The worst customer service! I've been overcharged, lied to by managers, put on hold for hours, disconnected multiple times, given numerous bogus phone numbers by managers, and still no resolution to my problem after weeks of trying to get help.
The overcharged me $1800 on a trip, said they would give me a credit and would not let me use it. Do not trust these people. Do your business elsewhere. I will NEVER use Travelocity.
Your travel protection package is by far the worst one I've seen since I started traveling multiple states per year. This would be my first and last time ever using your thievery company and I would go out of my way to have any other military people I've known boycott your products. You lost one good valuable costumer today.
My original multi destinations was purchased in July $2,027.34 plus insurance $130.00. I've received several flight reassignments for my original destination Oaxaca Mexico from New York upcoming Nov 17th. When I was revising it notice a huge mistake having me arriving to Oakland instead of Oaxaca and then returning from Oaxaca on Nov 21st. Travelocity could not resolve my problem after expending more than 5 hours leaving me no other option but to cancel the whole trip including a connecting flight to Santiago DR on the 21st and a returning flight to New York on Dec 5th.
One agent promised a full refund including the $130 but another one retracted that offer saying only the flights will be refunded. I had to buy new flights costing me $600 more than original price paid in July. Needless to say I'm disappointed that I'm loosing my $130.00 plus an additional $600 because someone's negligence. Thank God I've notice the problem and didn't end in Oakland missing my event.
I like to purchase from Travelocity but sometimes their system runs so poorly that I can't get an order placed for an hour. Very bad systems management - their customer service call in number is staffed with poorly trained staff.
So today I was supposed to be on my flight on my way to Orlando Florida for my 27 birthday tomorrow. I go to airport and get ready to check in on flight and as I approach the airlines they tell me that my flight wasn't there. So I call Travelocity and they say oh were sorry mam your flight was canceled! Total complete BS! You would think they would have refunded my money to my account right away and no they did not. I have to wait 5 days for my money to be refunded. Talk about complete headache. My whole trip has been ruined and I will never ever go through Travelocity again! They are quick to take your money and $#*! you over!
Great vacation! Travel went smooth, hotel was exactly as described, quick car rental and return, WELL DONE!
I had the same experience and found travelocity not only to be inept and dealing with making a change which took over an hour because there was a trainee dealing with me, but i paid for travel insurance and then they deducted 135.00 dollars from my airline credit. BIG Scam travelocity! Shame on you.
You pay $100. The air ticket is not covered. (Jet Blue itself gives credit for a cancelled flight). The hotel is not covered ( they told me to call the hotel myself and see what i could work out). The change fee is only covered if the flight is rebooked at the same time that it is cancelled. This is just a profit grab from travelocity.
Apparently they only have one computer that can make flight changes. I have been on hold over 20 minutes now since the supervisor's computer is the one that can make those changes. Booking directly through airlines next time. I am growing old here. Lesson learned.
My husband and I booked a trip with car rental through Travelocity, and their program booked the reservation incorrectly. Once we arrived in Michigan, we realized they over booked us, thus overcharging us by $247.19. We contacted customer service, spent several hours on the phone, were promised emails and call-backs that never came, and after a few months of back-and-forth just took the hit and decided to put the word out to others. It's not worth our time but it is worth others to know the way it was handled was absolutely horrific. Each customer service agent passed us off, not sending information on and ultimately not following through with whatever was promised by the one before. It is sad that a company exists that does this to good people.
Please take your business to another site. FYI Expedia owns this site so steer clear of them... they operate the same.
Time was, when buying airline tickets online SAVED you money! Those days are past. Jut about all sites are showing the same high prices these days.
I've had two bad experiences with Travelocity:
I used Travelocity to buy transatlantic airfare, the was a problem with ticketing which I thought was resolved well before the day of travel, but re-emerged 24 hours before my flight- I was up at 3am with customer service getting it straightened out- which I was told it was... until I was in Germany waiting for my connecting flight and WHAT DO YOU KNOW... IT WASN'T FIXED AT ALL!
The second problem again happened when I was in Europe. They emailed me to let me know my return flight was canceled, but didn't take into account the 5 hour time difference! I ended up going all the way to the airport only to find out I wasn't going to be leaving that day!
The travelocity website made it easy for me to book and save money. Everyone liked the trip and we had no complaints about the website.
I called twice in less than 30 minutes to find out about KIDS STAY FREE. It is very misleading they don't specify the age limit on this. The first time I called the agent wanted me to book the package but I told her I couldn't because I needed to transfer funds to put it on my credit card. The call was immediately disconnected. I called again wanting answers from the original question that was not answered after the agent informed me that the there is an age limit. He wanted me to book the reservation and again I said that I needed to transfer funds to my credit card, low an behold the call was disconnected again. These agents will not give you the opportunity to inform them you will call back they just disconnect you! Poor customer service and disrespect.
