I was passed out on the floor when the driver was attempting the delivery. Instead of following protocol, he waited for a long time + kept calling. He delivered the cake, and left an angry, demeaning comment on my order.
I was found, revived and made it to the couch, I remembered the order, went to the app to see what had happened. I felt horrible that I missed the calls. Instead, I found that comment by the driver.
8:24 PM to 8:49 PM
I went to the chat to let them know what happened.
They were worse than the driver. So after ignoring me, getting around answering anything, and denying helping me with reporting this after asking 4 times, he ended our chat mid sentence. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but chat rep pushed me too far. I went to leave review and rate the order.
Review that was attempted 5 times to leave:
"The store was great! The driver, however, left the most rude comment on my order as I was actually passed out and almost dead on the floor. So, that was cool. And then Marion, the chat customer service agent, whose response to my complaint was "leave something in the review so he can read it and learn!" and then blew me off all four times I asked for help and ended the chat without finishing the conversation. FYI, Marion, according to your company's policy, the drivers don't see the rating or comments for my safety (thanks!). Sadly, I don't get to have my education session with MYASNIK. So, on principle, and because this whole situation is incredibly demeaning, I'm escalating this as high as I can. I'm posting this on every review site it can. And I'm asking my journalist husband how to write an op-Ed to make this public. Once I was I was found and helped up, I checked my phone to make sure my order went okay and say sorry for being absent. It was a lovely thing to read right after almost dying and in searing pain. So thank you, Postmates, for literally not caring about me, your drivers' behavior, and obfuscating every request for assistance I asked for in the chat. Hat's off to you! Hats off to misogynist and rude driver, MYASNIK. And mostly, hats off to the pretend cheerful chat agent Marion who literally wouldn't answer one question and hung the chat up on me mid-conversation. You guys certainly know how to go out in full style. Thanks!"
The next page gave me option to change the tip. I tried 4 times to delete the tip but the page wouldn't let me. When I left his tip alone, I could submit my review.
So now I'm laying on the couch, bruised and concussed, and beyond upset. Despite my husband's suggestion to chill out, I can't get over how I had been treated by 2 men who were rude, lacking empathy, and clearly were misogynists. I'm saddened by their behavior (and in the chat, disregard for my disability). This is not just an Uber problem, but it was the last straw. I believe in treating people with dignity. I also definitely will escalate the issue when I feel they aren't. As Bob Belcher likes to say, "It's the *principle*, Lynn!" (Chef's kiss to anyone who loves Bob's Burgers as much as I do!)
9:15 pm
Uber removed my review, doubled the driver's tip without my permission, logged me out! They are now making me update my password to get back in! I am back to the order, trying to review and leave my comment again. It was again deleted.
It's now been deleted four times. Each time it was immediately deleted. I am also unable to change the driver's (now doubled) tip. Also, is it legal to tip more than I approved?
9:25 PM
Now I just can't log in at all. I was not going to use Postmates again. However, I am disabled, ill and can't drive. I rely on Uber to get me to my numerous doctor appointments. Despite not agreeing with Uber's company ethos, I'm on a small amount of disability and they tend to be way cheaper.
I used to use Postmates on a daily basis since they were beta testing in Los Angeles around 2012 for getting what keeps me alive and fed. Driver's kept leaving my orders on the sidewalk outside. Postmates/Uber did nothing about it so I stopped using them.
Tonight they were the only app with access to something I needed. They confirmed they don't care about their employees or their consumers.
It's been a horrible night. Thanks for being a large part of that, Uber. For anyone who is counting: an extremely rude comment, rude customer service, being charged MORE tip money without my consent, deleting my reviews, restricting my access…And finally, denying an extremely sick woman a way they can get medical care they desperately require. Yay! You know how to kick someone who is already - literally - on the ground.
I'm off to escalate this with Uber Corporate. Wish me luck!
This app went bananas when they merged with Uber. Rude and sexist male drivers, drivers who just leave your order on the side walk, “customer service” that basically just tries to get you off the phone or chat. The DO NOT CARE if you are disabled. They have no empathy, morals, or transparency. Issues will never get resolved.
Food delivery
Obviously they have 1 stars because if we could all give them 0 we would, but unfortunately we have to at least select 1. This "business" should literally be shut down horrible service who STEALS money from the account. Lolololololololololol
YUP DDUK LA, a Korean restaurant---located at 3603 W 6th St, Los Angeles, CA *******---is only a 2 minute drive from my hotel. However, since I had lower back pain, I decided to order delivery.
Almost two hour later, I received a call from a guy stating that he had arrived at my hotel; so I told him I'll be right there, and rushed down.
