I have bought several things and was happy with some, unhappy with others, and made several returns. Refunds are slow and they make a lot of mistakes so you really have to scrutinize your purchases and refunds. I found incorrect sales tax, like taxing on shipping on some but not others. Refund were wrong, etc. The shipping is so slow. Sometimes when you pay for express shipping you might as well flush your money down the toilet. Also, you need to be careful when they have "site wide" sales. Like today (3/14/22), it's 50% off almost everything. I got excited when I got the email but then I was like, wait a minute! The supposed "original" prices are WAY INFLATED! A dress I bought 2 days ago for $47.99 is now $79.99! Half off is $40, so really not much of a sale at all! I was so disappointed. A coat I've had my eye on for a while, priced around $75, suddenly was $149! Double the price less 50%? Hah! No discount at all. What a gyp. Let the buyer beware. I really can't recommend them.
When my favorite clothes store went out of business about 10 years ago, I started purchasing clothes from Roaman's. It seemed to be the only place where I could find clothing that fit me well & looked good on me. However, the quality of their clothing has changed (not for the better.) I wash all of my clothes in cold water & dry them on low, but my shirts always shrink.
Their prices have become ridiculous. I've returned more items in the past year that I care to mention due to the size being off. Sometimes my regular size fits well... Other times I have to ship the item back & exchange it for the next size up.
My most recent order was for a pair of boots that did not fit properly. I called customer service & wanted to return them for a refund. I was told that if I chose to have the refund credited to my card that there would be a $10.99 service fee, So between that & the $11.99 fee that I paid to have them shipped, I would basically only be getting $24.00 back on my Roaman's card after spending $48.00. The alternative was to receive a gift card as a refund... No fees involved... Ridiculous!
Their pricing is also bogus... An item can be $10 one day & $50 the next. I never buy anything from them unless it's on sale & I have a coupon or it's on clearance.
And... A lot of times I'll have things in my cart & cancel out the order, because their shipping fees are insane.
I meant to give them 1 star. Somehow 2 is up there. If I could have given them 0, I would have.
I'm done... Cutting up my Roaman's card & calling it a day.

I thought this companies' clothing was cute at first then I get my delivery and I was so disappointed. Nothing you get looks like what is advertised online. The material is usually always cotton and some of the items advertised look more silky or polyester. My size is usually a 14/16 but some items came in and were long and huge on me. My bra was squeaking all day and it's under wire free? How is it making noises? It was so itchy and uncomfortable and my mom's slippers I bought for her came out of the package with a hole in them? I can't wait to pay off my card and close them down. Just go to lane Bryant or JC Penney from now on.
I ordered my mom and coat with a matching hat from thier catalog that my mom said she HAD to have because it was so pretty. So I purchased this for her for Christmas. The total came to $64 dollars, but I used coupon codes I found on line and got express shipping and discount. Paid 47 in all for these items which were great! My order was shipped and delivered to me in 3 days! Estimated delivery date was Dec 10, and I got it Dec 8th. Items were in great condition, looked exactly like in the catalog. My mom is going to be happy. Will purchase from them again!
After I filed complaints against Roamans, I finally heard from them and they sent me the two items missing from my order at no charge. It's a shame they wouldn't do that initially, like they should have.
Roamans sales are a scam. They had a sale recently, 3 items for $30. I didn't need clothing, but I couldn't resist that great of a deal. I ordered 3 of the items on the sale page. Roamans only ordered one item and charged me full price for it. As soon as I got a notification that my order had shipped, I realized their mistake and politely asked them to send me all 3 items that I had ordered at the sale price. They refused and just apologized for the problem I encountered. I told them I was extremely disappointed in their poor customer service and refusal to honor their advertised sale. They said they would send my feedback to the appropriate department. I believe that department is called FILE 13, aka the trash folder. As soon as the shirt arrives, I will be sending it back to them immediately for a refund. I want to warn all of their customers that you cannot trust Roamans to honor sale prices. THEY ARE SCAMMERS! BEWARE!
I'm so mad right now. They pulled the old credit card and also charged my credit card. Do u think they could get this through their heads that I'll only pay once for my products. I have called every day and not one person has helped me. I told them on my last call that I'm sending it all back and will never order again.
I purchased a dress from Roamans website and paid a ridiculous $30 (had no choice as it's a gift and I'm traveling soon) expedited fee so I can receive the dress in two days. Every time I check the order status it says "not shipped". Customer service is condescending and straight out lie to their customers. I paid extra for shipping and want my item. I have previously purchased many items from Roaman's. This time around I ordered a bra, which ended up being too small. I sent it back within the 60-day return window, however it got sent back to me. Initially talked to one customer service rep who said no problem, they would send me a new return label via email, Didn't receive the email so called back a day or two later. This time I get a song and dance about leaving two weeks for them to receive the item back and process in. Nothing on my invoice mentioned anything about leaving a two week period from them to process. Just states the item needs to be returned within 60 days. Spoke to a supervisor who was incredibly rude and simply stated "no exceptions" and "we can't print every single thing about returns on the invoice.
