I had a very bad experience with ordering tickets from Viagogo and would recommend avoiding this company when purchasing tickets to events. Not only were the tickets overpriced, but Viagogo made promises that werent kept.

I was in Buenos Aires for a week and purchased tickets to a fútbol event during that time. Unfortunately the weather was so bad the game was postponed. I was not able to make it to the rescheduled event because I was gone before that day. I contacted viagogo to help me with a refund or information on how to solve the issue, and over the phone I was told I would be able to get a refund if I kept the tickets safe and could send them in the mail to an address they would provide. I was quite happy with this response to find out later it was not true. When the new date was announced I asked how to go about the refund I was promised and Viagogos representatives completely dismissed it saying they do not provide refunds to postponed events. I understand the policy, but to tell me over the phone I would be reimbursed for very expensive tickets and not grant it is extremely unprofessional.

I had also met a local in Buenos Aires and told her about the game, the tickets, and everything that was going on. She informed me that the tickets I had purchased from Viagogo were ridiculously over priced. I paid $150 American for two tickets to the Racing Club vs Arsenal fútbol event in a cheap seating area, when in reality the most anyone should pay for the same seats is about $40 American.

I want to share this experience with you and warn people about purchasing tickets through this website and company. They arent professional and you can definitely go about getting event tickets in other ways.

Viagogo robbed again
December 12, 2022

DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY - MAY AS WELL BURN YOUR MONEY

Brought tickets to see Love Actually in Edinburgh and we live in Reading. This was for my wedding anniversary. Tickets originally brought were in decent seats. Booked hotel and flights, baby sitter and dog sitter. Got to Edinburgh and the dreaded email came through saying the seller had no access to the tickets we purchased. Then we called and was told the seller had sold them to someone else, My question was why did they sell tickets they did not have. Told they would work on replacements. Got offered other tickets which was not in better seats but okish so said ok take them, dreaded call came through saying they could not get them as well. So they would work on getting more. This was 2 hours before the show.
3rd time lucky and they offered us tickets in row K still not better than we originally purchased but ok we thought we take them as we had paid out so much to go. Tickets came over and to our surprise when we got to the venue we had the back row - nowhere near the standard of the originally tickets. We were displeased and thought how much were these back row tickets, found out they were £30 per ticket and we paid £174 for 2x tickets nowhere near the original standard of our seats we brought. Watched the performance and thought to speak to customer service, they are still investigating and I have chased with calls and emails, they have responded but as you can guess frustration is setting in. After explaining the situation over and over again I had one of their customer services representatives laugh at my expense and then send I am sorry. Real professional... I will be taking this legal as they have broken trading standards selling tickets they have not got. They also supplied tickets of less value than we paid.
Looks like purchase tickets for as cheap as they can, false advertise them for half decent tickets then say the seller can't supply so hear have these which are the worst tickets. You only realise when you turn up to the event.
They said better tickets and only issued the tickets once we were there so to late to do anything.
Company = joke
Customer services = Joke

Hope this helps others not to get stung...

Scammers, Avoid Them
February 20, 2019

Hello,

Avoid these scammers ViaGogo. On 14th of December, one week after the original sale dates for the UFC Fight Night in Prague (Chezch Republic) on 23rd February 2019 I was looking for the tickets. When you type on google the event name the first site to appear is viagogo mainly due to their google adwords.

While browsing their page more than 2 month before the event the scheme of the tickets and the different areas was fully blocked and only a few options were available.

I started going and browsing and as soon as I choose the seats I started typing my card detals etc. I did not click proceed but immediately took my money.

The worst thing was the hidden taxes. It did not gave you a full breakdown of how much additional taxes such as vat, customers taxes, etc would be, so I ended up paying instead of 220 Euros per ticket 330 Euros. For both tickets I was charged 660 Euros or 1350 local currency which is quite a lot. This is average salary in my country and mostly in the capital.

