Like so many others, I have had a terrible experience with Viagogo and would recommend anyone reading this review to avoid them at all costs. I was persuaded to use the company by the promise of a bargain ticket for the Download Festival, which I paid for just over 3 weeks before the event. Everything seemed fine at first... the transaction went through without a problem and I received a confirmation email advising me that my ticket would be available for download no later than 3 days before the event, but this turned out not to be true. 2 days before the event I still hadn't heard anything and decided to contact them to to find out what was going on. Unfortunately, this turned out to be easier said than done, as there are no contact details given on their website whatsoever (try and find them if you don't believe me).

In the end I gave up on the idea, hoping that I would hear from them the following day, which indeed, I did in the form of a second purchase confirmation identical to the first one, but with a new order number., No explanation was given, but I deduced that something had gone wrong with the original order, so they had sourced a replacement ticket. The ticket itself failed to materialize, however, and as the festival was less than 24 hours away, I realised I was going to have to speak to them no matter what. After wading through various forums on the internet and trying a number of different contact numbers, I managed to find one that worked. I was then subjected to about 25 minutes of grating hold music, before finally managing to speak to someone. To my relief, the ticket was then made available to me.

Except that when I arrived at the festival, I was told by the staff on the gate it was void because the original purchaser had obtained a refund. Cue another phone call to Viagogo and more of the terrible music. Then the real farce began... someone in the event box office kindly agreed to speak to Viagogo on my behalf and was given numbers for at least 5 other tickets, all of which were just as useless as the first one. I then demanded a refund and purchased a ticket at the box office, but it didn't end there.

The email I received confirming my money would be refunded stated that this could take up to 10 days. In the circumstances I felt this was completely unacceptable and phoned them up to have a little discussion about it (as well as to query why I had received another email on the final day of the festival advising me my tickets were ready for download). Their answer was that 10 days is how long a money transfer takes, which is strange, as the transfers I have made usually clear the same day. There are plenty more criticisms I can level at this pathetic excuse for a company, but it's late and I'm tired, so they can wait for another day. In the meantime, let me just reiterate that you use them at your peril.

If you bought tickets on Viagogo before reading the reviews and are now having an anxiety attack reading through the 1-star reviews, I just wanted to let you know that it's not all bad. I know how you feel because that was me just about a week ago. I used Viagogo to buy tickets to BTS' Love Yourself World Tour at Citi Field. I had gone on the official site too late and the tickets were all sold out. My mom quickly found an alternative site, Viagogo. "It was the first one that popped up," she said, "so it must be legit." Well, no, they probably just paid for their site to be advertised on Google. That is, however, not the point. On Viagogo, I soon found two tickets for relatively good seats in Citi Field. Of course they were overpriced. A lot of 1-star reviews are people complaining about the high prices. What do you expect on a resale site? Anyway I wanted to see BTS so bad I was willing to pay pretty much anything so price was not the issue. The issue came after we made the purchase and I began to read the reviews for Viagogo, as you are probably doing right now. I read reviews from an overwhelming amount of unhappy customers with fake tickets and the panic set in. I spent the two months leading up to the concert anxious that my tickets would not work or that they would be sent too late (with the 3 day before the concert guarantee). I realized that I could not do anything about it so I just waited impatiently for the concert day to come. Two weeks before the concert, my tickets arrived! That was definitely a good sign that things were looking up. They looked legit (if you're worried about your tickets having someone else's name on them, don't worry they will still work). When finally the concert day came, we walked up to the guy checking tickets and my heart was pounding. I was so ready to write Viagogo a very angry 1-star review. As the man scanned my ticket, I heard the satisfying ding. It worked! I was so so happy. My doubts quickly faded away and I had honestly the best night of my life. In conclusion, Viagogo is not all bad. Since it is a resale site, it all depends on the person you buy from. I want to tell you to have hope and believe in the validity of your tickets. Since mine worked, I have hope for yours too. I'd like to think that the majority of people selling on Viagogo are nice people just trying to make a little bit of a profit and not selling fake tickets/scamming people. I am extremely grateful that the person I bought from was one of these nice people. I overall had a good experience using Viagogo. I however will never be using this site again because of all of the anxiety that it caused me.

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, DECEITFUL PRACTICES, DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
After a change of circumstances I had to sell some tickets (with 3 weeks left till event).
I listed the tickets on the website and received an email saying that I needed to upload proof (which is fair enough). I uploaded a photo of the tickets the next day, their promise is to review within 72 hours, but a week later my listing still hadn't been reviewed and wasn't active.
I looked for a customer service number but there isn't one. The only way to contact them is via twitter, and they just direct you to the help section on the website, where the only information is that you should give it 72 hours.
I had been checking the listing every day to check if it had gone live and it had said "your listing is under review". It was only after I had threated them with legal action that I finally got a response, they said that I needed to upload proof which seemed strange.
And the next time I logged on there was a different message to upload proof, and the photo that I had uploaded a week and a half earlier had been deleted.
At that point I just removed the listing and sent a tweet, managed to sell them within a couple of days.
I have now deleted my account, and have vowed to never buy or sell from them again.

I am utterly disappointed. I bought 3 tickets to see the Stone Roses for my mum and her friends. After countless weeks of me reassuring my mum that these were from a legit website I had to wait until the day before to relieve my e-tickets which were promised no later than 3 days before the event.

I phoned the number on Google which is listed as a Swiss hq. Turns out it's actually a London number.

The woman I spoke to was very helpful in telling me that my seller couldn't upload the tickets on time so they were searching for some replacements. This was my first time hearing this news, 24 hours before the event, and considering I received my new replacements (which were in the exact location of the oldies) shortly after, it's just seemed like an excuse.

