We ordered a critical tool to perform a job that we under under contract for. The tool arrived on Monday the 16th. It was missing a critical piece. We immediately called Northern Tool for the piece. At this point they have 4 days to get us the part. Here we are on Wednesday afternoon and still have no tracking or a replacement part on the way. We have notified Amex and intend to dispute the charge. This is no way to support a customer who is using your tools. We will purchase elsewhere so we are not let down. Advice to anyone interested in Purchasing from Northern Tool. If you can find your item elsewhere you will be better off. They do not care about you only care about selling cheap foreign made tools.
Charged me 180.00 for expidited shipping on a jackhammer that should have showed up in 4 days. The jackhammer showed up 2 weeks later. Would not refund me my money for the shipping that i paid extra for. The tool should have been free shipping, but I needed it right away so I paid the added cost to ship it quicker. They just took my money. Offered me a 50 dollar gift card instead. What a piece of crap they are. Don't waste your money on these guys.
Our company purchased the 2 gun 4000psi unit one year ago along with the extended warranty. We have had to replace the burner, the hose reels 2 x's, all of the hoses and the unloader valve 3 x's. This week the tire and rim flew off of the trailer due to all 5 bolts snapping off. Every time we have tried to make a claim the warranty department has said this is normal wear and tear. Norther tool and their line of NorthStar pressure cleaners is a joke. Spend the extra money and get yourself a quality product.
The auto twirler is junk. I put it together and that was fine. I put my car on it and when I went to turn the gear box, it only rotated 1 time and then that was it. It would not turn anymore. The handle turns freely and does not rotate the car. I called northern tool customer service and they were no help, they were quick to palm me off to the manufacturer of the product which was no help either. Now I am stuck with an expensive tool that Is not functional and useless now. Do not buy this device from northern tool.
I have purchased numerous high dollar tools from your company. With each and every purchase I have experienced bad issues or tools and customer relations. I purchased wood stove and took it home in a looked like damaged create, got it home and discovered over 1/2 of fire brick broke,. Purchased a log splitter and arrived at store and was told the only log splitter was a assembled and I had to pay over 200 dollars because it was assembled got it home and discovered it needed HYD and motor oil, again was not informed it was not already oiled. Also recently had a issue with same said log splitter and called customer because it would not start, at the most it has 200 hours and I changed filter and spark plug same time last fall. I decided the coil tested bad and needed replacing. Now for the last straw, I called parts and customer and said I needed the part number for coil. Because in the owners manual there are only "kits" that have part numbers and other related parts do not have parts number. Discovered the reason is because there are only 3 parts that can be gotten because of Chinese made motors have very few parts and then I was informed I had to go to 3rd party parts company who northern tool has purchased and created a monopoly so if you need parts you have to purchase then through Jacks small engine company. If you have not already figured I will not let this slide I do hundreds of reviews and this takes the cake for robbery of customers. This is shameful and I will make every effort to inform the public, as I have make countless purchases with northern but none any more.
They are unbelievable stupid and incompetent. I ordered a propane heater on Friday and got an email on Monday that the order was cancelled. So I call and wait forever to get a live person and then they tell me that there was confusion because the billing address on my credit card wasn't the same as the ship to address. Wow, complicated, huh? So I spent a lot of time explaining, they reprocessed my credit card info and said it would ship that day. Wednesday I notice I sitll haven't been notified of shipping and I go to the website and see it hasn't shipped. I get in a chat session and they tell me I need to call them to get the credit card info straightened out. I was not going to call, wait god knows how long again just to have to go over the same bull$#*!. They suck. I will never deal with them again.
Placed an order online, and have an account with NT, there is no place to add a PO# when checking out. I contacting them afterward to see if I can add a PO# to my order, so when it arrives, our receiving department knows where the order goes and who it goes to. I was told if I added a PO# then i would have to call back and pay for the material a second time, as the PO# would wipe out the payment info. Just ridiculous. Never heard of a software that doesnt ask for a PO# from the customer. Especially in a business to business environment. Will have to spend 30 minutes this morning to pace a $200 order
Bought a PTO shaft for my tractor to run my seeder. Talked to sales, and they told me which one was for my seeder. The shaft broke after a week's use. In talking to customer service, this time they said that I needed a beefier one. Since I had already used the one they recommended, they could not take as a return. I forked out another $150, and this time the shaft arrived, I unpacked it, and noticed that the flange on one end had been damaged. Called customer service and they said that I should not have accepted the item. They would take a look at it if I returned it, but could not guarantee anything. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. I ignored the bad reviews and now I am paying the price. These are bad people.
