I spent countless hours building my website. When it came time to connect it using my domain name, I couldn't. Why? When I attempt to connect my domain name, I got an error message ("sorry this name is being used by another user"). So I contacted Wix so-called Support, by the way the only way to contact them is by email, which you have to wait days for a response, if you ever get a response. So after I contact them and they responded several days later, I explained the problem even attached a print screen of the error message. They responded that I still had an old account, which was under a different email address which I no longer had. I had an account with Wix about 2 yrs ago, which was a monthly account that I cancelled. Well, thanks to Wix so-called Support, it didn't get cancelled.

I sent a response that the account was suppose to been closed 2 yrs ago. Several days later, I get a response from a different so-called Support person saying the account was closed. REALLY, then why can't I connect domain. Couple days later, NO Let me tell you I signed up for this 14 day free trial 3 times and cancelled for the same reason, hoping they would fix the problem because I really hated to cancel it because it look GREAT plus all the time I had spent building it, plus I was scheduled to go online November 1,2015. Well this was the LAST TIME dealing with this so-called Support Team! My reason for cancelling this time way, "Reviews are right, your Support Team is a JOKE." I also added that they were trying to delay fixing the problem until the 14 day free trial was up and I couldn't get my money back.

For all these reviews giving Wix a 5 star review, MUST be getting paid. Wix is far from even thinking about a 5 star review.

I recently had the pleasure of using Wix.com to create my own website, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed! As someone with no coding knowledge, I was initially skeptical about building a website from scratch, but Wix.com proved to be the perfect solution.

One of the first things that caught my attention was the stunning high-definition visuals offered by Wix.com. The platform provides an extensive collection of beautiful templates, allowing me to choose a design that perfectly matched my vision. Each template is crafted with precision and attention to detail, ensuring a professional and visually appealing outcome for my website.

What truly sets Wix.com apart is its interactive nature. The user-friendly interface makes it incredibly easy to customize and personalize every aspect of my website. I had complete control over the layout, color scheme, and font choices, enabling me to create a unique and engaging online presence. The drag-and-drop feature made the process seamless, allowing me to effortlessly arrange and modify elements without any technical difficulties.

One of the highlights of using Wix.com was the seamless integration of an online store. Setting up an e-commerce platform was a breeze, thanks to the intuitive tools provided by Wix.com. I could easily add product listings, manage inventory, and process payments without the need for additional plugins or complicated coding. The seamless integration allowed me to focus on growing my business rather than getting lost in technicalities.

The customer support provided by Wix.com is exceptional. Whenever I encountered a challenge or had a question, their support team was readily available to assist me. Their knowledge and responsiveness helped me overcome any hurdles I faced during the website creation process.

Overall, I highly recommend Wix.com to anyone looking to create their own website without any coding knowledge. The high-definition visuals, interactive interface, seamless integration of an online store, and excellent customer support make it a top-notch platform. Whether you're an entrepreneur, a creative professional, or simply someone who wants to showcase their passions online, Wix.com is the perfect choice to bring your vision to life.

DO NOT USE POS SYSTEM!
February 10, 2022

We are one of their top POS users, according to the Wix rep we spoke with (Amanda T). The sad part is we only use it about half the time they track it. The other half of the time we spend trying to troubleshoot the endless issues it has. Here are some to name a few:

- App continually crashed (will shut off mid-use)
- App will stop working (stays stuck on loading page and you have to reset mid-transaction)
- We constantly have to re-swipe customers' credit cards just to get it to work once (if ever).

This system is too new and still has a lot of kinks to work out. The development team was very defensive on the issues and pressed to continue to troubleshoot. I am not, nor is my business, a guinea pig or beta tester. We need to provide the best service using the proper tools we paid for. The supervisor we spoke with, along with others along the long trail of representatives I spoke with, were adamant they would not refund our money. We had this system for six months, and every single one of those months we had issues.

If your system goes down, there is no one to troubleshoot outside of business hours. So if you need help fixing an issue, you are on your own...

Only one of the two card readers I received (which are micro-USB connections that have much shorter lifespan than regular USB or USB-C) ever worked. The one that did work only worked half the time. No refund for those either. They advertise it as a wireless card reader, but if you don't keep it charged, the transactions fail. The system also comes with a cradle for the card reader. That stopped working on us as well (no refund there either). Luckily, you can directly plug the card reader to the back of the POS system, or tablet. The problem is the development team blundered this one and made it so you won't get enough of a charge to actually keep the card reader charged (A HUGE PART OF ACCEPTING PAYMENTS). You have to find a separate outlet for the card reader. Just a laundry list of issues...

