Can't get a straight answer out WM (retailer) or SEKO (shipper) where my order is that was placed at the beginning of May. Asked for a refund and was told that I couldn't receive one until the shipment was found.
I should've read the reviews first to know that World Market will steal your money.
I found the most beautiful couch as this store. I was excited and was willing to pay whatever I needed. Calling the store to confirm its arrival as I was told it would be in the day before I called and was told that the new date was 1-2 weeks before arrival. I asked the clerk to confirm which date it would be. I explained that I was going to be having breast cancer surgery and needed a piece of furniture in my home. The clerk then told me that I could go to another store and buy a sofa from another company if I wanted too…I couldn't believe the customer service!
We ordered a bookshelf from world market and when it arrived, we had boxes 1 and 1 when it was supposed to be boxes 1 and 2. So they came to pick up one or the boxes before they'd ship box 2 to us. Then they reshipped box 2 except when it arrived it was box 1 again! Then it took another week to ship out box 2. It hasn't arrived yet, so we'll see if they get it right this time.
Spent $200 on these pouf ottomans. Withing 6 months of very limited use, both have lost their shape and one has a tear in the fabric. Pure garbage considering what we paid for them.
I ordered a bookcase, dresser and sofa. Pilot (3rd party delivery) left the bookcase and the sofa outside my residence….
I called and was told World Market didn't pay for them to bring it in my home. It was curbside. Hmmm no no it wasn't, I ordered online and paid for delivery.
I can't recommend ordering from this company nor using Pilot for Any delivery service.
Highly disappointed
I went to buy some things in store, and happened to find some clearance items that I thought I could use. When o got to the register, one item marked 9.99 rang up as $50, and she fixed it to 13.50. Other items rang up weird prices and she acted like I was trying to pull one over on her. I found them like that, and just thought I could use them. I then tried using a coupon that I received two days ago and definitely never used, but it said it was used apparently. I gave up at that point, and rang everything up. I then noticed that she had in fact over charged me even after I thought she fixed it, so I went back through after picking up an online order. I got a different, much nicer cashier, and she said they could honor the coupon and fix the price on the thing that got over charged. We had to ring a whole new order to get the coupon applied which I figured would be okay. When she gave me my refund receipt, I didn't realize until I got home that she had just give me back the original receipt, so I don't even know if she actually refunded me. It was such a waste of time, and these are errors within the company, so I don't know why I got the runaround. I emailed the company to verify that a refund went through but haven't heard back. I'll be waiting to see if it comes through, but at this point, I kinda feel like they just double charged me… and especially seeing all the reviews, it seems this is company-wide and common. I'll happily update my review if this issue gets fixed, but at this point, I would definitely say to please don't shop at world market. Definitely go spend twice as much somewhere else because that's what you'll be paying here, and maybe you'll get treated better than gum on someone's shoe.
I ordered a $500 daybed from them several months ago and I do understand with Covid the delay in receiving it, once I finally received the daybed it was seriously damaged I have written and called. When I call I get no answer and no one has responded in three weeks.
Poor communication. Rude customer service. Undelivered furniture during quoted week. No email notification of new delivery date. Still have not received the purchase of four chairs online.
I placed an order 13 days ago and my order status still says "open". I did receive an email about orders taking longer than usual during covid19 but I had ordered items from Overstock and Bed Bath and Beyond (each stating shipping delays) after I placed an order from World Market and have received those items over a week ago so the excuse they're giving is a load of bull. I also ordered items from Turkey yesterday and they have already shipped and I'm set to receive those in less than a week. My World Market order, 13 days later, STILL hasn't even been fulfilled or shipped. Even under normal circumstances, I won't be ordering from World Market again in the future.
I purchased 2 sets of glasses expecting them well before Christmas. Never saw them. When I called customer service they said there were delivered. They even said they had a picture of the package on my porch taken by the FedEx driver. Couldn't produce it for me to see. I was told I had to file a police report before they could do anything. I did. About 3 weeks later a package arrives with 1 of the 2 sets of glasses. I called back and was told shipment was split and the second 2nd set of glasses was being sent separately. A week later no package so I called back and again was told it was shipped and I should receive it by Friday 1/27/23. I asked for the shipping tracking number but she said there was none. Hmmm. That tells me it was never shipped. The 27th came and went with no package. Called again no response. Asked for a supervisor, none available. What a way to run a business.
Arrived damaged, poor quality control, can't return to store, wait a week for Fedex to pick up, can't drop package to them, fed ex then screws up the pick up. Been stuck with this huge box in my living room for a week now. DREADFUL EXPERIENCE, never again will I order online from world market.
My name is Luda and I bought yesterday a daybed from the store located in Brooklyn, NY. It was unbelievable experience from the first call I made to the putting my daybed in my car. Would. I so happy with my beautiful daybed and with the service I got there. I would like to really express my gratitude to the people, who was helping me, Eija, Idan and the young beautiful girl (sorry forgot her name but she help me to put the boxes in my car). Everybody are professional people and very, very nice.
