Called because my medication was suddenly not covered - everything checked out at the pharmacy and online via their site. Had the site pulled up on my computer and the associate told me the site was down - blatant lie. Getting tired of constant formulary changes and terrible customer service. I will be looking for prescription coverage elsewhere next enrollment period.
While everyone acts happy and helpful, they all tell you lies or the script written for them to speak. They continue to say next month we can get your medicine that isn't available right now. Yet I can get it from Walgreens - and have to pay a lot more money. They make you jump through hoops and paper work to start a new medication and then finally say no it isn't covered. No one knows how to do anything but their job and do not know who to forward you to so therefore the next person lies and makes you do something that isn't right and a week later still no medication arrives. The most inept incompetent pharmacy. How they can be in business legally because of dangerous mistakes and mismanagement of drugs is scary.
Every year this company along with the health insurance manages to keep me from getting my medications at least 3 months of the year or longer. Between billing mistakes, authorizations and prescriptions they screw it up as mush as possible. Their on line system is flawed and you cant get a human that has any idea what is going on. They are the absolute worst pile of crap. Run, Run, Run as far and as fast as you can unless you are forced by insurance to use this company, then may God have mercy on you.
United Healthcare forced us to use this company. It's the worst decision they could have made. Every time my husband gets on the phone with them, depending on who he talks to, because they always have different answers, he usually spends about 1-2 hours going round and round with them. Today he spoke with a guy, hung up,, called right back to ask another question, and a girl said their computers were down and instructed him to call back in about 2-3 hours. He told her he just literally got off the phone with someone. How could their computers be down that fast? Complete ridiculousness.
I've only been with them 3 months (because of my retirement contract with my unions) I've had nothing but problems since. The most important medication I take everyday can't get filled because it's not in stock or something else.
After calling to check my medication order and make a payment. They made an unauthorized withdrawal from my debit card.
It's been 4 days of lies, being hung up on, and transferred from one person to another. With no help in sight on getting my funds replaced.
Just as when people who looked the other way when the Nazi's were putting Jewish people on trains to send them to gas chambers, OptumRx is participating in the slow murder of those who are dependent on medications to stay alive. Every year OptumRx puts one's medications on 'trial' and make one's physician responsible for going through a challenging 'prior authorization' process. In the process monthly delivers cease and supplies dwindle. Suddenly OptumRx rejects a medication one has been on for years and the patient is left to spend countless hours going through appeals processes and endless calls in their bureaucratic nightmare.
Honestly they suck! I have never seen a provider that cannot do anything right. I need drops for my eyes for glaucoma and my doctor authorizes me to have 5 bottles for use.
Sometimes you use more and sometimes your eyebrows get into the way and blocks the medicine so you have to use more of it to take your medicine. I use one drop each eye every night before bed and when I told the representatives this she indicates that I am wasting it like it is a true science towards doing this?
I have dealt with this organization now 20 times over this issue and since things are mail ordered from the insurance policy we have with Blue Cross/Blue Shield in North Carolina these guys truly suck. I would not recommend these "Clowns" for anyone which is the reason why now I just opt out for prescriptions and use the various apps to save money on my prescriptions without their authorization.
Straight clowns!
Well, after getting several emails that my meds were being shipped, I got one which said the med was discontinued by the manufacturer. How can you say it is being shipped when it was unavailable? OK, when I called, I could get it from another pharmacy (if they had it), ask the MD to change the med (generic only) or do without. If the MD changed it to a non-generic, I would have to bear the cost differential. This kind of service is exactly what you should avoid at all costs. What is the point of medication insurance coverage?
Optum RX Pharmacy has the worst customer service and I give them a zero. My health insurance through my husband work has changed as of January 2022 and they would not transfer my prescription to the new approved local pharmacy. They also blocked me from the Optum RX Pharmacy website so I cannot make the transfers requests. So frustrating. I contacted my doctor's office and talk to a wonderful lady I have known for many years and they are sending my prescription to my new pharmacy. There is always a way around bad customer service, so don't give up no matter what you are dealing with today.
I have had so many issues with this company, and I can't even count the hours spent trying to figure it out on my own. It's resulted in countless occurrences of being denied refills and meds that I am dependent upon with them never even contacting me to inform me of it until after the fact. If you can avoid them, do.
Doctor sent an insulin prescription three times over a one month period (faxed and confirmed) and still they didn't acknowledge that they received it. It was a critical insulin that I cannot do without.
They call to push ordering prescriptions (as a friendly reminder) and when I say I'm not ready to refill they refilled it anyway. That means they charged my card when they wanted instead of when I was ready. This was for especially expensive medications costing hundreds of dollars. Their focus is on making money but provide poor service.
I have literally spent hours on the phone trying to resolve prescription issues. It all started when they sent the medication to the incorrect address, not one that I had ever even lived at. It was a business address. Then it took three more phone calls and more time on the phone trying to explain to them their error and to finally get my medication. You get shuffled back-and-forth between departments, one person says they're going to fix it, and then something else goes wrong. I have never dealt with a medical pharmaceutical company that has absolutely no idea how to do their job correctly, and in a timely fashion, in order to get life sustaining medicine to the customer. I actually give them NO stars!
They use the excuse "estimated price" to excuse WIDE variances in prices quoted vs pricing at drive thru pickup.
Customer service folks are marginally civil, and generally if you persist in asking about quoted prices vs actuality, your call will be "dropped".
I have zero confidence in this service.
It's only a matter of time before they mess up your billing. I've been in a year long battle with them over something that I did not authorize. I have placed over a dozen calls, all lasting over an hour. In the end someone tells you what you want to hear to get you off the phone, then they do nothing about the problem. I have chosen not to take my medication rather than deal with them
Like the other reviewers I too have United Healthcare. And I too have had stunningly bad customer service. I have to call them for each refill because their automated contacting does not seem to work. Every call takes over half an hour because the services people seem to have no idea what they are doing.
The web site is also terrible. But there we are. There is no option to give feedback, and in frustration I have submitted my feedback to United. It will be interesting to see how they respond.
This prescription provider is the absolute worst. Over communicate the same information and under communicate essential information.
Get a script from DOC - but wont tell anyone or investigate w/ Doc to let them know why they have an issue with the script. -
Takes me 3 weeks to get it ironed out.
I've waited for an automatic refill since I ran out of meds a10 days ago. I've had to call 5 days with no response as prompted. I waited 3 hrs today and when the phone rang I answered on first ring and was disconnected.
I have never had a problem with any other pharmacy. These people suck. I try to get prescriptions every 90 days but I spend two hours on the phone every time and all I hear is "I understand sir" Apparently they don't and I waste my time. United Healthcare get it together and get rid of these morons or I'm getting rid of you. Years of misery!
Substandard customer service, they have people answering the phone, from overseas more than likely, that have no clue what they are doing. Even supervisors are clueless and less than helpful. If I could go elsewhere, I would, but stuck with this idiot company due to United Healthcare, UGH!
Answer: They are a legitimate pharmacy benefits manager for United Healthcare, but their prices and practices leave alot to be desired.
Answer: Don't hold your breath - they are all about money - not customer service
Answer: You can send them a message on their website which they won't even read for days, so it's a useless feature. You can also call them at 1 (800) 356-3477 and sit on hold for 10 minutes before getting a person to talk to. In my experience, calling them has never resolved whatever issue I'm calling about, but you can talk to someone.
Answer: Only bad part of this united plan. Optum is worse than poor. They misplace Rx's and then lie
Optumrx has a rating of 1.1 stars from 464 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Optumrx most frequently mention customer service, local pharmacy and mail order. Optumrx ranks 8th among Pharmacy sites.
