Since the World Market stores were closed during the Clovid-19 Pandamic, I placed a food order online. What a mistake that was. I wish I had read the reviews on this website.
The first time it was sent, UPS sent it back because of the package was damaged. World Market sent it out again and the same problem happened. Obviously they do not train their personnel on how fragile items should be packaged. Now for the last 3 weeks the package has been stuck in some UPS warehouse awaiting a decision by World Market. I have placed an email complaint and received a case number. Nobody has gotten back with me in the last 2 weeks. I called repeatedly, and after a very caring sounding message by them, nobody answers. Just now I held over an hour. Then I found this website. I decided to not waste any more time today. I never received the goods, but they have my money. I'll go through my Credit Card and will apply for a resolution by them.
After an extremely poor experience the 1st time I said let me give them a second try. 2nd order came after 10 days and short an item. Call customer service spoke to a representative she said please hold on a minute 15 minutes later I had to hang up. Reached out next by email it is now 72 hours later no response from them. So many better companies out there did the a with I should have known better. CAVIOT EMPTOR
I Had amazing experience of shopping in new World Market store in Manchester, CT. I loved service and friendly environment.
I loved the great diversity in food and kitchen supplies, loved helpful sales people. I wish to have more such experience in different stores I go.

I placed an order on December 2nd and never received a confirmation email for the order. I called one week later, they have me my order number and told me the items should be shipped within 2 days. Today, almost 2 weeks later, I receive an email stating my order is delayed. I called customer service today to cancel my order and I was told it's too late to cancel. There were no supervisors available to speak to me, so who knows if and when I will receive my items or a call back. I DO NOT recommended World Market for online orders!
Problems with online orders, problems with in store pick up, problems with being overcharged - and no one at the store, or the 877 number, or the online chat had any interest in helping sort them out. There are too many other stores with comparable products and MUCH better customer service to waste time here
I placed an order online and the next day the price lowered. I called and told them. They made the adjustments. Now three days later the price drops a lot more. When I brought that to their attention, I was told they wouldn't refund me anymore even though their policy states that if your products price drops within 10 days, they would make adjustments. Terrible company.
I placed an order for Black Friday including a gift my daughter really wanted that I couldn't find elsewhere and apparently their system couldn't verify credit cards and sent emails to customers to call in. Waited forever and customer service said they still didn't resolve problem call back later. Called back later and they said it would go through on MOnday not to worry and stuff wouldn't go out of stock. I had these weird emails from them though still so I called to just check and sure enough - the order (and I assume many other customers' orders) didn't go through, and my daughter's gift was now out of stock and they couldn't fill my order. Worst is they know this was a tech prob on their end but they won't offer customers anything for the time/hassle/loss of goods. Really bad customer service and really bad planning for biggest sale day of year.
I do not have a World Market near me, so when I visited one, I was thrilled. I spent $100 and bought Christmas gifts on Dec. 7. By the time I got back to a World Market to return several of the Christmas gifts, it was Feb. 15, eight days past their return policy date. I asked for a store credit. I had the receipt, the items were still in the store at full price, but they refused... they wouldn't even give me a store credit! They upset me all for $30!
Received e-mail stated my order would arrive between December 15-19,4 days later received e-mail that my order would not arrive until December 29. These gifts were for family that live out of state and they would have left before the gifts arrived. Call was told that they were really backed up, not my problem. Never again.
Ordered 2 benches on cyber Monday for an important event in 1.5 weeks, received an email at 6am Saturday that the order was cancelled due to unavailability.
When I called Benches were magically available at full price and was told I would have to reorder at full price and would be refunded the difference! And it would be considered a new order with another 5-10 business day processing+shipping wait!
This was for the linen covered "Page" dining benches.

