I hate it when a business lies to me. I tried to reset turn a receiver last year, and they told me that I couldn't. You have to keep that receiver for television service. This year after the service technician came, he told me you didn't need the receiver. So I went back down to Spectrum and found out. I could turn it in by taking it to UPS. I took it to UPS, got my receipt proving that it had been returned and continued to be charged for it. I got up with Spectrum through their chat And didn't get it resolved. I called the customer resolution center and didn't get it resolved. So I went ahead and canceled TV service and was told I had to get a new modem and that they would send me one. I said I didn't want any equipment That you would be charging me for. And the agent said oh we have to send that to you. It's free. I called another line for Spectrum to inquire about my refund for their receiver. At the end of that call, I asked what equipment am I being charged for? The agent said oh it's five dollars a month for the router. Once again, I've been lied to. I'm returning the router through UPS. Let's see how long it takes to get this one off my bill. Spectrum would like your business but I'm sorry it's hard to deal with a business that continually lies to you. Buyer beware.

Unreliable Service

Customer service offered 2$ off my 200$ bill! Worst customer service I've ever experienced! Paid my bill on time for years! Unable to get service for shows that we pay for for days! Will never use them again rip off is what spectrum is! I advise never use them every since they've switched from TWC to spectrum they are nothing but a rip off! Want their payment but offer nothing for the consumer!... They lie over and over even their recording states tat their demand is down but they only give the consumer a 2$ discount
Why do they treat THEIR CONSUMERS THIS WAY? There CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE CAN NOT ANSWER THIS QUESTION WHY?

Terrible wifi

Spectrum is terrible, literally crashes at least 3-5 times a week n takes forever to load up again. Doesn't reach throughout the whole house either as they said it would.

Former Billing Agent

As billing representative i saw this company allowing the sales department when subscribing customers for the first time being lied to, cheated just to make the sale then when the bill came in the mail to the customer the charges were much higher and not what was agreed upon, careful and beware you will get ripped off and youre credit ruined from this company and their in complete violation of the Deceptive Trade Practice Act this government will eventually catch up. Since i was hired four additional classes were hired and they are nearly gone from the stress and pressure form customers and metrics and it doesnt matter how well you preform supervisors always want more and better which would like the billing agents to walk on water. WARNING! DONT BE A CUSTOMER OR AN EMPLOYEE IF DONT BELIEVE IT TRY IT.

Where do I start OMG from the beginning I have had service with spectrum for 3months and have had techs lol ya right out to my home 4 times and have had to call 38 times you pay for 100 Mbps and on a good day get 30 but only if you're standing 6" in front of the router I have heard so many different lies from representatives about what the problem is and they are all different and if I hear one more time "I understand" and I know it can be frustrating" I'm gonna lose my sh@t and now I call yet again because now the phone isn't working and the recording says "we are experiencing higher than expected call volume and cannot take anymore calls at this time" are you fuc@#ng kidding me right now!

THEY JUST DONT CARE

My phone was telling customers my number had been disconnected. I don't know how long it was doing that. Their tech support had also removed my hunt group capability. They have record of when it all went down & the numbers that were rejected but they will not share with me. When I reported the problem all the phones went down. Their repair technician was scheduled to come do repairs 36 hours after the phones went down. They would not send any techs any sooner. He was scheduled between 4:00 & 5:00 pm on a friday afternoon. He did not come. * pm they called to reschedule. He eventually turned up at 11:45 on Monday morning. My business phones were actually down for over 80 hours. Who knows how long they were not working properly. 20 hours after they were back up they went down again. It had rained & the phones went down. Do you know if you call their corporate owners, Charter, they have no ability to see your account because after a year they have not merged charter computers to Spectrum computer. Spectrum has NO executive escalations. THEY REALLY JUST DO NOT CARE. I have no alternative but to sue. I have no idea how much revenue I have lost due to their incompetence. I am going to have to ask the judge to require Spectrum to give me the information I need.

We have been with Spectrum since the beginning and the companies that precede them. Over time after having too many outages to count and price increases about every 3-4 months we realized what a terrible company they are. They prey on people who are dependent on internet and landline services and enjoy watching TV. When they think there is no service in an area they raise their prices. Their customer service is horrible.
Just this month we received a letter from Spectrum thanking us for being a customer and to advise that some promotion we had been receiving was ending. And that as of May 30th our rate was increasing $30/month. When I called they stated said that was the new rate. Period. While we can afford this increase, $200/ month for one TV, Internet and landline device seems like a rip-off. This time we decided it was time to stop giving in to these opportunistic crooks. We have identified an alternative and will get rid of Spectrum. Finally, on two occasions their technicians told us how poorly they have been treated since Spectrum took over from Bright House. One has since left. One sorry place to work as well. Do your homework. We will be saving about $98/month for at least 12 months; that is $1176 in the next year.

