I always thought Sundance Catalogue was supposed to be a good company. High prices, yes. Quality, not so much. What really got me, though, is I ordered three items that came in two separate shipments. I returned two of them the next day. That has been almost a month. The first time I called, they said, "it just arrived today, and it is processing." A week goes by, no word. I call again. This time, "It hasn't arrived yet, but looks like it will. Give it another week." I did, no word. I called again, and I was told items arrived but there is a backlog of doing refunds and I should wait another two weeks. Why are there so many refunds? That's for another post. I finally went to the BBC, and there are similar complaints there. Sundance always gives the same answer to them, using the same verbiage. I have no idea if those people ever got their refunds or not. They owe me over $200, and I want it. In the interim, I ordered other clothes and shoes from other companies, and each time I returned something, I was refunded the same day it was received. Anthropologie refunds the day you ship. What's up with this company? Are they keeping the company running by using refund money not sent out? I will never buy from them again. I will also spread the word.
Sure wish I had read a few of these reviews BEFORE I ordered from them. I guess I assumed the outrageous prices on everything would indicate the quality of both the product and the company overall. Ordered a dress that took a week to receive, returned it the next day March 16, and as of today April 16 I have not received my refund. This is terrible service. Their replies are always "you should be getting it soon" or we are processing returns from whatever week they say. I have emailed them 3 times and have had no satisfaction. AND they charge you to return it. Low class if you ask me. I purchased some things from ASOS after Sundance, returned a few items and received a full refund already. Free shipping and free returns at ASOS. This is a sham and I agree with others who say don't order if you are under 5'8". In fact don't order from here at all.
I've been buying clothes from Sundance for years and typically love their products. However, I just had my first experience dealing with their customer service department after they charged my wrong card for a purchase. Absolutely NO HELP whatsoever from them. They will no longer get my business.
I love this catalog, their jewelry and their style. But because I am 5'3" I am disappointed 99% of the time. Shirts and sweaters look like baggy dresses on me. I once tried a white shawl and looked like I was wearing a ghost costume for halloween. I just wish they had sizing options like "normal" and "tall", or they should admit that they design clothing for model thin, tall people only.
My first order from Sundance, a blazer, looked good on the site. They sent me a note to say it was back ordered. It was then delayed a total of 3 weeks. When I got it the quality was so poor I sent it straight back. 3 weeks later I spoke to them to see where the refund was, takes 30 days just to process the return I'm told. Should have read the small print. Also out $8 as you get to pay the return fee. Still waiting for my refund.
Needless to say I wont be placing a second order
Better customer service could have prevented this, just turn the return around quickly like other catalogue sites and the delays and quality issues are forgotten.
Bought a beautiful ring on clearance in 2017
I've worn it maybe a total of 10 times. While out last night, I looked down and realized the stone had fallen out. Sorry but that should NEVER happen. I own loads of rings and have never had a stone fall out! I retraced my steps but no avail. I reached out to Sundance this am and was told that clearance items only have a 30 day policy. Sorry but somethings wrong with that. I take very good care of my jewelry, this was not neglect on my part! Sundance is not a cheap company but definitely has a "cheap" customer service policy! Sorry for me and sorry for Sundance, I won't ever purchase another item from them again!
Gosh I was wondering if anyone else was having a problems with Sundance. This is like a joke. The first items I bought on sale, it was burlap bag that smelled like musk. I would not resale it online, I dont even want to give it away. And I was foolish enough to keep it to avoid fees. The next 2 items never arrived. I had to wait till hell froze over for that refund. I then proceed to really press my bad luck with them and purchased another jacket. Now if I had a very narrow back, and long long arms, and was shaped like an alien, this jacket would work. 25 days later still waiting for the return to my card. I called twice, 15 days after I sent it, they said its on its way. Just called, they received it. Will receive a refund with 15 days. Never, ever, ever again. I feel like contact Redford. "what the hell?"
I have received this catalog for a while now and always enjoy seeing it. I finally ordered something but it will absolutely be the last time. %17.95 in shipping for something that cost nowhere near that to ship... then to add insult to injury, the items was no better than a rag. Horrid quality and an additional $8-$13 charge for the honor of returning the item with no clarification of which charge it will be. I will NEVER patronize this business again. SO disappointed.
I had the absolute worst customer service ever with Sundance! I ordered some items in December sent them back! It is February now still no package! Called customer service and had A representative on the phone that was extremely rude
I have been receiving the Sundance catalog for years. It doesn't say much for me that I just now realized that in its entirety there is not a single black or brown model. I will not be buying again from Sundance until this is rectified. Wake up marketing department; you are way, way behind your competitors in this area. There is only one way to interpret this.
I would like to express my grievance at customer service in Sundance catalog. In August I ordered a lamp, bed skirt and two shams. I October I received an email that my lamp order was simply canceled. I waited all that time without looking into any other options, it was a gift for 50 birthday for someone. Huge disappointment, and customer service was just like not caring whatsoever. Now I received a bed skirt and 1 sham... other sham is scheduled to arrive in April. And customer service is terrible, just happy to press canceled button and have it over with. Not caring, cold, I would say borderline rude. So my experience will not get me back to do any future purchases from that company. I think if Robert Redford would know what is going on with customer service, he would unfortunately probably fall off the pony. Yes that is bad.
