Getting alot of calls from numbers I dont know wanted to check how accurate. Used a number I know and all personal info on. OMG nothing but phone number was right. Not city, Not sex, Not income, and when complained they said well give us email or their street address and we will look up more. UMMM if I had that info wouldnt need their terrible inaccurate service. I wasted money on this and them baited me thinking the PDF file I paid more for would have more info was all bland by info of phone #, wrong city (without address) and that was it. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THIS BS ACCOUNT.
I should have checked Spokeo out prior to wasting what I thought was a $1.00 until I was billed automatically billed $25 for a the next month. I contacted Spokeo the day the charge posted and tried to get my money back. They would not cancel as of that day. They billed me to the end of the month and refunded $9.95.

I heard about this site through Tumblr and wanted to run a background check on myself (wanted to make sure my address wasn't accurate) so I paid like 90 cents to run it and I thought I'd canceled everything but I just got a $30 charge. I spotted a weird charge for $24.95 in my statements. Looking further into it I found a previous charge for $0.95. I'd never heard of this site before but when looking further into it, I found that I was one out a million to have something similar happen. I'd never been on the site and had recently ordered a new debit card ate the time of the $0.95 purchase. The creepy part is the fact that I was charged as soon as I activated my card. This site was not my first nor was a purchase in the first place. I had to order a new card but have read reviews of them charging even when changing debit cards. Check your statements people. Spokeo is a bunch of thieves.

I used this company once to look for an email address for a former teacher of mine. I paid 0.95 or something like that and the info they provided was useless. I did not know I was then enrolled at $24.95 ongoing membership which was removed from my bank account. I have just cancelled, but it remains to be seen if the $24.95 charge is refunded. I do not recommend this company.

I thought I paid $. 95 for one search of a name. I declined membership etc. I received notification on my phone that I would be billed $. 95... I forgot about it. This month, checking over my credit card account, I discovered charges each month for $24.95 going back 6 months! I called to complain... the receptionist said she would cancel my subscription but no refund possible. I demanded to talk to a supervisor and I would sue them for fraud. She had me hold, came back two min later and said they would refund me $75. Of the $150. They scammed... I took it, but they must be making millions off this fraud!

The information i received on spokeo on myself and 2 other people i know was 85% false. If you need accurate info i would not recommend this site. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because the customer service rep, michellle that helped me cancel was extremely helpful and responded very quickly. She is definitely an asset to this company.
Save your money you can get better info on your own for free. This site gave outdated and completely false info. This is basically what i wrote on the survey the sent me. After filling it out they thanked me for my POSITIVE feedback and asked me to review them on this site. So obviously they cant decipher the info they receive from any source!

I graduated from TCU in 1967 and lost track of my roommate... but knew he was from Houston Area... nothing worked so I tried this service just for kicks... they found his name in Florida, his last street address there and eventually found his real estate broker who knew him well and gave me his phone number. I had used this site once before (2014) and had no qualms over using Spokeo again.
The family needed information on an aunt that sort of 'disappeared' sometime in the 1970s. Within minutes, I had the needed info.
Not sure why the negative reviews are so angry... the site does exactly what it states it will accomplish.
I had the one-week free trial after buying one search. At the end of the week, I called Customer Service and spoke to Alex. An absolute pleasure to speak to her! Professional, articulate, and friendly. The cancellation was smooth and quick.

Be careful with this product, be careful with the offers they have, once you use the service even one time they will keep you charging monthly. They charged me $24.99 monthly after I accept an offer they have in their website to use them once for. 94 cents. After that they subscribe and charged me for no reason, So once they have your card number they will keep charging you.
I talked to them on their 1888 number they refused to refund my money.

They are good about sending a letter about we are sorry about not meeting your expectations. Our terms of use states we can do this blah blah blah. After I cancelled this subscription and got this in writing from David, I got a new debit card from my bank. Spokeo found the NEW CARD and charged it. I took the problem to my bank and got a credit. Be very careful of these people, watch your bank statements.
