A well run site fair to sellers and buyers. There is no comparison or legit competing site-competitors buy low from you and sell high to you. If you must have the absolute latest iphone/etc just in stores then be my guest-my Apple stock depends on you, thank you.
But if you want/need anything that is not the absolute latest and greatest but close, this is the place. I have purchased and sold and recommend Swappa to all. Well moderated. Read the reviews.
My kids both wanted I phones for Christmas. There's simply no way I'm paying retail for a phone for a kid that is probably going to get dropped and broken. A mint phone here with insurance is a great alternative and keeps me from having to lock into more years of cellphone contracts. An unlocked used phone and no contract like tmobile is the way to go!
Swappa provides detailed information about all the phones sold, and ensures that the sellers provide pictures that show exactly what is being received. They support and promote being candid about products They make the process easy by sending emails when the sale page is updated. I have used Swappa for two purchases thus far, and plan to use it in the future and recommend it to others.
Every time I need to buy a phone, I go to Swappa. The transactions are quick, fair and easy, everything a consumer wants. They even check the IMEI on the posting, to give the buyer piece of mind. Swappa also steps in to help ensure the transaction goes with out a hitch. I recommend this site to anyone looking to get great digital devices at great prices.
I've bought a laptop and 3 phones from this site, and sold 2 phones over the last 3 years. The process is easy, the customer service is prompt and helpful, and there is an assurance that you get what you pay for. Pay close attention to condition, because if something you buy isn't what it seems, you'll get your money back, it's happened to me one time.
Swappa is a reliable, professional and protected website for used phones. I searched on Craigslist for weeks and felt sick to my stomach not knowing anything about the seller. With Swappa each seller has a profile and every step of the way is easy and gives you peace of mind. Swappa and the seller were completely trustworthy. My phone arrived in two days and was exactly mint condition as described! I will definitely keep using Swappa for my used phone needs!
I've used Swappa for awhile now and will continue to use it even though my first purchase was a bad one. The IMEI number was blocked when I went to the T-Mobile store. I bought it on a Thursday and it was reported lost on Saturday. The seller said he buys and sells phones and that the number was good when he listed it, which is true. I returned the phone and got my money back. I was only out the return shipping cost, about $6.00 Whenever you buy a used phone there is always the possibility of it being reported lost or stolen no matter where you buy them. Ebay, Craigslist, Swappa, Amazon, ect. There is a RTC block now happening with phones purchase 6 months aga. RentaCenter is doing it. Google it. PayPal is the only recourse you've got. The phone companies and the insurance companies don't CARE if you can prove you bought it.
Swappa is the best site. I checked out several others and kept coming back to Swappa because the deals are fantastic and the company is there to assist if there is an issue. I had no issues with my purchase; I received my phone in two days! It's in great shape, just as advertised on Swappa... and I got it for a much better price than any other site.
Basically... there really are no standards that Swappa really holds the seller to. If your device doesn't arrive in the "stated condition" you must dispute this with the seller.
They have no control over shipping either.
Basically... you may wait 10 days to get an over rated phone that has a bunch of broken pixels. And there isn't a heck of a lot that you can do about it!
I am now only purchasing phones on Swappa. I had one negative experience that was not due to Swappa, but due to the seller. Swappa did what they could to communicate and open a channel for resolution. The outcome is actually better than I expected. It's important to read the reviews of sellers. They tell the tale that the listings might not. I have purchased my last 3 or 4 phones from them. I don't blame the actions of one seller on Swappa.
As a seller, I love Swappa. Easy going transaction, good and nice buyers. Fast and prompt response from Swappa whenever I need them! I was so surprised by their fast response first time actually! Awesome team! The buyers there are very nice too. They never give you a hard time to deal with! Of course, as a seller, I try my best to sell good and make my buyers feel easy and safe to buy too! Thank you all for a good business!
Swappa is great for buying and selling phones, tablets, etc. They at least do basic checks and require photo's of the actual device with it powered on. You won't get that from Ebay. Plus for sellers, the fact that the buyer pays the fee is great, because you only get charged the Paypal transaction fee. Having both bought and sold on Swappa, I can honestly say the experience is significantly better for both parties in a transaction.