I received an email from World Market advertising a sale on an item I was interested in purchasing. When I went to their site to purchase the item, the sale price was not honored. After speaking to several people, including 2 supervisors, they could not find anything about the sale. I forwarded a copy of the email to them and was told since they didn't know anything about the sale I could purchase the item at full price and they would refund the amount over the sale price. I couldn't trust that they would in fact refund me so I didn't purchase the item from them. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it was something I wanted to give my daughter for Christmas. It was very frustrating so i found something elsewhere.
Fell in Love with World Market in Santa Barbara. Been a faithful customer for more than 12 yrs.

Worst customer service ever. Can't get my order, can't get a response. Will Trying doing a charge back for this insanity. $107 order. 16 days and not tracking. Due at the house 6 days ago. NO tracking information. Sent an email Jan 5th. Automated response, "expect a response to you shortly" 6 days later no response.
NOw it is 7 days since the order should have been here, still no response, no order and no tracking number
Who ever the CEO is, is looking to save on taxes by running World Market into the ground. A bunch of fat cats buy World Market from Bed Bath Beyond when customer service was customer service and now these fat egotistical fat cats have nothing better to do then ruin a business and add more anger and frustration to the world as we try and find a live person to help get an order. Well done Fat Lazy, perimysium's. You might have a lot of money but you're still bottom feeders.
Doing a Charge back and will pray for the employees at World Market when it crashes, they will find good jobs and loose little in the interim.
I've shopped in their stores several times and have always been pleased. I bought a new home just before the pandemic and desperately needed some furniture. I turned to World Market because they had great sales and very fast delivery ranges. I ended up spending $2500 on 2 matching outdoor sofas, the matching outdoor chairs, the matching coffee table, 6 of the same dining chairs chair, and 4 other outdoor occasional chairs. I was never given tracking and the order remained "open." After a week, I received an email telling me that 4/6 of the dining chairs were unavailable. I tried calling and emailing to cancel the 2 chairs since I wanted 6, but couldn't get through. I attempted to reach out on social media since they were posting ads every day and only received a generic, robotic response to call or chat, which were both not working. After 2 weeks, I was contacted by a freight company - they had 2 of the chairs to deliver. They arrived, but were missing the pillows that were supposed to come with them. I tried to call and email again - nada. After 3 weeks, the remaining items arrived. The sofas were both completely cracked as were the matching chairs. Again, I could not get through to world market and had a ton of broken furniture and broken, filthy boxes in my house. Thankfully AMEX refunded our money. I will never ever order from World Market again and would encourage others to do the same.
Never got anything ordered each order I placed got cancelled for out of stock. In my opinion, this is not acceptable- 3 orders cancelled is one too many. Do better.
Sometimes I shop at world market location: Rockville ( federal plaza) and I wanted to appreciated the person works there (Heath) he is very kind and helpful, thanks to him and also the store is very organized and clean.
Ordered the distressed sofa table. It came broken. Ordered a replacement. Also broken. Ordered a 3rd like an idiot - Still broken... complete garbage and I have to wait up to 48 hours to talk to a supervisor because they "couldn't find one" to talk to me.

Right in the door we knew how much time should be the focus of the customer. Not buying stuff. Later closer to 8 I'm sitting on a chair with a wine bottle waiting for my wife in the distance trying to ask the manager and getting flack and no answers about ten minutes. We're 61 and 55 and got racist treatment because of our mixed raceness. Are you together. Are you waiting for someone. Questions to criminalize and disrespect us. Something you wouldn't ask a person you respected. She was so conscious if her clocking out. She lost site if her customers and treated them like dirt. Later in line she and her rude cashier let us have it by talking over us. Much to their chagrin they did stay later by their own mmeanness. It took them 15 minutes to explain the price difference of the 7.99 wine that was really 11.99. They were so mean and hostile to us I just walked out and said to my beautiful wife. Honey I gotta go. Good luck getting a fair price and/ or explanation and left. By 8:15 she was back in the car. I am personally afraid to return myself. I've never been so attacked personally in my life. This manager singled us out and made us very uncomfirtab I e. Usually world market is very civilized but I think this manager is not representative of world markets values. Bully. Closemindedness. We love world market. Fascinating place to visit and we always buy something unique from them. On my last order, they offered SAME DAY curbside pickup. The mail I got said do not go to the store until I was contacted. I waited all day and finally called just before closing. The lady who answered told me they were running 48 - 72 hours behind. I told her if I had known that I would have just picked it up in the store. She started telling me about this big sale and all the orders they had received and they were backed up. Excuse excuse excuse. I tried to explain that as a customer I was now screwed because I was going to have to wait 48 - 72 hours for something I need today. I told her if they had let me know, I would have just gone into the store. She then told me the store policy was they would not print the ticket until they were ready to fulfill it. Again not my issue but she would not listen. I told her they should give options to the customer if they cannot meet the demand. In frustration, I finally asked to speak with the store manager. She told me she was the store manager and had been for 3 years. The logic just escapes me. So now the item I wanted for today that I agreed to do curbside pickup I cannot get until they decide they will be ready for me to come get it and it could be as long as 3 days and zero help from a manager. Store policy my butt. Last time I will ever shop there. Plenty of other places.
Answer: When you are on the site, it should tell you weather it's available for shipping or in-store pickup. If not, call the 800 number, they are very helpful