Been with Spectrum for years... 10+, even when it was adelphia, to road runner and now spectrum. Ended up getting T-Mobile 5G internet and its $30 cheaper than spectrum. I was paying $64.95/mo for 150MBPS internet, then it became 69.95, and then 74.95 and as of December 2022, went to 79.99. I also did a speed test and I was only getting 28mbps down and 11 up. Fed up I got TMobile. 154 down, 22 up. When I cancelled spectrum after testing out tmobile for a week... they did everything they could to get me to stay... even 39.99/mo for 300MBPS... then when I said no. She was tossing in free phone for a year. Like no. WHERE WAS THAT DEAL WHEN I WAS A CUSTOMER? 39.99/mo for "double" the speed...? Paying $80/mo for horrendous service. Not to mention. The outages are common... usually 1-2x a mo we loose service for a few hours for whatever reason... Its just horrible. There are other options out there... ditch cable...

Spectrum or Bust!

Ok, figure this one out. I have been with Time Warner for many ears since Spectrum took over. I got sucked into a Bundle Plan which was supposed to be the best! I noticed my channels started to have a "Golden" next to the channel. My channels started to come with an additional price. I got tired of the disappearing channel so I canceled my TV/Cable services. I only wanted Internet. If you are just looking for internet, Spectrum has 3 tiers available. $49.99, $69.99 and $89.99 (NO BUNDLING) Just my internet went to $129.99. When I called to cancel the Cable/TV, the person told me to turn everything in before the 13th of the month. I turned everything in on the 5th of the month. Now I have been charged for the Cable/TV for the month despite turning in the equipment that was given to me. There is NO Pro-Rate, there is no REFUND and after being a Time Warner/Spectrum customer for over 30+ years, I get a $40.00 increase a month just for Internet services. The Cable company s loosing money at a fast rate because of the high prices and little options. Streaming is where many people are switching to because of more options, better movies and cheaper prices. I am waiting for Google Optic to hit my neighborhood and it is coming fast. I was on hold for 22+ minutes waiting to speak to a Supervisor about this issue but soon I was dropped from the call! Go Figure! Buyer-be-ware! I forgot to mention, I am still paying for Cable/TV service even though I turned my equipment in almost a month ago!

Disney deal

Spectrum was always a very good company for cable & Internet but since they took away my ability to watch Monday night football on ESPN because they don't want to raise the price $10.00 a month for ESPN aka Disney so in order for me to watch Monday night football on ESPN I had to purchase YouTube TV to get ESPN at a price of $72.00 a month I would rather pay the extra $10.00 a month to keep ESPN on spectrum then pay for YouTube TV for ESPN why spectrum has gone cheap is beyond me GET THE DISNEY DEAL DONE so I can cancel my YouTube TV subscription not that the subscription is bad but I wouldn't need it if spectrum can get ESPN back on my plan!

THIS IS THE WORST CABLE, I HATE SPECTRUM, A BIG RIP OFF, THEY KEEPING RAISING MY CABLE AND GIVING ME LESS CHANNEL, I WISH I HAD ANOTHER CABLE COMPANY TO GO TO. FIOS IS NOT IN MY AREA. TIME WARNER WAS MUCH BETTER. THIS PIECE OF $#*! CABLE COMPANY CALLED SPECTRUM IS THE WORST, I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I HATE THIS RIPOFF CABLE COMPANY. Poor service

Within 5 years (from 2016 to 2021) the price has gone up from $60 to $75 (a 4.5% increase, which is well above the inflation rate), while the Internet speed dropped. At times, there was no Internet connection. The cancellation of their service is a nightmare. They need you to call them, then you will be put on hold for an hour. Then they will try to upsell their service, simply put - "pay more if you need a better Internet connection." Then they will almost immediately charge you for unreturned equipment. You will spend hours proving that you have returned it. There is only one phone number on their website www.spectrum.net/contact-us/, which you do not want to call again anyway. The other option is to "chat." When you do so, guess what? You will spend another hour waiting. Another hour reading their responses, and only at the end, will they tell you that you need to open a dispute with their customer care team and call some other number. You get the picture. Absolutely stay away from Spectrum.