I added some photos of really disgruntled employees/managers trying to use the POS. Also, the directions specifically stated to plug the card reader cradle into the tablet (something they DO NOT want you to do).

All Wix had to do was refund my money for the POS system. I have three other premium businesses accounts on their platform, but that's as of the time I wrote this. Sad, just sad.

Save yourself the $850 dollars and go with someone else. If you are using Wix already, Square and Stripe are compatible.

I am so frustrated!
You cannot get in contact with customer support!
I have even been reading prior tickets online & I see that they're just giving the same scripted bullcrap answers and giving people advice of how to get to the contact page when they've already been there and it went nowhere. Just sends you in circles!
HELLO, they are speaking with you (a representative) now, and they want answers, just help them, call them!, do SOMETHING, ANYTHING!

Okay, now for what I'm experiencing:

I have lost many potential clients
When I view the information sent from the online contact form that the customer fills out. There are important details that are left out of EVERY SINGLE ONE! Such as the customers contact information and how many bedrooms the customer has.
This is imperative info. In order for me to send an accurate estimate I have to have this information and you aren't giving it to me and you're making it a difficult pain in the butt to get in contact with you THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

I even submitted a few Estimate requests myself and it left the same details out, so the issue isn't that the customer is not entering it on the form.

I find out when I go to your site that my domain name is not even accurate
My site has been sent over to my old domain
& all this time potential clients that I have a given my website address to (on business cards, flyers etc.) was the wrong one this whole time
Because of your mess up and I'm the one that gets screwed!

I am leaving Wix today and I suggest that no one do business with this horrible incompetent website. They do not want you to contact them that's why they make it absolutely impossible and even when ever you do submit a ticket they're still giving you information about how to go submit a ticket and get in contact with them what kind of sense does this make!? I'm so mad!
Dear Wix,
You People SUCK!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
October 28, 2020

DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE AT ALL COSTS! Customer service representatives read from a script. You can ask for manager but they're elusive, disrespectful and don't resolve any of your issues. You may want to speak to supervisor in charge of them but they will deny you with fake assurances. It's been a month Since I waited 3-5 days to get verified and I have $3000 on hold that they will not release to me. They say one thing on the phone and then I get an email stating something completely different each telling me to wait longer due to the pandemic. Multiple representatives have said that I should be verified but then once you speak to the supervisor they tell you a different reason why your account is not verified and that you will receive an email to resolve the issue. Once you receive the email from payment department and you reply immediately, they will ignore you for 3-5 days. The payments department DO NOT HAVE A PHONE NUMBER ONLY WIX CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES which I already explained is the deal there. Just please do yourself the favor and don't use this website maker. I have 5 or 6 ticket numbers that I could have chose for this review but this is the most recent invoice #.
" Before wicks respond saying that Im in review because of terms of compliance or restricted items/suspicious activity. They have not provided any further information for over a month, nor have they provided an option to resolve/fix the issue. The most debilitating part of all of this, is that it wasn't until two days ago that the issue actually hit the correct department, after three weeks of giving me the runaround. Very unprofessional.

Wix is not worth it
March 13, 2017

I've been using wix for over 3 years now. I had great customer support and was excited to see more and more features and/or apps throughout the years. I even referred friends to wix.

Starting about a year ago, I could see an increase in glitches and a decline in customer/tech support ---- and recently it's at an all time low. You can't even find where to submit a ticket anymore. I had to go to their facebook page. I was given a link and followed all the instructions to a T, but I'm still having the same issues. One problem I've had for years is that all the elements I place on a box or strip "sticks". If I click on the box only & delete it, everything on top of it deletes even if not clicked on. I've tried two times to get help with this, but wix always states "THEY are not having any problems with it' or I just get a generic cut & paste message that has nothing to do with my issue. Now recently, the mobile editor has become increasingly glitchy. While trying to arrange or line up my elements it freezes after one to two moves and the only way to get it moving again is to switch back to desk top, then back mobile. And, elements will randomly move or bounce from top to bottom on its own. After three hours of working on this issue, I tried to reach out to tech/customer support but I could no longer find to contact section to send a ticket to support, so I went to facebook. I followed the instructions after reaching out on facebook, and waited a week for a response, and to my disappointment, I received another cut & paste message----like instructions on how to clear cache. I had already informed wix that I had already done that, but I guess they don't really read our messages carefully. I replied and explained this, but here I am another week later and still waiting. I tried everything I know to work this out because I had spent so much time on this website and hate to start again, but I have no choice now. I checked my analytics and noted a large number of my visitors come from cell phones, so I can't understand why wix is ignoring me. It appears that wix no longer feels the need to concentrate on quality care or quality control due to last years earnings at around 90 million. But, I'm so glad there are other web hosts I can use.

