I booked a room at the virgin river casino in nevada online. They charged 15.00 more for the room than what we agreed on and then they went and charged another 14.99 more booking fee that they never mentioned to us. They are thiefs. Dont deal with them. Kdw.
Same as everyone else - charge a 14.99 fee and I can't find anywhere in terms that this is stated - disputing through my bank. Horrible practice!
Recently, I reserved a hotel room online and paid the full amount of the room charge. Today, I noticed a $14.99 charge on my bank account from www.reservations.com. I have contacted my bank and will be disputing this charge. I checked the website where I completed the reservation, and found no such fee listed.
No where on the reservation does it show a $14.99 booking fee. They make you think you are booking directly with the hotel which you are not. Will not use again.
Hidden fee of 14.99 in US dollars. I thought I was booking with hotel directly as well. Advertises lower price then Expedia or Booking.com, but is much higher! I will NEVER use this site again! Very upset!
I too experienced an additional charge of $14.99 that is hidden in the acceptance small print. This is very misleading! When I called the person told me if I would have called the 800 number instead of an online booking the charge would not have been applied. Terrible. Will not use them again.
I clicked on a google ad thinking I was booking with a hotel directly. After going through the booking process, I noticed a $14,99 difference in what was on the email receipt and what was on the booking summary page. After some research, I found that they charge a 'booking' fee that is hidden in the fine print about their no fee changes and cancellations. It was definitely not disclosed. I called, stayed on hold for about 30 minutes and was then promised a refund. The next day I got an email saying my refund was denied. Don't repeat my mistake... avoid this questionable company.
Thought I was on the hotel site, as many others did. And maybe I was and it was somehow redirected to them. Paying 179.00 for a 139$ room. Of course no refund. Disputing with my bank and you should too.
Hidden prices, inaccurate receipts (the price charged does not equal the price stated on the receipt... is this even legal?!?), hidden currency, a purposefully deceitful website (prices are not quoted accurately, currency is not clearly stated), and nonexistent customer service. This is a fraudulent website that should be shut down (I cancelled my credit card after using it on their site).
For all you Canadians out there, the website advertises Canadian hotels however the prices are listed in USD (this is not clearly stated on the website)... and there ARE hidden fees. BEWARE!
Also, the Reservations.com website adds the name of the hotel you're searching for in google to the front of their website domain. For example, if you search for 'Best Western', their website will appear as 'bestwestern.reservations.com'. Deceitful and sneaky... don't get caught in the same trap I did. Book direct or with a legitimate website and always verify your currency.
Booked a hotel in canada for halifax, from moncton and got charged in US funds, what the F%$k beware before you book you think you are acually booking direct from the quality inn hotel in halifax, but reservations. Com takes your money in us funds.
Charged an additional $14.99, and I called to ask why and to ask that they send a receipt. They said they can't send me a receipt for the additional $15 charge. Better off booking through a legitimate website.
Stay away from this site!
I am Canadian, and I admit... I screwed up when booking through reservations.com. I didn't realize that the charges were is USD, so my "great deal" on a hotel in Banff really was not that great. But, that was my fault.
The one thing that will have me never use their services again is when I booked the room it does not include "taxes and fees" which were insanely over priced! We have 5% tax in Alberta, yet the taxes and fees for the room were over 20%!
To top it all off, I received a SECOND charge on my credit card for $21 Canadian (~$15 USD). I called and asked about this charge and was told that is a booking fee simply for using reservations.com. That's one steep booking fee for simply using a website, not to mention I have already paid 20% taxes and fees on the room itself.
