I could write a very, very, very long review describing all the problems I've had with StubHub this season trying to sell my season tickets but I'll try to be brief. First, they stopped allowing seat numbers, terrible if you have good seats and the difference between you and other seats in your row could be 50 yard line or 35 yard line. They've had "glitches" the last two months, every time I called it's because I couldn't list with a feature or comment while other seats had the comment I wanted to list, or it would only allow posting with a barcode after I listed, then cancelled, then relisted to try and get a feature to be added. There are several options for transfer type with my tickets, just not on StubHub this particular day, less than 48 hours before the game.
Also, generally speaking, I understand how they can justify not paying you until after the event. Navigating cancelled events and refunds for every type of event (college football in my case) is probably tricky, so putting it back on the original seller because it's easier to just let them deal with any refund seem to make sense from StubHub's position. But they already have the money from the buyer, so why has my payment always processed on the last day of their payment timing policy, in a couple cases over biz 8 days.
There was a time when they were good at customer service. Nothing is perfect, systems have issues at times. And despite some language issues with their call center agents making my problems take longer at times to work through than I thought it should, all the agents I've dealt with have been very friendly and tried to be helpful. But literally NONE of the "glitch" issues I dealt with this season were ever resolved. It was a giant waste of my time, and the agent's time. I got the "It will be escalated" many times, nothing. Using a foreign call center is not a problem if your agents can effectively communicate with customers, I found this not to be true in some cases, making getting to "It's a glitch and I can't do anything but it will be escalated" phase of the call much longer to get to. Frustrating.
StubHub is a for profit business. I'm a fan of that. But when you go from being maybe the most convenient platform with very good customer service to what it is today. I'm out. TickPick, Vivid, TicketMaster are all a much better service right now. I'd advise not to use StubHub for the next couple years. Hopefully things change there. For now, avoid it.
I bought tickets in August to a show in late October. When I go to shows, I always purchase seats that are within the first few rows of the stage. I bought two tickets in row C (third row). A few weeks later, I received tickets in row N. Called StubHub, they advised me to return the tickets, and they would find me replacement tickets. They found tickets in row B. Sounds fair right? Except the seller NEVER shipped them. I called StubHub every day the week before the show to please cancel that order and order me new tickets because I had a terrible feeling that this seller never even had the tickets in hand. They kept telling me that I should be receiving them on October 27th... 3 days before the show. They gave me the run around over and over saying that I was protected by their Fan Protection or whatever it was. And if those tickets never came in they would try to give me replacement ones or a full refund. FIRST OF ALL, I was monitoring the sales of tickets for this show pretty much every hour, watching all comparable tickets sell out. There was no way in hell that there would be any tickets left come the day of the show that were comparable to the ones I purchased. SECOND OF ALL, I don't want a refund, I want to go to the damn show! I bought these in August for a show 2+ months later... a refund is not going to be the solution. Plus, this was a birthday gift for my fiance to make matters worse. The day after I demanded a refund, StubHub called me to tell me that the seller had these tickets on will call. BULL$#*!. StubHub isn't even supposed to allow Will Call tickets to be sold on the site! And I could just imagine, come the night of the show, I would attempt to get my tickets and they wouldn't be there. I was so fed up with StubHub that I demanded a refund. And now I am not going to the show. You would think StubHub would try to make it better and would have ordered me complimentary tickets to the show, but nope, couldn't even get that. Extremely disappointed, and will absolutely never purchase from StubHub ever again.
