Stole money after I took my payment method off.

I got screwed. I took my payment method off in July. Nothing came out in August. And then Sept hit they take 177.00 from me. Without a card on file mind you! The day it happened I called. They told me to email corporate. I do. 5 days they said I'd get a response. 7 days pass. No response. So I call again. 2xs in one day. I've got screen shots proving that there was no card on file on the 13 2 days after they took mymomey. Mind you my cycle begins on the 4th. They said one was put on on the 4th. No it wasn't. I haven't had one on there since July. They didn't care and said I couldn't get my money back even tho I hadn't used my internet because I didn't even know I had it. I called as soon as I knew. So it wasn't like I waited until the end of the cycle to complain. I wanted it immediately stopped and a refund. They told me to call my bank. Ha. Yeah. OK. So I'm guess the bank has to tell them they ain't getting the money I don't know. But I did tell them to block any action from viasat. This is insane. That money was for groceries. Not internet. There was a reason I tool my card off the account!
I wasn't enrolled in automatic pay on the 13 so how was I enrolled 2 days prior? Lord have mercy. I swear. Never use viasat!

I had service with them for 6 years. 200 bucks a month as I work from home. 14,000 USD. I paid this company 14,000 dollars. Then I moved... I called to plan service disconnect as soon as I had a contract on my house. They informed me that I would have to CLIMB A 2 STORY HOUSE to retrieve something on the dish. Yep. I declined and said you can charge me for that part. I have all of the internal equipment boxed up and ready to send to you. Where do I send it? Their response "We will send you a box". No box arrived. I moved. I spoke with them to say "No box - please give me an address to return." Sorry; we can't but give us a new address, we will ship a box. I explain that I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL BOX. Their equipment is safe. No box arrives. I call. They say give it a few days. No box. They charge my credit card (understandably since by now it has been 2 months since I cancelled service). Today - 3.5 months after I disconnected service, I receive another call. Now, they have already charged me for the equipment and they have NEVER sent a box. They want their equipment. I tossed their equipment 2 weeks ago when I was cleaning because seriously? Who keeps old, detached satellite equipment for over 3 months? HORRIBLE cancellation process.

I have been trying to log in to my account since that is my prerogative. Nope! Their website has been having issues since September. What kind of crappy company is this that can't have their customer log in whenever they want. If you want anything from then to have to spend countless times on the phone trying to get information. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! WORST COMPANY EVER. I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY CONTRACT WITH THEM. THEY SUCK.

Horrible Customer Service
November 17, 2022

I have only had Viasat for 9 days. The Modem/Router has stopped working. I have done all the steps to reboot it at least 20 times. It still does not work. I called "Customer service or as I call it customer no service. The soonest they are able to send a technician to my home is 3 days. I live in a rural area so without internet we have nothing. No T.V. No way to use any of our electronics. The only way that I am able to write this review is the mobile data on my phone. I was on the phone for 3 hours trying to speak with a supervisor I was told that Supervisors don't work after 6pm. What a joke. You can call them 24 hours a day but after 6pm your calls are routed to another country. I really don't like giving all my personal information to someone that barely speaks English. I asked one of the reps for their name and ID number and was told that the only thing that they are willing to tell me is their first name. So they have all of my information in front of them and I can only know their first name WTH. So how is a customer able to file a grievance against a particular representative if all they will tell you is their first name? They won't even tell you where they are located but they know where the customer is located. Oh yeah they won't schedule a Technician out unless you have a Credit Card on file.

I had viasat. What an unpleasant experience.
Many things happened, I moved, had the service disconnected. Moved and wanted my service reconnected.
They had to install new components, wanted me to return the old components.
Sent me a box but it didn't have a return shipping label.
I called. It took me 45 minutes to get it across to them where I needed the box shipped to, even though I had already I received one box, just no label.
I don't understand the confusion, it was incompetence.
Before I even received the next box they took $326.00 out of my account.
I decided because of this dysfunction to stop using Viasat.
Requested a box to return the current components. Received the box and returned the components.
Received the shipping label and returned the other components.
Then I get a call from a credit place telling me my account has been put in collections for $302.00
So this is still ongoing for no reason. These idiots owe me a refund and they turn me over to collections.
Expletive, Expletive, Expletive.
Stay away

WORST INTERNET

This company is a JOKE. Over 800ms just to send the request as they use OLDER technology. They are VERY EXPENSIVE and your data amount will drop faster even when we were not using it. Canceled the service after 1 month.