I recently had an order for in store pickup that was cancelled soon after it was placed. Availability showed 2 items in stock at a local store (and still does at the time of this review - 2 days after my order was cancelled). When brought up with customer service, I was told it wasn't available at the store and sorry for the inconvenience. After suggesting they ship to the same store or a nearby store, I was told again that it was not at that store or a nearby store and sorry for the inconvenience. My expectations were that they had correct inventory at all of their stores, and if it there was a problem with that inventory, they would have offered an equal item at the same cost at the very least, if they were truly out of stock. After several exchanges with customer service, I have given up, and just decided not to do business with this company.
Tried to buy tasting dishes at the "All kitchen sale" and was told by the cashier when I asked why these items weren't ringing up, "well, I'll check, but..." I said, "But what?" A manager came over and told me "ceramics aren't part of the sale." I also purchased CERAMIC salt and pepper shakers that rang up properly. When questioned about this, he told me tasting dishes were not used in a kitchen and therefore were not part of a kitchen sale. Wow! He's obviously correct. No person I've ever known has used "dishes" in their kitchen. That's like saying toilets aren't part of the "All bathroom sale" because toilets aren't used in a bathroom. This place is a joke. The cashier than had the gall to ask me if I wanted to sign up to be a "member." No thanks.
I have only purchased items from World Market on line twice and both times has been a problem. As many others have said here, when you purchase on line it says is in stock. Then you go to pick it up at the shop and you realize the order is incomplete, the manager says he doesn't know what happened, but the rest will arrive at some point. In my case, I ordered 4 bottles of Herdez Chipotle cream. I received the wrong salsa, and only 3 bottles not 4. I paid $25.45. I went to return the order to the shop nearest to me. I showed my order purchase and they refunded me only $12.35. I pointed out that was wrong, she says, we can not refund the shipping cost which was $9 and I said what about the other bottle? She said you only returning 3 so I can't refund the other one! I said, you never send it to me but I paid for 4 bottles! She said there was nothing she can do. This is a total scam! The other time I bought something on line it was for a set of 10 forks and 10 knifes. They sent an email that the order was ready for a pick up. I went and the order was incomplete, there were only 5 forks and 4 knifes. Their explanation, that was the only they had in stock! Why don't you email the customer informing of this? I don't want an incomplete set! Again, it smells like they are shady and liars. It looks like to me a class action law suit should be set up because this company lies and deceives customers all the time.

DO NOT ORDER, never received my order they refuse to refund me unless I make a police report for $27! They would rather lose customers than do the right thing. I will never order from this company again!
I placed an order for sofa in Black Friday out of so many good deals. Was happily expecting the sofa while it took two weeks to find out that it was lost in the shipment. Ok, fine, I contact the customer service and they say they'll reship and it will be delivered within 3 business days. Not happy but still forgive them and waited for another week. ONE MONTH passed, and they suddenly sent an email saying that the order was CANCELLED! An email with few sentences, no respect especially when they say that they've reshipped and kept you waited for a month. LIAR
DO NOT SHOP ON LINE. What a mess, I spent over a thousand dollars on two loveseats and never recieved them. They said we recieved the full order according to their tracking info. Where did they get that info? I know one of them is at a shipping warehouse about 100 miles away. I have no idea where the second one is. I ordered them a month ago. I will never order on line from World Market again.
I tried to buy an item to pick up in-store and placed my order but turned out their inventory wasn't accurate so then I ended up ordering it online. However, it was taking forever (over 10 business days), then the tracking stopped for 5 business days so I requested a refund. I received an e-mail that I would be receiving a refund within 3-5 days. I e-mailed to ask where the refund was and then they said that the tracking was subsequently updated and that it arrived. I never got the package. Contrary to what they said previously, they said that NO refund would be issued even if the package was never delivered and that it was up to me to file a police report for this $15 item. I asked why they didn't contact the courier and figure it out with them, and why I needed to waste my time filing a police report when this wasn't my fault. I will never order from them again.
I purchased 4 forest green Lydia dining chairs. The chairs arrived without the legs. Who packs a box of chairs without the legs? Unbelievable. When I called the company regarding the issue, I was informed that parts and services will contact me between 3-5 business days. So, I will not receive the legs of the chairs for another two weeks. So dissatisfied and disappointed in the company. I will not be purchasing from World Market. They are unreliable and do not care about inconveniencing their customers.
I LOVE this store. They have awesome furniture, wine etc. If you join their email you get pints and earn rewards. If you have their credit card they send you birthday coupons for $10 off and if you spend so much per year you get a $25 gc for your bday!
I'm beyond disappointed in this company. This is my first and last purchase. I ordered a kitchen table with a marble top. It was super heavy to get into my apartment. When I opened the box, the marble was cracked in three places. I called & they said they would send me a new one. I asked for assistance getting it out of my place since it's so heavy (I'm 5'3 on a good day). They said suuuure no problem. I didn't hear from anyone for 2wks. Meanwhile the new table was delivered & you can hardly move in my apartment with 4 huge boxes. I finally get a call from the shipping company & they said they can only come weekdays between 1-5. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of not having to work until 5pm. They referred me back to World Market, and the supervisor never responded to my call. If I could give a negative 0 rating I would. Awful awful awful!
Answer: When you are on the site, it should tell you weather it's available for shipping or in-store pickup. If not, call the 800 number, they are very helpful
