“TP-Link Archer C7 V2 AC1750 Wireless Router - Great for Distance ...& Through Walls!”

Randy J.
2/1/17

Before you assume this to be an in-depth review oozing complicated technical specifications, put down your pen and relax. All that is readily available simply by running a web search. Here, after using this router about a month to make sure nothing changes I offer a brief layman's word of encouragement to anyone who might be looking for an excellent router to provide consistent, dependable wireless Wi-Fi to a large home with brick and block walls throughout. My home is a single story structure which was added onto several times over the years. As a result, many of the original brick/concrete block outer walls were allowed to remain. When we got rid of cable TV a couple of years ago we kept the internet and installed a small outdoor antenna. It has served us well. However, when we weren't able to get the college football playoffs last year we went with the twenty-dollar cable alternative... who happened to be offering a free "streaming stick" to get our business. In order to get permanent internet access to our TV I had to find a wireless router capable of reaching more than 100 feet through several brick and concrete walls, and without spending enough to offset my savings from 'cutting the cable'. I spent hours searching through post after post ...but not one of them answered my question directly: What is the best wireless router under $200 for a large home? Hopefully, this will prevent someone else from going through the same exhausting process. I located the TP Link AC 1750 on an auction site for less than $100. The description prompted me to look into it more, and that led me to give it a try. I installed it in the south end of our home near the existing modem. As a test, I downloaded a small, free phone app which displayed a Wi-Fi signal strength meter to use for setting up wireless networks. To my delight, the TP Link AC 1750 provided a strong, steady 70%-80% signal 120 feet south through 3 brick/block interior walls. I continued for another 40 feet where the signal strength meter recorded a 60% signal through 2 more walls ...plus the tiled shower wall of our master bath! Whether it would do this well in a business environment with fluorescent lighting, etc. I don't know. But it has never suffered as much as a hiccup here during the 4 or 5 weeks it has been in service. And it performs just as well regardless of how many Wi-Fi devices are using it... not to mention the impressive 'light show' bonus from the front panel whenever it's on. Bottom line, if you're looking for a reasonably priced wireless router that performs as well or better than a model costing several times its price, and if your goal is reaching 100 feet or more through multiple obstructions you should love the TP Link AC1750.

It dosent work properly.

I recently purchased a brand new TP-Link Archer AX23 Router from Staples for $120. However, after only six months, the router stopped working, and I can no longer receive any Wi-Fi signal from it.

I tried to reach out to TP-Link to rectify the situation, but unfortunately, they refused to help me because I don't have an invoice for the purchase. The issue is that I never received an invoice since I ordered the router from Instacart, and I closed my account with them, as I found them to be a shady company.

I am extremely disappointed with the poor quality of the TP-Link Archer AX23 Router, and the terrible service I received from TP-Link. I strongly advise anyone looking to purchase a router to stay away from TP-Link and buy from a reputable company instead.

It's clear that TP-Link produces junk products, and it's not worth the money. It's frustrating to think that they charge $120 for a router that only lasts six months when it probably only costs them $5-10 to make it.

I $#*!ing hate these people with a burning passion. They purposly make it a pain in the $#*! to make a return. Im not just talking any pain im talking about kidney stone pain. The 2 year warranty for home products is a $#*!ing joke and dont even get me started on the customer support. OOOOOOh its bad. They might as put on a deluxe rubber glove lined with pure gold; only for the most pristine folk and fist you right in $#*!. I was trying to get help from an Indian man named "bryan", sure, and I asked him what he was saying because I couldnt understand he just randomly redirected me to something and Im STILL waiting at the moment writing this and its been 40 minutes and I expect it will take double or triple that judging how long it took me a few weeks ago. Disgusting people dont buy from them they are just abismal.