Worst company I have had to interact with in a long time. I tried to sell 2 tickets on stub hub. I sold my tickets, called Stub hub to make sure I did it correctly (they confirmed) and now they are saying I missed a step and will not pay me for the sale! Legit they are the worst. If you want to buy or sell tickets use Ticketmaster or LEGIT ANY OTHER PLATFORM
I had two tickets to a basketball game I could not attend, lower-level center court. I posted the tickets a week before the event and the buyer purchased the tickets at 10PM the night before they were about to go off sale (StubHub requires you to have at least 3 days of delivery time). I got up at 7AM the next morning, drove to the UPS store in a foot of snow and got my tickets delivered. The next night at 5PM I got an email saying the buyer got their tickets and I would get my money within five days. TWO DAYS LATER (the night before the event) the buyer claimed I sent them "Student Only" tickets and they were shipping them back. My account was charged $50 and they never shipped the tickets back. I can only assume the buyer claimed this and then used the tickets. I have contacted StubHub a total of five times (via live chat and phone call) and I keep getting the same response, "if you would have disclosed that these tickets were student tickets this would not have happened to you." THEY WERE NOT STUDENT TICKETS. Basically I got scammed by a buyer and StubHub is too money hungry to even look into the truth. NEVER USE THIS SERVICE.
These people are flat-out liars.
I paid them €1,175 for a ticket to the final of the Euro 2020 football championships, I then flew to London and the final was to be the highlight of the trip. Weeks later and 3 days before the game, Stubhub emailed me to say the ticket holder had transferred it to my name. I checked my email - and the spam and junk folders. Nothing there. I continued checking non-stop for the next 3 days. I am 100% certain the ticket was never transferred. The trip cost me a fortune. Not getting my ticket for this major event was devastating.
I also know with 100% certainty that Stubhub was not interested in hearing from me. How? Because they made it impossible to contact them! Every email they sent me was from a "do not reply" email address and when I emailed it it came back "could not be delivered". They pretend on their website that they have a 100% customer guarantee in the event of non-delivery of tickets - garbage! They also claim to have a customer service team ready to assist you if you have problems - I phoned their local 0800 number countless times and the phone just rang non-stop every time. There is no way on God's earth they do no know about this. It is just a front to give the impression they are there to help you.
Stubhub also let me down in 2019 when I travelled halfway across the world to watch the Champions League final in Madrid, phoning me 3 days before my flight to say they couldn't deliver my ticket after all. I gave them a 2nd chance because they refunded the cost of that ticket.
The way ticketing sites like this operate is that either they or the original ticket holder wait and decide whether to deliver your ticket nearer the time - if the ticket price soars (as this latest one did, because England were in the final) they simply resell it to someone else for a far higher price and rake in the extra profit. That is immoral enough - but to pretend you have delivered a ticket knowing full well you haven't is criminal in my book.
Why do Stubhub and websites like them do this? Because they can! There is no legal framework that holds these crooks responsible. People can't be bothered hiring a lawyer to sue them for breach of contract. I still have the receipt and all emails. Meanwhile, I hope this post and the ones I post elsewhere save some people from the grave disappointment Stubhub will cause them.
Something needs to be done to protect their customers from this daylight robbery. That protection sure isn't being offered by this outfit.
I purchased two lBilly Ellish tickets in December 2019 for my daughters Christmas present for her concert in March 2020 for $755.20. I asked for a refund when postponed. I was told no refunds until event was canceled. Her concert was finally canceled in December 2020. I called December 10,2020 and was told I could get a coupon at 120% value or a refund. I chose the refund. I was then told it would go back to the card I used to purchase in 120 days. I called back on February 10th complaining about the 120 day wait and wanted my refund expedited. I was told it would be in my account on April 8,2021. On April 8,2021, there was still no refund in my bank account so I called again. I was told it would be in my account on April 9,2021. On April 9,2021, the money was not in my account still, and I called again and spoke with Kevin. I was told it would take 5 to 8 days to process once the 120 days was over. On April 21,2021, there is still no money in my account. I called and spoke with Shernppe. She told me she could expedite which would be another two weeks. How do you expedite when you have waited 120 days and an additional 8 business days. She said it would be two weeks to be expedited. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that supervisor was busy and would call me back, but the supervisor would not be able to offer me anything else. Please boycott StubHub - they will never get any of my money again. They have take advantage of people during a pandemic. I don't know how their CEO sleeps at night while taking advantage of his consumers. When this pandemic is over, people are going to remember how you did business, and I hope that no one uses your service.
