Travelocity Reviews Summary

Travelocity's reputation is predominantly marred by negative customer experiences, particularly concerning their customer service and refund policies. Many customers express frustration over poor communication, lack of support, and difficulties in obtaining refunds for canceled bookings. Complaints often highlight unexpected fees, miscommunication regarding rental agreements, and unfulfilled service promises. While a few reviews mention competitive pricing, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that the potential savings are overshadowed by the company's perceived dishonesty and inadequate service. Overall, customers advise caution when considering Travelocity for travel arrangements, emphasizing a lack of trust in the company's practices.

Travelocity does not honour their guarantee, they use slimey little loopholes to get out of their price match guarantee like:

You did not include the full price including tax for that hotel, the room class does not have the exact same words in the description.

Not Impressed

Rip off
August 17, 2017

I recently made a reservation thru Travelocity and accidently did not choose a smoke free room which I need due to health reasons. Within an hour when I called Travelocity back to request another room they said it could not be done without a cancelation and the room fee was not refundable, unless I paid 20 dollars when I showed up at the hotel and one was available.

I used travelocity when I traveled solo to London/Paris. I needed to extend my stay at a hotel. I wasn't happy that I was charged by the hotel to do this after I was assured by Travelocity there was no change fee. I made a few calls before and after my trip. Everytime I called, customer service was always polite. The last rep I spoke to told me my fee would be refunded as promised and I would receive a $100 coupon toward my next booking. I didn't check for the coupon until almost 1 year later when I was booking a hotel. Sure enough, when I clicked on coupons, there it was! No matter where you call these days you are going to have unskilled workers. But it's worst when you're treated rudely and not helped... ever! That wasn't my experience with Travelocity. So, I will use Travelocity everytime I book, reminding them so they will live up to my high opinion of them. Thanks Travelocity.

After 4 hrs!
August 7, 2017

After 4 hrs of being on hold I FINALLY got my flight CORRECTED. So I'll be taking a trip down to Cancun on August the 13th & keep in mind I booked this trip back in Feb 2017 the 1st time they made changes to my flight W/OUT notice was May 5,2017 I called the Customer service rep he fixed my flight to my original flight. So now that I'm getting ready to print out my boarding pass cause I leave August 13th from DFW I see that they cancelled my flight for the 2nd time & this time they notified me BUT here is the catch my mom is traveling w/ me & NO flight changes were made to hers sounds a little iffy huh? I have been on the phone since 11:15 am it is now 3:54pm in Dallas after 2 reps & 2 sups I FINALLY get my flight booked CORRECTLY! After me just being feed up & notifying them that I wanted to canceled both flights the pushed the issue to not charging me since they had already done it back in May, I booked a flight last year to Cancun as well it went great but this year is a little challenging for some reason. I'm not rating it a bad one but there customer service WAIT TIME HAS TO IMPROVE!

Their prices seemed fair. But their customer service people are very, very bad at their jobs. After the airlines canceled our flight (after four hours, they couldn't clear our departure to fly, for which I'm grateful out of safety's sake!), we drove all night to another airport to make a meeting the following morning. Unfortunately, the airlines attendant at the gate cancellation airport did NOT switch the return leg of our roundtrip flight. After four calls to Travelocity--1 1/2 hours over four reps plus Facebook inquiries!-- I FINALLY got them to connect me to the airline. Problem solved in 5 minutes. Then, later, Travelocity responds to the online inquiry with instructions to go to the airlines desk at the airport I left nearly 24 hours prior... Absurdly incompetent!

Hotel Disaster
May 30, 2017

I cannot believe the run around I have gotten with Travelocity. I booked a hotel with them. It was the filthiest, bug infested place there could be. I tried to get them to relocate me and refund my money. Called Travelocity Customer Service. Wait time for hold stated as 1 hour 16 minutes to 1 hour 53 minutes (luckily only had to wait 10 minutes). Relocation was nixed by them because there was "NO AREA INFESTATION in the immediate surroundings." Having a bug filled room does not count. Spend 2 hours on the phone that night to find out this info. Told by hotel attendant (no manager on site) that refund has to come thru Travelocity since paid thru them. So slept in car since was already 1am. After holiday trip, spent another 90 minutes on the phone to be told refund has to come from hotel. Also, they cannot find any record of my two hour conversation with them on THE night. How convenient! Still trying to resolve the matter.
I can't ever imagine using Travelocity again.

Travelocity car rental ripped me off $300 on a $100 rental. First, Enterprise refused the insurance I had bought thr Travelocity, then they brought me a dirty car to "inspect" and then charged me for damages on a scuffmark found under the mud. Criminals. Won't deal with either any more for cars.

