After turning off the auto renewal we were still charged the annual fee ($265 CAD). It is impossible to get a hold of anyone or receive any help from their employees. I would highly recommend avoiding Wix or giving them any of your hard earned money.
I do not recommend Wix to anyone. They charge from my account more than $230 per year. But You can't contact them. As long as they get their money. That's all this company cares about. They has the worst customer assistance ever. You can not transfer your website, be careful. 0 stars.
Good luck evening figuring out how to submit a ticket, much less get a person on the phone. Much easier and quicker posting a negative review. For the money we spend on Wix, it should not be so frustrating getting help. I would suggest using another company that actually services their clientele.
They billed me twice for a domain renewal and refuse to refund their error. There is zero customer service, only auto replies to billing inquiries. Absolute garbage, don't give this company your credit card number.
They also attempted to auto renew months before my sites expiration date and the renewal term was switched from one year to two years.
The sites are slow, terribly optimized for mobile, and possibly the worst for search engines. On top of that, don't spend too much time designing your site or editing it, because at least once a week, Wix's design tools won't allow you to save all your work. 4 hours down the drain each week, at least! If you have a real business, stay away from Wix! You're much better off spending a little more money with Squarespace, Setmysite, or some kind of actual website solution. Wix is nothing but a toy... a very poorly designed toy.
Scam artists. Anyone with dignity takes care of long term customers. Wix has been charging me 17/month for years without mentioning it's now 12/month. When I went in to change plan they grayed out the option to do it for 1 year cause I'm in the middle of billing cycle and asked me to pay for 24 months. Needless to say, goodbye wix, I should have never trusted scammers. Wish there was 0 star rating
I bought an expensive forum plan from Wix and worked three days to transfer a forum to my new site, one post at a time. I was planning to delete the old forum but thank goodness I checked first. It seems that Wix had deleted my premium subscription without notice and without explanation. They didn't even send me an email to tell me why they did this. The chat help person said he couldn't give me any info and told me I would be contacted "as soon as possible" which should have been when they were doing this to me, know what I mean? I'd rate them 0 or -1 if I could, I worked myself to the bone and they just deleted my work for no reason. My site was not controversial, it was about genealogy! A hobby forum!
Do not waste your time regardless of how easy it is to use. Whats the point if your customers cant properly shop. If you are planning on designing a real website stay far away from here. They customer service sucks they will just send you in a complete circle round and around However I will be getting my money back from them. Court is next up and Im sewing for missed customers as well. I have videos of this crappy website just a complete bug fest. Then they did a update that turned a bad situation even worst. Wix.com stole my money. We started a monthly subscription but they took an entire years fee without warning.
Then they cancelled their relationship with the primary ap that my site was built around, "simply book me" again without warning. Because "simply book me" can no-longer connect to my wix page, it has destroyed my business, costing me in excess of $120,000. I called them but they refused to answer for a nearly a week, basically being closed the entire thanksgiving holiday. No emergency number is available. This not acceptable for a server that business are dependent on.
Avoid, avoid, avoid! I can't stress this enough! They repeatedly charged my bank account for a site has never been completed or ever gone live! Over $1,000 last month alone. I worked with my bank to reverse the charge, which they did. Today my account was again charged even though I made sure I have nothing active on WIX at all! It is impossible to reach customer service! This company should be investigated. Regulatory agencies, where are you?
My web guy says about Wix... Btw even though it says wix accepts payment express in New Zealand on their website as a benefit for their users The official verdict after lots of communication is that they don't.!

Unresponsive links on my site, content that keeps moving around even after it's been fixed repeatedly, customer service that refuses to accept responsibility for system glitches if I can even get customer service to respond, nickle and dime me to death for damned near everything useful... what's to like? Save yourself an enormous amount of time and your hard-earned money by going elsewhere. I am not positively impressed to say the least.
Something is going on with this company. Over the past few months, I haven't been able to reach a customer service representative or receive a call back when requested. Unfortunately, I will have to look at other sites. I can't afford to wait for their responses via email.
There have been many times that I have contacted support, and we end up walking through an issue for hours, and they are not able to resolve it. They tell me they will continue to look into it, and yet the issue never gets spoken about again. I have been calling about issues such as members responding to events, and in some cases, it shows their email address instead of their name on the member profile. This is very confusing when trying to figure out who is joining an event. Also, admins have no rights to modify a members profile section, which is necessary considering some members are computer illiterate and need assistance adding things. Also, with the ecommerce, members credit cards get declined regularly. It tells them that there is a technical error, and to try again later. I have been able to reproduce these issues and still, no assistance or resolution from WIX. Even though it is a cheaper tool, i guess the say that "you get what you pay for" truly applies here.
These people are criminal! They did the same to me. Ohio attorney general sent them letters and they still ignore them.! This shady company should be shut down and prosecuted. Used my Citi bank credit card and they don't do a thing but lie and don't protect their customers. Wix renewed my one year subscription on their own with out my consent. Identity theft all the way by white collar criminals.
Wix is decent, but the "pop up errors" KILL ME. I used Wix for about 6 months, and three times an error message popped up not allowing me to save my changes. The last straw came when I just updated all the pricing and descriptions on my services page... I got hit with the error message of death and all my changes were lost! There was no customer support or phone numbers I could get through to. I was only able to find support boards with people complaining about the same thing. It was a nightmare! I own a mom and pop auto repair shop and really don't have time for "errors" like this that waste 2 hours of my time. I switched to SetMySite 3 months ago and I'm pretty happy so far. Their websites are reliable and easy to edit yourself, plus I can always just email or call my account manager to make the website changes for me. It's a nice deal.
As for Wix, I'm done with them. Losing my work three times is three times too many :/
I have completed all the steps to transfer a domain away from Wix and was told it could take 8 days. Oddly enough when I transferred it to them my site was live with a few hours. So it appears they are not releasing for an unknown reason. Godaddy said everything was read on their side? The only thing I can find to do is submit a ticket. Who knows when it will be answered. UGH
I've been trying to reach anyone who can help me after they refunded my domain fee without my permission & then canceled my domain. My website is not up at all & no one will help me but I'm still paying. 4+ hours over 2 days on the phone in cues, talking to reps who can't help, being told they're too bogged down to respond... and they won't even consider refunding the rest of my subscription so I can go to a platform who can actually assist their subscribers? I've been with them for 6 years! No help, none at all?! Incredibly disappointed with this company!
It is not an intuitive tool to use and there are much better alternatives available.
Even worse than that, over 12 months after I stopped using wix, they invoiced be for another year's subscription without notifying me in any way before or after, which is in contravention of Australian Consumer Law. They denied my request for a refund without providing an explanation.
I strongly suggest considering all alternatives rather than using wix.
Wix has the worst customer assistance ever. They will not return any kind of phone calls whatsoever they refused to even after you make out tickets. Pretty pathetic to do that to customers that pay and have premium website. Having a premium website doesn't mean anything to them just as long as they get their money. That's all this company cares about.

The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..

Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
