Viagogo has no scruples selling tickets for a show several hundred percent above the true ticket price. To add insult to injury they then rip you off further by charging an enormous "booking fee" and "delivery charge" (without forewarning you about these charges!), for the privilege of emailing the hugely overpriced "tickets". The ticket arrived by email without my name on it and that's when I smelt a rat and went online to see how ripped off I was from reading other reviews! An utter disgrace that people can operate a "business" like this!
As everyone else has said - RIP OFF. HUGE hidden charges, not upfront at time or agreeing to buy tickets also not sure tickets exist.
Has anyone managed to get their money back... I am trying! Any consumer companies can help? Money via bank account so can't go through credit card. #angry
Bought two tickets for Adele £208.99 each which I thought was a lot but really wanted to do it. Didn't give total at checkout as I'd used site before and it had my card details. Costs added were £59.72 EACH ticket booking fee and £10.64 EACH ticket postage, plus VAT. The total came to £582.57 - I feel completely ripped off and has spoilt the fact that I got tickets. Then to make it worse £602.99 has gone out of my account. Nearly £100 extra per ticket on tickets which were £208 already. I just feel sick now from this experience! I have tried to contact them and can't. I'll never use this site again- should be illegal to rip people off like this.
Bought 3 tickets for afl game. Was send concession tickets but paid full price. Tickets where scanned already. I was ripped off and will file a complaint with the police of theft. Cancelled my credit card as well and advise everybody who used these conman services to do the same
This company, apparently located in Europe, is terrible and a rip off. Do not use them! I bought 2 tickets in advance (6 months) and only 24 hours before the show did I find out I had actual seats. The seat location was terrible. I paid 4 times more than what they are selling for now. It took 10 phone calls, tons of email, to get any assistance. The people you deal with are no doubt in Europe. They are trained to not give you a straight answer and will put you off saying wait another day. I have learned my lesson never never to use this lousy ticket service again.
Simple, I purchased tickets for Top Ranked boxing at Madison Square Garden and they sent me a fake ticket. This is a fake company period. If you use you will lose your money. Read the other reviews. You've been warned.
Tickets already double price then they whack a £30 per ticket charge on (which isn't declared until right at the end of booking), plus booking fee = £243 for 2 tickets which should have cost £90! This needs to stop!
Massive scam! Undisclosed fees turned out to be over 70 pounds for a festival ticket. You are only told AFTER you put all your card details in and all the time are rushed by notifications saying only two tickets left etc. Will never use again.
Paid £250 over the face value of tickets for ATP finals. Tickets allocated no where near those requested and paid for at booking. Viagogo offered no help either sorting out fair ticket allocation or a refund.
Don't touch this company. Should not still be operating.
Once you pay for your tickets you cannot download them. You will receive an email that the purchase is confirmed and that the tickets are available 3 days before the event. On top of the ticket price they charge taxes and in my case a Euro 300.- service fee which was not indicated during the purchase.
Don't use the viagogo platform. Buy your tickets from your local ticket provider! They make the website look real but it is a scam! BE CAREFUL. You cannot resell your tickets because you cannot download them in the first place.
I am so pissed off that my reduced tickets (£74 down to £60) have actually cost me £173.79. Booking fee £20.90 x2. I booked these in 1 transaction so why x2. Secure postage £4.95 x2 I am sure they will come in the same envelope not 2 separate ones. None of these extra costs are mentioned at all until it is too late to cancel or turn back. I am fuming. Never again will u book through this disgusting company.
We bought 2 tickets for Adele. The price quoted did not include tax and then an additional booking charge was added. So what appeared to be a $500 purchase ended up being $800 - no honesty here!
To make matters worse I entered the wrong e mail address and now I cannot get hold of anyone to sort out and to see where and if my tickets will arrive.
The most frustrating experience all round. I would not use this company again.
Next step contact credit card company - but now we will miss out on Adele!
My own fault for not looking at reviews. But hopefully someone else will avoid making the same mistake.
The tickets I was sold are invalid. The stadium confirmed these will not work, so had to then go directly to the official vendor (which is what I should've done in the first place).