I have already been to 2 ufc events first in 2016 in Zagreb (Croatia) and a month later in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). In Holland I was sitting in the same area and I paid there 150 euros for the ticket. I have to say that the prices were more expensive than the UFC event in Zagreb, however the overall standard of living in Prague (Czech Republic) is lower than in the Netherldands and I ended up paying 2 times more per ticket.

I immediately wrote to the so called "customer support"and the only message I received is that I can list the tickets for sale on their website. However after new year all of a sudden more than 600 tickets were released and guess what nobody was interested in my tickets although I put a price around 65 % lower of what I have paid for.

Now the person who had to come with me will not be able to come so most likely I will end up losing like 3300 Euros.

Аnd on top the are registered in Geneva (Switzerland) where there is no applications of the European Union laws with all the options for refund within 14 days etc.

Avoid them, scammers, I hope when I go tomorrow at lest to watch the event.

I recently purchased tickets to see Paul McCartney in Sydney after we were unsuccessful in securing then for the NZ concert. Whilst I expected there to be a difference in pricing given location and late purchase I was very disappointed when receiving my emailed tickets that our total purchase price for two of A$1,201.68 represented ticket costs of A$172.15 each. I queried this on three occasions but was informed that:
QUOTE
As we're a ticket marketplace for people to buy and sell tickets, the person selling the tickets sets the price when they list them. The price they set may be over or under the face value which is what the event organisers print on the ticket you receive.

The name on the tickets will also be that of the seller as obviously they are the ones who originally purchased the ticket and that's the name the event organizer has printed on them. Although your own name may not be on the tickets, they are perfectly fine and valid to use.

To help buyers know what the face value is and so they can decide if they want to pay what the seller is asking for, it is a requirement that all sellers input the face value before they can list. This allows us to provide the range of face values for that particular event so you can decide if you're happy to pay the prices asked by the sellers. This information is visible on the event page directly under the listings. Mobile devices and certain browsers display an 'Information' symbol (a blue 'i') next to the event name where this info is viewable. The information provided shows the face value and also any other important info relating to that particular event such as age restrictions etc. The face value info appears something like this:
Prices are set by sellers and may be lower or higher than face value. Prices exclude booking and delivery fees (applicable by transaction). Original face value price per ticket (excluding fees) is shown here. The full breakdown of the charges are also displayed on the 'Review Purchase' page just before you click on 'Buy Tickets' but if you need to see this information you can see it by going to your Purchases, and clicking on 'View Details' under the total price paid.

Needless to say that we feel ripped off and have duly advised Viagogo that we will not be using them ever again

The company is a joke
October 30, 2013

The company is a joke. I tried to purchase tickets 6 times. After it had said the transaction had gone through, I would get a message 30 minutes later saying the transaction was cancelled. This was both through the website, and their phone centre after waiting for ages to speak to anyone, and trying a range of different cards (to try and work around them saying it was a problem with my bank).
I tried one more time and the transaction went through. Finally!
Then I got another message about 4 hours later saying a transaction they had previously told me had failed had now gone through. So I had bought the same tickets twice.
I rang up to see what could be done. I was told they could cancel the 2nd transaction. I was told that I could also resell the tickets.
I was put through to another call centre, after another delay, and then told that someone would call me back. They didnt. I rung up again and after another delay I was told I needed to be put through to a special line. I waited on hold for 36 minutes. I hang up and tried again. This time I was told that the tickets could not be cancelled - even though the seller had not confirmed the tickets. I was also now told that I could not resell the tickets - because they could not guarantee the new buyer would receive them EVEN THOUGH THEY CANT EVEN GUARANTEE THAT I WILL RECEIVE THEM.
So I dont know if I have the tickets, and wont know until just before the event starts. And even if I did know, I couldnt sell them. The worst part is that the place I am supposed to get the tickets from is the exact same place any buyer who I would sell them to would get them from - the venue. So they say their system wont allow sales within 2 days before the event, even though I bought them in that time, and even through the seller would get them the same place I am supposed to get the tickets - viagogo's desk at the venue.
So they have charged me twice, and two hefty commissions, but they dont have to provide you with any customer service because "they just provide a market between buyer and seller."
If you want to roll the dice and waste your money, (via) go for it

