  • Charity Navigator

11/17/11

Before you give your hard-earned money to an organization you should pop their name into this site for a quick overview and rating. I learned that some of the organizations I was giving to were spending almost half of every dollar donated in advertising and administration fees! Needless to say, the non-profit CEOs making over 150,000.00 a year no longer get my money! It also suggests charities with higher scores or similar interests.

  • Zaba Search

11/18/11

Links right into ussearch.com and intelius.com which are both 1-star rated/not recommended on sitejabber.com. This is nothing more than another attempt to get your money folks!

  • MSPCA Angell

WATCH OUT for this 'organization' people! They cry, beg and plead that they are in dire need of money yet rape pet parents that are trying to get care for their animals. For instance, a 10 minute visit to one vet cost $140 with NO labs, test or diagnostics... JUST A "REFERRAL." There was only an observation and repeat of what the problem was. Another example is >5 minute blood pressures done by a vet tech that cost $50! When the veterinarian was confronted with this astronomical charge she validated it with "equipment and special training." In fact, their Doppler was antiquated and would not be permitted in a human hospital and all the tech does is inflate a blood pressure cuff and listen for the blood return. When the vet was told this she stated "you know this because you are a medical professional... the general public doesn't know this." They are predators of kind people in my opinion that put profits above all else. They also have a poor rating on charitynavigator dot org.

  • New York Daily News

11/17/11

I am a pretty liberal and open minded person but this site is FAR left and very bias in its stories. There have also been many occasions where they print incorrect information in stories that stays posted several hours before it's caught and corrected by their team. Don't bother subscribing and posting an opposing response to some of their wacky stories because they will permanently suspend your account. I know this firsthand! This is the equivalent to a tabloid version of the news.

  • Lands' End

11/18/11

One of the best sites for quality clothing for the entire family, including pets. They are always having sales and bonus sales, so it's a good idea to check the site frequently if you are eye balling something special that is a little too pricey, it may be reduced when you check back. I purchased a down jacket last week and yesterday they had marked down the price an additional $30 so I called them and they adjusted the price. Another bonus of Land's End is that they have a lifetime guarantee on their products. You can't beat that!

  • Verizon

11/18/11

Verizon's service is decent but WAY overpriced! Their website is both slow and confusing. If you want to do anything other than get a general overview or pay your bill, you will need to take a Tylenol for the pain that will come to your butt. I'm on the unlimited talk/data plan and wanted to use the "usage analysis" feature to see which plan would best fit my usage - guess they don't offer that service to unlimited customers. For the high cost of service, this is a disappointing web site.

  • Puritan's Pride

11/18/11

Would give 4 stars but Puritan's Pride sends too much email for my taste, even after opting out of it. Besides that aggravation, this is a great site company to get vitamins at a decent price. They have buy 2, get 3 free offers all the time and usually waive s/h fees with a minimum order. Very quick deliveries on their products.

  • Carousel Checks

11/18/11

Found this site on a Google search for checks that have Yorkshire Terriers on them - they had many options and the prices were WAY lower than the bank's and a most of the other online check printers. Their shipping and handling charges were a little much though. The site is easy to navigate and it allows you to re-review the information you typed.

  • Perezhilton

11/18/11

This is just one huge ad-supported site with an annoyingly flaming-gay touch. If I want trash/gossip news, I go to TMZ. Perez has a history of being very viscous to people and is a disgrace to the gay community!

  • PetFinder

11/17/11

No matter the breed, sex or age - this site seems to have them all! I have decided rather than purchase my next dog from a breeder, I will check out available animals on this site. You can search by age, sex, breed, species and location. This is a VERY well designed site. Sometimes it's a little heartbreaking to read the stories of the little critters looking for homes. Before you buy from a breeder, consider adopting from here!

  • Gay.com

11/17/11

Years ago this was the site that set the standard. Now it seems to be on its last leg and there are vultures circling around it because of all the nearly-dead trolls that seem to be its primary audience now. I used to be a 'premium' member but quit when the ad-bots and phishing scams became so overwhelming that I quit using the site. They REALLY need to hire some people with fresh ideas and overhaul the design of the site.

  • Dlisted

11/18/11

When I want to read irreverent gossip and get a good laugh, I turn to dlisted. Some of the writers say the funniest things! It's a step up from perez in my book.

  • IMDb

11/18/11

Every time I want to know about a movie or performer I turn to IMDB. It has a very large and complete database of just about everything Holly Wood. There is even trivia and little nuggets of information you might not get elsewhere. Best of all, this wonderful service is free!

  • South Park Studios

11/17/11

The site to see South Park! The video quality is very good and it's not swamped with too much advertising. Love this show!

  • Hulu

11/17/11

Starting to lose its appeal. Many shows that used to be free are now premium member only. We had a Hulu Plus membership for a while but figured it's not worth the cost if you still have to sit through advertisements during your shows. Another thing that is making Hulu less-attractive is the fact that you have to wait a week or more after the original air date to see some of the more popular shows.

  • Myspace

11/17/11

Ugh! What happened to this site? It used to be my favorite site and everyone I knew was on it. Now it is a bogged-down advertisement with a dwindling subscriber base. Too bad they lost their way!

  • CNET

11/17/11

This is the site to go to for some of the latest news and reviews in the electronic world. Not only can a person glean tons of valuable information, they can safely download software here too.

  • Target

5/22/12

If Target would improve the search functions and layout, I would give it 6 stars. You get get almost anything delivered for free if you're a target red card customer and it's delivered fast. Saving you another 5-8 bucks and time of going to the store.

  • Zagat

12/4/11

I am starting to think Zagat is going down the toilet and is going to eventually create a mess! Several of the recommended establishments were total disappointments. The fact that they want ~$25/yr to be a member for most-likely owner-submitted glowing reviews is a letdown. Yelp obliterates this site!

  • GoTags

12/3/11

At $2 a tag and $3 shipping (they use a $0.44 stamp in a small envelope), you get what you pay for. I was expecting an embossed (stamped) tag. What I got was a disappointing tag with a cheaply applied paint with the information I submitted.