This Company promised me internet in my home and once it was installed I received no reception on their satellite I was charged for 1 months service that I was not able to use and they also Charged me early termination fees for service that did not work in my home avoid this company at all costs they steal your money

VIOLATED

BEWARE... this is the most expensive and worthless internet service I have ever been victimized by! I really do not think they should call themselves an VIASA, they should be called VIACRAP! PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM... go with local fiber-optic service and stay away from this satellite service. We moved to a so-called "RURAL area" right down the road from a casino and went with these guys until a fiber optic service was available. They are way. Way too expensive, system buffers like nothing I have ever used before, and when it rains IT DOESNT WORK... but you still pay. They charge you for so-called "signal increasing" and it does not help and they really don't care. I'm telling you to suffer with what you have or pay more for VIACRAP! Also, they want YOU to ship their VIACRAP back to them or send a tech out for $100.00 to pick it up after the lousy service they provided! VIACRAP has some real BIG COCONUTS!

Scam artists

Do not ever buy internet from viasat. First off, they apparently lock you into a two year contract on the paperwork even though there is no mention of that when you talk to the sales representative. The services they offer are a fraction of what cable provides but they charge you twice as much. Not only that, but the "services" they provide are not actually given. I purchased 25 mbps download speed and 3 mbps upload speed for $99.99 a month and they only give you 60 GB of high speed data. Well their "high speed data" got me 11 mbps at max and the 60 GBs only lasted about 8 days max since I work from home and we have about 10+ total devices that use internet in the house. With the "standard speed" internet, I would get on average about 3 mbps download speed and 0.11 mbps upload speed, all while being grounded in to a WiFi booster on top of that. The rest of the house would average about 760 kbps download speed. The sad part is I've purchased cable internet that only provides 10 mbps download speed and the internet runs fine in the house. The reason I call them scam artists is because they charge you to cancel the contract early. Now I have to pay $311 to cancel this 2 year contract (again, not mentioned by the sales rep). So clearly, the cancellations fees are what the company banks on to make their money because they know no one is going to want to keep their service. Also, if you get one cloud in the sky you can kiss your internet connection bye-bye, which is really sad because it's been 20 years since I've had satellite and it doesn't appear the technology has improved one bit.

Avoid ViaSat

We had limited choices for internet provider until Starlink came along. ViaSat "sold" us 50-150 mbps for a premium price of $300 per month. Since our contract started 3 months ago we've had 20mbps at best with uploads of 1-2mbps. We've had 4 service calls which were very difficult to setup, and it wasn't till our last service call that they realized our equipment was faulty. Broken equipment- it happens.
We requested a refund for the 2 months ($600) for the time that we were not able to use the service, and we were denied. Instead they offered 1month, citing that there is "no proof" that we had service interruptions (despite 3 other service calls for no service and the realization that the original equipment was faulty). So it was a no brainer to discontinue service with them immediately. But just so they were certain the door hit us from behind on our exit, they denied the 1 month refund and reminded us they we signed a contract and would need to pay them an additional $350 as a penalty. Thankfully, there is nothing in the contract protecting them against the sale of a faulty product and will have an opportunity to dispute this legally.
This company makes their money selling a contract that offers an unrealistic product and then penalizes you when their scheme is revealed and you cancel the contract.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this headache, especially as there is now other companies with faster service, cheaper rates and good customer service

This has to be one of the worse internet providers available in my area. I told this company when I placed my order that streaming was necessary. This was stressed multiple times during the call. The person that set this up said that this wouldn't be an issue since I had the best plan they offered; only that gaming would be an issue. We had no problem with that since we don't do gaming. I was told by their installer that it would take a few days for the speed to be reached & this NEVER happened. We gave this company a little more than 2 weeks to do so. To top it off, I am being forced to pay for an additional month after only having this "service" for 2 weeks; they have already billed me for the first "month" of service AND I'm being charged an early termination fee for a service that was never provided! So sick to my stomach over this since they did NOT provide the service they said they were going to and I had "The Best" plan they offered. The supervisor was just as dismissive and essentially said sorry, but too bad. A business that lies to get your business is one that will lie to keep it and this company is very punitive to you. Valuable lesson: don't use a satellite internet provider or a company that you don't know.

