I bought a surface cleaner that worked a total of 40 minutes... took it back for a refund but they said they said they do not refund surface cleaners. After arguing with the manager for 15 minutes he took it back. They gave me a refund receipt but never actually refunded the money back to my credit card.
So now they have my money and the crappy surface cleaner!

Ordered equipment in May, after it was ordered I was informed it was on back order. After a month I contacted customer service to check on a expected date. On July 2 I was told the equipment was arriving at their store on June 29,3 days previous. They were unable to send the item or verify that they had it. I asked to cancel or if I could get another similar item and they canceled my ordered. I was told they would work on my refund but couldn't tell me when to expect it. Poor customer relations, wont shop here again.

I ordered 3 parts, 2 in stock 1 out of stock, after a month i called. The order was cancelled due to wrong billing address. After straightening that out they said that would ship the products. After 2 more weeks i called again, the parts were at a UPS facility 100 miles away and they couldn't be delivered because N. T. messed up the delivery address this time. After 1 more week i called N. T. again and was told that i had called the UPS facility and told them i would be picking up the package. I cancelled my order and will never do business with this company again. NORTHERN TOOL IS THE WORST!

Purchased a leaf blower and it won't stay running for more that 5 minutes, Called Northern Tool and they told me it's not their problem because I put gas in it and I need to call the manufacturer (Husqvarna) I also purchased an extended warranty and not feeling good about that purchase either
Ordered a pair of John Deere boots for a Christmas gift. The reason I ordered from Northern Tool was because if they didnt fit he could take back to Northern Tool. Well they didnt fit and cannot take back to a store. Only way to get a refund is to mail boots back I cannot return at any Northern Tool store. So will NEVER order from them again. You have to return to manufacturers address and NOT Northern Tool. After paying postage you also have to pay a manufacturers 15% restocking fee. " DEC 2014

I made a purchase in May 2023. When I made my purchase, I never received a confirmation, no receipt, other than from PayPal, NOTHING. About 2 weeks later, I contact Northern Tool. They tell me my order was cancelled! I never received ANYTHING from them about cancelling my order either. Here I sit waiting for the tool that I needed, and they don't even have the courtesy to tell you that your order has been cancelled. I will no longer be using Northern Tool, I will go elsewhere. Even if it costs me a few pennies more, I will be guaranteed to receive my order and update emails without any problems.
Bought online for$24.42. Junk. Returned. Item reduced to $15.99. Refund 15.99, restocking fee. I will avoid this business in the future, other smart people will too.
I had a very bad experiences with the repair shop in rogers MN...I paid $150.00 and got back a bunch of parts...I do not rec-amend this place at all
Am sure they will be clossing down soon. Too many gentle customers ripped off. Kept my machine for alittle over two months as they initially gave me at most 2weeks to repair it. Their old mechanic could not finger out how to attach my parts so they bought their tripling prices. They then charge terrible labour just because someone took their sweet time to do a 45min job. On asking him, he had no clie how to run the machine. They then give me a bill equivalent to a new machine of the same. A rude manager namely steve tries to give me a rude face! He needs to get fired. Am taking it with their head office then edit this. I should have read their reviews!

I've read some of the reviews and are similar experiences as I had recently. I ordered online some tool bits, order went through and got a confirmation email. Checked my credit card and there was a pending from NT. After ONE MONTH of not receiving my order, I contacted CS with my order number. They said they had cancelled it but never notified me. Also that I could buy it again, but paying more than TWICE than I had payed! I complained and they simply answered "we can modify our prices whenever we want". SO now they have all my information to SCAM me with their junk mail, also my address AND my CREDIT CARD information to sell to hackers. THIS JOINT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN, STAY AWAY FROM NT LIKE THE PLAGUE!
I bought a NorTrac Dozer. The Transmission broke at just over 59 hours. Dozer has a two year Warranty. They refuse to even talk about it. The Dozer is chinese built and really has no frame for support at all. Total JUNK! And Nothern Tool Warranties are WORTHLESS.
They said that they delivered my order to the wrong address and I'm still waiting on my refund I have PayPal involved so I can get my money back is over $600 and is been 2 months avoid a headache don't buy from this people
Paul is a VERY rude manager at the Augusta Ga store562. When asked about a warranty on a tool he rudely stated he was not going to warranty it because it wasn't bought from there. Just to inform you, certain Brand name tools can be returned to any store that carries it and they will warranty it if they have it in stock...NOT MR RUDE PAUL! This store won't last long if he stays manager.

Received snowblower a week late and after using it twice over 10 days, Northern Tool refused a return. So I have this expensive elephant which is unsatisfactory.
River is a customer service rep. That took over a problem I have with FedEx, a jack ordered from Northern Tool on 11/25/19. I know this time of year is also time to be patient. I understand what they go through having a son that works for UPS. Because of this I gave them 2 weeks past the first delivery date for more than enough time to catch up. River called me back and said she didn't think she was FedEx's best friend anymore but I knew that meant she was taking care of me, her customer. River is one of the most friendly, professional Customer Care professionals I have ever worked with. Doing everything she could to get a delivery to happen. Although FedEx called her back almost immediately promising delivery by the end of day 12/13, they did not show up. I saw the truck on my street over the weekend but passed by my home. River and a co-worker that I'm sorry I don't have his name, are both on it now. I'm impressed with River and hope she is recognized as an exceptional employee. As a retail manager myself, it's this kind of person that represents the company to the customer when things aren't always so smooth. She makes Northern Tool a better company. Thank you River!
Answer: Absolutely horrible, you get the rub around with emails containing same useless info from multiple people, shop elsewhere and save yourself the stress and anxiety
