This satellite is trash and very slow you only have good speed for 4 days out of 30 then they send a message about.want more high speed here are your price choices when they already are very expensive. I don't have them anymore and advise you not to get it...oh and once you cancel they keep charging your card!

No tech service
June 20, 2022

Storm knocked out our service. Their rep sold me a tech support plan & told me who to call. Find out they are over 1.5 hours away and have no interest in sending a tech. After hours on the phone a Viasat manager tells me the tech plan is only for "access to support" (ie. A number to call) but doesn't insure support. Over a week with no service for our business and not even scheduled for repair, they're "unsure of any repair date." Do not use them! But the manager did tell me he appreciates our business! Making a change asap.

I've been haggling with Viasat for 3 weeks. I got a new Ipad and part of the set-up asks for the WiFi password. I enter password printed on WiFi and get message "Invalid Password" They sent out a technician who checked WiFi and said everything was working but when I tried, got same "invalid password." I have "reset", unplugged, disconnected the WiFi hundreds of times and problem persists. No help from Viasat. Save yourself a lot of anger, anguish, and rage... don't do business with Viasat.

Viasat is a rip off
October 26, 2022

Their customer service is the worst. My bill was 193$ for 120gb of data and they keep saying I used all my data but all I did was watch a few movies and did wifi call. I don't even have a computer to use any of this data. Then I asked how that was possible and they tell me I had to buy more data. So my bill was almost 300$ then I tell them I want to end my service then they wanted to start cutting deals. Now I have to unhook everything and if one of there technicians have to come out to unhook anything they want to change ME 100$ for them to come get there equipment. Thus is the worst company I've ever dealt with and their ripping people off

My service is out most of the day. I get service maybe 4 hours a day. I called and it's gonna take them until the 17 to get a technician out here to fix it. That's 10 freaking days. No TV, no work. Do anything to avoid having to use their service. It sucks and it's expensive. I pay over 100 a month for 1 TV. 1 laptop a couple phone that I never use on there data anymore. It's BS

Viasat is worthless.
August 20, 2020

We live in a rural area. HughesNet was very slow. We thought Viasat would do better, just because they are so expensive (stupid I know). Viasat is horrible. We get from 3-15mb download, but that is meaningless. The buffering circle appears everytime we want to watch TV, and continues endlessly during programs. It can take you 3 hours to watch a 1/2 hour program! Turns out HughesNet is far better, although it still buffers regularly. Worse, Viasat locks you into 3 months before you can cancel, and then if you want to cancel, they continue to charge you a monthly fee for the rest of your contract period. This is outright criminal! At the very least, you should be able to try Viasat in your area and then cancel if it doesn't work well without any penalty. Someone needs to file a class action suit against them.

Do not fall for their claims of speed, not even on average. Download speeds go to zero during daylight hours and are inconsistent the remainder of the hours after dark and much lower than quoted. Upload speeds never met contractual obligations. Service was requested the first working day after installation and delayed for 1.5 weeks. On line customer service has no knowledge and hangs up after long holds. I have been hung up on 8 times. They did not provide service per contract yet refuse to wave the monthly fee for cancellation. There is no escalation process to anyone capable of making a decision regarding reimbursement of fees for no service.

My wife and I recently had to move. After calling customer service we learned that we would be charged $240 for early cancelation...well ok. But on top of that...we have to climb on top of our roof...get a cable that thr tech put in and send that back as well otherwise it's another $140. We didn't put the cable up there...we are both disabled. We told them that and they said we would have to find someone to get it down and if we didn't and didn't pay...they would send us to collections. We didn't say anything about not paying either. What the hell kind of a company would tell disabled people to climb on their roof or find someone to do it for some "cable" that they put up there? I have heard a lot of things through the years but this is the top of the heap! Wow is all I can say.

