I have been a regular customer of Postmates for quite awhile now, however I will cease to be! My last delivery was from a restaurant 6 blocks from my residence, Burger Lounge. Delivery usually takes 20 minutes maximum. This last time, delivery was over hour. I called the driver who said something about a Problem he was having with delivery before me. Okay, but what about my food sitting there getting cold. I contacted the restaurant who washed their hands of this and claimed no responsibility. I then contacted Postmates who gave me a $5 credit for stone cold food and an hour late delivery. I have eaten at many restaurants and if there is a problem, they really try to make it right. Postmates didn't try hard at all... I guess they don't want my business.
You pay $9.99 a month and honestly it's about the same price as grubhub or any of the others. I had the same driver twice and each time he delivered my food there was something missing from my order. Other times my order was not correct. It's impossible to get ahold of anyone from postmates. I want them to investigate the driver where my stuff was missing because it was him both times something was missing from my order. I'm pretty sure he or his kids in the back seat were eating each thing that was missing. Their menu's are basic at best and don't even have all items that you can get from other food delivery sites or the restaurant itself from the same restaurant. There's little description on a lot of things. It's way overpriced and the fact that you cannot get in touch with customer service it's a deal breaker for me. Other food delivery services have phone numbers or live chat and they don't have a monthly charge. They also need to add something where you do not want to see a specific driver again and you can report them.
In case your food doesn't arrive or the driver brings the wrong person's order - Postmates will NOT give you a full refund. They will keep the automatically applied tip for the driver even if they don't actually bring your order! They refunded the cost of the food and kept the tip for the driver even after multiple contacts to customer service.
You'll end up giving them gratuity for wasting your time. Stay away.
I would actually give Postmates a Negative 5 star review. All of our hot Food was delivered Cold. The order was wrong, missing items, incorrect completely. It was not cheap and I immediately contacted their Support online and stated the majority of our issues, because we didn't realize all of the errors at first. But the food being cold and having to reheat it, plus missing and incorrect items is just unacceptable. They offered $3.50 credit only. I called them because online they said stated that resolved the issue.
When I spoke to a human she said that's all they can do. Period.
Their service is strictly to deliver your meal orders and correctly. The rep said that's all she can do so I called my bank and cancelled the charge, which I told her that I would be doing plus writing a bad review.
When I looked up reviews to write my own, I saw that that out of 800 reviews, they received 94% 1 star reviews.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We have used them many times and there had been small mistakes that I never complained about but after today, I will never use them again!
I had to cancel my one and only attempt at ordering. As a side note the promo code "SOWEIRD" emailed to me did not work. It' was NOT expired either. Anywho... They simply add a couple/few dollars to each item and then tack on additional fees. This company appears to be reliant on customers being, not only lazy, but also kind of stupid. Either that or they are looking fir people wealthy enough to pay around 80% of the actual order for delivery. Yikes.
I placed my order and Postmates cancelled it after putting a hold on the funds. I called the restaurant to see if they knew why Postmates would do this and they were clueless. This was my first and last time dealing with them.
Stay away from this delivery service. They often over charge and do not credit your account. They automatically tip even if the food is up to 45 minutes late. I just deleted my account due to the poor customer service over an issue I just had. My kids ordered Sonic, 2 burgers, tots and 2 drinks. The bill was 43.00. I get being over charged a little for the burgers but a 7.99 service fee and an almost 4.00 tip!. The order was totally wrong, both burgers were completely wrong and I got a 3.00 credit.
I reordered and waited 22 minutes for them to cancel the order. I then tried Panda ( I was at a work event) it was 34 minutes late and cold. I have had it. I got a 6.00 credit, it took me an hour and forty minutes to feed my kids and horrible customer service! Never again!
Order food for the first time with Post mates used a coupon put in my order. First it said it was cancelled then it said it was confirmed my card was charge then it was cancelled the money was taken off my card. Called Post mates the lady Christina apologize about the cancellation they put a hold on my account then she sent my information over to the resolution part then they sent me an email saying we've fixed the problem I still didnt get my money back yet ridiculous too bad I cant give this company an 0
Postmates has the worst customer service of every delivery service I have ever used. If your order is completely wrong and doesn't contain what you ordered? Sorry, here's $5. Once waited over an hour for a pizza, and when it showed as being right outside my door- cancelled on me. No way to get immediate support or a replacement order, and nothing was done to compensate me other than just refunding my money a few days later. They send me promo codes often (specifically to my account) and when I go to input them they don't work... customer support just sends some boilerplate email. That's false advertising and a way to bait people in. Recently got an order that was cold and of tremendously poor quality, I sent them a picture and alerted them immediately - customer support said 'sorry, we hope it doesn't happen again'. The food was inedible, but still didn't get as much as a free delivery code. This company is an absolute rip off and you would be better off with Grubhub, DoorDash, or hiring a school child to bring you food.