My first busy was bad, the seller went absconding after payment. Swappa did help me recover my payment and PayPal returned the payment in 2-3 weeks. I was hesitant buy anything again, but you can't blame Swappa for few rotten eggs. The second buy was excellent, the seller was great and received the product in 2 days of purchase. As usual Swappa support team is always available to support.
Definitely recommend Swappa for pre-owned phones!
I've had a couple transactions that met my expectation of Ebay. This is not Ebay and I don't want to get treated as if I'm still there. 2 out of 4 were bad and the other 2 were excellent and I'm very pleased with. So it's getting better it's just a matter of weeding out lousy sellers.
I found out about swappa from a customer at work. I looked at the website that night and found exactly what I wanted. I felt like I could trust them because of the comments left by staff and the reviews of sellers by buyers. I ordered my phone Wednesday night and got it Friday morning. Everything was exactly as promised and the prices were way better than places like Amazon. EBay had some that were cheaper but I don't trust eBay at all. I would never buy something more than fifty dollars from them just because I'm afraid of being screwed over. I had a great experience with Swappa and I will definitely share my experience with friends and family. Thank you Swappa staff!
I was not a smart phone user & decided to buy a used one. Went looking online & decided which phone I wanted, Did a google search for the phone & found swappa.com. Doing my homework paid off greatly. I was able to find the kind of phone I wanted/color everything - phones in better condition than other sites, more options. I bought the phone & then thought of more questions. Emailed seller & got a very prompt response- I was impressed with this company. They have a large inventory for all needs. Highly recommend swappa.com for your phone needs.
I recently purchased a Iphone 5 off the Swappa website. The phone arrived very fast and was in brand new like condition. Due to the seller not handling the balance remaining from previous owner; I had to return the phone. I contacted the customer service via email, regarding my issue. The quickly responded to my complaints and quickly offered me a full refund. I am very impressed with their customer service team, and I will be doing business with them again.
I've sold on Swappa a few times but this was first actual purchase. To be on the opposite side I must say that Swappa is easy, convenient and prices are always competitive! I would recommended both selling and shopping on Swappa anytime!
I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S5 using Swappa.com. All help links were easily located on the site's first page. The transaction was smooth, the updates via email and tracking were very helpful. I love this site and their prices are the best.
I've bought several devices off Swappa over the years and every time I've had a great experience. It's like buying a used device on eBay, Amazon or Craigslist, but without the fear of being cheated, ripped-off, or murdered in some dark alley.

Answer: Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.
Answer: Yes, you should remove and keep your SIM card when you sell your used phone. SIM cards are tied to your account, so are not transferable. More information and why in our FAQ: https://swappa.com/faq/sell/sim_card_included
Answer: Because they are scammers and a holes. They can't be bothered with you. Awful site. Use eBay instead.
Answer: Swappa guarantees it which goes above and beyond paypal. They are running IMEI checks and they do a great job. It's on you when you receive your phone to go through the phone check list to make sure it's good, checking cameras, microphones wfi, bluetooth, water damage check, things like that. Its really worry free buying.
Answer: Contact Swappa support. If an item is not as described by seller, the buyer is entitle to a refund.
Answer: Most sellers don't ship to African countries. This is because they include a reasonable fee on their prices to cover for shipping in the US, I guess shipping to Africa would come at a higher cost and they seem to be avoiding that for whatever reason. However, you can research and register for a freight forwarding company and have your orders shipped to them. In turn, these companies will forward your order to you when they receive it. As I pointed out before, this is something you have to read about and carefully consider. Hope that helps.
Swappa has a rating of 3.6 stars from 3,176 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Swappa most frequently mention great experience, new phone and mint condition. Swappa ranks 5th among Marketplace sites.
Swappa has higher selling standards than most every other marketplace out there. We have a strict "no junk devices" policy that only allows fully functional devices. If you receive something that does not match the advertised description you are entitled to a full refund.
We’re sorry to hear it sounds like you may have had a bad buying experience. When that happens sometimes you do need to work with PayPal to get a refund, as they directly handle the payments between buyer and seller.
