Unable to sell
July 1, 2022

During the first week of June, StubHub apparently merged with Viagogo and their ability to sell MLB tickets was shut down. I never received any notification of this and tried to sell my LA Angels/Boston Red Sox tickets. I futzed around for an hour trying to get the website to work on multiple browsers, but then dug deeper to see that the site was shut down for maintenance. No warning or indication on the site. I couldn't sell my expensive seats so had to eat them to the tune of $420. Then I found that the site was supposed by operational by June 9. I had tickets to sell for June 10, so I waited. Of course, the website was not back up and running, and it was then too late to sell the tickets through a scalper. StubHub is the only authorized reseller anyway, so I couldn't post them anywhere online and had to eat those as well, another $420 down the drain. I called and got an unintelligible gal who said there would be no refund. I found an email address for customer service but got no response. I just called again and was told "tough." The whole reason I bought season tickets was that I could re-sell them when I couldn't go, so now I have no confidence in StubHub whatsoever. Furthermore, to try to find a customer service phone number on the site to an obscene amount of time, and one cannot see individual seats on their ticket selection map, which is really lame too. So a big thumbs down from me, sorry to say, as their only function is to be able to buy and sell tickets and they couldn't do that, costing me at least $840.

StubHub No Refund for tickets already scanned

I purchased two tickets to see Six The Musical at the Orpheum Theatre in Omaha, NE for the evening of January 7th. When my daughter and I arrived with our mobile tickets, we were told that they had already been scanned and that someone was already in our seats. We were told to go to the ticket office. After standing in line for a few minutes, we got the same information. Obviously, the seller had sold the tickets to us via StubHub and at least one other buyer as well either through StubHub or another ticket reseller. We were devastated that we had driven all the way downtown, were all dressed up, paid for parking and would be unable to see the musical. I immediately contacted StubHub customer service and were told they take these complaints seriously and they would start a refund. Now I am getting emails from StubHub saying the seller had validated the tickets and they need proof from us that we were turned away. I called the theatre who could only provide me with the name of the person I spoke to that night at the ticket office. The theatre employee me told me that from their experience that I would continue to get the run around from StubHub, that they never call the theatre to check this out and their recommendation was to dispute the charge with my bank. Please do not offer for me to contact your customer service because I have already gone that route with no success.

Be really aware to buy any tickets on this site, they are scam! I both tickets from this site and they are reseller tickets! I both tickets what are worth of $30 and they are selling them for $65 and on top of it they were issued to some women not to us! When I had called the customer service they had told me they will not give me the money back because I had both what I had paid for! Bad CUSTOMER SERVICE had to file dispute with my credit card company! NEVER BUY TICKETS FROM here go to the original web pages of the event and you will get them better price and better siting... BE AWARE

Be very careful

Be very careful listing tickets. The site can be confusing, with several listings of the same event on the same date. If the buyer cancels, you will be charged an unreasonably large ($76) fee.

Selling Tickets

Selling tickets is a joke - I got an email stating my tickets sold...the process to even try to transfer them was an absolute $#*! show. I am working out of town trying to deal with the sale and there was virtually no help - when I checked that I had transferred them...it indicated a mobile transfer - but the buyer said they didnt get them. I kept getting emails indicating the buyer didnt get them...I finally called and spoke to customer service with an attachment of the picture of the transferred screen with indicated they were transferred...that phone call lasted almost 30minutes and was told they will escalate the issue. Meanwhile I get another email saying my sale was cancelled. Not only was this process a waste of time with no help - the buyer couldnt or didnt get what he needed because I had NO HELP. Something that seems so simple should not be this hard in anyway...especially with over 300$ in the game. I will not use stubhub again and I will not recommend it to a friend or family member. Where are my tickets that I paid for now? I dont see them in stubhub? My original ticket purchase is ******* the sale is *******

Stub Hub Scammed us

My friend purchased what she thought was two normal seat tickets for Taylor Swift in Tampa, Florida on April 15th. As soon as my friend purchased these two tickets, she received an email saying the tickets she bought were handicap accessible only. She then sat on the phone and spoke to 4 very nice Stub Hub representatives. They all tried to help but according to "policy" there was nothing that she could do other than sell her two handicap tickets. Once she got the confirmation email that they sold, she was quickly relieved that she sold her tickets and was going to get her $1000 transferred back into her bank account soon after the tickets were sold. Unfortunately this was not the case. After sitting on the phone yet again with another stub hub representative. The worker was very polite and understood our frustration regarding the miscommunicated actions, however there was nothing she could do. All that she can do to get her money back is sell the tickets and wait 5-8 business days after the event occurs. So now my friend, who not to mention, is a college student, who spent her own $1,000 on these tickets, has to wait 5-8 business after April 15th to receive her reimbursement. No where in there policy were any of these things presented to us. While we are stuck in this situation, don't use Stub Hub and make the same mistake. You can get false information about tickets and not be reimbursed until months after. Not worth your time or money. Ticketmaster is the way to go and purchase tickets safely.

Horrible experience!

