I ordered a shirt based on the pretty color blue it was in the picture. What I received is not even close. This is not the first time I've been deceived by a picture. When I contact them, I'm just treated rudely. See my attached picture for the difference in color.
I was putting in my first order and saw a coupon on my catalog that said free shipping plus free returns. I asked her if she would allow me to use that coupon even though I was $1.01 short. She said no and then tried to sell me two or three other shirts which I did not want. I asked her if she had a different coupon because I know that places like Avenue, Catherines, Lane Bryant (quality stores) unlike Romans always have a coupon that you can use whether online or in the store. That is what "customer service" is and it keeps customers coming back. After I told the customer service rep "this is probably why I've never ordered from this place before". A. Reallyll she could say was okay well your order should be there by April 6th! Really? Do you know what customer service is? Apparently not! First and last order from me Roaman's!
I ordered three items in mid April this year. I did not receive them until the end of June. I returned two of the three items because the quality was so bad. But just today, September 9, I received the two items back stating that it was beyond their 60 day return window. I didn't receive the product until beyond 60 days in the first place. I called customer service and got someone in a foreign country who could just say I'm sorry and I will note your account
The company used to be decent. This year just horrible returned 3 pack of bra's that were a BOGO and kept 1 bra. Charged a fee 10.99. Original order was 161 plus change. Bra I kept was 49.99 was refunded 72.00. For a 50 dollar bra I owe them 90 bucks. Rip off in shipping fees and return fees. I will never do business with them anymore

When I was trying to ask a question about the return, she cut me off very rudely.

I was really happy to find some shoes that I thought would get me through the winter. I have short fat feet. An 8.5 slips off my heel and a W is too narrow. I ordered several pairs of shoes in 8WW and they are more narrow than the W that I've tried in any store. Shoes are heavy! Now I need to return them and pay for the shipping myself; AND, they do not include their shipping fees in the refund. Very disappointed and will never order from them again! Basically spending more than $25, for NOTHING!
Ordered a dress thinking it would be delivered in four weeks time as I needed it in four weeks. Well it's not going to arrive in time forcing me to buy something in the store that I am totally happy with. I called customer service and they did not offer a credit or discount on future purchases...
The merchandise is terrible quality.
I sent a check in plenty of time and was charged a late fee.
I have many on line log ins, but can't get in to Romans to pay my bill.
I don't want anything more to do with this company or it's sister companies.
I have never had these problems with LLBean or Woolrich.
I ordered some tops from this company back in July. When they arrived, I returned them right away as they were HUGE and hideous. Very cheaply made. Today I received a package from them which contained the tops I returned months ago. They now said they will not give me credit because I returned the items too late. I wish I would have read the reviews on this company before I ordered. Now I know I am not the only one who was ripped off!
I have been a loyal customer for over fifteen years. They took my return, sent a letter saying they would credit my card back but did not. When I called they said it would be a credit instead and I could use any time. When I went to use it, they said it was gone. They don't keep records anymore and there was no way to find it. I know that is not true because people audit businesses all the time to make sure their books are right. I wrote the company asking for my $175 dollars. Not even the courtesy of a reply. Don't count on them to honor their word.
When you order they say delivery is within 7-12 business days. My package has been sitting in a Pitney Bowes warehouse now for over a week with no new tracking information. Customer service from Roaman's states I can't declare it lost until after February ‘30th'! Last time I looked at a calendar there are only 28 days in February. Roaman's put the blame on the postal service but they have never received package from Pitney Bowes. I've filed complaints against Roaman's and Pitney Bowes with the BBB. My suggestion, ore from somewhere else.
I ordered some intimate apparel... last month and have never received it. It was shipped by Smart Post another rip off by Fed Ex. Said it was delivered and with a valid signature. But I have yet to see my order or Fed Ex. I called Roamans and of course they were very sorry, ok, end of report. I spoke with Smart Post of Fed Ex who did not really care as best as I could understand from a person speaking very fast in another language. Up to now Roamans I thought was a good company. But don't waste your money as they no longer care that your order was never delivered. In fact it felt as if it was a great hardship for the company and that I should be grateful they would return the money even though I never received what I paid for.