I saw tickets for $156.30 for a flight I want to take. Travelocity said it was round-trip including taxes and fees but not baggage fees. I picked the leaving out time and then picked the return time that added $0.00. When I got to the trip review it upped the ticket price to $246 something then also charged me a $24 booking fee. That is very deceptive. You can't tell me a price per tickets including taxes and fees and then charge me almost $100 per ticket, then add a booking fee on top of that. Not happy. I will never use travelocity again.
This site is untrustworthy not a good company avoid
Booked a hotel for a week in MX, when I got to the hotel it was a health hazard (everything in room wet and smelled of mold). I had to book into another hotel and Travelocity would not give me a refund from the first hotel. Will never do business with Teavelocity or Expedia ( this is one company) again.
Booked a 3 star hotel using their secret hotels option and was instead given a 2 star motel called to get it fixed and was told that it was what it was and I had to pay them even if I didnt use the hotel. Told me they could give me any hotel from 1 star to 3 stars they wanted to.
I booked a 3-night stay at Super8 Decatur Georgia through Travelocity. It was the sixth stay in 12 months at that hotel. I chose the online payment directly to Travelocity and put it on my American Express card. I also selected the more expensive option, versus the no-cancellation option, thinking it would be extra insurance if I needed to cancel or change. NOT! I was taken by ambulance to an Atlanta area hospital with an emergency brain problem, and stayed six days. My cousin who stayed in the room with me the first night, cleared out the room, notified the hotel that I would not be staying the second and third nights, and I called from the hospital as soon as I could as well. I asked only that the THIRD NIGHT be refunded or credited back to my AmExp card, but Travelocity emailed me that hotel would decide. When I contacted the hotel, they said Travelocity would have to decide. When I disputed with AmExp, Traveloisty refused, saying that their policy states that refund can't be made, once I check-in. That Super8 is SuperBUSY, PACKED PARKING LOT EVERY NIGHT, IT IS BASIC, BUT GOOD VALUE, and I have stayed there numerous times. I am convinced they were able to prepare my room and rent it out for that third night, since I cancelled on the afternoon of the second day. AmExp says they have added the $93 charge back to my bill, and my dispute is not favorable to me. My hospital bill is almost $40,000, so this just adds insult to incredulity! Do not book through Travelocity. It is safer to book through Super8; I believe they would have helped me on the charge.
I booked a trip through travelocity a few times. Never had any real trouble, but this last time the price that was on the site and what I was charged was about a $300 difference! I had already paid and couldn't get a refund. When I complained to travelocity, they apologized and offered "coupons" to use, not a refund. Ok fine. I figured I would get a $300 credit. Nope... they issued a $200 coupon, and a few $50 coupons. I had a year to use them. Well, I just booked a trip early this summer and wanted to use the coupons. I found out they couldn't be combined, and there was a laundry list of don't associated with them! WTH? So I booked a hotel for one night that was only $149. I HAD to use the $200 coupon, but didn't get the difference back! I couldn't use more than one coupon, so forget the $50 ones. Then on top of that, I had to PAY for the taxes! So I used the free "coupon" lost $50, and then paid $35 in taxes to the hotel! What a freaking rip off. Will NEVER use this site again. Coupons are totally useless, I had to finally call to figure out how to use them and find them in my account! They had to do it manually, they couldn't talk me through it on the computer and I doubt you could even use it on the computer. My only saving grace was that I wrote the coupon amounts and dates down in a book, so when I called I had info. This is a scam. Rather use Orbitz or another site...
Answer: They tell you that you can use the credit within 12 months. When you try to book the flight, there is no way to apply the credit yourself, so you have to speak with a rep to do it. They place you on hold for hours! When you finally do speak with someone who can help you, you are told there is a re-booking fee added to be able to use the credit, making it cost more than if you just purchase a new ticket without adding the "credit"! Bottom line is that they say there is no penalty and that you get the credit, but you do not. They are liars and unethical, at best.
Answer: Bridgett, It is simply because this company has terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE customer service! It seems like the people who gave positive reviews have not had to make any changes in their arrangements--if they needed to change something, I believe their experience would have been negative. Who wants to do business with a company that is only a fair weather friend? Not me! This was by far the WORST experience I have had in dealing with a company. I will never use them again and I tell everyone I can to avoid them.
Answer: I don't know that. All I know is that I will not use them ever. They basically let me go after I had payed for the tickets. They are not an honest company. Good luck I hope you find your answers.
Answer: I totally disagree, you will never understand if you don't like to understand. If you try tonipen your ears and listen carefully without so much objections in mind, i bet you will understand. If you are a frequent flyer, you will know that these travel agencies has no control of the policies of the tickets, as they are implemented by airlines. And when you book a trip online, either from travel agencies or airlines websites, you will be informed of the policies. I bet you know how to read and understands simple english word, like non refundable right?
