After reaching out after receiving a damaged product, I was met with a response that dented frames meet their 'QC standards'. Their products are NOT worth the price let alone inability to work with the customer to remediate the issue.
I do have to start by saying my pictures did turn out wonderful… But the staining of the wood is not the same.
This is there response:
Thanks for getting this sent over! I have reviewed your photos and each order and they are both stained frames! Each frame is made from a different tree, so the stain will absorb more in some wood pieces better than others. This could be due to the treatment the tree (wood) received. We do outline this inside our product details when stating "Handcrafted with natural wood making each frame its masterpiece with unique color tones and variations." Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that all frames would be exact matches due to these environmental factors and the nature of natural wood.
I can assure you that each frame does go through a rigorous quality inspection before shipping out and this frame did meet our internal quality control standards. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
I wasn't asking for a whole new picture just a new frame with the same stain… But nope. So just an FYI if you want your frames to match they won't.
I ordered 9 16x16 prints and 3 44x22 prints from our family photos. They turned out amazing. I did not have to work with customer service so i cannot attest to that. The photos i had printed were professionally done so the quality was the same as what i sent in, but my fanily is in love with the photos. They are decently expensive, but i was able to use promotional offers so my 12 prints were about 450 with shipping
We ordered 3 large framed prints and a smaller framed print. When we received our order it was very apparent that each print was blurry and did not represent the original quality of the photo. After reaching out to customer service they lied to cover themselves and said the poor quality was the same as the original we had sent in. We argued about the quality and were told we would not be getting a refund because it was up to their standards and told us we should just view the pictures from a further distance to make them look better. Absolutely ridiculous. If I'm paying these prices I'd expect clear photos that look good both up close and far away. The frames are terrible too and don't even close together in the corners. The wood is cheap and easily breakable. This company is not worth a single penny
I could not be happier that I decided to give this small business a chance! I ordered 6 wrapped photo canvases; 2- 44X22,2- 25X17, and 2- 16X16. At a price that's literally a fraction of the cost of all other competitors, I was certainly afraid of "getting what I paid for," as many of the online reviews suggested would be the case. I am so pleased with this company. I received many email updates on the status of my order and its shipping, which was super helpful because I was so anxious to see our family photos haha. My order came in a timely manner and was packaged very well to protect the canvases. The quality of the photo was not compromised in any way when greatly inflating the image. I would have given Small Woods a 5-star review hands-down, but there were a few small imperfections some might want to consider. Both of my 16X16 prints actually measured out to be 17.25 inches. I did not mind the photos being a bit larger than I had anticipated, but if I needed them to be an exact fit I would have been a little disappointed. One of my 44X22 canvases was a little warped as well. It appears not to be 100% evenly stretched across the frame. Especially when placed on the wall next to other photos, it was pretty apparent that the space between the two photos near the top of the canvas was significantly larger than the space towards the bottom of the canvas. Overall I'm really happy with my purchases and have already recommended them to many others!
Picture quality is garbage, followed by excuse after excuse as to why they think this is ok. Management is full of excuses as well, with no effort to make a customer happy. The colors won't even be close, super washed out look...and then zero support from the supervisors to try to make a customer happy and retain my business. THIS COMOANY IS TRASH. ARIEL IS A WORTHLESS MANAGER, AND WILL OFFER ZERO RESOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEMS. BUYER BEWARE OF THE "INTERNAL POLICY" MENTIONING THAT THE COLORS AND ARTWORK WONT LOOK LIKE THE ARTWORK YOU SENT IN. You guys absolutely suck at life, print work, and making people happy!
I've bought a total of 12 framed pictures from Smallwoods and I've never been let down. My latest order was for my baby's room. I ordered three
44"x22" pictures and they're gorgeous! I also love their fast shipping! I ordered them on Tuesday night and they were delivered on Friday morning!
People always comment on how beautiful my pictures are. Smallwoods kind of made my house a home… I'm going to be a customer for life.
Inconsistent color in prints and some of the frames have warped. Their mobile website is glitchy as well as their online customer service option.
I ordered 4 canvases. 2 were great. 2 were terribly pixelated. I requested reprints and was told it was the quality of the pictures sent, though the other two were from the same photographer, same subjects, sane time, same session. I then asked for a refund and was told it would be sent in 2-3 days. That was May 22. It's July 1. Several sent emails later I've had zero response. Please avoid this company. Waste of good money.
Customer service is not for everyone or will ever be perfect-But the lack of willingness to accommodate my mother n law's unsatisfactory experience with this company is baffling-We were advised that the errors on the photos were our issue from the upload-However I provided an order # which displayed the individuals in the photos with no markings on their faces-We were offered 50% off for us to have them replaced-But the sad part is that if the photos were replaced the company would have gained much more business from myself and family-All in all a disappointing experience
I received frames I did not order that were defective. The color quality was AWFUL. They said they print what you send, so unlike QUALITY companies they do not tell you the photos will print and look awful. Frame sedges do not meet. Hard to tell this is photos the required me to send. Offered to destroy and send them the pics. After all this back and forth, no answer. Then called and a rude girl told me they were not going to refund. I said wouldn't they at least try to keep my business and give me a credit to try again. Nope. 200.00 in the trash. You cannot see that the edges are not even flush. They say that passes their quality control. AWFUL. Tell everyone to stay away, they are a terrible company.
I've been dreaming of a Smallwood canvas for a while now. Finally bought three frames for Mother's Day gifts. I ordered black frames, in between each side where the frame was glued it a bright wooden color showing. It looks horrible. The frames and prints look extremely cheap, like a fivebelow/dollar tree frame. I reached out and they say this white wood showing in every single corner is "up to their standards" they will not refund me or allow me to return. They look so bad I am embarrassed to gift them as Mother's Day gifts. Buyer beware. Don't shop Smallwoods, it is not all it's cracked up to be.