I called to place my order as I had a question re the discount. Was on the phone for 48 minutes with a sales rep that kept putting me on hold saying there was a glitch in their system. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She put me on hold again, came back and told me she would put me through to a supervisor (laughter heard in the background). She put me through to a closed office that disconnected after a recorded message. I called back and explained what had happened to the new sales rep and he too put me through to the same recording. An hour of my time I won't get back and roamans will not be getting my $500+ order. If I provided that level of service at work I would be fired stat!
This item was way bigger than the size chart said. After i asked for a refund my cc was compromised so i had to cancel it. I called the company to tell them i needed a check mailed instead of on my card and they kept arguing with me saying they will give me a credit. I said these clothes are terrible quality and way too hard to get my 200$ back so i wont be ordering for here again. 1 hour later she said they will mail a refund. By the way it was 3 weeks after i mailed the fur coat back and still they had not credited that card.
2 months later still have not received a check. Lady told me the canceled it and i said i want to be compensated for the 40$ i paid in shipping since they still have not issued a check n she refused and said u will get it within 8 days n hung up on me! If i could rate negative starts i would! This company needs to be shut down
I thought I'd finally found the leather fringed jacket of my dreams but...NO. This jacket arrived packed in a bag/box. The fringe was so wrinkled, twisted and rolled that it looked like a rag. The jacket itself was wrinkled, and fold marks have still not improved. I paid over $200 plus shipping for this Jacket and it is non-refundable. WOW! What a rip. Beware of Photos of the merchandise. I would not wear this jacket out in public! It looks cheap and odd. I did a review on their site regarding the Jacket and they chose not to publish it. So, here it is for everyone to see. Do not waste your money on this!
Basically Roman's makes it difficult to get a refund or credit back to you for merchandise that has been put on sale. Your going to a stressful headache trying to get assistance from their customer service (in and out of country). You're special until you're not buying. SMH! NOT A GOOD WAY TO DO BUSINESS!
I have been trying to return an item bought thru Romans for over a week. There was NO return form included in the purchase. I have tried calling several times only to be placed on hold for over 30 minutes. I complained to Consumer Affairs and Romans has not resolved the problem. I sent them Emails only to be ignored. I go on my account and it says no purchases - although I had 2 purchases in the last month. So I guess I eat my 40 bucks - lesson learned - NO MORE
I recently bought two pairs of jeans from Roaman's. I have often placed orders here and have been generally pleased. However, after making the purchase and putting in the discount code, the discount did not apply. I was told it didn't apply because one of the pairs was on back order. Seriously? I am still going to buy the pants, why would the discount not apply? That's ridiculous! So disappointing. It's not my fault the pants were on backorder... this is poor customer service and bad business practice. Boo Roaman's!
I applied for a Roman's Platinum credit card and was approved. Roman's catalog clearly states that benefits are as follows: Earn $10.00 Rewards and free standard shipping four times a year on orders of $75.00 or more after merchandise discount when you use your Romans Platinum card. I placed and order over the phone in the amount of $133.00 and asked to take advantage of the free shipping offered with the card. Free shipping was denied. I was told, by a supervisor, that the free shipping advertised was only offered to card members four times a year at certain times and at the discretion of Romans. In other words, you have to shop when they tell you to, to take advantage of "free shipping". I am not placing an order when it is convenient for them! The advertised "free shipping" four times a year should be free shipping at any time up to four times a year but it is not. Very deceptive business practice! Beware.
Answer: I think they don't want very many people getting the sales price, then when you really still want that item you charge or pay at full price. I'm dealing with that same problem right now.
Answer: Good question! I have never heard of such a thing. My suggestion would be to call customer service from your card account and ask if this is common practice and request an explanation.