I ordered tickets on StubHub and received black and white copies of downloadable tickets. I have gone back and forth with them for days. Every rep i call said they will get back to me and no one ever does. I finally allegedly reached a supervisor yesterday who not only said she would get back to me but would get back to me in two hours. NOT A WORD FROM HER. I called them again today and simply told them again. "I ordered tickets -not a down load or instant download, or e-tickets etc. I selected a seller indicating he was shipping tickets via UPS. What I received was black and white copies of someone else's PDF downloaded tickets. I explained to StubHub I did not order a duplicate ticket to an event but my intention was to purchase the only ticket to my seat. Right now I own a duplicate of the original. There are at least two of my tickets available to the show. The seller could print out a few more and sell those too if he/she desires. I explained to StubHub this is fraud. To knowingly take my money and sell me a duplicate ticket to my seat to this event. IT IS FRAUD. I asked them for my money back 15 times. They answer NO. I told them to take my duplicate ticket back and resell it themselves and provide me with real tickets being the one and only ticket to my seat to the show. They said no to that. The seller of my ticket violated StubHub seller policies. I pointed that out to StubHub they didn't care. They insisted my duplicate black and white copy of the original ticket is a valid ticket. How they can state a duplicate ticket is valid is nuts! They knowingly sold me a duplicate ticket ---FRAUD
I have been trying to resolve this issue up front with StubHub to no avail. The show is 6 weeks away and i thought they would want to correct the situation. Nope they got paid. They keep pushing their fan guarantee. All it guarantees is that if your ticket doesn't work you'll get your money back. They say you can call them for a new ticket on the spot and if a ticket is available through them, not the venue they will email you one. I suggested to them their fan guarantee should be to correct the fraud they perpetrated on me in selling me one of at least two tickets available to the same seat at the same show.!
I hope someone at consumer affairs reads this and initiates an investigation into these fraudulent practices by StubHub
WARNING! Bait and switch and horrible customer service!
Please be very careful if you use this company. We had a very bad experience recently trying to use a parking spot we reserved for a concert. We reserved a spot in a particular parking lot that was.3 miles away from the venue we were going to for the concert. We reserved a spot to be sure we were able to get a close to the venue, since one member of our group is mobility challenged (can walk short distances slowly with a cane). We specifically booked that lot because it was close as identified by the cross streets for the lot that we selected (we knew exactly where the lot was). This lot was confirmed when we booked. We were given a receipt but a ticket would not be issued for another day or so.
Once we received the email ticket a few days before the event, we took a quick read and verified a ticket was indeed there, assuming it was for what we purchased. We printed the ticket shortly before leaving the house for the concert.
Upon arrival at the lot we had reserved our spot, they said the ticket was for another lot, which was over a 1 mile away! Obviously, we had no choice but to find that lot since all lots were filling fast and we didn't want to miss the event. We found the new lot and that lot was closed and full! We spoke to the attendant and told him we had a paid ticket. Thankfully, he felt bad and "created" a space for us in a corner (it wasn't really a space). Travel to and from the venue was horrible for our friend which set a bad tone for the evening. Keep in mind, we were not late arriving to these lots, we were well within the arrival window.
When we called Stubhub the next day to explain the situation and ask for a refund, we expected an easy conversation and refund since we did not get a ticket for the lot we reserved and purchased. Instead, we spend over 30 minutes on the phone arguing with the person and they finally agreed to a maximum 25% refund (which basically covers the service fee). This is completely unacceptable. The fact that the company committed to a parking lot then supplied a ticket for a lot much further away is unacceptable and perhaps even illegal. We clearly did not get what we paid for. We won't be using this company again as I do not agree with their potentially unlawful practices and horrible customer service, I suggest you think twice as well!
I only used StubHub once to buy a pair of ACC basketball championship tickets that were completely sold out. Our college team made it to the final four and I was very happy that I was able to get tickets for my husband and myself (both attended the same college). This was back in 2016, but I ran across my old ticket when I was cleaning out my room today so I wanted to post a nice review here since I had a good experience with StubHub.