I ordered a hitch for my vehicle and realized shortly after ordering it that it would not fit my application. I attempted to call to cancel the order but was on hold for extended time. After about 20 min I send an email to the customer service email that was included in my order email. After a few hours of no response, I called and waited on hold until I was able to get through. The person I talked to said they couldn't help because they were in sales and I needed to call customer service (which I thought I had just done!). I called again and waited on hold for another 20 min and finally got through to a customer service agent. He said the item had not shipped but could not be canceled because it was too far along in process. I asked if they could at least cover return shipping given the delays in response from customer service. He said they were very busy and it was my fault for placing the order to begin with. Never again will I order from these guys.
I paid for a heater that was in stock at a wearhouse.
One week latter still sitting in wearhouse but was told it would be shipped soon to a different wearhouse. I canceled the order as i was renting a heater and they couldn't give me delivery date.
Order canceled 7 days after order and as of 39 day later they still haven't returned my mon.
Tried ordering some parts from them since they showed in stock. I needed the parts by the weekend and they showed I should receive it by thursday if I paid next day shipping so I did.
Order was still processing on Saturday, so I called to cancel. Was told it would cancel. Had to call again since it wasn't cancelled, promised they would cancel the order.
Then on Monday, order still not cancelled, person arguing with me and talking over me that it wasn't showing as cancelled (duh, thats why I am calling yet again).
Avoid, will never purchase from them again.
I ordered a product (a wood splitter), but I never received it. Northern Tools says that FedEx delivered it, so Northern Tool says it's not their problem. And FedEx says it's not their problem.
Bottom line: I'm out $130. I'll never shop at Northern Tool and instead stick to Amazon. Amazon wouldn't make a shipping problem their customer's problem.
I ordered an Honda generator in the store and 45 minutes later, I decided I needed a bigger generator. I went back to the store and placed a second order for the bigger generator and canceled the first order. Well, 20 days later, I am still waiting for the credit of the canceled order. The store told me to contact the customer care, the customer care said it is the store's problem, nothing but runaround. I will wait for 5 more days and then I will contact my credit card.
I placed a order on july 28 for some bucket forks delivered for 336.26. I have a E-GIFT CARD for 100.00. The pin is 1533, E-Gift card last four numbers 8 576. I was trying to collect my 100.00 card from this order. The very next morning I called customer service and was told this would be taken of and a credit refund would be placed to my paypal account. I received 2 Quantum industrial units on 3/7/17 and the vertical posts had holes that did not line up with shelves to use bolts as per included instructions and clips too loose to secure shelves. I called and spoke to John at Customer Service and told him I received 8 incorrect posts or 14 incorrect shelves and the order was botched. A week passed and no word back. I called Quantum mfg. On 3/14/17 and explained the problem and was told by the SALES Person she couldn't help me because I was a Northern Tool customer and I all issues had to go through the NT. I explained I did call a week earlier but had not heard back. Unbelievable. I found an e-mail from NT on 3/18/17 with a link to send pictures to a contact at Quantum. I sent in pics and still don't have a satisfactory resolution. WTF. Buyer beware!
Can't believe they take advantage of the working man I bought a air compressor here $1500 sent it in because of problems the mechanic didn't even check his work I've waited a month to get it back this is terrible I will never shop here again Customer service is rude the manager up there was terrible thought the store was for the workingman never again

I ordered a heated power washer and the representative was great. The order was suppose to be delivered a week later which is why I went with them. Then I called the delivery company which was YRC a division on New Penn they said it would be there Thursday and they said Friday. I had guys and machine waiting there as this is a 500 lbs piece of equipment. Monday I called the YRC and they informed me they do not know where the package is, so I call Northern and they said they can not refund me.
This company does nothing but lie and then scold you for not being happy that they did. I purchased a 11thousand dollar tool, and after a week of not getting any delivery information I called them. I was told the delivery that they gave me both over the live chat as well the order status was not true, it wont be delivered until January. How is it not illegal to NOT tell someone they are buying a backordered part? Northern tool is aware they don't have any, they are aware that they are lying. DO NOT DO BUSSINESS with this company. You will get messed over.
We normally do not have problems when we order through EBAY However Northern Tools has tied up our money for 20 days so far... We sent them 3 messages no response... called Customer Service ( now that's what I call for an oxymoron) the three calls included over an hour and a half on hold each with BS story Do yourself a favor avoid this company and when using EBAY be sure to check the feedback especially the negative... Hopefully you will avoid the pain & suffering we are going through
