Viasat left my business without service between July 4,2024 till July 15,2024, because they had sent an initial technician out which is 3rd party contracted and while the first technician came out and said they fixed everything, in reality though my service was never back up but the technician had already taken off. I was then forced to keep my businesses neglected by Viasat because they mentioned they couldn't expedite or escalate a work service call because their initial 3rd party technician was recently there on July 9,2024, but between July 4,2024 till July 15.2024 I incurred losses in sales exceeding thousands and thousands of dollars in sales, because my sales were being processed through Viasat's internet service and I had no service which I paid for continuously for over the last four and a half years as a customer of Viasat. My business has again incurred losses potentially exceeding thousands and thousands of dollars in lost sales as this business is a multifaceted business. Viasat and their representatives do not care and cannot do anything especially since their central office is in Mexico, but based on the fact that my business follows corporate regulations, I did place an FCC FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSIONER COMPLAINT, based on my incurred losses, continuous outages of service for almost two weeks is unacceptable. Had the location been a residence I would've understood. And on top of all of that Viasat wanted to credit me $50, while continuing to ignore and neglect my business and the continously incurred losses. Today is July 12,2024. I will have lost by Corporate calculations anywhere from $25,500 to $40,000 in internet payment transactions. Commercial customers beware. The losses incurred were calculated by Corporate, and that these losses were absolutely no less than $25,500 and well likely over $40,000 all because Viasat couldn't get me anyone sooner while being a business.
Buyer beware. Find another provider please. This company is a very poorly run company.
Satellite internet service
I would give zero stars for this review, but the system will not take it. Therefore, they automatically get one star. Let me explain how these crooks do business. First, I have been a customer of ViaSat for over 6 years. I have been on auto pay since the beginning, so I've never. D a past due bill. Beware, should you ever need to cancel their service, you must do it prior to your billing date. They will not disconnect your service in the middle of the month unless you are past due. I called to cancel service because I have no use for it anymore now that my employer will no longer let me work from home. I attempted to cancel in the middle of my billing cycle, and they refuse to disconnect and prorate the "pre-paid" month. They said it is in the fine print of the disconnection disclosure. I asked why they did not disclose this when I agreed to my contract and again said, because it is part of the disconnection disclosure. I asked for persons in higher positions that could make that decision and was not able to get above manager level. I find this business practice extremely poor, unclear, and dishonest. I pray this eventually lands in court with a class action law firm. I would love to be part of that. Without hesitation, I would recommend never placing your account on auto pay. The service is ok when comparing satellite internet service. It is slow - like all of them. The only one that is much faster and has no data caps is StarLlink by SpaceX. Oh, and StarLink only charges you for what you order. Disconnect whenever you want. Furthermore. I have been on a ViaSat plan for years now that they no longer offer. It was to be a locked in price. Although they did honor that, my speeds dropped in the last two years. After several calls to ViaSat about the lower speeds, the customer service agent told me that my speeds are being throttled back because they want me to go on a new plan ($80.00 more a month to get the same speed and data I am currently locked in to receive). Again - not very honest. In conclusion, if you cannot get any other internet, I guess this company will do in a pinch - but you better be careful cause this company has very slippery hands and will put it to you the first chance they get. If you are looking for fair internet service with a high price and shady customer service - this company is for you. If you are looking for exceptional satellite speeds at a reasonable price with excellent customer service, you should reach out and check StarLink. Even their RV service is faster and currently available without a wait, not to mention for just $10/month you can take the service with you wherever you go.
Horrible company with poor business practices. Internet service is fair at best - but beware. If and when you cancel service, if you don't do it before your billing date, you must pay for another entire month. This company is a big target for class action lawsuit. Beware of this company's ethics. They have none.
ViaSat Satellite Internet Service
DON'T even think about getting Viasat.
Their satellite is over the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The ping is 650ms so when you start clicking on your open page you will be waiting 0.6 to 1.2 seconds before anything starts to download with each and every click.
Try to watch a movie or any other streamed program and you will be watching the little circle spin as it buffers continuously.
Live gaming. They won't even let you on their gaming sites with that 650 ping.
It slows down everything else on your computer when you are online. Got rid of Viasat and everything works good nowagain.
Their service will drop offline on average at least once per day.
They advertise 30Mb+ download but this only happens during off peak times and when you aren't being throttled or prioritized. I have had downloads as slow as 0.82Mb.
Their upload speed is not advertised anywhere on their web page. It is 1.0Mb PERIOD.
After you are totally disgusted with their pathetic performance they WILL NOT give you satisfaction or your money back'. They will keep $15/mo for the entire 24 month period or for the months you don't stay with them. It cost me $330 to get rid of them but it was worth it to get rid of their agonizing service. Much better and cheaper than paying the $2880 total to stay with them and live in tormented agonizing unbearable horror for the next 24 months.
Wish I'd found these reviews beforehand. I had searched but only found positive magazine reviews. As in places where Viasat / Exede advertises. There should be a class action lawsuit against these frauds to put them out of business.
Don't say you haven't been WARNED!
