Wix is a shame. Wix will silently enable auto-renew and Zero value to customers calls, and don't revert the amount. I sent multiple requests to revert as my daughter signed up to sell cup cakes for non-profit to help undeserved kids in 2020 and Wix silently enabled the auto-renewal. I provided the explanation but they did not care and kept rejecting my request. They can't even support the good cause, and keeping full renewal amount of $356.72. Invoice# *******
I started my blog/discussion forum (General Commentary) on Wix as an alternative to the thoughtless posts and comments on other social media platforms. Though I had to pay a few bucks and what-not, I was surprised at how easy it was to start up my website. I'm not even an expert at computers and I managed to do all of this. My website is not generating a lot of money, and only one person has read and commented on one of my posts. However, it was still a good user-friendly experience. I would rate Wix 5 out of 5 stars, but I decided on 4 because I'm cautious. Now if I could generate more views, comments, and money, that would merit 5 stars!
I have been using wix for a couple of years by now.
They have been improving their options.
Price wise... well... there are better prices around. They should consider competition.
But overall, I'd say a good catch and choice.

Had no problems with this one at all. I needed to create my own online shop and with the students money I couldnt afford buying everything necessary. So as a temporary solution this service was of great help. Now the shop is functioning as it should but I`m anyway very grateful to this service for such an easy start.
Worked with me to resolve problem.
A customer service # is hard to find. I never saw it on the site but when I printed out my invoice it was on the bottom. *******949 by the way. So minus a star for that not being accessible but when I did get a hold of someone they were awesome. I had failed to turn off auto renew, they refunded me even though it was my fault.
Wix is better than others I have tried for site building I just didn't have the time to make my sites work for me and $ just got tight. So the core service they offer is good. If they offered more access to customer service, like a find-able # and/or chat, at least for the payed plans, I would say they are a very good value.
Now anyone willing to learn the simple web site designer that wix offers can build a great website with Search Engine Optimization and mobile capabilities. All of the people who hate this wix.com that I have met are in the business of charging customers a huge monthly charge for "Maintaining" your web site. Web site design and maintenance companies are going to go the way of travel agents (unless they already use wix.com)
I have hosted several sites on WIX for several years without problem and have had no need to contact help. However, a new website requires connecting to an existing domain which has failed to happen. No one to contact.
Very disappointed. Otherwise, the site builder is pretty well developed.
Wix owes me $138 for duplicate payment. I have been chasing them for 5 months. Still waiting. Was able to verify duplicate payment. Instead Wix Support said that Wix will lock me out of my account. He was right.
Support hangs up, never returns calls, and is inept.
Wix Contributors are con artists. Reported to Wix. They did nothing
Use WordPress instead. More responsive and aesthetically pleasing. Wix seems cheaper at first but the deeper you dig, you realize it will end up being more expensive with hidden costs for plugins. Even then it's not anywhere near as responsive- Wix doesn't look good on tablets... pretty much ever...
Purchased Google Ad package costing over $235.00 from Wix. Unbeknownst to me this was a monthly automatic renewal subscription. Wix refused to cancel the charge even though I phoned a day or two after the charge appeared on my credit card. Looked at the purchase steps following this refusal and noticed that the monthly requirement is noted only once in the entire purchase process (in fine print). Excuse was that they are only agents for Google. Hard to believe there is no provision in the agreement between the two companies dealing with refunds. I would suggest that Wix web site is over whelming and unless you are already an expert in on line selling, you will not be well served with this supplier.
I have tried to use a paid Wix plan but there was nothing available that I could not do with a free plan. Either way, Wix will try to nickel-and-dime you to death with upgrades you don't want or need. Their idea of CS is to send you to pre-written FAQ pages rather than try to resolve an issue using an actual human being. But you can be damn sure they would be highly insulted if, instead of paying your invoice with actual currency, you gave them, instead, a block of text explaining what currency is. And the most consistent thing about this platform is it consistently gets very low marks from its own customers. That is the primary reason I have never spent a dime on a Wix paid plan. If they are not willing to provide the premium service they charge hundreds of dollars a year for, there is no point in paying for it.