Problems with installation started when the company sent a newbie who - as we learned later from another installer - "did not know what he was doing." Indeed he struggled to find a good reliable location in the back as we originally wanted, proposed to put the dish 140 ft away from the house which - as we also learned later - was too far for a good signal. We agreed to put it in front of the house and barn in the end where there was a good clearance but he could not finish that day as he had another appointment. A week later on the day of the rescheduled service, another guy "Chris" called and expressed his criticism of the first installer and general pessimism about the project, sight unseen, but finally when we assured him that there was plenty of open space (over 20 acres as a matter of fact) of completely open land in front, he agreed to come "in an hour." And then nothing - no answer to repeated phone calls and messages we left on his cell phone. After two and a half hours of waiting for him, and a couple of phone calls to customer service finally some supervisor looked into it and discovered that the guy Chris simply put a note that the service order is closed due to lack of clearance! He did not even come and look at the site! Was he rushing to lunch and couldn't be bothered? Do they not give a damn about customers? And that was it, no "we are sorry", just this, "case is closed, nothing else can be done, goodbye." The disrespect for customers and their time, the arrogance! Stay away from this awful racket!

We had Hughes for years without issues. After switching services to Viasat we had endless issues with poor service even after upgrading. Not only was the service slow, but we lost countless billable hours with home office being unavailable by internet. When we called to cancel the service with a clearly stated reason that we could not run our home office with such poor delivery of internet the service representative bullied us with hostility. We asked for expedited cancellation and were told they would charge us to return their equipment if we did not comply, but in no way did they do anything to expedite the return making it impossible to not get charged for the delayed return of their equipment. To say we were irritated, frustrated and unsatisfied is an understatement. We've never been treated so poorly in customer service problems from no internet, canceling service and returns. Under "NO" Circumstances would we ever recommend this company and certainly would find alternatives in the market. Their model is awful and they are not doing anything to satisfy customers who are leaving where better alternatives are certainly available.

Would never recommended to use this internet provider.

I paid for one of their highest plans for 100 mbps download speeds. I know that they cannot ensure you receive the highest downloads consistently, as it can vary by use and time of use. However, we never received adequate download speeds. Even after speaking with their IT team (who were very nice), our maximum download speed was less than 30 mbps, and often, much less than 20 mbps. At about 6 PM, no matter how much or little we used the internet, our download speeds were nill. I couldn't even use a web browser without absurdly long wait times. When I decided to end my service, I knew there would be a termination fee. I spoke with a representative who told me that based on the months left of my contract, I would pay $165 for my early termination fee. I wrote down his name, date of call, and my case file number. Later, within the same month, I called and spoke with another representative. She said my termination fee was $210. I told her that the prior representative (stating his name and information pertaining to the call), provided me a different fee. Nothing was done to rectify the situation with the cost discrepancy. I would never go back to this business as I felt they didn't deliver good customer service and adequate internet services with a hefty cost for poor internet.

Unprofessional

My mom lives in a rural area where the internet choices are scarce. She went with HughesNet and they overcharge and under provide on their services. I started looking for other possibilities and ViaSat does a lot of advertising. I called but their prices are steep, so I wanted to call around a bit more before settling with them, even though she claimed that HughesNet and their company ViaSat were the only internet providers in town and they were the best... they offered to do a call back for the next day at 2pm. By then, I found another affordable provider and awaited their call to tell them she went with someone else. The customer service rep asked if it was a good time to talk, I said yes, and then told them we had went with someone else and he hung up ending the call which is highly unprofessional. My husband called back to see if the phone was disconnected somehow but we reached another rep who couldn't give the information of the previous caller. Don't go with this company, they are high priced, rude, unprofessional liars. Choose Vexus... affordable friendly and underrated.
