Scammed & overcharged by US Vital Records Org for a free or low cost service provided by State Approved or Affiliated Agencies.Do your research with due diligence. Out $99.99 plus $12.00 for "rush" & never received requested original birth certificate until I contacted Department of Vital Records & Statistics for Pennsylvania. Copy was free for Military Service and only charged $10 fee and $18 UPS Overnight Signature Delivery. Never received certificate requested through US VITAL RECORDS ORG. They never answer phones at all(24 hours a day due to high call volume) & never RSVP to emails. You are on your own without advertised customer support!

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID.
I requested a birth certificate for my son through this company thinking they would offer faster processing and delivery time compared to VitalChek, the official states avenue for these requests.
What USVitalRecords does is simply take the data that you provide them and enter it into VitalChek for you for an absurd fee (two copies of the certificates $282!) Nothing more. You could do this by yourself for under $50.
I usually check the legitimacy of the websites I put my info into, but this time it was an urgent request due to the urgent need for travel internationally in this time of pandemic, and I didn't even have time to think about it.
Total scam, they shouldn't be allowed to operate. Hopefully karma will take care of them.

Hello Angelo,
We are sorry to hear you feel this way. Our company takes several measures to ensure the public is aware that we are a private company which assists in the application process of acquiring vital records. We let the public know that vital certificates and forms may be ordered from the relevant government agency for free or a lesser cost. We place this in the Disclaimer on every page of our website prior to reaching the ordering screen, so the public can review this information and make an informed decision.

You may recall when the client applies with our company, they must complete the Verify Order section. Within this section, the client must agree to all the provisions we have outlined and type their name in agreement that they have read and agree to the terms. Step 1 of the Verify Order section states:

1. I understand US Vital Records (USVR) offers professional advice and provides support to help eliminate errors when applying for vital certificates. USVR assists in verifying that applications are accurate to avoid delays in processing. USVR is not operated, licensed, or affiliated with any government agency.

We provide all of this information prior to client requesting their vital record so the client may review and make an informed decision when choosing our company.

Get birth certificate.
February 29, 2016

As most of you, I am trying to get a certified copy of my birth certificate. I emailed US Vital Records and received a phone number for California Dept. of Public Health *******684. It turns out that the US Vital Records is a third party and it sounds like I can go directly through (my birth state Dept of Public Health. The lady told me where to go on the website https://www.cdph.ca.gov/certlic/birthdeathmar/Pages/default.aspx. Keep in mind I was born in California. You need to find the site for your state. Submit the application, $25 payment and a self addressed stamped envelope. And gave me the address for the California office. I hope this was helpful. I'm hoping this company doesn't charge me because I did not move on to the next set of directions, mainly because I havn't received the next email. Ah it get confusing

THE WORSE
March 29, 2019

I needed to renew my driver license. DMV recommended them.
They charged $60 to transpose the info I gave them onto a form for ME to send so
I could get a document I needed to renew.
On top of that charged an international fee.

I ORDERED 2 Birth Certificates/ They kept erasing my middle name in ordering so, I hit submit more than once. At the end I realized the amount charged was about $500. I called and all of it was canceled except $119. Then I was told, more documentation needed to complete order with 2 days. I was on vacation and couldn't provide those papers. So, I canceled the order and was told, I'd be charged nothing. Well, now I was told- that was a 2nd company (was another $100.) and USVital wouldn't return any of my money. IT would of been $219. For 2 birth certificates! Beyond ridiculous! My bank tried to call, and no answer. They called me back, and said, they did their job and refused refund. They said, state canceled. Nothing was said about a 2nd company nor another fee! Especially another $100. I'm showing this to my bank for refund. Tell your banks, tell customers NOT TO USE THIS SITE!

I paid 59.87 just for them to transfer my info to another company, who then charges me $27 for certificate. I could have completely bypassed them and saved $60! Total scam. Beware of this company.

On our website we state that we are a private company that assists in the application process of acquiring vital records. We also inform clients that we not affiliated with any federal, state, county or city government and that certificates may be ordered for a lesser cost through the appropriate government agency several times prior to the page where an order is placed.

In addition, we have the Online Service Information appear in a large red box on every single page of our website reiterating that we are a private company and they may order directly with the government for free or at a lesser cost. We indicate that the online processing fee is for the cost of providing a secure online ordering service, expert assistance and thorough review of all pertinent information to ensure compliance with government rules and regulations. All this information is made available to our clients prior to reaching the ordering screen so that clients can have the opportunity to read it before placing an order.

These guys are not needed. They charge extra money for basically nothing. You could go to https://www.vitalchek.com/ and get this same service for less than half the cost. They charged my $59.87 to basically take my information and move it over to vitalcheck, who would have charged me what they charge either way, which was less that $50. So I paid over $100 to get something that should have cost $45-50. They did get my stuff forwarded quickly though, so good job there I guess.