Room breakdown:
$70 USD for the room itself
$22 USD for taxes and fees
$15 USD for use of reservations.com
I find this ridiculous! I will never use their services again and I hope nobody else ends up in the same situation (although it looks like I'm not alone on this matter)
I really enjoy trip planning and I think I am good at it... BUT I too got sucked in to thinking I was on the hotel's website. Not until all my details were completed and the reservation authorized, did I discover that the rate was in US dollars (for a Canadian hotel). At today's exchange rate of 1.37 that was a hefty increase. Also, at some point in the completion process, a logo popped up for Hotel-Checkout.com. Then the big surprise an added charge of $39.50US was added as a booking fee. There and then I decided to cancel the reservation and advise my credit card company. Today I called Res.com and demanded to speak to a supervisor. After lengthy waits, maybe 35 minutes, I did speak to someone and I have received written confirmation that my payment will be refunded. However the $39.50 booking fee was billed from another entity - Hotel-Checkout.com When I inquired at Res.com what their connection was to this reservation, they said they had no idea who this was! I have now written to Hotel-Checkout and they have promised a refund. We will see what happens now. Bottom line- do not use this company! Go direct for the best rate!
Luckily I clued in to this scam before I entered my credit card info - I called about the small print "US dollars" on my Canadian reservation adn found out it wasn't the hotel!

I thought I was dealing directly with the Hotel I wanted to book - it even had hotel logo on web page. I booked, and thought I would not be paying for the hotel until I checked in, I understood I could cancel free of charge up to a certain date. (I was booking this hotel about a month in advance.) I cancelled the hotel two days after booking as my appointment in the city was cancelled.
I looked at my credit card statement and saw my card was charged the $14.99(USD)(which I now see was the cost of doing a booking). Two days later another bill for $300.14 USD. I live in Canada, booked a Canadian hotel - rate was quoted in Canadian dollars, Reservations.com had converted rates to US - then converted back to Canadian dollar and I was being charged about 30% more for a reservation which I had cancelled.
I called the hotel, they had no record of the reservation and no payment from Reservation.com. IT IS NOW 10 DAYS SINCE I DID THIS - AND MY CREDIT CARD HAS NEVER BEEN REFUNDED.
BEWARE OF "RESERVATIONS.COM" IT IS A SCAM!
I called and set up my reservation for a weekend to visit our daughter. Arrived at the hotel at 7:30pm tried to check in and found I had no room. The hotel was booked. When I called reservation.com their response was so you didn't get charged for the room and hung up on me. Called 2 times without any satisfaction. Apparently onc they book you, your on your own. Stay away from Reservation.com
I was looking for a hotel, I clicked on this site, to see availability... I did not reserve a room thru them nor did I book a reservation. But I was charged on my credit card $14.99 for a reservation, then $93.67 for a room somewhere that I never got or stayed in. I am working with my credit card company now to try and get charges removed.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM... DO NOT CLICK ON THEM OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED!
They paid google a lot to get to the top of a hotel search session, direct me to a web page that looks like the hotel website, never review itself during the reservation process, advertised a rate of $278 for the room and when I submitted, additional charge of about $120 showed up without any warning whatsoever. Plus, they never sent me a confirmation email even if repeated request through their website. Called them next day, after 15 minutes, finally talked to a person who simply said that their system is down, called back later. But the website was functioning because when I could still pull out a reservation information page after putting in my travel details. Called the hotel directly, couldn't find the reservation under my name, and so I cancelled my reservation using the scambag's website, but it said the charges are non-refundable but cancellable, WTF!
Google search had name of the (actual hotel), reservations.com. Operator led me to believe it was the actual hotel. She did not correct me when I asked her. When I called to cancel the day before the reservation, I called the local number to the hotel and they informed me I booked it through a third party, but they did not show which one. I luckily found my mistake and successfully obtained a refund. Sleazy way to do business.
I am a very seasoned traveller and have never encountered the likes of this! I found 2 charges for $14.99 on my credit card. I phoned an 800 number to see if I could find out what company I had booked with who stuck in this charge. When I book a car, flight, hotel, the charges are always in the grand total! These people are like thieves that sneak in your reservation and rob you. My booking never sent me an email so I don't know which site to blame. I book so many hotels it never occured to chck for hidden fees. Never again will I use a site that is affiliated with these crooks.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