Yes, I paid way too much, more than the ticketed price, but I knew StubHub was a reseller unlike some other deceptive reseller websites that exist now a days. I had a horrible experience at another reseller website recently, I am old and don't pay attention to fine prints on the websites as much as I used to so I didn't realize that I was on a reseller website until I had already purchased the tickets. They had tiny print at the very top of the screen where it stated that they were resellers, but I was too concerned about getting the tickets before they would sell out that I didn't even notice the verbiage. My eyes were focused in the center of the screen where they advertised being "100% Guarantee" and "Instant download". Unfortunately, they wouldn't cancel my order even though I called them within minutes of submitting the online order and explained to them that I made a mistake and didn't realize that I was paying 3x the normal price. They said there is No Refund Policy. I feel like I was scammed because the tickets that I purchased were not even available for sale to public yet so they could have refunded my money. I googled and Ticket Masters will start selling them to public this week, Monday as presale and Friday to general public. So very disappointing.
StubHub will scam you out of your money if they get the chance. This company is currently trying to scam me out of $350. I am in the process of talking with my bank to try and ensure this doesn't happen.
Awhile ago I listed some hockey tickets for sale as I could not go to the game. No one ended up buying these tickets, or so I thought, so I gave them to a friend. The day after the game, I get an email from StubHub saying my tickets did in fact sell, and that because I gave the tickets to someone else and the ticket buyers could not get into the game, I would be charged $350 in fees. Here is the problem, StubHub is supposed to send you an email once your tickets have sold, but I NEVER received an email saying this.
StubHub then told me that the tickets had apparently sold on 11/10. When I checked my emails, I had zero saying the tickets sold. But I did have an email on 11/26 saying the listing for my tickets would expire. So, SIXTEEN days after the tickets apparently sold, I receive an email saying the listing is about to expire? Makes no sense.
When I brought these issues up to John in executive claims, he completely blew them off. He told me that I should talk to customer service (even though they had not responded to my emails and could not help me). However, he did address the fact that I never received an email, and told me it was probably just a glitch in the system. He said, despite the fact that I never received an email, it was still my fault. I relied on the fact that StubHub tells you they will send you an email when your tickets sell. I checked my emails consistently, trusting them to keep their word and send me an email. I received nothing, yet it is my fault.
How do I NOT receive an email stating my tickets have sold, but I receive an email 16 days after they claim they sold saying the listing is about the expire? How is this still my fault?
I am currently in the process of talking to my bank, as stated before. I am a 17 year old girl living on my own. It took me months of saving and working over time to try and see this game and treat myself. Now, I am being scammed out of $350, something I cannot afford. StubHub is just another big business looking to screw over the little people. Please learn from me and do not waste your time or money on this company.
I tried using Stub Hub for the 1st Time recently to sell 2 tickets for I Love the 90s' concert and WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN! When I searched for my concert title on their website couldn't find the date my tickets were for. All of the other concert dates were listed but not the date I had. I realized I could find my concert date if I typed in the concert name plus added all of the artists names along with it. No one is going to search for a concert that way. I immediately contacted them to be told it was an error and it would be corrected within 3 days. Well I checked, and again it wasn't corrected so I contacted them a 2nd time to be told it would be correct within 3 days. Yet again it wasn't corrected. I then contacted them a 3rd time to be told my issue would be escalated but it was only corrected at the last minute and my tickets did not sell. I know my tickets would have sold had people been able to find them easily on the website. I even reduced my tics well below others and it was too late. I contacted Stub Hub to tell my this and I was told there is not guarantee. WHAT? I never expected a guarantee but I expected my tickets to be exposed to as many people as possible and that did not happen. WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! I DESERVE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR MY TICKETS WHICH I WAS DENIED.