So in response to your response usvitalrecords, I could buy into possibly being more secure than a government website, but I don't buy into you saying that you do this because "Our agents will contact the client in the event that the order is not compliant with government rules and regulations in order to prevent additional delays." I was contacted several times, but not by you, it was by vitalchek.com, who told me that the option I chose was going to get me a regular copy which I could basically do nothing with, which you guys didn't even bother to warn me about. You also sent my name forward with a wrong middle name, which I caught and had to amend. To be fair, the middle name error was a auto-correct on my end, but I'd expect that to be a red flag. Maybe Vitalcheck is more difficult to start through, but I really doubt it, their website is straightforward and easy to understand.

The SMALL print said I have read and agree to terms of service, but I did not know I was not the proper person to order a death certificate so I was charged, then they told me I was not eligible as I was not a close enough relative. The local state office helped us and I should have known NOT to use this web site, I think it is a SCAM.

Hello Bonnie,

On our website the client has to choose the eligible relationship from a drop down menu. This includes only the relationships available to request the certificate from that particular state when ordering online. We do have to follow certain guidlines and parameters which are set out by each state. When a client fills out the application, they must complete the Verify Request portion of the order form. This is set out in a numbered format and the font and size remains the same as the order form. We do not minimize the list. As you pointed out, we do state that the client has to agree to step 3. And on our application form, the Terms of Service is highlighted in blue and is linked directly to the Terms of Service webpage so the client can also review. Once again this is in the same font size and lettering as the rest of the order form.

Right after Step 3 is the paragraph that states:
Enter your full name in the box below. Entering your name constitutes a signature and an agreement that you have read and agree to all of the provisions contained below. It additionally affirms that all information provided on this order form is complete and accurate and that you are a person authorized to obtain a Vital Certificate as indicated by your answer to Relationship to Subject.

Type full name to represent your signature. *

This is another feature with which we inform clients that the information and relationship chosen must comply with the standards and parimeters set forth from the government for the application to be valid. We invite you to visit our website at your convenience to review the information above.

I cannot believe a site like this can advertise on the webpage of a state agency. I tried to get a death certificate and got lead to this SCAM website. Ended up paying $70 more than what it costs to go thru the state for their "expedited" services. After the purchase, i felt something wrong so I ordered the next needed death certificate through the proper state website. I received the 1 from the state a couple weeks later. IM STILL WAITING ON THE 1 FROM THIS SCAM WEBSITE 10 DAYS AFTER receiving the 1 from the state and wonder if I will EVER receive it. No way to call them. UNBELIEVABLE. Someone needs to put a STOP to This BS!

Hello Danya,
As I mentioned to Gena below, we thoroughly review applications to ensure they are compliant to what the State's Issuing Agency requires. Thus minimizing the chance of rejection or no records found.

I ordered my marriage certificate from USVitalrecords.org on November 8th, 2018. In the confirmation email they stated that it would be 2-3 weeks, not including shipping time before I received my order. After 6 weeks I sent a message asking about my order and was told that the state of Tennessee received my order on November 25th and it would take 2-4 weeks, not including shipping time, to receive my order. Another 6 after the order was received by the state of Tennessee I inquired again on the status of my order. Four days later they respond that it is under investigation. That has been 11 days ago and I have heard nothing since. However, THEY WASTED NO TIME CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD $85! It has now been nearly 12 weeks since I placed my order. I could have driven to Tennessee and back for less and saved myself a lot of trouble.

Numerous emails and phone calls haven't helped. Many go unanswered. The company requested documents they didn't need as they "didn't realize how old the record" I requested was (despite the fact that the order clearly stated the year of the records), and then claimed the records were sent. This turned out to be untrue. The excuse I got for this untruth was that their computer Q-drive wasn't working. Then they requested records for the wrong address. Their latest excuse is that it's the state records departments' fault. Since the company didn't even place the orders for the bulk of the time I've been waiting, that excuse is clearly another lie.

There are five complaints similar to mine filed with the Better Business Bureau of Denver, Colorado. This suggests my negative experience with this company is not unique. This company also uses multiple names in different places: BackgroundsUSA, USAVital, AuthoriCheck, etc. Pretty sketchy.

I'm not sure how many phone calls I've made, but I sent eleven emails between 10/21/2019 and 1/23/2020 that were completely ignored.

One hundred sixty-nine days later, I am giving up on trying to get the records I requested and paid for. I'm demanding a full refund.

This is a terrible, unprofessional, and unethical business. You'll get excuses and lies rather than the information you paid for. Deal with state departments of Vital Statistics instead. You can do just about any records request you need by U.S. mail. Even with the slow rate of mail, you'll likely get what you need in less than one hundred sixty-nine days.
