Stay far away from Wix. They will allow scammers to make purchases and still take their processing fees after the transactions are reversed due to the scammer using a stolen credit card. Wix makes you eat those fees and does nothing to protect their customers on their platform. Complete pile of crap.
I was on hold for 4 hours today only to have the call drop at 3:59 minute mark when I was next in line. Same thing happened earlier this morning; next in line and call dropped. On hold for about 45 mins that time. This is my forth call back I have arranged via their service chat bot, because of course they do not provide a customer service number. Add another 2 hours for the time I spent yesterday trying to resolve this issue. That's about 7 hours of unpaid time wasted.
I have 2 personal websites and 6 client websites all hosted on Wix. I'll will begin migrating all sites away from Wix when the subscriptions expire. Goodbye Wix and hello Shopify!
Wix stock price has increased 232% since the low in March 2020. It would only make sense in that timeframe they'd double down on customer service. Instead they pump more money into advertising. What a joke. Based on the overwhelming negative reviews it's probably a good time to short this stock.
Now you can't get Wix support for free at all, even through chat. I pay hundreds of dollars fo premium plans and now they want $55 for the occasional support I need. I am thoroughly disgusted with their overall business model and I rue the day a "Consultant" convinced me to go with them. Another six months until my plan expires and i am gone. They will however be happy to keep the unused remainder of my other service payments. Don't ever pay for yearly, you can never change to monthly.
I cannot believe that Wix is a company of more than one person. Our company was locked out of our domain without notice and warning for nobody know the reason why, and when all our team members contact Wix, we barely got a helpful response how to retrieve our domain. A week later, they have asked several documents to prove ownership, in which we did provide, they then asked for more additional documents, in which we then again provided. Another week has passed still our company is locked out, Wix customer "support" is still sitting on all the documents we provided. You cannot call nor talk to any live person on the phone in which a simple verification can be done in less than an hour. 3 weeks have passed, still no resolution.
LONG STORY SHORT, run away from this company. Even if they give us free services, I will never ever use this. It is the worse company you will ever dealt with.
This is my first time ever writing a negative review for a company.
I am like others on here and I suggest you go elsewhere when creating a site. I didn't get a fast as 30 days trying to set up. You cannot do anything without upgrading to premium with false hopes of receiving a refund. Paid an entire year, tried setting up less than 30 days and requested a refund which is hard to find on their site and was denied my money back! I'm floored! I didn't even publish my site, was given no explanation and they just refused to give my money back! Will escalate with my card to see if this can be reversed.
I'm not sure where Wix gets the nerve to use the term Customer Support. They have certainly not supported me as a customer, essentially telling me to resolve the issue myself. I've repeatedly asked for a "support" contact number and all my request are ignored. Instead, they refer me to the support page, on which the call center has no number, is permanently closed, and there's no option to request a call back. Then I email support to start the circular process all over again.
Although the site builder tool works reasonably well within limitations, the real tragedy here is that I can't rate Wix any lower than one star.
Without any warning, no communication from WIX Inc or their staff that they chose to hold thousands of dollars in credit card payments from customers. This is after months of receiving payouts without any issue… suddenly on the day the money was to be paid out to the bank, they hold it. I had to make all the communication attempts as it is now over a week since the transaction and still on hold. All the staff say is "they are working quickly to get it resolved." That's not true because it doesn't take long to see I have all my paperwork and we are due the money our clients paid us. Do not use WIX Payments or you are likely to be in a terrible situation when they decide to randomly hold payouts you worked hard to earn.
Can you see this company trying to show that it's part of google and using google's business ad to convince you to trust it? Will don't because it's a company in Israel? You can not contact anyone after they collect your payment. You will realize that there is no traffic showing and, Wix allowed the app owner and called them a third party, and Wix does not stick to the policy of their own.
Pretty much save yourself the trouble don't use Wix or any of third-party app's
Easy to setup, but turning off their auto renew billing is crazy. You have to jump through hoops (wait 14 days, then cancelling the account) to turn off the "feature" and avoid the built-in price hike. I'm leaving after this billing cycle. Would not recommend.
Already it's really hard to make a clean website, it's not useful. I had an issue with my website, some of my pictures are not showing up anymore and this is an issue on their side because everyday it's chang a and it's different pictures! Even one day I went back to work in it and it was saying empty gallery! They asked me to replace my photos, but what is the point if the problem is on their end? I asked them to fix it and I have no more news! So rude! I asked for a refund and they said no! I will ever use their services again! I'm going with square space! The worst is that I've been sending our emails, giving my contact information and I'm looking really unprofessional because of them!