The first time we bought StubHub tickets they were outright forgeries. We got our money back but only after arriving at the event and being embarrassed and disappointed, and spending over an hour on the phone with foreign call centers. The second time an envelope with the return address on Dean Martin Drive appeared at our house, something in my mind screamed "scam." My husband forgot my ban on StubHub and had purchased tickets to a musical show at a theater in nearby Washington, DC. The tickets looked real, but had a $0 value on them and I could not find the seats on the seating chart. I called the theater to verify the tickets, and after a long, long time dialing different numbers, was put in touch with the VIP Seats Manager. The tickets are real, part of a subscription package, but they are not supposed to be resold. The manager said we could use them, but indicated that she tries to weed out buyers who resell these VIP tickets. She said the tickets were actually a package that includes a parking pass to the garage attached to the theater, a special entrance, and several other nice perks. We did not get information on the package with the two tickets we got, and certainly did not get the parking pass. Calls to StubHub are difficult, so I thought I'd try the chat function on their website. I got an English-as-a-second-language "listener" who did not listen to me at all. I asked that StubHub contact the seller to see where the parking pass was. After a lot of back and forth and the "listener" saying no several different ways, she indicated that the seller was one of their very large resellers of tickets and that the seller only has to send what it listed in the ad, so the reseller fulfilled his/her/it's duty sending the two tickets. The takeaway from this experience is any time you get theater tickets on StubHub, verify them with the theater itself. The theater manager said that they had a party of eight with $1000 of forged tickets purchased on StubHub last week. My tickets are valid, but had I not been on the phone for 45 minutes to contact the VIP coordinator at the theater, I would not have known about the other benefits that go along with the ticket or that the tickets are sold by subscription only. It's really too much time and trouble going through StubHub in my opinion. Theater is such a personal experience and it's better to buy the tickets through the theater box office for the next show you're interested in rather than purchase a possibly forged ticket, go through the rigmarole of verifying it, and possibly not receive all the benefits that go with the seat (in my case parking on a certain level and a parking pass).
I contacted Stub hub about 4 OU vs Texas Tickets for Saturday, October 11,2014 that I needed to sell. They instructed me to take the tickets to the LMS station in Dallas. I was told to download the app and I could watch the tickets and adjust the price to make sure they sold. I started the tickets high and began to lower the price. I had 2 other tickets for the same game that had sold on Stub Hub right away. It was getting closer and closer to the game time and I finally went and looked at the site and the ORIGINAL high price was all that was showing up. I called stub hub right away and spoke with Dewayne Bodenheimer and he checked their website and agreed that it was their website that was malfunctioning and was not reflecting the correct price of my tickets and he could not get the price to change. He offered me $100 credit on Stub Hub and to wave the fees on my next listing. I declined and told him to have a supervisor call me. She did at 8 pm that night. The game was at 11 am. She told me the same thing only she offered me $200 credit. The tickets were in their possession in Dallas upon their request & I was in Plano. Their webpage malfunctioned and they would not take responsibility! I could have sold those tickets for $200 a piece at the game. My request is that they take responsibility for their malfunctioning web site and give me the face value of my tickets. They would not honor my request. Very Very Poor Business Ethics! Their reasoning was because they did not own the tickets and they were just a secondary ticket market place. Well they sure held my tickets hostage at their LMS ticket office! My tickets were clearly in their possession. I listed the tickets with with what was supposed to be a fully functional web site reflecting my price. Clearly it was not functioning correctly that day! These people make money off of other people's tickets every day but when it's time for them to take responsibility for their malfunctioning website they stink! I got nothing but scripted answers from both employees.
DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM STUB HUB!. This is the worst site I have ever dealt with and i will let anyone to know how horrible this company is. I bought 2 tickets for Chelsea FC vs Brighton & Hove Albion FC - Premier Ligue, TOTAL: 377.98. Reference number: 5M4H2F1N9424. The match was postponed, as a result of Chelsea reaching the Carabao Cup Final. And stubhub give false dates for the event already 4 times. When the date approaches, they cancel it and give a new fake date. So, already 4 times! The original date was 23 February, then it was changed on 24 February, then on 16 March... Yesterday I received an email, that the Chelsea FC vs Brighton FC is on 12th of May! And this is a fake date again, because according to the Premier League program, there are other matches on this date - Leycester /Chelsea and Brighton/ Man City! StuHub do this, because if there is no fixed date, the event will be deemed "Cancelled", acording their "Terms and Conditions", and they have to do a refund. So they give false dates and then cancel them! In fact, а real fixed date for Chelsea FC vs Brighton is nowhere announced at this stage!. HORRIBLE COMPANY! NEVER AGAIN STUBHUB! NEVER!