Never again!
May 10, 2017

Travelocity did not notify us of a flight change so we missed our flight and are now our $2,544 to purchase an additional flight home.
We purchased flights from Miami to Peru and back in August for our November trip. When we arrived at the airport to come back to the US we were notified that our flight had been changed from 9am to 7am and therefore we had missed it. We were never notified of this change and became stranded in another country. Upon calling Travelocity we received terrible customer service that was unwilling to help us resolve this mess.We were finally able to secure a flight back home but the cost was $2,544 and we had to wait 15 hours in the airport in a foreign country. Travelocity informed us on one of the many calls that we would be able to purchase and receive our money back later once we explained the situation. This has now been identified as a lie/scam for us. They are now claiming that they sent an email in August notifying us of the flight change. However, we know this to be incorrect because 1. We have searched the entire email account, including spam, trash, etc. and we have all of the emails except for this one (weird?) 2. When we logged into the travelocity account at the airport it still had the original flight information of 9am on the itinerary 3. When calling a different customer service rep they told us they didn't actually have our email in the system to send the emails 4. Upon another customer service call we were told that travelocity doesn't send these emails that it would come from American Airlines
I can see via other complaints that travelocity clearly has a record of doing very similar shady practices as this one.
It is very safe to say that we will never be using travelocity again and have no problem being vocal of their poor business practices. All we are asking for is that they clean up their mistake by giving us our money back. Besides the fact that they have ruined a once in a lifetime vacation for all of us and wasted a huge portion of our time- the one thing they can repair is the money lost and they don't seem to be willing to do that.
Had we not been lied to and told different stories by each representative that we spoke to we might be in a very different situation...

Beware of Travelocity
April 10, 2017

Beware! I booked a Budget car rental which stated that there was free pickup within 5 miles. They didn't state that the exception was airports. I don't trust these websites and therefore called Budget ahead of time to make sure. Needless to say, they do not not. Check every detail so you are not side-blinded. Their customer service tried to tell me that a manager located in Mexico was taking care of it. That wasn't true either.

Cheating consumers
April 4, 2017

I did the reservation ************** today for 2 nights hotel in Miami. Offer price was US$83/night. Then when I received the confirmation I realized it was charging more US$81/night as cleaning taxes. So doubled the price from the room. Travelocity just answered saying that the the reserve is not refundable, so agree with this cheat!

Have used Travelocity for probably 10 years but NEVER again after today! Flight was booked for wrong day and staff and supervisor said that has NEVER happened, come on NEVER? I never received confirmation email, looked in spam and in trash but agent said it was opened, not by me! Company did absolutely nothing to try and resolve the situation saying it was all my fault and they are NEVER wrong. I will do my best to tell everyone I know not to use this site!

I stayed at the Super 8 in Fremont, Ne first time traveling using Travelocity everything worked without a hitch, walked in to check in staff was very friendly and made me feel very welcome, it's nice that see people enjoy there job like that. They had my room ready to go showed me where the continental breakfast would be in the morning and they had my favorite biscuits and gravy. Room was right temperature setting very clean it didn't look so much like place to sleep it felt more like a home away from home all definitely be using them in future.

You can find really cheap tickets on Travelocity.com, but their site does not tell you on whether you need a visa or not to enter a country. I was traveling from the USA to United Kingdom, but I had to stop in Canada to change plane. I was surprised by the time I got to the airport the air flight air booth attendant did not let me board the plane telling me that I need a visa to Canada even though I would be staying there for only 1 hour to change plane. I would never think that someone would need a visa for simply changing the plane from one to another in an airport. Travelocity.com were not able to help me so I had to purchase another ticket

I have used travelocity a lot for work. It's been a great way to get a good price at the last minute. I've never had a problem with the reservation, so definitely happy with the service.

Will never use again
March 23, 2017

We had purchased our flight ticket and had our confirmation #. When we arrived at the airline, Travelocity had cancelled our ticket with no notice. After the ticket agent helped us to get a supervisor on the phone they stated the price had gone up since we paid and therefore were not going to honor our ticket. They did issue a refund while we were on the phone with airline agent at airport. Luckily the airline we were flying with honored our price and we were still able to fly. We will never use Travelocity again.

Need to change flight due to sick child at home and weather. Jet Blue would have changed our flight in only 20 minutes on the phone but Travelocity wouldnt let them. Had to wait on hold for FIVE hours for travelocity to change the flight. Customer service agent even lied three hours into hold that she changed flight to one that was requested then an hour and a half later said that "No that flight wasnt available". Didnt appreciate being lied to along with wasting 5 hours of my 48 hour vacation on the phone. I agree that hold times are normal and it takes a little while to reschedule a flight but not 5 HOURS and customers should not be lied to - would never use this company again.

Terrible service.

Travelocity recommends selling you flight insurance through Alliance. I tried to cancel my flight and get a refund for a flight that is in 2 months and all they offered was to refund the cost of the insurance policy. How useless is that.

We always had used Travelocity, for our trips. Have an acct with them. But this last time, when my husband, had to reschedule a flight, they charged us a astronimical fee, and pricing, it was horrible. He had also purchased insurance like always, but they wouldn't work with him at all. No more.

Your computer can become a cookie factory because after you use this site it will be full of them. It cost me a subscription to SpyHunter and it still didn't fix my computer. I have since bought a Mac!