Warning! Do not get your WiFi services through Viasat. The service is the worst of the worst. I cannot watch YouTube videos, listen to music, or watch TV in my living room without the services slowing down. So again future customers, if you are thinking about achieving internet WiFi services through Viasat, please please, I beg of you to think again. You will be very unsatisfied. Also you have to worry about paying more for data usages. I cannot wait till the WiFi services at my home address terminates on January 23,2023. That's just next week. I hope to get my old WiFi services back through Mediacom.

Garbage internet
January 4, 2023

For what they expect you to pay a month, this internet is not worth it. Regardless of where in the pay period you are, the internet speeds are too slow to even load videos on Facebook. The data cap is a sham. You can only use the internet for 2 wifi calls a month and they will still say you hit your cap. This is the worst option for internet available.

Lies, rip off and disappointment are their parameters. Slow, unreliable and worthless are their policies. If you rent their equipment and it fails, they charge a hundred bucks to send someone out to fix THEIR JUNK! Their customer service is horrible and unresponsive, and many do not pronounce English well enough for you to understand them. They hold sway out in the boonies since the others don't come out here. It seems like a violation of the anti-trust laws in a way. Most of the time, dial up is barely slower. Anyone who logs on in the area slows EVERYONE ELSE down. If the weather is bad, they don't work at all. If you go with them, then buy Vaseline and practice touching your toes.

This internet is the worst. They have been charging me extra for 6 months on an account that I don't have and they can not locate. Every time I have called they can not find the account or give me corporate billing number. They asked me to communicate with corporate via email and then say they didn't receive the email. I tried to disconnect but want to charge me a disconnection fee when they owe be more the $2000 on an account they can't find.

What a mistake! I work from home and inquired before starting what the service times/costs would be. I was told there were no concerns except electrical outages. However, in their terms, which you do not have the opportunity to read before signing up, it is stated they do not have to let you out of your contract or give you a discount until you have been without internet for 30 days or more. Not a joke.
And even when your service is "working", it is incredibly slow despite the results of the speed tests they run. Do expect to work from home, stream a You Tube video or watch TV in the evening. Its just not going to happen.
And DO not, let me repeat this DO not pay for the Lifetime equipment. It is not what you think or how it is explained to you by their sales department. You are simply paying up front. They will not refund if they are not able to provide service to you.
Truly the worst I have encountered in the industry. Run, don't walk from this company

The worst internet ever.
November 22, 2023

When I spoke to them the first time they told me NO CONTRACT, the internet did not work from day one, I called several times and they did not solve the problem, when I wanted to watch TV it only said "no internet connection" when I canceled the service they told me They was going to charge a extra $343 from my bank account. Because there was a CONTRACT, I do not recommend them at all, terrible signal, horrible prices, and customer service the same, terrible, while I was trying to solve my problem with them on the phone another person could be heard in the background cursing because they ran out of lemonade.
Don't waste your money and time with these thieves.

Viasat
November 13, 2022

I can not wait to get away from this rip off of a company who came out put a foot through my ceiling and they tried to make me pay for it. I'm tired of this company and I should of been able to get out of the contract the moment the went through my beautiful kitchen ceiling. They charge way to much and this is ridiculous. I get anxiety every time I talk to them. I just want to cry. I need a lawyer. It's bad

No internet for over 2 weeks. Appointment for technician to appear never happened. Customer service claimed that technician was delayed but would come later in the day-wrong. During a call to schedule another appointment I was told to call the technician myself to get another appointment. DSL would be better than Viasat because the phone company shows up to restore service

My internet service has been out since September 29th, 2020. Ive had 3 service techs at my house on 3 occasions. Im told I need a new modem. My current modem is obsolete and they tell me I can not upgrade and my type of modem is hard to late. The service tech that was to come today cancelled before he even got in his vehicle to come here. He can't locate a modem either. Ive been a good in standing customer for 10 years and this is how they treat me. Im also very rural and this is the only service provider I can get. I wish I could give them an even more negative rating and their customer service sucks too.

I am on my 4th phone call and still waiting for my refund. I keep getting told it has been escalated and have to wait 3-5 business days to see if the equipment research dept can located equipment.