After spending two weeks building a site, I get calls saying, "your site is off center." Its perfect from the Wix editor! I was very happy with Wix, but now I feel their engineers overlook correctible issues. I read its a "known issue" which requires me RE-DOING all my work in columns...which is complicated because columns screw up the mobile view! Similarly, there are other glitches like not being able to resize mobile sections and being stuck with huge gaps. I'm very frustrated but give it 2 stars for what it does well. Its buying a nice car that only has a problem with the windshield randomly shattering.
F#*K Wix,...they hosed us on an auto renew AND then because we cancelled, shut down our website BEFORE our current paid subscription ended!
Fortunately we screenshot our Chat (they dont offer a transcript at the end of Chat, how convenient for them), nothing but a run-around, thanks to our credit card company, who helped us.
Check other reviews, people are being taken advantage of when auto renew is selected. No offer of discount for new plan, just straight up full blown retail charge to your card with the response that they will "Review" if and how much of a refund, it could take 20 days.
I have used WIX for years with no issue. Suddenly I see I am upgraded to premium, which I did not want, and am paying 4 times as much per month. I chatted with a CS agent who told me to cancel the premium, sign up again as basic, and request a refund. She ended the chat before I finished, after I asked how to resign up, and then the refund was denied. Beware of this company and their ability to suddenly upgrade you with no direct method of downgrading (per the CS representative) Looking for a new provider.
#1 it's very expensive. #2 there is no way to contact a living person for disputes. #3 they have gone out of their way to put as many barriers as possible to cancel your account. Dealing with Wix is a nightmare. Just don't sign up.
Would not recommend Wix auto renew charges feature. Wix charged my credit card early before the current premium subscription was finished. Attempts to cancel auto renew before new subscription was due to start did not work. Requests for refunds were denied. Please be careful!
I have had a Wix website for about three years and had set up autopay through PayPal which was about $4.95 a month. On July 4th, 2024, in the dead of night, Wix and PayPal authorized a $756.00 payment through autopay with no notice and without my permission. This was money set aside to attend my father's funeral. It was such a shock, my world fell out from under me. I am a disabled woman and $756.00 is a lot of money for me.
If you can get through their AI Bots, it's almost impossible to reach someone to talk to. I finally had a "chat exchange" and was told that the $756.00 payment was "non-refundable" but, that they would "make an exception" for me.
I canceled my website and notified PayPal.
Needless to say, Wix has not refunded my money and say that PayPal is holding it up through their "investigation." In the mean time, PayPal has instructed me to work with Wix to resolve the issue.
Apparently, these two billion dollar companies really need my money as I struggle to get to California by August 3rd for my dad's funeral.
I'm pretty sure that Wix uses Bots, as one of their email responses to me in regards to the funeral was, "I'm sorry you are missing something." Either they are Bots, or they are completely heartless.
What a horrific, horrible experience. What a horrific company.
Do the math. If they do this to even a 1000 people in the dead of night, they are making a lot! Check your bank accounts, folks. Wix and PayPal should not be allowed anywhere near your money.
I signed up for Wix solely to create a website with a Facebook Shop integration, a feature advertised on their platform. Imagine my disappointment when, after paying for a year-long subscription and launching my website, I discovered the Facebook Shop functionality would be discontinued in April! (I signed up at the end of March)
Wix failed to disclose this crucial information during the signup process. This feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. They happily took my money for a service they knew wouldn't be available for most of the subscription period.
Their suggestion of using unreliable third-party apps is not a solution. I expect a seamless integration, not a patchwork of untested workarounds.
Adding insult to injury, Wix denied my request for a refund on the remaining 11 months. This is outrageous! They essentially sold me a product they can't deliver and are refusing a refund only 18 days after the purchase.
I was not told about it, or who it was going to, or the increase in the monthly cost. I had to find out by ringing Vistaprint and someone from Wix returned the call. It was not a smooth transition. It was done without my permission. I was not told of the Wix log in details or the meaningless new site name, I only worked it out for myself. The website became useless and unfindable. Wix effectively refused to return it to working condition for me, and Vistaprint refused me the full refund I feel I am due. I feel Vistaprint blamed me for not reading the media reports of the change although they admitted they should have checked I had received all the information they believed I had. I cancelled the website and closed the account with Wix. I feel that was the best and only option as I no longer trust Vistaprint and by association Wix.
Please do not be swayed by the low entry price. This is the WORST website creation service available. I have been trying to get my PAID FOR business email going and they STOPPED IT BEFORE MY END OF PAID DATE.
I am done.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at support@wix.com for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
