Substandard customer service, they have people answering the phone, from overseas more than likely, that have no clue what they are doing. Even supervisors are clueless and less than helpful. If I could go elsewhere, I would, but stuck with this idiot company due to United Healthcare, UGH!
Or the same one every time!
Ugh this pharmacy drives me crazy. The worst customer service. And I only use it because I'm required to use a specialty pharmacy for one of my meds and my insurance works with these knuckle heads.
I try my best not to call them because I spend 20 minutes on hold and talk to someone for 2 minutes only to be transferred a bunch of times.
You get to the bottom of the issue but only after long calls.
If you do not have to use this pharmacy, don't.
After a 2 weeks and 30+ phone calls to the Philippines I was transferred to someone in the US that basically was just as not helpful as the others … save yourself the headache and google the drug name and coupon and see if there's an actual real pharmacy nearby you can get it thru. Avoid this cluster of a company as much as possible!
All my medications are covered under my United Healthcare coverage; however, Optumrx is saying my asthma inhaler may not be covered and they want my card info for any payments pending. Never had to pay before and been on this med for years. I thought this would be a good option for me but not anymore.
Worst prescription insurance company. Title of the review says it all. Call center employees are frequently incapable of communicating the solution of a single simple step to get prescriptions filled. Emails sent out contain no information on issues with pending RX orders. Once had to speak to three separate employees to find out that I simply had to update the credit card on file for their website to get a pending prescription to process. Website is next to useless.
I've been on a medication for several years. Each year I have to do a prior authorization. I needed the prescription filled a month ago. The doctor has filled out the information twice, it still hasn't been approved. An insurance company has no business determining if they feel my medication is appropriate. On top of that, I've been told 10 different things and spent a few hours on the phone. I am appalled at the audacity of an insurance company to not just have a list of approved meds and use that instead of questioning my healthcare regimen.
Customer service will literally hang up on you if it isn't something quick to answer after long hold times. I have been trying to get a prior authorization to go through that they get wrong every six months. I started on Oct. 11,2021, and today it is 12/16/2021 and it still has not gone through. Even the Supervisor's are unhelpful. Someone put in a case for me to have my situation investigated and even they have not been back in touch with me. I have wasted over 12 hours on the phone with them to still not have my issue corrected... which is on their end... not my doctor's or mine like they try to excuse it. Then they transfer me again. It is an endless cycle for a prescription I have had for 2 1/2 years.
This is the worst Company for customer service. Every time I have called I have been on the phone for over an hour and have been transferred to at least 4 Departments at a minimum with no resolution to the problem. Each Department start off by asking you the same information. Finally someone Will give you another 800 number so you can start the process again
Constantly keeping ordered on "hold". The reason fir the hold differed with every customer service rep.
Customer service reps completely not helpful, repeating what you say over and over, hard to understand due to strong Indian accents, takes so long to get truth to a call due to constant repeating of information. I can no longer get stand dealing with this company. The worst pharmacy on the planet.
Absolutely the worst on line prescription service I have ever dealt with. We are now on the fifth call to try to get a prescription filled that has been a maintenance prescription for 20 plus years. Never had a single issue with the previous company. Their agents on line have zero authority and keep adding new conditions to get a simple prescription filled. Confusion reigns with this company and one has to wonder if their compensation plan rewards them for denying prescriptions. I cannot rate them low enough to describe the gross incompetence we have experienced.
I have been stuck with this pharmacy while doing 2 IVF cycles. They are completely awful. Their automated system is impossible to navigate, and it takes forever just to speak to a person who can never help. They are expensive, and I NEVER want to deal with them again. I'd rather spend more money on a better pharmacy.
I recieved a bill for 168.72 and from back in FEBRUARY.When i inquired about this the rude woman said it was my bill. I called the 2 credit card companies and they both told me no charge was ever made. However this woman insisted I PAY which I DID BUT I FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. In my life if there is no charge maybe they made a mistake. I FELT compelled to pay with the tone she was using.
I called and had the best experience. Someone got all the information needed and assured me my mothers meds would be there when the time came for refill. I was informed I would be contacted if there were any issues. Here I am, two days before she runs out of one of her meds, and they have NOTHING on file? One out of 7 scripts is all they can come up with and now I need to contact her doctor to provide a script for something that takes a few days to get in. Never mind the rest of the scripts - this is a farce people. It's true what they say - if it sounds too good to be true - IT IS!
They've been incapable of filling multiple prescriptions and often just don't notify you they haven't filled it. Their customer service is the least helpful I've ever dealt with, every time I contact them instead of trying to resolve the issue they tell me to try using CVS instead of them. When I've tried to transfer prescriptions they've cancelled every single one claiming they can't get in contact with the pharmacy or the prescriber, but when I've followed up with either they've not received any communication from OptumRX. I'd highly recommend any person who loves themselves and any company who loves their employees avoid this company at all costs.
It's impossible to get my prescriptions refilled, not only the agents are incompetent but they're rude! After spending senseless time on the phone hoping for a resolution, they shamelessly hang Up It's totally unacceptable, I'll be looking for another source to fill up my prescription since Optus Rex is a total disgrace
I returned a medication which they delivered later than promised and I had to buy from another pharmacy. After I returned which has been over 2 weeks and so far no refund yet. They always say the same story when I call "it has been processing" but at the end they have the returned medication and my money!
Creating an OptumRx account on-line has required a dozen sessions including 3-4 live agent calls. All the prescriptions I entered for refill on the website were lost, so started over with an agent (twice), I still get mobile messages asking me to order refills 2-3 times a day. Their software and operations process is totally broken.
Changed my address 4 times before they got it right. I would have gone 4 months without refills on my prescription if I hadn't been buying them locally instead, which the insurance didn't cover and came directly out of my pocket, through no fault of my own. Forced to buy in 3 month lots with enormous co-pays like $90.00 A MONTH For 1 of the meds. They've left me hanging numerous times like this. Beware being held hostage to a forced mail delivery pharmacy such as OptumRx. I now have to choose full price locally or do without life saving meds. Stress, dis-pleasure, angst. UNHAPPY!
I can't use colorful language here, but you will find yourself using it, when dealing this company, because you will not be happy with the services they try to offer. It is one screwed up thing after another. It took 4 years for my physician and I to get the correct combination of 2 meds, which have been working great for the past few years. After being forced to use this company, someone sitting at a desk has denied pre-authorization coverage for one of those meds, twice. I've had to suddenly stop taking the medication at 2 months in, because I've completely ran out, and still have no coverage. Their appeals process will waste another month. They didn't have my insurance info entered into their system, so they said, and charged me $280 for 3 meds that was actually only $38. Things stay "in processing" for weeks and weeks. I'm getting irritated just thinking about this company.
Miserable company! Twice now my son's medication has been switched from our normal pharmacy to Optum, without permission or authority. We then have to jump through hoops to get it switched back, esp as this rx is required to be refrigerated! I would never choose to do business with them.
Answer: They are a legitimate pharmacy benefits manager for United Healthcare, but their prices and practices leave alot to be desired.
Answer: Don't hold your breath - they are all about money - not customer service
Answer: You can send them a message on their website which they won't even read for days, so it's a useless feature. You can also call them at 1 (800) 356-3477 and sit on hold for 10 minutes before getting a person to talk to. In my experience, calling them has never resolved whatever issue I'm calling about, but you can talk to someone.
Answer: Only bad part of this united plan. Optum is worse than poor. They misplace Rx's and then lie