After receiving an email on a Friday promising free delivery I ordered over the weekend, I ordered a delivery on Saturday. When I was charged the delivery fee at the timeof the order I contacted customer service. 6 emails of runaround resulted in the final one saying, "Thanks for letting us know there was an issue with your order today. I apologize for the inconvenience. I've looked over your issue and the circumstances as requested. After reviewing the order again, I wanted to let you know that we are not able to take any further action." They are crooks!
Postmates has a lot of perks as it is convenient and typically accurate with orders. However if there is a problem customer service will not help you. I once received an email about a promotion and called in to make sure it applied to my account before submitting the order. The rep assured me that the promo would be applied after initial charges. The promo was never applied and after many emails back in forth they never honored the promo. I would suggest trying another service that does not lie to customers.
Their subscription service implies that you will get free delivery with the monthly or annual fee. In practice they will then charge you $5+ per order in "fees". These are the delivery charges essentially masked as operating expenses which are one in the she for a delivery company. If you are not a member you are then charged twice for the same service(double dipping is illegal in many states). The consumer does not know this unless they have used the service before and had the rude awakening when your $25 food order becomes $31 with delivery fee which itself then becomes $38 with taxes and fees($2 tax + $5 fees) making your $25 order $38 before tip for the driver. The tips are a whole other scam according to drivers who claim they don't get the same that you give or sometimes anything at all.
They are double dipping and using misleading marketing practices.
My last day with my company and a co-worker ordered 4 of us lunch. 2 of us didn't get anything we ordered. After talking to Postmates they gave him FOUR dollars back (our food was way more then that) and it's only a "credit for next time!" None of us will use postmates again!
False advertising. Poor customer service. Undecided only to make the wrong decisions. They are absolute trash. In writing they will tell you you will get 100 dollars off, but when you don't and you actually call them, after 10 minutes they assure you that this will apply as 99 cents for your next 100 orders, if you are lucky. Absolute trash.
Unlimited Members beware. If you're thinking of referring your friends to Postmates to claim the $100 credit, don't waste your time. The credit is only good for seven days and applies only to the delivery portion of your bill. If your order totals more than $15, delivery charges for Unlimited Members are waived anyway. This is a total joke; don't be taken in by it.
Their prices are outrageous! Do Not Order from Postmates. I had been ordering almost once a week! Thinking I was paying the same prices as the menu before me. This last time I went to order and a Ramen bowl ($11.50) and Postmates charges $16.85! OMG! I called the restaraunt, thinking they raised their prices! In disbelief! NO! They said that's Postmates who raises their menu prices on their website. $#*!ty $#*!ty! And they mislead us by charging $2.99 for delivery! SCAM
Ordered once guy showed up at the back of my apartment says GPS took him to the back of the building. He never shows up to the front. Postmates refunded my order, tried again a week later ordered from Chiptloe again, took Postmates almost an hour to get here. Guy texts pulling up, next text from him says Flower child? Im like huh? He never shows. I emailed Postmates that theyre delivery guy never showed. And theyre response is based on the history of our account they woulnt be refunding. Like wtf! Ive never ha d a problem with Uber Eats or Door Dash. Even spoke with a manager from Chiptloe who called me back after i complained and told them DONT use Postmates theyre garbage. Chiptloe offered to refund me... now thats customer service at its finest, theyre taking up Postmates slack and they shouldnt have to.
Every order I've made has had a missing item. They're delivery is slow, there fees are ridiculous, the customer service is crap, they've refused to give me refunds even after charging me for items I didn't get, forced tipping glitch that cost me money and they did nothing about it. They just don't care.
Crap company, run by crooks.

STAY AWAY! - They don't give you actual prices if it's not from a "partner merchant"; they say it's an estimate. I ordered sushi and the estimated price was $37. Sounds good, so I placed my order. Actual charges? Over $50! So I contacted Customer Support. First reply "The restaurant specified that your order cost $50.08." Ummm, soooo how did you come up with a $37 estimate? You're telling me you underestimated charges by over 35%?
THEN, after I threatened to blog everywhere and contact the BBB, I got a second reply saying they would refund the difference in 1-3 business days. Guess what? One week later? NOTHING!
This is a total scam operation. I've heard from others that have mentioned the same thing.
Please stay away - I personally would recommend DoorDash - had nothing but great luck with them.
Postmates scamming $#*!, i even pay for unlimited so I dont pay delivery. This is literally $1 n sum away from double the price, I love how the tax is also literally over $1 off. HOW IS THIS EVEN LEGAL!

Answer: Their app has all type of glitches and issues they did the very same to me I didn't even sign up for their free trial but I am now having to dispute a charge of 95.88 on my account. I was charged for orders I never got and also I reached out to them multiple times never got anything back. They actually put on the app that the order was resolved when I have never spoken to them this company is a fraud and I do not know why they are still in business! I'd say remove your card information.