I will never spend another dollar with them.
I just placed an order on line, put in the 30% discount code. Get the bill it's not there. Call customer service she said are you sure you put it in, yes I did!. We'll I sorry the order has been placed there's nothing I can do now you should have called last night. Just say Roaman's return and exchange ratings is. I won't buy from them again. I hope the clothes are worth what I paid for them.
I returned items with return label provided immediately upon receiving them. I continue to be charged because I cannot supply the tracking number. All I asked for was to delay the $40 late fee until my return reaches them. They refused and sent me from one rep to another without any resolution.
Shipping is horrendous. I have consistently had purchased shipped express, paying up to $30 and not once had my package arrived in the accurate time frame. I don't even think they ship it express. Trying to get help on customer service is a joke. They are the absolute worst customer service Dept I've ever experienced.
Horrible service. Romans doesn't conduct its business with its tenants best interest in mind. It is all about money. After renting a property with them I feel that I was only being used. They have failed me several times in particular by sending the wrong documents and trying to charge me more than agreed. I have been renting for a few years now and Romans is by far the worst agency I have dealt with.
I will not be ordering from this company again. There is nowhere on their site that indicates that shipping fees are not refundable. This is totally deceptive. Anyone reading their refund/exchange policy would expect to receive a refund for the merchandise AND the shipping charge. They've lost a very good customer.
I was wanting to order a dress from Roamans which was about $80 but on sale for 50% off. When I went to checkout, the international fee for shipping was just over $58.00! I have ordered many items from the States before and never paid such a high shipping fee... and never well. Needless to say, I did not buy. Very disappointing. I tried to contact them through their site but was unable to because I don't have a zip code! I was really looking forward to ordering things from this site but cannot/will not pay these shipping prices.
Ordered a 10 pack of high cotton briefs in October, they did not arrive with the shipment. Called was told they were on back order until 11. 28. 18. Called today and was told the order was cancelled. Item is still back ordered till 12. 28. 18 now. They can reinstate the order at their 'best price' which is more than the original price. They have the worst customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
They do not honor their return policy. I bought a cocktail dress on April 6 and requested return label on May 28 which I didn't receive until June 8 which they are now telling is past the 60 day policy. I returned the dress and called to check on status of return and now they are telling me that it was too late to return. So now I don't have a refund or dress. Their customer service dept. is horrible.
I have repeatedly asked that Roamans address the problem that the dye they use in their denim jeans is so strong and nasty. If they cannot change the dye to one that does not smell, perhaps they can do a little research for us to tell us how to get the smell out without having to launder the items not one or two times, but several, before we can go out in public and be seen before we are smelled. I hang mine in the garage until the smell fades to avoid stinking up the closet. It's a shame I have to wear my brand new jeans to do yard work before I can pair them with my cute new tops and wear them to work or with friends. Shame on you, Roamans for not caring more about your customers. I hope others will speak up.
They charge more after you place your order. Refunds aren't processed, calls are placed on hold for over 45 mins then, their fit specialist says call back. Never credited my charge card for returned clothing.
It is impossible for me to process a return as I am never sent the QR code and when I call them up, I am getting the most ridiculous answers. Clearly they just want me off the phone. Everything I ordered was either late, wrong or poor quality, so now I am sitting on hundreds of dollars of clothing I'll just have to donate. Throw your catalogs away & disengage from all email contact!
Like many other reviewers, I had issues with a return. I ordered a "genuine" leather jacket that was almost $200. That's not a lot to pay for a good quality real leather jacket but that is not what I received. I got something cheap looking, way too small (despite the fact I ordered my normal size) and it smelled to high heavens like gasoline! It couldn't be any more obvious that this coat is not leather. Despite these facts, I am only going to receive $159 back on my return. So I waited over two weeks to receive the coat, tried it on and sent it back and it cost me almost $40. I guess if you like shoddy clothing items that you pay twice as much for then Roamans is the place for you! However, if you're a normal person who wants to get what they pay for... I would suggest shopping at Torrid. A great plus size company with quality items that actually fit someone plus size.
Answer: I think they don't want very many people getting the sales price, then when you really still want that item you charge or pay at full price. I'm dealing with that same problem right now.
Answer: Good question! I have never heard of such a thing. My suggestion would be to call customer service from your card account and ask if this is common practice and request an explanation.
