Very safe, I've bought and sold over 40 phones using Swappa and have only had one problem... When that happened both Swappa and PayPal had my back.

I buy and sell all my phones on Swappa. Plus they are always friendly and helpful if you have a question! I highly recommend Swappa to everyone I talk to!

Not a regular here so not sure if i would be really qualified to answer it but based on the only one transaction i had recently, I would say its safe in that: i received the product as described and have it shipped on time (to my suite).

I am going through this right now. Paid for a mint phone and received a banged up phone. Swappa is telling me to resolve the issue by contacting the seller as swappa is not the "middleman". Of course the seller is denying that he sent a phone covered in scratches. It's gonna take PayPal 30 days resolve the dispute. I'm out of $600 for another 30 days until this is resolved. I'm so disappointed

I have bought 3 phones. 1st was blacklisted within 10 month and I could no longer use. 2nd phone charging port went out not to long after purchase. 3rd phone apple will no longer support updates without the phone shutting of. Good luck I recommend you shop at phone store. Tried it 3 times I will not be back.

I found it to be safe as a buyer and then as a seller. I had to pay a fee as a seller, not as a buyer. Pay Pal is used and has protections and Swappa has pretty strict guidelines. Just like anything in a used marketplace, if the deal is to good to be true, it probably isn't and if any information is missing or the pics are not detailed and clear, do not buy.

It's safe if your a seller. As a buyer expect to deal only with paypal during a dispute. You will never talk to a person and they will delete and/or edit buyer feedback to favor seller. They work off of commission so there main interest is high volume sales.

I agree with Born. I had a few positive purchases, than a horrible one and Swappa did not help. I felt like I got ripped off and Swappa just said "you and the seller need work it out".

I've never had a problem! It's a great marketplace backed by PayPal transactions. I can't think of a safer way.

I found it to be very safe. Bought phones for my daughter and myself and we are very happy. I would not have bought from one of the businesses that lists many phones. I chose individuals who bought their phones new and then passed them on... to me. Look for phones that are still under warranty... you'll have nothing to lose.

The problem with swappa is that if you get ripped off they are no help whatsoever. I had a couple of great transactions there then got ripped off and Swappa deleted my account when I got increasingly aggressive with my complaints. At least on Ebay you have their buyer protection if you get ripped off. I personally will never consider buying/selling anything on swappa.

I would say it's safety is equal to buying or selling something at a yard sale. It is only as reliable as the parties involved and your address is given to the other party. You have to pay a fee to buy, instead of sell. SWAPPA does not get involved with disputes, that is all done through PayPal. The fee is for having access to the seller, via their website. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience using SWAPPA's website.