The email stated that I now had to pick my tickets up from the venue with no information about how to go about this exactly. So I wrote back with some questions which NEVER GOT A RESPONSE and printed off my email with my listing I'd and order number and gave it to my mum to pick up her tickets. In doing this my mum was informed that the tickets were INVALID and they COULD NOT ACCEPT THEM.

Again I phoned customer service to a very helpful woman who informed me that there is a different order number with the replacement tickets and that's why they were invalid. However there was absolutly no evidence of a new order number on any of my email receipts. They woman was incredibly apologetic about the fact that no one answered my email which would have resolved the issue before it had become and even offered to look for some last minute replacements so my mum could still enjoy her present. Her attitude and service was absolutely great regardless of my disappointing experience.

Wicked People stay Away!
January 15, 2018

Dreadful experience Bought two tickets October 2017 for two David Bowie tickets 12th January. The best seats at Manchester Opera House for my Grandson's 21st present. I was pressured into buying the best seats over the phone as I was told that only the expensive seats were left. They cost me 167.34 pounds and I was told that the tickets would arrive a week before the event was due to take place. At the time I felt some measure of concern as Viagogo didn't send me a confirmation of the purchase I had made. However on the 7th January the tickets arrived. Face value was 60 pound for two tickets (They cost me 167.34) Unfortunately the tickets were for the 13th Jan at the O2 Ritz instead of the 12th January at Manchester Opera House. The OI2 Ritz is a young trendies stand up event and I am a Grandmother with bad knees. I would never have booked such a place as there is no way that I could stand up all night. Added to that my Grandson had book booked a coach trip away for the day on the 13th. The tickets were useless. I tried to contact Viagogo through the help line but the only way to contact was to allow them access to my face book account and by this time I realised that they were a rogue company and didn't want to do that. So I tried ringing them to be told that I could only speak to them 72 hours before the event. When I eventually got through they accepted that they had changed the date but would not accept that they had changed the venue. They would not give me my money back. I spoke with my bank and they could not help me as I had no proof that I had ever purchased Manchester Opera House. Viagogo had not sent me any confirmation. They have all angles covered and are very clever. Why is this company allowed to continue. The Government knows about it! If stole a 20 pence apple I would be up in court. Who is soooo powerful they can give the thumbs up to Government and steal thousands and thousands of our money? They are Wicked!

I personally have been more than happy with the Service as a Seller. I've not been well and therefore unable to attend some venues and have been able to Utilise the Services of Viagago to move on my tickets which i am unable to use. I have read many reviews criticizing hidden charges but have proceeded to checkout the purchase as if i was going to buy tickets to see how you are advised on costs. It is very clear throughout the checkout process what charges are going to be applied at final payment. People are slating Viagago including the Government and MPs, why is the same level of criticism not being applied to GETMEIN part of Ticketmaster Companies which operate very much in the same way which have also used also? Ticketmaster Group are no better than any reselling companies as they Sell face value tickets but then happy to promote GETMEIN on their Ticketmaster Website when Venue Tickets have sold out as a Second Lifesaving option... The bottom line is that people buy from Ticket Reselling sites as they have not been to get tickets for various reasons at the initial point of Sale including not realising tickets were on Sale by their favourite Artists and upon realising want a Second chance of being able to buy often 6 - 12 Months later after the initial tickets are offered on Sale but now sold out. Two Words - Buyers Remorse, we've all experienced it I'm sure, we've bought something in life but then had second thoughts about our purchase. Like anything in life whether it's a new car, House Purchase, your favourite chocolate, but like all products and Services, the true cost and Value of them is only decided by the Purchaser themselves on how they value what they're spending their money on. Therefore if you don't think some tickets are of true value to you it's simple... Don't buy them as buyers remorse is likely to creep in real quick,,,,, there will be someone else just around the corner that believes they are of personal value to them. Viagago offer the same services as GETMEIN and other similar Companies, we all have the option to say yes or no, so make your choices and stop whinging!

Please please please do not buy tickets using this website. In my opinion as seems to be the opinion of every person on these review sites this company cannot be trusted, There customer service is appalling. Whenever you ask the call centre a question they don't want to answer they just go silent for long periods of time. When I received a call from someone called Alan, who claimed to be from a call centre in Switzerland, with the number showing up on my phone as being from London, yes its as dodgy as the accent which definitely wasn't Swiz sounding, as was the previous person I spoke to called Daniel. They refuse to answer any questions, Alan just kept silent for very long periods of time I'm guessing in the hope I would put the phone down, then after very long periods all he kept repeating was that they were a legitimate company, and there policy was they would not do any refunds. This was the only answer I could get despite me asking a completely different question. Martin Lewis who we recognise as a sound financial advisor states on his website not to buy tickets from these people. I was trying to buy Lewis Capaldi tickets after ticket master sold out in about 2 minutes, I looked online and found tickets that were advertised at £115 each (3 x times the original price I found out later) when I went through to the payment I was charged £286 for two tickets. Its only after buying them that I realised I was buying from a 3rd party. I am sure that some people, maybe me will end up receiving their tickets but from my experience of speaking to the call centre and from the horror stories that are on all of the review sites you may as well take your money to the casino and put it all on green on a roulette table. Whenever you ask for your money back all they ever say is that you can re-sell the tickets on there website, which would mean to get my money back I would have to overcharge the next poor person as this legitimate company has already added a large fee when I bought the ticket. DO NOT BUY from this LEGITIMATE COMPANY!