BEWARE! MAKING A PURCHASE FROM STUBHUB DOES NOT MEAN YOU GO TO A GAME. They can take it back hours later and cancel the purchase just before the game you planned to attend. It is such a terrible business and they don't care. We bought tickets from STUBHUB this morning for our family of 4 to go to the Atlanta Hawks playoff basketball game. The sale went through on the agreed upon price and they took our money for the assigned seats in the Terrace level. I stopped looking for other tickets and my family all got ready for the game tonight. My husband even got off work early. As we were leaving to go to the game, StubHub sends us a notice that lets us know 2hrs before the game that the tickets we bought and paid for are now not available. There are no other tickets available together in the stadium except in the most upper deck at the same price. They just said "Sorry, it happens" and stated that BUYING A TICKET FROM THEM DOES NOT MEAN YOU GET THE TICKET OR GET TO GO TO THE GAME. If the seller also sells the tickets on another site (like Ticketmaster), STUBHUB has no way of knowing this but holds your money and leads you to believe you have the tickets which you bought. How do these companies not have a way to guarantee their tickets or monitor if the seller even has the tickets or is still selling them? You can buy the tickets, make plans, and then find out right before the game the tickets you bought aren't there? What? They sell tickets they have no access to and cannot guarantee anything- A PURCHASE MEANS NOTHING!. I spent hours on the phone with customer service and their response is just "Sorry". This is such a terrible business model. Please use another way to purchase tickets as STUBHUB IS A MESS - THEY CAN ONLY TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT CAN"T DELIVER TICKETS. EVEN AFTER THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY, A PURCHASE MEANS NOTHING. We still haven't even been refunded our money and our plans are ruined. How can they not let you know in a timely manner the purchase made from them was not a purchase? Their business is to sell tickets but they can't actually deliver what you purchase. We could have gotten tickets elsewhere if if we knew right away, but STUBHUB CAN"T MONITOR THEIR OWN TICKETS. We are all so disappointed. WHAT A SHAM!
They are very reliable and very easy to buy tickets from
Awesome sight, was able to sell my unused concert tickets very easily. Will do business here again.
Extremely greedy company. There are other ticket resale sites that you can buy from for less.
Answer: That's my assumption. Some other people on this site might be able to answer that from actual experience.
Answer: They sell tickets they do not actually have yet. They started selling tickets for a Garth Brooks concert in Salt Lake City before tickets even went on sale. They have no way of knowing if they will actually get tickets to fulfill orders, and just cancel the order the day before the event if they don't have the tickets. Its pretty much a gamble with Stub Hub if you will get your tickets or not.
Answer: Stub hub only does resales so they can rip off the seller as well as the buyer
Answer: Hello Gisela! We aren't able to have you sell will call as an ID will need to be presented for pick up. Hope this helps!
Answer: Hi Rachael, If you purchase a ticket labeled as Instant Download you will receive your ticket as soon as you order. If you purchase a mobile ticket or electronic download then you will be notified when your ticket is ready. Which would be no later than the date advised when you purchase. It is very rare to not have your ticket prior to the day of event. There are only a select few shows that require ticket delivery day of event. I hope this helps and we are here to assist if you have any additional questions!
Answer: Some of these sellers do not own the actual tickets so they are buying time to get the tickets from someone else who can't attend the event and wants to sell their tickets.
StubHub has a rating of 1.2 stars from 919 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with StubHub most frequently mention customer service, credit card and next day. StubHub ranks 224th among Concert Tickets sites.
Dennis we are so sorry for this frustrating experience. Sellers don't always provide a hard ticket that you are looking for to events. Alot of events don't provide those tickets any longer. We assure you your ticket is valid for entry and we would hold this seller accountable if it was not and work to get you into the event. Let us take a look at your specific order and see what we can do to assist. We will private message you here for your account info.
