonna buy from them again. Not the mention my phone number, CC, and address all got leaked the moment I placed my order. After minutes of my order I received some scam call asking my full CC number saying they are best buy, and surprisingly they know exactly what I ordered.
Can I give 0 stars? I will never ever buy from this company again. I bought a washing and dryer machine, with installation and haul away services included and the deliver have been rescheduled 3 times. Today when they finally came to deliver it, I found out that the drivers were only gonna deliver the machines and somehow the installation and haul away of my old machines were taken off from the order. Result: I have a washer and a dryer left in the middle of my living room. After calling to resolve the situation, being transferred to 3 different agents and staying on the phone for 1 hour, I found out I gotta call back tomorrow to reschedule yet again the service, since the order was not opened for editions. Worst service ever. When these companies are going to start to be punished for misleading the customer?
Can shop for products by manufacturer, user ratings, price, color, etc. I love that it's SO easy to narrow down my options.
Also like the option of considering their re-manufactured (used) computer products at an even better price. I've purchased these before and have never had any quality issues over years of use.
Customer Service is a joke. I've spent 7 hours on the phone over the past month because of a failed tv delivery. I'm a Total Tech member, but if you need help with anything beyond scheduling an installation, Customer Service has no idea how to help you. Their default response is to transfer you to another department. I have been transferred dozens of times, been disconnected several times, been denied talking to a supervisor, and been offered a gift card that proved to be worthless. Ultimately I gave up trying to work with them. Get your product, get out, and don't look back. Certainly don't waste your time trying to get help.
Don't bother with best buy. They will give you the run around. Their website is defunct. It will send your item to a wrong addresses even when specifically telling it where to ship
And to boot they're un-compassionate, outsourced service will waste your precious time and fill it with lies and canned responses. And will be off absolutely no help at all.
Consider purchasing else where.
Be cautious, I purchased a open box brand new computer, through BestBuy. It showed up a week late. It a cardboard box wrapped with bubble wrap. They said we their associate gives them a refund, they will put it on my card, it should be two weeks.They would not give me an exchange.
We purchased a new washer from Best Buy online. The day it was installed, the installer damaged my new floors, door jams, door in my laundry room (new construction by the way). We have called numerous times, said a claim was submitted and that Sedgwick would be in touch. We call Sedgewick and they advise Best Buy did not submit. Essentially Best Buy does NOT take ownership and they just hope that you will give up. They have no integrity - do not purchase anything from them.
Best Buy sells large appliances that fail within weeks of installation from store staff. The freezer had power (power light indicator on) but the motor was non-functional. Despite the product failure resulting in approximately $500 in pork and venison loss there was no spoilage reimbursement. Best Buy sells faulty items and then fails to stand by any impacts from the sale and installation.
On 4/26 I purchased 2 Samsung phones from the Sunrise, FL Best Buy as my and my wife's phones needed replacing. They shipped from 2 different stores, arrived 5/2. The box from the Florida City store, reference # **************, arrived empty and had a lighter shipping weight. I called Customer Service and opened case # *******. Meanwhile, on 5/1, I bought a third phone form Best Buy. Today, I got an email form Best Buy stating they now refuse to refund payment for the phone that was never sent. I will fight this and no longer patronize Best Buy. I do not recommend doing business with them.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I am truly shocked how horrible my customer service experience was with Geek Squad about Samsung - 6.0 cu. Ft. Freestanding Gas Range. Return and exchange support to happen seven month ago. They still fail to do so.
The *******289 and the stores don't talk to one another. I have had many delivery dates and still return and exchange did not occur. I have talked to many different reps and everyone says the problem has been resolved. They were all wrong and I am the only one paying the price.
I asked to speak to manger they refused to transfer me. I am stuck with not fully function gas range.
I am very surprised a large retailer would be so unorganized and treat a customer that expects a product to work properly.
Ordered an ipad for my mom's anniversary for same day shipping. Didn't get it. Spent 55 mins on call! No ipad for 3 days. Cancelled my order and have a case I'd for refund. All this for one **** ipad. I am done with best buy for ever.
I LOVE Best Buy. By Far, favorite store ever! Now they even price match anything online too... Their staff for the most part are actually knowledgeable... and if you get help from someone that's not sure, an expert for the particular field is found easily. Their warranty offerings are also way better than any manufacturer's warranty and they stand behind them strongly.
Customer service is horrendous. Good luck with finding someone who actually knows the products and/or can answer a simple question. Make sure you know exactly what you want and that it is a good deal. You can find an OK deal on occasion. My store does not answer the phone, Ever! It will ring indefinitely. While you're in the store, however, there are salespeople everywhere, just standing around. I give this chain 3 more years until the Geek Squad unit is the last remnant before collapse. There is no value-add to this chain.The 800 number reps do not know their stuff either as I had ordered a mobile installation and scheduled service... of course the unit was incorrect for the vehicle and the time allotted was insufficient. Then the tech stated that he left at a certain time and would be unable to complete the installation... nice customer service, especially after THEIR mistake.
Very competitive prices, good selection of goods but very poor to non-existent post sales support. Attitude is "you bought it, now it's your problem. Talk to the manufacturer if it doesn't work as advertised." I don't patronize them anymore. Too many nasty experiences.
Recently got an LG phone on sale for $9.99. It arrive quickly. Two weeks later I got a $10.00 coupon in my email. No minimum purchase required. I'm impressed with the prices and promotions offered. Will be shopping here more often.
I usually compare whatever electronics I'm planning on buying before deciding. Best Buy consistently comes in not only under priced, but always in stock so I can get it the same day.
My last computer had a few bugs - twice- and their Customer Service took it back and gave me a new one, no hassle.
Everytime I've been in the store, help is available if wanted. Liked that you can browse without being hovered over. Products are varied and up to date. Salespeople provide options and don't push added services.
If you like tech, and gadgets, then this is your place to play with new toys, or check them out. May not always have the best price on display but they do price match so if you see it cheaper say something

Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