I went outside the hotel and checked out several cars parked in front of the hotel---and even asked a few people in their vehicles if they were Uber drivers (but they weren't).
I then called the unknown, Uber guy's phone number back, but an automated message said that I wasn't able to complete the call. I then looked around the hotel parking lot and nearby areas, but didn't see anyone there either.
So I returned to my hotel room and contacted Postmates, and spoke with Jay (with an Indian accent). He asked, so I gave him the very long, order confirmation number (that I took a screenshot of, thankfully, among other proof of purchase, to include the last four of my credit card number that I used for this order).
But after putting me on hold for a minute or so, and talking to his Supervisor, Jay then told me that they had recently merged with Ubereats, hence, I needed to contact them.
However, my attempt to contact Ubereats was unsuccessful since 1) an automated message stated that they don't take phone calls now, and 2) since they suggested I receive help via an Ubereats account, I created one, only to find out that they have no record of my order (though Jay from Postmates said that they merged, and for me to contact Ubereats). What a vicious circle this is!
I then contacted the restaurant (mentioned above), but this snappy, unhelpful, young woman stated that there was no order placed under my full name and/or my phone number.
She also added that they're not responsible for what their delivery people do (i. E., there's a blue tab that you click on titled, "ORDER DELIVERY" by Postmates, right below the business name, YUP DDUK LA, and their Google reviews). I will copy and paste this review for this restaurant's Google review as well, so that others have a heads up.
Later tonight (6/4/2021), I received a 'no reply' email from Postmates apologizing for overcharging me (and that it would be corrected), and then stating that my order was successfully delivered.
But of course, since I haven't been able to contact Ubereats---the goto customer service now according to Postmates---I wasn't able to inform them that I didn't receive my order.
I called my credit card bank to block the charge from them; but they have to wait until the pending turns into a post in order to dispute.
I wonder if both Postmates and Ubereats are completely aware of this, and using this to their advantage.
I also wondered how many other Souls they screwed over; and sure enough, I came upon online sites such as Sitejabber, that reveals the truth of the many.
Well, if this is the type of non-beneficial, negative, fear-based energy that these companies want to dish out, I have no doubt that humanity in general will become a COLLECTIVE WITNESS to their INEVITABLE DOWNFALL in Divine perfect timing and order, along with ALL other questionable, shady, dishonest, deceptive, misleading, and/or corrupt companies who mistakenly think they're so clever at taking advantage of others, not realizing at a profound Soul level, that ALL of Life throughout this world and beyond is energetically interconnected.
There seems to be an abundance of collective proof from many people that Postmates are not trustworthy, reliable, professional, AND they're not willing to take responsibility for very poor service.
Delivery service.
If I could rate this a 0 I would. I placed an order at 8:02pm, which the amount was immediately debited from my account and I received a confirmation email that the merchant had confirmed the order and I would receive it by 9:27pm. At 10pm, I tried to contact Postmates, only to have the option to send an email because I hadn't received it. I reached out to the restaurant and they told me that they never received an order for me from postmates. I finally received a call from Postmates nearly 3 hrs after my order was placed. The young lady was nice, apologized, and told me that they would be crediting my money back to my account because they didn't have a driver available for my order. At this point, I was heated because of the fact that this was very poor and unacceptable service. If you didn't have a driver, then you shouldn't have taken my order, very deceiving. I explained to her that I have kids here and we've been waiting to eat for hours now and all you can say is sorry, pretty much "my bad". The restaurant was only 5 minutes away, and I just didn't want to leave out of my house but had I'd known I would have left to pick it up myself, all it would have taken is for them to call me back after my order was placed through their site and let me know. I asked for a manager, which she put me on hold and came back to the line to tell me that a supervisor would call me back. At 11:09 pm, a supervisor called me and apologized but told me that the issue was not with them but it was with the restaurant putting my order on hold and not reaching out to them when it was ready to place the order. So another excuse... I am a manager for a Call Center, I would never continue to make excuses when the service regardless of who's at fault. It's a manager's job to find a resolution for the customer. She told me that she would get me over to another team to ask them to compensate me for my time and inconvenience. She said that she would remain on hold with me and explain to them what happened. I sat on hold for 1 hr and 9 min. Enough time to reach out to another delivery service and get food. No one came to the line, neither did she check in and apologize for the long wait... not even to offer to reach out to the area herself and give me a call back, since enough of my time had been wasted. I eventually hung up close to 1am, not hearing back from anyone. It's 24hrs later and I was trying to give them a benefit of a doubt. I wish I had read other reviews before trying out Postmates. This was by far the worse experience and POOR, POOR, POOR costumer service!