It says no surprise fees... I was surprised when I received the ticket to say the face value of the ticket was £23.50 and id paid £45 x 4. Plus charges

I was an unfortunate recipient of a double sold ticket from a vendor to a Willie Nelson show! When I contacted Stubhub about it they swiftly ddi an investigation and refunded my money. I could complain that I was inconvenienced, but so was Stubbub. They are not at fault because some creep took my money... They actually got stiffed too. They gave my money back! THANKS FOR GREAT BUSINESS INTEGRITY!

I bought concert tickets on Stubhub. Now I discover that they are almost certainly fake.

I tried contacting Stubhub, but their normal customer service line doesn't offer away to speak to a human. So I eventually went through a company called GetHuman, who will use their own methods to get a real human on the phone at a particular company. After about a half an hour, GetHuman was finally able to get someone from Stubhub on the line.

Stubhub informed me that I can't know whether my tickets are real or not until the day of the event. At that point, they will give me a refund, so they say. They also suggested they will find me alternate tickets, but this even sold out in the first 60 seconds so there are no alternate tickets.

Because I chose Stubhub, that means I am almost certainly not going to this event. Stubhub exists for the scalpers and scammers who victimize people who go to events. That is literally what it is for.

I went on Stubhub's community discussion board and relayed this story. Their admins took it down.

Don't use Stubhub no matter what. It will not improve your chances of going to the event you want to attend.

I purchased parking passes from them on Mother's Day, and to this day I still do not have the passes. Customer service promised me a refund and yet I still do not have that either. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO JUST GIVE AWAY! Read the reviews on them, they are terrible!

HOLY CRAP! SELLERS BEWARE! STUBHUB IS A SCAM! I SOLD LEGITIMATE TICKETS TO THE EAGLES@ COWBOYS GAME ON 12/29/13. THE DAY OF THE GAME THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD BACK $510 FOR THE TICKETS B/C THE BUYER CLAIMED THEY WERE "REJECTED AT THE DOOR" AND THE "TICKETS WERE RESOLD". HOW THE HELL COULD THEY HAVE BEEN RESOLD? I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO SOLD THEM? SELLERS, STAY AWAY! THESE GUYS ARE A TOTAL SCAM, AND WHEN I DISPUTED THE CHARGE ON MY CREDIT CARD (WHICH I WILL WIN), CITI, MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY SAID THEY HAVE SEEN STUBHUB SCAM SELLERS MANY TIMES SO I AM NOT THE FIRST! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS SITE IS EVEN IN BUSINESS! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE SOLD TICKETS. I HAVE SOLD ON EBAY AND AMAZON FOR 11 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME I USE STUBHUB, AND I GET BURNED! EFF YOU GUYS! I CALLED CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND TURNED IN DOCUMENTATION OF THE TICKETS I SOLD AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RESPONSE! Worst experience. Never using again.

This app said tickets were available when it wasn't and then still charged me for the tickets when they said error. Called customer service they said they were having too many calls due to errors and if your event isn't tonight, they can't help you. Luckily when I called again someone was able to help me and refund me. Then I was able to buy a new set of tickets but then the seller contacted me saying they don't have the tickets available. When I contacted stubhub they said the best they could do was either refund me or credit my account. The concert is already in 3 days and the tickets have either fluctuated in price or the section I wanted is already sold out. If they would have helped me same day, I would have been able to get better tickets sooner. I'm waiting on customer service to send me a credit. If I can't find better tickets I'm calling customer service to just refund me and never using them again because the event was supposed to be for a surprise birthday gift and I spent so much money through their app error and them not making sure the seller has the tickets in hand. Really dissapointed and frustrated. Will update about the process.

Missed musical!

The website didn't work. The downloaded app did not work the phone number dropped my call 4 times. Result I was not able to buy ticket to musical. Can not recommend ever!

Sold a ticket through StubHub. My original listing was for a Friday Only ticket for a festival that went on for 3 days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I sold a FRIDAY ONLY ticket (I have a confirmation email from them, stating it was a FRIDAY ONLY ticket). They changed my listing to a 3 Day pass WITHOUT telling me. My client was not happy (obviously) and neither was I. They later admitted it was a mistake on their end, but I DID NOT get paid nor received my Ticket back. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have never been treated so horribly after being ROBBED by a company. This site should not be used by ANYONE. I sold tickets on this site, thinking that I may be paid for the tickets I sent to the buyers. However, stub hub not only took the money that the buyers spent and gave it to another seller, they sent the buyers two more tickets and charged me a service fee. Now I am out of two tickets and I was also charged another fee. Now I have no tickets and no money. THANKS FOR NOTHING STUBHUB.

Sold some tickets through StubHub for the CitiOpen in Washington, by the day of the event, due to a technicality, the purchaser was able to cancel tickets and purchase them at a much lower cost, StubHub refunded the Purchaser the full amount, which I had not received yet, and then turned around and charged me the full amount. So, StubHub not only made away with their fees, but got to keep the proceeds from the tickets I intended to sell.
