Many customers express frustration with customer service, citing slow responses and inadequate support for returns and refunds. I used to LOVE Zenni, and now I HATE it! Prices have gone up dramatically. I used to be able to get tints on my glasses, and now there are no options for that. And they try to upsell you on all these expensive add-ons. And the chat help is a joke! Was a disappointment!
Got my glasses from Zenni and it was not what I expected. Each lens looked extremely different from the other and it just looked really bad. Tried to get the lab to fix it and they said bc of my prescription there was nothing they could do. Yet I just got my new glasses from Eyebuydirect and it came out perfect. If they can get it right there is no reason why Zenni can't if they consider themselves professional glasses company. Will never buy from them again
After mostly good experience with Zenni for a couple of years, I ordered a new pair of
Glasses with a minor prescription change, but the same frame and lense style. When they
Arrived, I noticed a yellow tint, similar to pale urine. It made colors appear less
Vibrant and my wife said they made me look older.
Zenni customer service stated that the basic lenses had been "upgraded" to
Their "Blokz" feature, a yellow tint to block blue light. Since this was not
Stated during the order process, I asked that they be replaced with normal clear,
Colorless lenses. But they said that that was only available for an additional
"upgrade" for about $30.
While reordering, I saw that the originally ordered lenses clearly stated that they were
Clear and untinted. So I asked Zenni customer service if the lenses were indeed clear
And colorless. Since they assured me they were, I reordered as before assuming the
Previous order had been a fluke. But when the second pair arrived, they too were
Urine-colored. Zenni refused to remake the glasses with colorless lenses although they
Had them available -- they demanded additional payment to provide what had already been
Promised.
Some may prefer to look at the world through urine-colored glasses. Zenni is a good
Source for them.
Loved the glasses but the magnetic sunglasses that were included did not fit properly and ruined the lenses. It took beyond the 14 day return period to show up. They are now refusing to stand behind their product. That was the second set of glasses and I would have ordered more but since they do not stand behind their product I cannot do that. Buyer beware.
Zenni has previously been one of my two go-to places for glasses, so they were my first stop when I needed a new prescription in November 2023. I ordered three new pairs with ultra high index digital progressives during their 30% off Black Friday sale, and was pleased how quickly they arrived. Regrettably, however, the lenses on all three pairs were made improperly, and far off my ordered prescription. The quality of the frames for all three was also a little lower than previous pairs of Zennis I have.
As advertised, Zenni promptly responded to my concerns and issued a return and refund, at no cost to me. However, they refused to honor the 30% off sale price on the re-order of the same glasses with the correct lenses. Had I re-ordered, the same three pairs would have cost me almost $100 more, so I decided to take my business elsewhere.
I re-ordered new glasses from EyeBuy Direct instead, and they were perfect, including the frames being slightly better quality. Too bad for Zenni, as they lost more than $500 in my business.
I ordered 2 pairs of glasses and paid extra for Rush delivery for an upcoming road trip. One pair was rushed and the other wasn't. I contacted Zenni to learn that they didn't offer Rush on the second pair, even though they accepted my payment for Rush delivery. I asked why they didn't tell me that at the time I placed the order, so I might have selected a different pair. No answer and no refund. Won't use these clowns again.
I bought prescription safety glasses that brought after using them less than a dozen times. Zenni refused to repair, replace or refund bc it was past their 30 day warranty. The side, ear peice of the frame should not have just snapped. Cheap product.
Frames cute, lenses work, if anything goes wrong after 30 days, you are out of luck. Lenses popped out, cheap frame broke after a few months of use and they won't fix it.
Ordered lenses for meta quest 3 and thay are out of focus. Asked them to resolve this and no response
I ordered these glasses from zenni because they said my insurance would cover them.they arrived late, they were made flimsy and on top of that my insurance wouldn't cover them so if I were a buyer of glasses do your homework. SHOP HOMEWORK ELSE!. If you want cheap glasses that will break in a few weeks go with Zenni.
If you need progressive lenses this is definitely not the place to go. They use a generalized segment height based on averages which means your progressive segments may not be lined up proper for your vision at all. I had this happen and it isn't fun for headaches or any type of activity as your vision will be crazy off in every segment. This should only be done in person with the tech looking you eye to eye same height etc. In person only! They told me "while our tech may not work for everyone we find that MOST customers are satisfied" which to me just means those satisfied customers just don't know any better. What a ripoff!
This was my first/last time trying Zenni. Frames are cheap, but one of the prescriptions (ordered two same script diff frames everyday glasses) is off - super blurry. Been trying to get a refund for 3 days because they obviously got the script wrong. Their CS is very slow - wonder if they're trying to drag out process to the 14 day mark to avoid refund. Extremely annoying. Have been ordering glasses online for 10+ years, never had this much difficulty.
Ordered 2 pairs of glasses, both seemed defective sent them back for testing, were then lost! Zenni offered to redo the glasses, but at that point I asked for a refund, which they did immediately, appreciate this was done without any hassle!
I've been using Zenni for years to purchase additional pairs after getting my initial pair from the optometrist.