I ordered from here and the guy literally cancelled 1 1/2 hours into my Delivery...he literally cancelled right before i was about to get my Delivery...i tried to contact him which he never answered any texts or calls...when i contacted the company he finally responded and he text me that his bike got stolen along with my order...it seemed shady but i said whatever and placed another order after 40 minutes or trying to find a worker it cancelled...and it kept happening over and over...to point i had to search the internet for a number.. because they prefer everything on email so they can get back to you when they feel like it...i called and was told that couldn't do anything because they are live support to call back later for past orders...i did that and had a rude customer support staff side with the workers i then asked to speak to a manager which i did...i was told i was going to get a refund plus a 20 dollar credit...3 days later i went to order and guess what my order came with missing items as usual and i had no 20 dollar credit...when i called back to speak to a manager i was immediately told i could not speak to a manager ...think about that...does that sound right ? No it doesn't so i went to close out my account and i was told i couldnt do that through the app..why not ? So i had to call customer service and have them close it out which it takes 3 business days to do...the bottom line is postmates does not cater to their customers instead they cater to their workers...their delievery personal pick up orders when and if they feel like it...which means you wait hours and hours and sometimes your order is never picked up...then their Delivery petsonal can cancel or make up an excuse to not deliver your food up to minute of them being at your door...when you contact customer service its through email so they can be as slow as they want and answer you when they feel like it...all of this is catered towards the company and their workers not you the customer...i was told i was going to get 20 dollar credit which never materialized or they probably were going to give it to me when they felt like it which is the song of the day at this service...every thing is when they feel like it...they dont care or value you as customer...to the missing items and extremely late Deliveries...to people delivering food that do not even look like the picture on the app... this service is a joke... and the sad jokes on the customer....
My husband placed an order on my Postmates app on December 31 at 11:44pm. It usually takes less than 30 minutes to receive Postmates orders, even during busy periods. Our driver Isaiah, however, took over an hour to arrive near our location during a slow period (and we did not choose the "party" option). We received a text from Postmates stating that our order was out for delivery and that our Postmate would drop off the items at 12:31am. Soon after that, it said, "Your Postmate has arrived." However, when we checked the map at some point, it said the estimated delivery was now 12:48am, and it showed the driver's car not even close to our area (see screenshot). We did not get ANY form of contact directly from our driver until 1:01am. This is 30 minutes after he supposedly "arrived" at our location and 13 minutes after the "estimated delivery" we got through the app. By this point (1:01am), 1 hour and 17 minutes had passed since we initially placed our order. Why did it take SO long for him to arrive during a slow period when it usually only takes around 30 minutes to deliver even during busy periods? We realized he'd called at 1:01am and called him back at 1:05am; he did not answer. After being unable to reach him via phone to call back, we opted to try reaching out to him via text at 1:06am (see all photos attached for screenshots of these exchanges). At this point, my husband had gone outside to wait in the front and had also continued communicating with Isaiah via text. Isaiah responds to the text and claims he was "driving around for 15 minutes" and couldn't find us even though he had not even initiated a single form of contact with us within that 15 minutes aside from the single call he made just 5 minutes prior at 1:01am (for which our return call at 1:05am was not answered). By this point, my husband was standing outside waiting for him with our building door, which faces 30th street directly, wide open. Isaiah responded to both my and my husbands texts (my husband using my phone outside at the door, and me using the texting feature on my laptop) with texts stating that he couldn't park anywhere and the streets were too narrow. I have NEVER heard a Postmate complain about that even during busy times. On top of that, since we ended up having to reorder that night, our next delivery driver had no problem at all delivering the items. I don't care what that driver says, but it doesn't take 15 minutes to find our place, and he should have eventually been able to find it, ESPECIALLY if my husband is standing outside with the building door wide open facing 30th Street. Our address is not difficult to find (especially when you have someone standing outside with the door wide open!). Again, no Postmate has ever complained about not being able to find us, even when we are not waiting outside. On top of that, we responded to Isaiah within the 5-minute window required via both call and text and he made excuses to not deliver. Amidst trying to find him outside, we get a return message that says "The message was not delivered", and eventually we receive notification that, "Isaiah B. Completed your deliver..." Except he didn't! He absolutely did not complete the delivery, so why are we getting a message that says that? We ended up having to place a new order, and that took a fraction of the time, and the driver had NO issues at all delivering. I have reattached the text screenshots so that hopefully someone will actually look at them this time around. I highly suggest Postmates look into this driver regardless of whether we get a refund or not. His customer service was abysmal. I have been a repeat customer of Postmates for a long time, and it is a shame I cancelled my subscription membership after this. When Max and Daniel at customer service told me nothing could be done about this, I just decided I simply couldn't trust that Postmates will try to solve problems if they were to happen again in the future after this experience. That paired with a handful of other disappointing experiences all in a row this past week has made cancelling my membership and saying goodbye to Postmates the logical next step. After a long time of Postmates loyalty, we'll be looking into Uber Eats and Grubhub now.