Unfortunately, my framed pics all came in blurry. These were all professionally done photos, so no, there were no issues with the quality or pixels on them. The black frames were also unfinished looking, meaning that the seams were a different color than the black frame. It just looked very cheap. When I reached out to the company, they told me that they had a screen-shot of the pop-up I received before ordering. I'm not sure how that would be possible, but there was one pop-up message on one out of the four pictures I uploaded and I changed that picture immediately. They just basically said, sorry but it was a custom order so we can't do anything for you. Unfortunate, since I was so looking forward to ordering from them and building a full gallery wall eventually (a little at a time) and the fact that they didn't want to even make things right was disappointing. I would recommend using someone more professional like Printique, etc. Hopefully others' orders had better luck.
I am very shocked and disappointed in this company. At Christmastime I ordered around $700 worth of products from different vacations and they look wonderful in my home. I recently wanted to order more products and had a couple of questions for them about another large order I wanted to make. The ability to contact anyone from this company is ridiculous! I made a service ticket and received an email, but when I tried to call them, their recording stated I called "outside of business hours" for Monday. I called at 4:45pm CST and they close at 9:30pm CST. I sent a text as the website stated, and once again, got an immediate auto response text about being outside the business hours. I do not have time for all this difficulty, therefore I will be looking at other businesses for my printing needs.
My order was very beautiful. I was so happy to see the quality was prime. The shipping was so fast it came so quickly and I had no problems when I received them. I am so happy with my order and others should give this company a try.
I ordered 6 prints. They ended up coming in 4 different shipments, and the final one was sent only after I emailed them that one was missing. Three of the prints were to be a gift, and because of all the emails back and forth to get the order right, they were delayed and didn't make it in time for the party. I totally felt like I was dealing with a company that had never done a single order before. This was not a complex order. They forgot one print, took way longer than promised and when they finally arrived were not impressive. The prints looked fine, but the frames on 2 of the 6 were put together so poorly I nearly sent them back. With all the hassle of this order, I decided to keep them and touch them up the best I could. I will never order again from this company.
I ordered the white frames. Also a couple of black frames. Images were great. But the frames had gaps, were not aligned and not wrapped correctly. Which showed the natural wood color and when displayed they look cheap and take away from the art. The company does not give you a heads up that this could happen,
They tell you once you receive the subpar product. Currently Customer service will only replace 4 of the 11 frames purchased. They also ask you to send full front photo which doesn't necessarily highlight the poor workmanship. Really disappointed with their standards of product and levels of quality control. At this time, I can not recommend them. UPDATE: no customer service resolution and recently blocked from commenting on their FB for sharing photos of my frames and experience. Received the 4 and they have same gaps and alignment issues. Purchased 11 frames - $707.
I have ordered twice from Smallwood and have referred others however I will never order again after my recent experience. The first time I ordered, I received a damage frame but they offered a discount and replacement. More recently, I placed an order for Christmas presents. Three of the prints were incorrect (landscape versus portrait and vice versa). The company offered to replace them and I requested shipment directly to the recipients addresses since they would be late for Christmas. Well, two of the prints made it to their destination and they are incorrect AGAIN. The third is lost in shipping because Smallwoods entered the address I provided incorrectly onto their shipping label. I can bet the third is also printed incorrectly. I now have an email thread of 16+ emails explaining my issues and the company asking for proof and not understanding why the address is incorrect (they've transcribed the street number incorrectly and it is very obvious). They have offered to replace them a third time. No discount offered. I have no trust that the third time will be correct. I will not order from this company again. Christmas presents are no longer Christmas presents and who knows if the third prints will ever arrive. I am extremely disappointed with this company.
In 2020, I ordered 3 framed pictures of my older 3 children. I specifically got all the frames in their white/off-white color choice so that they'd match when I hung them together on a wall. In 2021, I ordered a 4th picture and frame to match the previous 3. When it arrived, the white color of the frame was totally different than the first 3. I contacted customer service (Patricia) and they said the company had recently changed their frames to be more "vibrant" or something, but there was zero mention of the change on the website or page to make a frame color selection. Because it doesn't match the others, it doesn't look right hanging on the wall with them. Smallwoods refused to take it back as a return or give me a refund. Before this, I had ordered about 4 large framed pictures from them and I love them. But after this experience, I will go out of my way to NOT order from Smallwoods ever again. You can see the color difference in the photo.
I am so in love with the framed canvas prints i recieved from small woods! I can't lie I was a little nervous after placing my order and then reading reviews.
They are a beautiful quality! I did call after placing my order to have them check my photos to make sure they were high enough quality to look good printed large. The girl I spoke to was very helpful and checked each picture to make sure they would all print well. You can always email them your pictures before ordering to make sure they will be as beautiful as you'd hoped. I dont think every person realizes you cant just take any photo and stretch it without it becoming blurry. Make sure you have professional quality photos to start and you will not be disappointed! I felt it was important to do this review to hopefully help the next customer and this awesome US company!

Answer: I got my order and it looks AMAZING! The canvas was beautiful
Answer: They are terrible they don't care to help would rather tell you it's your fault. Don't even try to help you re order or fix anything could careless they will make more money just telling you no and hoping others order at their high prices and I would have cont. To order as I was very happy but now paying$190 for something that don't even care is wrong ya right. Just don't order from them in beginning and you will be fine! Heck Walmart has better customer service! Good luck!