After this last experience I will NEVER buy another pair from the optometrist again. First, they cost me $325 after insurance. I wear progressive lenses so a proper measurement on the lenses is very important. The only way I could read with these was to raise the glasses with one hand while reading. I ordered two pair from Zenni withe the exact same prescription and both pair are perfect. My eyes got used to them immediately. After a 30% discount, I got both pairs for $109 taxes and shipping included. And better yet, one pair has transition lenses. On one pair, I went with the $6.95 (Item# *******) plastic frames, and the other frame ($29.95, Item# *******) is a really nice mixed material (plastic & metal) frame with flex hinges on the arms. A frame like this would easily cost $240-300 through my optometrist. If you're into the brand names, this is not your place, but if you simply want quality eyewear at a very reasonable price, this site is for you.
I have purchased several glasses from Zenni over the years and have been quite pleased. The arms of the glasses I just ordered really began to loosen and wouldn't stay on. This was clearly a design flaw. Because this manufacturing defect was not evident within the 30-day return timeframe, I am unable to return them. I wish only to receive a credit so I can get a different pair. A 30-day warranty on eyewear is ridiculous. Many manufacturing and design flaws on glasses are not evident within the first month of wearing them. I will be going elsewhere for glasses in the future.
My glasses from Zenni were perfect they fit great and I can see perfectly with them good quality for an amazing price I d highly recommend them. I m very pleased with them.
I ordered a pair of prescription progressive lenses with a really great frame from Zenni. The lenses are a disaster - to look thru the far vision portion I have to tuck my chin into my chest, the closer vision portion provides a very narrow portion of the lens with zero prescription on either side, the reading portion I have to tilt my head backwards. I used the customer service chat feature and it was heavily implied I don't understand how progressive lenses work. I have been wearing them for over 20 years, so actually I do have a pretty good idea of how they work. I have even had progressives from Zenni with no issues. The best they can offer is a store credit, which does me no good if they can't get the lenses correct. Zenni's position is that this is the way they have always done progressives so the problem just simply can't be theirs. I will never order from Zenni again and I'm out $150.
I tried twice and received very poor lenses. The first time I received my glasses the lenses were not the correct prescription. I was told I could return them for credit and repurchase. I did repurchase and the second lenses were actually worse. Now their response is they cannot do anything. Such poor quality of product and service. Buy from anywhere else!
Purchased same glasses. They only buffed one lense. Other lense has chips. Lense thicker than previous pair. Why did I pay extra for lower tier service. Won't be using again.
I ordered glasses for my teenager. As both his regular and back up pair broke. Paid $23.95 plus the price of glasses to get a RUSH shipment. Suppose to receive them in 3-5 days. Order was placed on the 5th of the month it is now the 14th. Still no glasses and the status says processing with no change.
I have contacted customer service two times and what a joke! All they say is sorry and we will have the lab contact you. We will expedite them to you. But they can not tell you when the order will be ready or what stage they are currently in. They leave you on chat for 10 plus minutes between comments. The lab and no one ever contacts me. I had to fight them to get a refund on the RUSH payment since it's been way past their guaranteed time of 3-5 days
Worst customer service ever! They have no answers and do not care if you get your order.
At this point I feel like this company took my money and is not going to deliver my product!
Would not recommend! Will never order from them again!
Answer: Hi. We are sorry to tell you that we have recently and temporarily discontinued delivery to Spain. We hope to ship there again soon and we encourage you to check our website frequently to see when it is available again.
Answer: I had no problem with returning my initial pair of glasses. I contacted customer service via online chat and explained my reason for return and I was told I would receive 100% credit that could be applied to my reorder. I followed the return instructions given and kept track via USPS and the transaction went smoothly without any glitches.
Answer: Hi Reginald, thank you for your question! We do not manufacture only lenses, or lenses for non-Zenni frames. I am sorry about any inconvenience!
Answer: Hi. Yes, store credit is one of the options available when you contact us during the 30-day warranty period. And our Customer Service department will be eager to help you with the return. Please call us at 1-800-211-2105, email us at service@zenni.com, or chat with us live by clicking on the floating Support button that appears near the bottom-right corner of any page on our website and a representative will issue a return authorization number and provide return instructions.
Answer: Hi. Progressive lenses contain three viewing areas: distance-, intermediate-, and near-vision - the distance vision area is near the top of the lens, the near vision area is at the bottom, and the intermediate vision area is in the middle. The clear viewing area is located in the central "corridor" of the lenses, so there can be a noticeable but expected blur when looking toward the edges of the lenses. Due to this design, and because there are slight differences between progressive lenses across brands, someone new to wearing progressive lenses may initially experience some difficulty adjusting to them; likewise, someone who is already accustomed to wearing one brand of progressive lenses may have some difficulty adjusting if they switch to a different brand, and they will find that it it will take some time to become accustomed to the new lenses. Despite the period of adaptation needed, we are happy to report that we do not receive a disproportionate number of complaints about our progressive lenses. However, we don't ever want to assume that needing time to adjust to the lenses is the only reason a customer could be having difficulty with their glasses; consequently, if you have recently purchased progressive lenses, and have problems seeing clearly through them, we encourage you to contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-211-2105. Doing so will give us an opportunity to address the issue and to offer you a proper resolution. Thank you for posting your question.
Answer: I had the same experience. Very disappointing. When I called about the problem they questioned the accuracy of my prescription. I was able to return them for a Zenni credit, less shipping costs. Waiting to see if the second pair is better...
Answer: Yes, it costs a little more for bifocal lenses. It does not however cost as much as it does in a typical eyeglass office/store.
Answer: None. There is no guarantee on anything (lenses or frames) beyond 30 days.