To top that off, the initial charge to my credit card went up by 1.5 times the next morning, had to quickly cancel the credit card (which cost me yet again).
Overall, I'm surprised this site can still legally operate, I hope it gets shut down and the owners are dealt with as appropriate.
This is NOT a trusted site. Look at all of the reviews! There's even a petition on Facebook which is being sent to the Swiss Embassy for Victims of Viagogo.
Please buy your tickets straight from the venue or the ticket outlets the venue accepts. This is one of the worst, badly run business's I have ever come across. They must spend more money paying to be on the top links on Google than they make in sales. Disgusting way to run a business. What they fail to realise is that they're playing with peoples dreams. People who save to see their idol. Mums and dads making their child's dream come true and so on.
If they were in the UK they'd be shut down immediately, having as many bad reviews as they have
After fighting with them for two and half years to get refund of £176 and being ignored we are now bluntly told we can't get money back even though the show was cancelled. Every other review says the same thing. Someone is a millionaire by stealing money from so many people.
Wish I had seen reviews before using viagogo. Sounded ok so purchased 2 tickets. Paid £156 and when they arrived they were £63 for inferior seats. No explanation. For charges When I complained by email because hopeless trying to speak with anyone was told no refunds but. They would resell tickets -and charge me a large fee no doubt. Think their service is appalling - how in the world do they stay in business with such bad reviews. Sally
Bought 2 tickets for Porto vs Sporting Lisbon for 4th March. The date changed so not possible to attend (so tickets no longer as advertised). All customer service can say is 'no refund' and when you have a legal case and quote their own T&Cs they disappear.
Rip off merchants - do not use
Bought tickets for State of Origin Game One. Site all seemed very legit. Travelled to Aussie and was refused entry to the game. Tickets had been sold three times! Tried contacting Viagogo... no luck... an absolute scam! Beware!
Bought two tickets to the French Open in Paris, at a very marked up price, two months ago from Viagogo. Received an email inviting me to download my tickets. Noticed they had someone else's names on them. Contacted Viagogo and was told they "would take care of it". Sent me another invitation to download tickets. Same misinformation on tickets. Went to Viagogo website to find out why, and read that incorrect names wouldn't matter at venue. Not true! My son and I were refused entrance and I am out $750! Roland Garros told us they would be initiating a class action lawsuit so this doesn't happen again. Too late for us, unfortunately.
So what is to be done about this web site I have bought tickets and wanted a refund within ten minutes of booking but they drag the e mails out and even credit card company won't step in so how do you get money back when the tickets for the concert are not even on sale yet. So no money has been outplayed on their part. Even Martin Lewis has no info either text me on *******8661 with solutions this cannot be left to keep happening
Answer: My tickets were real but I was scared the person whose name was on the ticket would turn up with id. A R600 ticket the price on the ticket which we were not told ended up being twice that. Would I use them again? NO
Answer: So frustrated surely there must be something we can do, surely this is not legal?
Answer: For is it was a total con. They showed prices in HK dollars and then charged in US dollars. We paid $4000 US dollars for two Madonna tickets. There's literally no phone number on their site and it's impossible to get in touch with customer service. Don't buy tickets here. You'll be sorry. They even charged us $500 for a service fee. Really insane!
Answer: Hi Bryan! Viagogo is a ticket marketplace that allows individuals to buy and sell tickets for live events. Once you purchase with viagogo you are covered by our guarantee: http://www.viagogo.co.uk/landingpage/1044610 Kind regards, Ana
Answer: No they don't. I will never ever make any purchase frm viagogo and I will warn you not to. They deducted my money from my back without my acknowledgement in Dec and guess what, I received the same email frm them that they will be deducting the amount from my bank again due to me not able to produce the ticket. My reason is that event organiser close down my seating section. Ended up have to go thru my bank to get the money back from them. They are the worst.
Answer: If in doubt, always try and pay by credit card so have a certain amount of protection/insurance. There's a lot of fraudulent ticket sales going on all over at the moment, so do your homework, read reviews and always use a secure method of payment if you decide to proceed.