I used their label to ship back some merchandise, and UPS tracking indicates they received the box.
5 weeks later, no refund. When I called them, they said they would process the refund in 1-2 more weeks - they are "really busy".
I do a lot of online shopping, and this website consistently ships late, and refunds even later... no clothing is worth this hassle.
If you're looking for something that may appear stylish this may be your place however if you also want or expect quality you may need to look elsewhere. I received a pair of men's lounging pants as a gift they were the wrong side so sent them back. I received the replacements with a section of the outside seeing that had never been sold at the factory I return them. I just received the third pair with an inside pocket that has been sown together. I'll just keep these and never use that pocket. It may come in handy if I need to scratch my leg.
Like many others here, I too was shocked to learn about the shipping costs at Sundance. I thought - this can't possibly be right - $20.00 to ship 2 small shirts but then an additional $8 to return? When I called the company, an EXTREMELY rude representative confirmed that yes, to shop at Sundance, you should be able to pay top dollar for shipping. This is a particularly significant problem for Sundance, because in my experience with the outlet store over many years, most of the clothing doesn't fit quite right and is of variable quality. It's extremely apparent that that, at Sundance, customers not in the 1% are not valued at all.
I was about to pull the trigger on a $218 cashmere sweater I'd fallen in love with and been thinking about for months but when I got to the checkout and saw $19.95 for shipping I said screw that! I've done this before with them but not for something this expensive. I thought for sure shipping would be free but I forgot who I was dealing with :(. Their shipping costs are always way higher than other high end companies but this was totally ridiculous. I live chatted with someone for answers and then said something about return policy, S and H, blah, blah, blah. So disappointed because I really love their stuff. Last year I waited 6 months for a back ordered belt my mom got me for Xmas. It was a total ordeal too but I do love the belt and wear it all the time.
I ordered a dress on 4/18. It arrived fairly promptly. The fit was terrible and I returned it on 4/25. I called today (May 21) to enquire about my refund. I was told that my return had been received on 5/7, but they were 'just now getting around to processing the items received on 5/7', and it would be another 5-7 days until I would see the credit. SAY WHAT? I did read similar reviews regarding the painful return process, but had high hopes that the dress would work for me, so I went ahead and took a chance. NEVER AGAIN. PLEASE - if you're considering ordering from this company, be aware that the shipping charges are exorbitant, and the return process is laborious. (and also costly).
Buyer beware and take what others have said to heart! I ordered a bracelet that I had wanted to wear while on holiday that came in defective. I ordered a new one for the occasion while returning the defective one the same day. It's been four weeks and I've now returned from holiday only to discover they have not yet issued the refund. Now I'm having to call daily to have one of their "reps" follow-up with their "refund department" to see what the delay or "issue" is even though they have documented that they did receive the bracelet on 12/14/17, in their possession for three weeks! The item was rather pricey for the quality, but I liked the look of the bracelet and thought it was worth the exchange. In hind sight I would not have ordered from them had I researched what others had to say about their poor return policy! I do not see why I should have to support Robert Redford's lifestyle and nor shall I ever again!
As a special purchase, I decided to buy a pair of Melina shorts listed in the latest Sundance catalog. They were fairly expensive, but would have been worth it, IF properly constructed. Instead, I was appalled. I wear a size 4, and am normally proportioned. If I had a flat butt and a big protruding stomach, they would have been dandy. Yuk. They were a horrible fit for someone normally proportioned, and were a whopping waste of money for me, as I have had to pay $22.00 in shipping and return charges for a substandard garment. I do not recommend Sundance, and will take my business elsewhere.
Purchased item and packaging and presentation is better at the Dollar store. Item was almost $200. Item not impressive. So returned. I shipped item to my neighbor as was not going to be home. Returned item. After waiting a month and no credit called company. Said would send gift card to address I shipped to unless that person called and would request refund to credit card. Asked for supervisor multiple times and call back, did not get. So neighbor called for me... so awful as I ordered and it was my credit card. I should say what to do with my money. As of now still waiting on refund and they have had return at there warehouse 37 days and counting. I WILL NEVER shop with them again. Worst experience with any company ever!
I just realized, after posting a critical statement about Sundance customer service, that they have a 21% customer review rating. I respect and support Bob Redford and his activism, and engage in that myself as a professional. I just wish that he'd take his highly profitable upper-scale clothing business with the same devotion as he does his personal beliefs. Time for a house cleaning at Sundance Catalog!
Answer: No. Sold it to a lawless private equity firm. Took the money and ran laughing all the way to the bank. Screw the customer until there are none, then just rebrand and keep screwing the customer. But when it comes down to it, its up to consumers to do their homework on all e-commerce as there are few laws, protections, and really no regulatory oversight/enforcement for this kind of criminal fraud which is rampant in the US now. Other countries have enviable common sense laws governing e-commerce on their books because their citizens wont tolerate the sort of abuses and fraud perpetrated by companies like Sundance, et al.
Answer: Shipping costs are extremely high, shipping is very slow and quality is not consistent.
Answer: The photos are so deceptive that the product you receive is nothing like them. See my photos below. I wish Sundance would do better.
Answer: No you don't! Overpriced and poor quality. I Purchased a necklace on sale and it was so tiny I returned it. This company is no longer affiliated with Robert Redford!