Have you ever been billed unexpectedly or too much on wix?

We recently had tried out one of their ecommerce premium features as a monthly trial only to find out that they were continually billing the credit card... ILLEGALLY.

After contacting them (poor customer service) we were told they won't issue any refunds for the extra months even though the last month was 3 days after being bill and they are "supposed" to offer a 14 Day Money Back GUARANTEE... also ILLEGALLY not honoring such.

We subsequently contacted an attorney in California as they're also based there. He took a look at the site and the billing layout and the following was determined:

The Automatic Renewal Law of California (ARL) which deals with the Business & Professions Code (Sec *******) states that it is UNLAWFUL to:
1) "Fail to present the automatic-renewal offer terms in a clear and conspicuous manner before the subscription..."
The clear and conspicuous requirement means that the clause must be easily discernible from surrounding text so that the consumer is likely to see it. An example of a clear and conspicuous renewal clause is one where the provision has a descriptive heading or appears in a larger font, capitalized, and/or in bold print.

2) Unlawful to: "Charge the consumer for an automatic renewal or continuous service without first obtaining the consumer's affirmative consent to the agreement containing the automatic-renewal offer terms;"

Both of these WIX is in clear violation of and we were advised to contact first the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and file an official complaint, failing that we have the full right to pursue it legally.

DO NOT ALLOW WIX TO CONTINUE ILLEGALLY BILLING YOUR ACCOUNT!

If you see ANY unauthorized billing activity, IMMEDIATELY make not of it and report it to 1) your bank, 2) file a complaint at the Federal Trade Commission, 3) seek legal representation depending (on the amount)

Wix has illegal business practices to hold its services hostage from you. Wix doesn't honor its own business contract with you. Let me show you how it charges you double for domain by holding your own domain hostage unless you give them more money.
After trying Wix where we build a website, Wix does not inform customers what are the steps to buy and connect your individual domain to the website you spent hours building. It showed me option of buying a domain or buying a premium plan, it also didn't mention connecting each mailbox using wix can cause arm and leg.
Naturally, I chose to buy a domain, for $24 yearly fee where I had to pay $10 per year extra to make it private by Wix where it will not show my name, address and phone number (those were on credit card) to everyone.
But in order to connect this domain to Wix website, I didn't know I had to buy a premium plan from Wix anyway. The premium plan prices shown on Wix are misleading; you have to pay upfront the whole amount for a year because the monthly costs are way higher than advertised.

So, I went ahead and bought a premium business plan for $324 (personal premium plan costs about $250, any lower amount and you wont have anything at all from wix) for a yearly price, that would renew for $324 next year. This expensive contract stated that I had a free Wix voucher for a domain. I asked Wix to refund me the domain amount I paid one day ago and they declined. Wix told me the domain voucher is only for a domain purchased after the premium plan purchase - see here is where they were not clear and honest upfront when you're trying their product.

I went ahead and submitted request for refund of domain which was approved. But Wix still won't let me have it with the domain voucher that came with the business premium plan I purchased! I contacted the customer support and two associates from Wix individually told me that Wix still owns my domain and if I want to have it I would have to pay $24 through some shady wix's paypal account to lift the domain from suspension! Even though I already had created several social media plages and bought one mailbox for $6.50 per month from Wix, I decided to go with another company that had much better pricing plans and ethics of conducting a transparent business.
I chose to get refund for my business plan from Wix during the trial period because Wix showed its true colors within the trial period itself. How this company treats customers early on during trial period shows how badly it will treat them for maintaining years of trust with their businesses.

For reference, my Wix invoice number was #******* and the domain they have held hostage is www.idatatruth.com. Even when I am going to a different company, Wix won't release it, despite having approved my refund for the domain.

The Wix Scam
February 8, 2025

The Wix platform is not easy to use. Despite being priced at 3 to 5 times more than platforms like Shopify, Wix lacks many basic tools that most platforms provide from the start. The support staff at Wix are not well-informed about the available services, marketplace apps, or how to assist with site issues. They often redirect you to someone else who offers similar inadequate help. Additionally, the apps in the Wix marketplace differ significantly from what is shown on their website and do not function as advertised. Wix provides little assistance with third-party apps that seem to take advantage of customers. The overall environment in the app marketplace and on Wix seems to permit these exploitative business practices.