I was accepted on the Enterprise Allowance Scheme run by the Government, which you receive a extra £65 a week to help start a new business. I took out a premium plan at a cost of £138 for advertising on Facebook and Instagram and a further £24 for my website. I'm 4 months into it now, no sales feel let down and that I've wasted the money.
I had started to do my website, mind you this is the first time doing just that. I had signed up for a full 3 days. Had paid the 35 dollars for a domain without me understanding that wix would host this domain. Once paid for I went to continue with building my website only to be notified they wanted over 100 dollars for hosting. I decided I didn't want to continue at this point and requested a refund for the 35 dollars. Got a refusal for refund. I would have understood if this had been a couple of weeks but THREE days? So as far a referring them it will NEVER happen, would definitely recommend staying far away from these thieves!
I signed up for Wix for a small business I've been operating. I thought a website might help to bring in more customers and drive up revenues. I quickly discovered that as a non-techy person their platform is just too difficult to figure out. It would take too much time figuring out how to run their platform to make it worth while for me. I've been trying to cancel but of course there's no such thing as a 'cancel' option anywhere once you're signed up and they ignore messages asking to have your monthly subscription cancelled. The end result so far is they have not delivered a single dollar to my business but they have cost me $200 so far with no luck cancelling. I'm going to have to ask AmEx to block future charges from this company. Very disappointed -- don't recommend Wix at all.
This company charged my credit card and are refusing to issue a refund. I've sent email and tried to schedule calls, but they've missed call appointments and their emails are dodging questions. They say they'll respond in 20 business days, which can be over a month. But they're essentially waiting for enough time to pass so you can't dispute the charge with your bank. It's an incredibly shady business practice.
I've been designing web pages since 1995, from code and with layout applications. Wix is dreadful to work with. You can spend hours, days, weeks, trying to figure out why a photo simply won't appear. There's no rhyme or reason. It is ghastly.
Many don't know that the support team is primarily based in San Francisco. They're very rude as goes with the city dynamics and since they hide behind a computer, they think they can get away with treating customers like $#*!. I threatened to contact the VC backing company if they continued to be nasty to me, so they calmed down a bit. There's some long term support guys who REALLY need to get another job since they're so miserable helping customers. 1 out of 5 technical questions are answered correctly and they blame you for not knowing the answer, but it's the crappy software that's the problem. I refuse to take their abuse anymore and I hop others stand up to them.
Apparently they've abandoned ship as I finished my domain weeks ago, yet I get endless emails about "finalizing" the process with a premium membership that has been paid and done. No actual live chat support to look into this. Just an idiot BOT that goes nowhere. Feel ripped off, and not happy.
Wix is terrible. As bad as Sitebuilder (who we dropped last year). They offer no clear way to contact them in any reasonably timely fashion. Their plans are totally confusing and don't actually give you what you're offered (like free Premium apps). My advice, is stay away. You'll spend a lot of time setting up your websites and then you're stuck, with a crappy service provider that you can't speak to or get any help whatsoever with.
Terrible experience - designer's are promoted by WIX but when they take your money they claim no responsibility. Would never use them again. Beware of paying using PayPal - called "a service" you can not recover. I had to consult an attorney. Takes a long time for the plane to circle but at some point collections will catch up with designer.
Duplicate payments, instead of correcting the issue suspended my subscription it has been eight days and counting and my customers still cannot reach me via website. Received several e-mails requesting another payment or hoop to jump through with no resolution as of today.
Answer: There not bad, but they offer really poor customer Service skills. Doesn't matter how long you do business with them the only thing they care about is your money. So if you dont stay 100% on top of things on your end your screwed.

Answer: No no no
Answer: I've been trying them for days now, with no luck! The recording first said, that "due to call volume, i would have to call back when they next opened on Monday (feb 13th!)" which means that they haven't changed their answering message for days! Then I tried this morning, and there is a new recording that saids that they will next be open on Tuesday feb Feb 21st! So. Fuck. Seriously. We can't afford to rebuild our whole site again with another service! And i've/we've had WIX for over 6yrs now..
Answer: Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We'd like to assist you in resolving this error as soon as possible. Please contact us at support@wix.com for further assistance, or call us at 1-800-6000-949.
Answer: One of the things that really bother me with Wix (besides them being so focused on extracting money from their customers that they tend to forget about everything else) is that they make these changes and do not care one bit to inform their customers that they are going to do this, so all of the sudden one has a site that doesn't function and unless one keeps checking daily whether everything still works as it should, one end up having problems. That's one of the reasons why I'm out and do not plan to use them much longer.
Answer: Please don't. It's just a scam to take your money and give no service.
Wix has a rating of 1.3 stars from 653 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Wix most frequently mention customer service, credit card and premium plan. Wix ranks 149th among Website Builder sites.