I recently placed an order through Postmates and was informed multiple items were not available via text/email. I spoke to the delivery driver via cellphone and he informed me that multiple items were not available and it would take a really long time for the order to be made through that particular restaurant. We both agreed on canceling the order and me moving on to another restaurant, no problem. I understand these things happen. I was charged for the order for 81 dollars but assumed it would fall off my account once it was done processing but it didn't. I contacted Postmates customer support as soon as the charge was done processing to let them know I was charged for an order I did not receive. I was informed they could not issue a refund since the order was placed more than 48 hours prior, after doing research and reading reviews and looking up the history of this company I can see they do this so they have a window that will allow the charges to process after the 48 hour period so they are in the clear to take your money. I didn't realize how predatory the company was at this time so I wrote back explaining that I didn't realize there was an issue until the charge cleared that morning. They wrote back that they could not refund the money at this time and sent me there policy. I understand the policy but the menu listed on the app was not what was available which started the problem to begin with and the driver did not inform that I would still get charged for food that was not available. I wrote them back again explaining in detail what had happened only to get a response that they can not refund my money. At this point I realized that I was being scammed and this company has no business in the customer service industry. I've been in the customer service industry for 20+ years in multiple restaurants in multiple states. My current restaurant is considering using Postmates but I will inform of my experience so they can avoid alienating future guests that use this app. I will also be informing my fellow restaurant companions of the practices of this company. As all the people I know are servers/bartenders/general managers and owners. I will reach out to past restaurants I have worked at to pass along the warning as well. I normally am against online reviews but this company is a straight up scam with no customer service experience and I'm appalled that they are part of my industry. I will be moving forward with outside council on the issue, not just for me but for all those who have been scammed by this company. If you have had money stolen by Postmates check back on this review as I will update it with links to the proper firms that will stand up to this type of theft. I've never been so angered by a company before this. Thank you for taking your time to read this and pass the information along to your friends and family's so they do not fall victim as well.
ORDERING FROM POSTMATES ENDANGERED MY FAMILY!
It had been a long day, so we decided to order in. We chose Postmates and ordered a couple of combos with soda and tea (from a local fast food establishment). When the delivery driver showed, he demanded an ID. We had not experienced this with delivery services before and assumed that it might be in regards to the credit card used. The delivery guy was asked why. The answer was that our order was flagged for having alcohol and we needed to show an ID to prove we were over 21 years old (We are OBVIOUSLY well over 21). Although, we did not order alcohol, we complied. Then, there seemed to be an issue with the State issued ID being expired (the current ID was unavailable). We did not understand the problem and just wanted our food. The driver was asked if he had ordered, picked up or had with him any alcohol for our order; to which, he responded that he did NOT. He was asked, why then would the order require showing ID. According to the Postmates driver, he didn't "f*cking" know. Seemingly agitated by our rightful curiosity and questioning, he abruptly took off cursing and exclaimed the food was free. We were just left standing at our door stunned. At that time, we did not blame the driver. We just assumed it must have been the policy, and fault, of Postmates and, not only did we pay Postmates, we even left the driver a reasonable tip. Next thing we know, there's TWO POLICE OFFICERS AT OUR DOOR.
The police claimed there was a report of something suspicious and wanted to talk to our family members individually for a safety check! When Postmates was later contacted about this egregious incident, we were informed that apparently the soda was flagged as being alcohol, because it was a ROOT BEER! They called our encounter an inconvenience. All because we asked a Postmates representative, why we had to show ID for alcohol that we did not order or purchase, all the sudden my family is under suspicion by law enforcement and was requested to seemingly be interrogated by police who appear to be fishing for possible abuse within our home. What!?! This was more than just a mere inconvenience! THIS WAS A WAKE UP CALL! YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW WHO THESE STRANGERS ARE coming to your home, have access to your food and that could be mentally unstable making them a danger to you and your family! Not only do we NEVER intend to order from Postmates again, but, now, not from any food delivery service. My family's safety is all that matters!
We do not blame those officers. They got the call and did their duty. We respect them for the great job they did with the fact that they showed intelligence and reason and did not escalate the situation further. The police should never have received that call. They have far better things to do with their time, like going on legitimate calls, that actually protect and serve the community, and not seemingly be used to harass and intimidate a family because a delivery driver didn't like their justifiable questioning. DESPICABLE!