I was pushed into buying the tickets like most customers I was charged £230 for 2 tickets to see Depeche mode when it was offering at £68 per ticket so fee and costs £100 more than stated of course I new nothing of any fees till after when I was pushed into buying them I rang the bank and they couldn't stop the payment>

Later on I listed my tickets for re sale I was under the impression id be refunded asap so I listed them and some one brought the tickets the next day I thought ok ive lost the fees but at least I will get ticket prices refunded but I later found out id not get my money back until weeks after the actual concert ( again viagogo didn't state this at the time)
So I re directed the tickets straight to the buyer rather than ship them >
I got a email to say the tickets had been delivered to the buyer.
And id get my money 2 weeks after the concert.
I now have had an email off viagogo to say my tickts are canceled and ignore any of viagogos emails.
Basically ive been ripped off no tickets to see Depeche mode and no refund
Ive lost £230 im furious
Please don't use them I wish id of read this reviews more closely >
Im not gonna bother trying to email them by looks of it everyones been ripped off

I bought two tickets and selected god seats and paid £277.64, which included £76.54 booking fee, handling fee and vat. The cost of the tickets were £200.00. They confirmed that the tickets will be uploaded a week before the event. However, they were uploaded on 21st February and the concert is on 3rd March.
On printing the tickets, I was shocked to see that the cost of each ticket was just £35 each. I immediately contacted their customer services and was told that this would be dealt within 24 hours. I failed to receive any call or email from them.
I then contacted the Company who they bought the tickets from and they advised me to go back to Viagogo as these were the tickets requested by them.

As Viagogo is a secondary Company, they charge you any amount. I have seats right at the back in a corner and paid for the good seats. They are saying that it confirms in their terms and conditions that the face value of the tickets could be lower then what they have charged.
I would warn people NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE SHADY, ROB PEOPLE AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRADE. EVEN MARTIN LEWIS HAS WARNED PEOPLE NOT TO USE THEM. TRADING STANDARDS HAVE WARNED THEN LAST OCTOBER. UNFORTUNATELY, I DID NOT CHECK THIS INFORMATION PRIOR TO BUYIING TGE TICKETS.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

I am honestly surprised!
October 23, 2020

Here a lot of random places and dates, but the tl; dr is that they have been somewhat efficient and very committed to getting me my money back.

I live in Hong Kong, and I -VERY RELUCTANTLY- bought tickets in July 2019 for a concert that was going to be in Japan in March 2020 (Note: I bought them from the page, not from a random user). Because of COVID, it got cancelled. Knowing that they were second-hand tickets I had little to no faith in getting the money back. However, they sent me an email immediately asking for the tickets back and saying they'd send me the money. They gave me an address in Taiwan, but because of COVID and bureaucracy, I needed the name and ID number of the person who was gonna receive them. I didn't have it and it was the last day of their deadline to return them, so I gave up again (in my head, it was money spent almost a year ago and it was gone forever).
A week later they called me and told me they were curious about what had happened. I explained the situation and actually thought the tickets were lost. They told me to look for them and gave me a new address to send them to, now in Japan.
I was finally able to do it and they offered me either credit or the money back in my account. I couldn't believe they were gonna refund the whole thing, no service or transaction charge whatsoever.

Admittedly, I did have to navigate through a somewhat confusing webpage at times, but I am happy to inform you that 13 months after getting the tickets I got all my money back!

I honestly rarely write reviews, but they made such a good job, and they actually made the effort to pay me back and called me, so I thought I would return the favour. Also, every person that contacted me either through the phone or email was super kind and nice!
